My boyfriend and I came in for lunch, hungry and sweating from the heat. As we were ordering at the counter, the blonde girl behind it kept glancing up at us, then went to get another employee with blue hair, saying, "Look at this," while pointing in our direction. The blue haired girl then loudly said, "What are we doing wrong?" implying they couldn't understand why we could have a partner and they couldn't. The pictures on Yelp helped us to choose Fazoli's. After seeing absolutely nobody at the Fazoli's in South Overland Park, on a Friday night and it looking closed, I called the telephone number only to have it answered by the manager at the Shawnee location name Jennifer.She did not understand why nobody was at that location at said they were busy. Because of the pictures of the food looking good, we drove to the Shawnee location. Jennifer told me that she called the district manager because of not understanding what was with the other location. Six people in our group (3 of us were brothers) ate delicious food, and the manager Jennifer brought food to us, server Haley made sure everything was good, and everyone in the store there appreciation that we chose to dine with them. We mentioned that we originally from Overland Park, and came into town to celebrate my Aunt's birthday. Haley heard us mention birthday, and even though our Aunt was not with us, gave one of my brothers a large birthday cookie. The food is not spectacular, but good and we felt so welcomed as if we were regulars!! The breadsticks were super fresh and hot! The restaurant overall was cleaner than many. Went thru the drive thru recently. Service was faster than it has been in the past. Food is exactly what to expect for fast food Italian. Breadsticks great as usual. My wife and I brought three of our grandkids here for dinner (dine-in) last night and our order total including tip was $60.26. The timestamp on the receipt was 7:08 PM. We could see they were busy, so we expected to wait a bit. However, as our wait time approached thirty minutes, we could not ask these hungry kids to wait any longer. The manager did not challenge our request to cancel our order and the timestamp on that transaction was 7:41. When she mentioned only having two hands, I wanted to suggest if she would use them to manage her staff more effectively, she wouldn't be in the kitchen doing the work herself as they were in dire need of direction. However, out of pity I chose not to say anything except to thank her, as she was already stressed enough as it was. I can't imagine how many times I've driven by this store on Quivira Road over the past 25 years but last night's visit was my first and I must now add only visit. read more

My dine-in lunch experience was much better than this location's rating would predict. The $5 lunch (which included two half entrees, unlimited bread sticks, and a drink) was a very good value. I chose the chicken fettuccine alfredo premium entree ($1 adder), and a house salad. My salad was ready at the counter immediately, and my hot entree was brought to my table in nine minutes. The salad was fresh and tasty, and the chicken fettuccine alfredo was surprisingly good, with delicious chunks of seasoned meat, and a creamy sauce. The service was very good, with free, warm, scrumptious, bread sticks flowing, and a manager stopping by to make sure everything was okay. The dining area was also clean and spacious. This is possibly my first 1 star review ever and they earned it! So after we fought off the urge to leave as soon as we entered. The poor teenager at the front counter who had been yelled at by Cheryl the "manager" for taking too many orders "those people are going to have to wait until I get caught up!" So those people were in front of us and they left begging us to do the same. However, we hadn't been to fazolis in a long time and the kids were looking forward to the breadsticks. After 15 mins we had the privilege of them taking our order and money. Fast forward 25 mins we got our food. Surprise it was to go! Funny we said for here and we picked out out very own table it was actually one of the 3 that were clean in the whole place. So as we unpack our dine in picnic. I could tell this was not going to be good. I took pics of our feast. I did go get breadsticks while we waited. I believe Brenda was the only employee that seemed to care. She apologized to everyone individually as she brought out extra bread or food and each time she returned to the counter you could hear Cheryl say something unprofessional to her. My suggestion is if you're reading this before you go... and upon entering if they are upset with each other and there are 4 tables of people inside and two cars in drive thru probably skip it they are over worked and you'll pay for it... read more

This is fast food Italian, and anyone expecting some grand experience is going to be obviously disappointed. That being said, for the price and speed, the food is great. Their breadsticks especially are amazing. All of their food doesn't exactly look like much, but across the board it's delicious for the price. A manager nightmare. My family and I made a special trip to eat at Fazoli's today. As we entered we knew right away this might not be a great experience. The tension was high. The staff in the kitchen were yelling out to the customers already waiting in line to place their order. An older employee/manager rudely yelled "We've got to get caught up on orders, you'll just have to wait". I looked around to see maybe five tables filled and wondered just how they could be so behind and unable to take new orders. It was a Sunday at noon. We waited patiently as other customers left the line to leave the restaurant due to the wait. Finally 10-15mins later we placed our order and went to sit down. Several tables were dirty and there were no silverware available. During this time the same employee/manager brought out another tables food stating angrily "this is what you ordered right? Sorry for the wait, another staff member did not show up so I HAD to come in today" and she stomped off. Trust me I understand that frustration, but yelling and complaining to customers is not cool. After another 15 minutes another staff member brought out a To-Go order stating it was ours... uhh no, we've been waiting now for 30+ mins for "fast food" dine in and now you bring out our lunch in a plastic bag. Going from now bad to worse the food was definitely not a typical Fazoli's. The chicken in the fettuccini Alfredo was so rubbery and basically uneddible. The pizza was gross. Down in history as our worst Fazoli experience. read more

