Great !!! delicious mac & cheese outstanding service food not only looked good, but tasted even better

Fatty Fish Shack is always a solid option for a laid-back Florida afternoon. We stopped in for the covered outdoor seating and live music after spending the day relaxing in a hammock on the Dunedin Causeway -- and it hit the spot. I love that the outdoor area is covered, so you still get the fresh air without the sun beating down on you. It was surprisingly slow this visit (I've been here before when it was packed), but service was still easygoing and the drinks were reasonably priced for what you get. We tried the smoked mahi fish dip -- definitely a standout, super flavorful and worth ordering. The West Connecticut lobster roll was good, and while the coleslaw was a little on the dry side, the potato salad made up for it. Overall, it's not somewhere I'd write off -- I'd absolutely come back. It's a great go-to on a pretty day if you're in the mood for live music, decent drinks, and a relaxed vibe. read more

We went back for Open Mic and a drink. Sat at the bar and ordered the nachos with the beans. Holy, these had to be some of the best nachos I've ever had. Lots of cheese and pulled chicken. They were excellent. Totally made up for the awful conch fritters we had last visit. And open mic was pretty good as well. There's some talented people hanging out in Palm harbour. read more

Our waiter was definitely slow to get our order for drinks and food. I had the lobster roll warm and I could've swore on the menu it said it came with other stuff, but it was really just some lobster in a Texas toast roll. The coleslaw was incredibly dry and I was not a fan of their potato salad. The mahi fish dip was actually really good. It tasted fresh. And the Long Island iced tea I had was strong. We ended up here on a whim. We were checking out the new "downtown market" and there wasn't much to eat at it so we saw this was walking distance and decided to check it out! Really glad we did! The prices were great, the food we ordered was well done. I really liked the fish sandwich. The tacos were just okay. Drinks are great price. We got there just before lunch but most of the tables shortly filled up and they had a live performance going. It was really nice! Their indoor seating is really small so if you don't like eating outdoors, it's probably not the place for you, but it's well shaded, and they do have fans/heaters. read more

Visited in April while the fair was going on next door. Lived the live music. Patrons and bartenders were friendly. Awesome happy hour. Tasty food. Definitely will be back. Oh and hypnotiq freeze pops for a few dollars Happy hour after 10 had $5 margaritas, $5 wells, $5 cheeseburger (yummy), oysters, wings (tasty) and clam strips. Live music every night. Was so excited to try this spot. In the mix with 7-8 other hopping restaurants, this should have been a great meal. Got seated and met our server, Morgan, the star of the evening. Ordered mussels and fries as an app, along with some drinks. The sauce was good, but about 1/3 were dead and closed....so? The fish and chips was obviously just frozen chunks of cod thrown into a fryer and tossed on a plate, the grey/black color just isn't appealing. The grilled grouper sandwich was good, the lone savior of the meal. Mahi mahi with pineapple salsa was so overcooked, we thought we were being punked. I will say that the house white wine was great, so points for that...we won't be returning. read more

Everyone enjoyed the food, and service was friendly and quick. However... One of the servers was inappropriately dressed to serve food in any restaurant. I lost my appetite halfway through my meal. She was dressed poorly and had a habit of leaning on a table when talking to patrons, it was revolting. Not going back. read more

This place is so good. I love the fried calamari and the margaritas. The atmosphere is great, the service is fantastic. Christopher is hands down the best, I've never had such perfect service to where I am not actually complaining about something. This was a favorite spot of ours They always had a number of different oysters on special. Saturday we had company from Philly and bragged about this place. We were seated immediately but the waitress did not show up for 20 minutes. After placing drink orders, it took another 20 minutes to receive them. She then took our food order which took 30 minutes to be served. Most of our guests were pleased with the food but not all. I ordered the crab cake sandwich. It came out burnt. I would have sent it back, but never saw the waitress. I picked through it and found it had very little crab and was all stuffing. One of our party ordered the mac and cheese with crab and again very little crab. We were very disappointed. I know it is challenging to have good help these days but someone needs to monitor what is going on in the restaurant. My son stopped by to say hello to everyone and ordered 2 quesadillas to go. He was in a hurry and just paid the bill. I looked at it afterwards and saw there was no slip that broke down the charges. After reviewing the menu saw he was overcharged $10. Would have complained but again the waitress was no where to be found! Will not be coming back as there are so many options in Pinellas. read more

