You order at the counter when you walk in, so it has a casual, almost cafeteria-style setup, but the space itself is BEAUTIFUL. The building has so much character, history and gorgeous architecture, and the decor gives very warm, rustic, farm-to-table, homegrown vibes. There are interesting little details everywhere you look. It also seems to be a great daytime meeting spot. Kansas City is apparently still a very small town because during one lunch I randomly ran into both a friend from undergrad AND an old coworker I hadn't seen in forever. I ordered the Salmon BLT and really enjoyed it. The salmon was delicious, the brioche was great, and even the chips were good. If I could change one thing, I think a slice of cheese would take the sandwich up another notch. Provolone would be good, but pepper jack might really set it off. Overall, my food was wonderful, I loved the atmosphere, and it's a great choice for lunch when you want something casual but still want to sit somewhere with personality. I just moved to the area for work and I was so happy to see that there was a Picklemans near my work on Ward Parkway. I lived pretty close to one when I went to Mizzou and I've always had a good experience there. A roommate of mine put me up on the place in college and swore by the Asiago Chicken Pizza. It was so good to get that pizza back into my life today. I was initially scared the quality wasn't going to be the same as they continue to move to other cities but everything was excellent. If you like subway... You should stay there! Pickleman's only uses higher quality meat and produce. Not bottom dollar produce and meat like the other guys. -- The #17 Chipotle Chicken with Bacon is one of my favorite sandwiches ever!
