We called in our order ahead of time. They were very helpful in expediting our order and having it ready shortly after we arrived. We were in a bit of a time crunch so we appreciated that. This store is very clean and well kept And the staff was very nice and helpful. My wife and I both had the Italian sandwich on wheat bread and I added jalapeños to mine. Both of us thought the bread was absolutely fantastic and the sandwich was very, very good. I think this is the closest location to our house in Lee's Summit, so it's quite a drive. Picklemans in Waldo is a great late night snack in the area (& for lunch/dinner). The order said it would take 45 minutes and I got it sooner that that. My favorite pizza: 1/2 BBQ Chicken Pizza and 1/2 Chicken Giardiniera Pizza on cauliflower crust...amazing! I have also tried many of their salads and have never been dissatisfied. My favorite is the Walnut Cranberry Salad because it is super fresh and has large chunks of walnuts, cranberries, and blue cheese mixed in. Don't forgot to order a pickle! read more

Desperately wishing I would have checked the reviews on this restaurant prior to ordering delivery. Unfortunately we wanted a meatball sub. Estimated delivery was 45 minutes when I ordered at 6:09. Received a notification stating my driver was out for delivery at 6:50, it is now 7:20 and no food. I live 4 minutes from the shop. Called the restaurant to see what the hold up was. I was told "I have told all the drivers to drive slowly in the rain as I don't want any accidents on my shift." Okay, I can understand not driving crazy but it's barely raining, and I live 4 minutes away? Definitely not ordering here again. Update: 7:30 and the delivery finally arrived. read more

The Waldo location of the Pickleman's chain is a nice neighborhood place to grab some pizza with friends or family. While many people drop in for a sandwich, I prefer the freshly-made pizzas. There are a plethora of different options but I recommend sticking with the pepperoni pizza. I ordered a medium and it was more than enough for two, especially as they cut their version into small squares. The salads probably should be avoided but not because there is a quality issue; I just prefer made to order salads and these come in a prepackaged bowl. The customer service is solid and folks seems ready to serve you, but nothing memorable. read more

Since Coffee Girls (which I ADORE) was crowded and it was raining we went to the nearby Pickleman's. I hadn't been impressed on my first visit, but this time it was much better. The gentleman at the counter greeted us warmly, explained the menu to us, and just couldn't have been nicer! My party of 4 all loved what we ordered. I got the BLTC with added avocado- sooooo yummy. The place was clean and well decorated and the staff was friendly- my only issues were the hard booths and the fact that the soups we ordered were served in plastic take-out bowls, even though we were dining in. We went in late about a week ago and there was only one employee working in the back but they were not busy so no big deal. What makes me give them a 5 star review is that specific employee. I didn't catch his name but he is tall and unbelievably friendly. I know he told us he just transferred to this location from Columbia. He clearly has some great customer service skills and was so calm for being the only person staffed. His energy was very welcoming and professional. Great food and wish there was a Pickleman's closer to my house. I got a sandwich which was very good and my girlfriend got a pizza which was also good. My only complaint is a little pricy for a place you order at the counter and don't get served. The restaurant was clean but there was an employee wiping down tables and having a very loud conversation on his cell phone. But I've since moved to the neighborhood and last night I needed someone to deliver - and Pickleman's was so close so I gave them a second chance. Thank goodness I did. The food was made to my exact specifications, arrived hot and delicious. Though the order confirmation said my food would take an hour to deliver, it got there in about half the time. The delivery driver was a sweetheart to come out at that hour - such a gentleman - and when we started digging in, I realized why everyone kept telling me to go back. I hate to start off with a gripe, but if you're donning the name Picklemans, please don't charge me extra to get a pickle with my deli sandwich! Seriously, you have to pay extra; you can purchase a half or whole pickle. I can't review the pickle...just too cheap to buy one! Now on to the main stuff. The deli has been nicely renovated and has a sleek, clean appearance. I enjoyed a buffalo chicken salad, very tasty and plentiful. My husband had a turkey sandwich, nothing to write home about. They grill the sandwiches which is a nice touch, but it can't make up for the extremely skimpy portion of meat and vegetables. They're delicious but the people that work there either are staring at you while they loaf around or they are rude. I'll state up front, I'm not a huge sandwich kind of guy. So when I eat one, I want it to be good. Came here with my friend Gail for lunch. Walked in around noon, & it was pretty much dead. Hardly any customers. No biggie, maybe they were just having a slow day. Gail ordered the meatball with Marinara; I had the Turkey & provolone with avocado added. The only word to describe both sandwiches was: BLAND! My sandwich tasted fine, overall, but man!!! It needed something (not sure what, maybe a spicy mustard?) But the real downfall was the meatball sub. Again, it definitely didn't taste bad; but I took a bite of the meatball, & there was literally no spice at all to this Italian delicacy. I don't mean the hot kind of spice -- I mean it lacked flavor. I don't think I've ever tasted a meatball like this. If older people, or people with unusually high intolerance for spicy & flavorful foods, knew about this place, it would be overrun with business. Everyone that helped us were awesome, so they've hit the service standards out of the ballpark. Chocolate Chip cookie was good. Looking at the on line menu, I DO want to come back to try the Pickleman's Italian Club -- the pepper relish that I see looks awesome, & maybe that's what's needed to bump up the flavor of each sandwich. ~shrug~ I'll make a return visit, because I want to give them another chance, & to sample the soup offerings. read more

First time here. I was on a scooter ride and decided to try then for lunch. They were very welcoming and friendly. I ordered the Italian beef with cheese and peppers. I asked about the tomato soup and the reply was, "I don't like tomato soup but I like ours." So I ordered it. They have one of those fancy Coke machines which I like because I can get a flavored caffeine free Coke. It seemed rather pricy for what you get. The food: you get a bland cold roll with the soup. The soup was rather bland as well. The au jus was good but the sandwich was a bit flavorless. The bread, I assume it's fresh baked, is pretty good.