We were a party of 6 eating around 4pm as we had missed lunch. The food was good but nothing wow'ed me. They do have a happy hour menu but it wasn't given when you sit down so you have to ask them to tell you what is on the happy hour menu. My dinner the grouper came out about 10 min after everyone else had their food and they didn't really address the issue. If you're in the area looking for seafood it's worth giving it a try as long as you have the right expectations. read more

Cool vibe. They have seats inside and out with the outside covered and ample fans to keep it cool. We decided to try on a Tuesday afternoon and the service was quick with the food coming out hot and fresh. We tried the grouper nuggets and the chicken quesadillas. We had the Smoked Salmon appetizer and I had the Mahi sandwich. Both were delicious. We've been here a lot and they often have excellent music. Parking is pretty easy in this neighborhood as well. There's a lot of typical bar food on the menu but I would appreciate a better salad selection and more info on brews they serve. read more

I'm leaving 4 stars because the Greek salad was one of the best! The only thing I would add is peppercinis. The beer was not cold. We got a Red Stripe and a PBR so Mr. Manager please make the beer colder! We live in Florida and if you have an outside bar you need ice cold beer. Put it on ice, if necessary. Thanks so much. We also got the fish spread. Small portion and 3 pieces of celery and four crackers. If the portion has to remain small at least give us some cheap veggies. Maybe 2 more pieces of celery and a few carrot sticks. Can you up the crackers too. It was good just too little food. Music was good, service not the best. That's all. Ordered fresh oysters and calamari. The calamari was good but a VERY small portion for the price. The oysters were not good. We ordered the black point and blue point oysters. We had an opportunity to visit during our trip to Palm Harbor/Tarpon Springs. We went to fireside the night before and heard the band play at Fattys Fish Shak. We thought, let's check this place out the next day. We went for the first time and will be the last time. We ordered calamari and alligator bites. The calamari was over cooked and not good. Breading was horrible. Barely dredged in the coating. We returned the appetizer. Alligator bites were ok. Overpriced for them We had a party of 5; we ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and crab Mac and cheese. It looks appealing on the menu, BAD. Too much pasta, no flavor, very disappointing. The only good thing was the live music on the weekend. That was it. read more

Good place for a filling bite! Got the shrimp tacos and they were delicious! The server was kind and attentive, giving recommendations off the menu. The vibe was very cute but we should have gone after sunset because the heat was unbearable. They have a few fans but the heat was unreal and made me finish my meal as fast as I could. My first time being back to this place since it changed from Bar Fly. I really like what they've done to the place. The menu is fresh and has a wide variety of options from burgers to seafood. I opted for the crab cake sandwich and was very pleased. The tartar sauce tasted homemade and the crab cake was full of lump crab and not overly bready. I also got a side of the shrimp chowder which was really good. Food and drinks are reasonably priced, and they have live music. Really good all around! read more

We only discovered this place less than 2 weeks ago. We have ordered 4 times & loved everything! I kept eyeing that pretzel but thought it can't be worth $12.50. Well, I decided to try it anyways. It was amazing! The queso is also delicious. The pretzel is crispy on the outside & soft & hot inside. It also came I it's own pan! Then the crab cake sandwiches are fresh, hot & seasoned perfectly. The fries are even excellent & seasoned well. I can't praise them enough. If you like seafood, give them a try. If not, order a pretzel & you won't go hungry. read more