DO NOT order online from here. I ordered ravioli with marinara and cheesecake along with other food. I picked up my food and looked through the bag. On the receipt they had crossed out cheesecake and wrote in terrible hand writing "out of cheesecake" and also crossed out ravioli. I assumed they would give me a refund for both items which was not the case. They gave me ravioli with meat sauce (I'm a vegetarian) and did not refund cheesecake. When I called the store they said could not refund me because I ordered online and fought me to speak to the manager. I tried explaining to the manager and she responded with I'll refund it and hung up on me. I never received my refund and paid for food that was not given to me. I am very unsatisfied. read more

I love their baked items! Either the Spaghetti or the Ziti. The Ravioli is awesome too. They also have a good variety of salads, so try one. They have combo meals where you can pick a pasta and have get a salad and a drink for a better price. Plus you are eating on real plates with real silverware. Also when you eat in the breadsticks are all you can eat and the drinks are free refills!! The prices are MUCH BETTER than Macaroni Grill or Olive Garden! read more

Guess I should have read their reviews before ordering. Went online to order a family assortment for lunch yesterday. Wife went and picked it up. When she arrived they still hadn't opened the doors (after 12 noon) had to wait and still hadn't made the food I ordered an hour earlier. Wife brought home the bag of food they provided her assigned to my name. The entire order was wrong, not one thing we ordered. Obviously they mixed up our order with someone else's. We got the short end as I ordered for 4 people and we got a meal for 1. I called the store several times and the phone rings until it disconnects the call. I'd fire the staff and start over. I wish I could offer a better review, but it simply can't be justified. There's no reason a place serving PASTA should be so slow. When you eat in, they try to appease with free warm breadsticks...but if, God forbid, you place a carry-out order at the counter, plan to spend a minimum of 20 minutes standing around. They are disorganized, inefficient, and the whole place is seemingly brought to its knees by a family-sized meal. Drive thru service seems marginally quicker, but sometimes they just block it off, presumably because they don't have enough staff to run it. It's impossible to know when drive thru will be closed without going there, and if it is, your choices are a wasted trip or a LONG wait inside. It's just ridiculous to spend twice as much time waiting as it would take you to boil water and cook noodles at home. read more

Not the best place to get Italian food on the go. I really don't like this place anyway but will occasionally stop if I'm with someone. I just happened to have a free gift card so I got the chicken carbonara. I'm not sure where they put the Alfredo sauce, the noodles are fairly dry, there are very little vegetables on it and peek a boo chicken! (Meaning a piece of chicken will pop up every once in a while). Even the breadsticks were a bit hard. I was really disappointed tonight. I'll never return to this store again. I tried to call in an order, phone rang forever. Someone answered and I asked could I place a phone order. Person on the phone kept saying he could t hear me. Told me to hold while he fiddled with what he said was the volume. Eventually said, he couldn't take a phone order because they were too busy. Told me to place the order online. At this time I was 12 mins away from restaurant. I placed the order online. Spaghetti and meatballs. That's it. Showed up and the place was practically empty. Not busy at all. One family in the back, a single customer to the west raise of the store and a couple that the manager who was too busy to take a phone order was chatting up. They looked like a captive audience. I stood at the front of the store for about five minutes. He looked up from his conversation with the couple he was talking to, twice, but never greeted or acknowledged my presence. Finally, a worker from the back yelled, more for the managers benefit, than mine, "Well be right with you!" Manager finally breaks from his enthralling convo, comes to the front and asked how could he help. I said I had a pickup, he didn't hear me, probably why he couldn't hear on the phone, and asked how could he help again. I repeated, and he said "You orders ready, I just need to bag it up. He was bagging breadsticks and they fell on the dirty counter and he still put them in the bag.(gross.) I asked for other ones, he obliged. My problem is that if they touched the filthy counter, you shouldn't have to ask for replacements. Manager seemed more concerned with having his ego stroked by customers than actually helping or taking orders. It wasn't busy, he could've taken the order over the phone and he needs a refresher in food handling. So here's the drive thru experience that will make it so I never go back here again. We pulled in and sat behind two cars. Shortly after another came in behind us, so we couldn't just leave. I wondered why it was taking so long and 20 minutes later as we finally pulled up to the order spot we came to realize why. We sat there for 15 minutes before they took our order!!! Why so long before we were even greeted? It was because they didn't acknowledge us until the car in front of us was given their food and they left. The first thing I asked was why they wouldn't acknowledge us, and the answer I got was "look, I don't have time for this, just order your food." The food here is great. But wow. The drive thru is literally so slow. And you get stuck in it so you can't just leave. I had a crying baby and it was just a mess. I love the food and the breadsticks are to die for. So I would recommend if you were going to be going in. But 25 minutes in the drive thru (10 of it while at the window after I paid) is absolutely ridiculous. All I ordered were 2 salads and chicken Alfredo. The lady didn't even apologize or mention the wait. They gave us extra breadsticks though. So that was definitely a plus. read more

I guess I should have went indoors instead of the drive-thru because I wound up waiting 30 minutes in the line to get my food, only to find that they forgot my salad and I had to go back and get it. If you're on an anti-carb diet, not the place for you. If you want cheap, decent Italian food, this is the place for you. A decent menu, the baked spaghetti is a good place to start. Eat half, take the rest home for tomorrow. The ambience factor is nada, unless you count cheesy piped in music and fake "vintage" wall decorations as ambience. The breadsticks are legendary, which is well deserved. Eat as many as you want, just go running when you get home to work them off.
