FEAST OIB is a great little spot located in the small downtown area, about a mile before the bridge to the beach. It was only a 4-minute walk from our rental, and with all the good reviews, we had to check it out. When we first walked in, the vibe gave old-school seafood buffet energy, the kind you'd expect at a beach town. But don't let the look fool you. The food was good! It wasn't very busy, aside from a big group and a couple other tables, but we were there early-ish 6pm. We snagged seats at the bar. We tried a few local beers and chatted with a local who gave us the scoop on some fun events happening that weekend. I had been craving crab legs and ended up going for the Seafood Platter Extravaganza. When I ordered, the server said, "The Extravaganza? You go girl!" I laughed and asked if it was really that big, and she told me it was enough for two people. Naturally, I had to try it for myself. Honestly, when it came out, it wasn't quite as extravagant as I had imagined. It was definitely enough for one person, but not for two. I only left behind a cob and a couple taters. The crab legs were flavorful, cooked just right, and generous in portion. The lobster tail was also delicious, though a bit small for something billed as extravagant. The shrimp was fantastic and the cocktail sauce was packed with flavor. It came with some solid veggies to round it all out. My partner ordered the local favorite, the shrimp burger. We had never heard of one before and had questions. I honestly thought it was going to be a regular burger with shrimp on top. Nope. It was made entirely of shrimp, some pureed, some chopped into chunks, and formed into a patty. And let me tell you, it was delicious. We loved it so much, we made our own shrimp burgers when we got home. The onion rings were also super crunchy and fried to a perfect golden brown. We would absolutely go back to FEAST OIB to try more dishes... or just order the exact same thing again! Highly recommend for a laid-back spot with solid seafood.

This place has the best grouper ever. I've been here several times now and it one of the best places for fish. I had a new side today - green beans with tomato sauce. This was delish! Everyone in my party loved their meals. Service always great.

We gave this a try on a whim - it was just "ok", and for those prices... not sure ok is good enough. Restaurant was clean and tidy, and service was good. The salmon was fine. Potatoes were underseasoned. Don't spend $14 on the pretzel bites. They are totally super pretzel brand bites you can get from Sam's.

We tried this place for the first time. Our party of seven were mostly pleased with their food. We were all pleased with our server, Chelsea! The service was on point the entire meal. We never wanted or waited for anything. The chicken bacon ranch sandwich was really good. The burger was great. The buffalo chicken sandwich was good. The mac and cheese side was memorable and served in small cast iron serving bowls. The only thing that wasn't great was the chicken parm sandwich. The chicken was like a frozen breaded patty that was heated up, placed in a bun, and topped with spaghetti sauce. The patty was't warm in the center. I Should have ordered a burger.

The burgers are amazing. Single or double, half pound patties. Cooked to order. It's pink or no pink, and they are juicy. They have an electic list of toppings from Doritos to sautéed mushrooms. Yes, Doritos. I opted for good ole lettuce, tomato, mayo, and pickles. It was delicious. It's an extra fee for sides, fries, etc. One suggestion, warm the bun or toast it on the grill. The bun was cool to touch, which took away a bit, but the burger was still good. I had the burger only since I enjoyed the Buffalo chicken dip appetizer. It was spicy, and the tortilla chips were ample. The chips were thick. Couldn't tell if housemade or not, but held they up to the dip. They have a full bar, Coke products, and iced tea. They also offer full entrees. There is a setup for live music, as well.

A must have for my first day at any ocean are crab legs. We didn't feel like driving too far so stopped in here and soooo glad we did. The crab legs were plentyful & hubbies shrimp creole was awesome. We both had a cocktail that were both tasty & strong. I cant say enough good about our service... highly recommend.

Stopped in by chance for a quick lunch. Had the shrimp burger & fries. Service was great (thanks Eric)! Unsweet ice tea was a good brew too. We'll go back again when we visit the area.

Fantastic meal & service! The filet was perfectly cooked at medium rare. The sauce on the scallops is unreal. We eat out regularly in Raleigh & this meal far outweighs anything we ever order. It will continue to be on rotation in OIB! read more

Saturday night with live music - the place was packed! Good think I made reservations. All staff - very friendly. We had the meatloaf and the wedge salad. Both arrived in a timely fashion despite the amount of customers. The only issue I had was that the meatloaf was SUPER sweet... I could not eat more than two bites. Maybe it was an 'off' night? Not sure. I will go back but not order the meatloaf. read more

I had a good burger for lunch a couple of days ago, so we popped in for dinner. My wife had a salad she liked and I ordered a bowl of the beef stew special. When the "stew" arrived, I saw a few pieces of diced beef, carrots, onions and potatoes in a pool of watery brownness. This wasn't a stew, it was barely a soup. I asked if they had any bread or rolls to go with this and the server said they could toast a hoagie roll. Better than nothing. But it wasn't nothing. When the server brought the bill, that roll was a $3.00 extra charge (of which I was not informed) and to rub more salt in the wound there was also a "Non-cash" charge of $1.50 even though nobody asked how I was paying. read more

We were very surprised at how much we enjoyed this restaurant. We thought it was primarily a take out place but that's not the case at all. The food was fantastic! I had the shrimp scampi which was the creamiest I've ever had. They certainly didn't skimp on the shrimp! We'll be visiting again this week with guests who are coming to visit. Fantastic fish of the day (blackened amberjack with tropical sauce) - fish was perfectly cooked, presented well. Super friendly staff. Always love connecting with others in the bar, and if you go later in the evening it's a relaxed atmosphere! Really enjoyed my time there! read more

Ok....tried another new restaurant last night here at the beach. Trying to hit a new one each day. This was another WOW! I started with a pumpkin spice latte martini. Oh my goodness!!!! The martini was absolutely DELICIOUS!!!!! Mike had a local brewery oatmeal stout and it was great also. I ordered the grilled salmon with the apricot glaze and the chef veggies (it also comes with rice pilaf but I don't care for rice. Alyssa asked if I wanted double veggies or something. I said no that what was coming would be enough). It was soooooooo good!!! Mike had the special which was the shrimp burger. He chose the chipotle black beans. He really liked it. I did finally get a bite before he finished. It was different but really good. The service was great. Alyssa was very friendly and attentive. Another great choice!! read more

The food is was absolutely fantastic. In our party of 6 we had the grouper, filet, pork chop, shrimp creole, salmon with dill sauce and scallops with mushroom risotto. All i can say is WOW! Not one person in our group had anything bad to say. In fact, one person has issues with gluten and dairy and the chef actually came out to talk to us before we ordered to talk thru what adjustments he could make when cooking the food to accommodate for the allergies. Highly recommend. I wish we would have taken pics of the food. It looked as great as it tasted. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back!! read more

We enjoyed this little gem just off the island. Every person enjoyed their food. This was one of my favorite meals of our stay at the beach. We didn't have to wait for seating. The drinks were cold and the serving staff was attentive. The menu is somewhat limited and simple, but there's something for everyone and it tastes homemade. read more

This week we tried chicken enchiladas and the chicken parm take and bake. They were both delicious. Went back for dinner on site and had 2 more delicious meals (meatloaf and chicken Marsala). Staff was friendly, attentive and provided excellent service. It wasn't a busy midweek night so the restaurant was quiet. Definitely will return. read more

This was my first visit. The food was amazing! I had the meatloaf which was delicious! The chef's vegetables were cooked perfect and were fresh not canned or frozen. Everyone at my table got something different and all said the same thing. Delicious and would definitely come back. This is a hidden gem. The service was great as well. Let me start with this is my first 5-star review. I try to be utterly fair but honest. Chef and owner has great food and high standards. The food is excellent in taste and presentation. Had dinner here this evening. Service was polite and attentive. Not a very large menu but, food was cooked well and prompt. Had live music that was ok but a little too loud when trying to have conversations. The band was local and pleasant. If your looking for a very happening night out you might want to try another place. Overall a decent place to eat in a casual atmosphere. Had the meatloaf which came with mashed potatoes and I would absolutely give them a 5 start on that plate! read more

Our group of 12 ordered tonight from Feast OIB for the first time after hearing about it from a friend. I can't begin to say what a wonderful meal it was. We ordered the chicken souvlaki as well as an order of humus and chips. Everything was very tasty and it really is a bargain when you figure it costs about $15 a person. We found this place while staying for a weekend in Holden. Once seated it seemed multiple times we were forgotten, which is puzzling because we sat two tables from the hostess/entrance. No one came to check on us, refill waters, etc. They didn't bring our appetizer and didn't realize it until our main course arrived. This could have been caught if anyone checked on us at all. They brought the app after our food and said they would discount it. The food was just ok all around. Had to get our own to go containers because again, we were forgotten. Finally got our check after trying to find our waitress. Total app discount was $2 off. I wish we would have insisted on just not getting it. Nothing worth going back to this place. read more

We hired Eric and Feast OIB to cater food for our 30th wedding anniversary. Eric delivered the food on time, was easy to work with and the food was reasonably priced. Our hostess was fantastic the entire time, super attentive and on top of everything. You'd never guess how packed they were based on how smoothly everything ran. The fried yucca was perfectly crispy, the empanadas were loaded and flavorful, and the chicken and soup tied everything together. Honestly, one of those meals where you keep saying "yo this is GOOD" after every bite. We made it a priority to come back this trip, and now it's officially a tradition whenever we're in Sunset Beach. When we arrived, we noticed that there was a live band playing in the garage area and according to the schedule, this happens quite frequently, which was great to see the wine and tap room offers a wide variety of beer and wine. We tried two of the local IPAs that came from Wilmington, North Carolina. Overall, we had a great experience because we enjoyed the service, loved the atmosphere and loved the selection of beers. I am deeply disappointed to write this negative review about a restaurant that I have been a loyal customer of for the past two years. During this time, I have always enjoyed the same two meals: meatloaf with extra mashed potatoes and salmon with extra vegetables. However, my recent takeout experience was nothing short of a letdown, prompting me to reconsider my patronage. To begin with, the portions I received were ridiculously small compared to what I have been accustomed to in all my prior visits. Both the salmon and meatloaf appeared to be half their usual size, leaving me feeling unsatisfied and cheated. It is disheartening to see such a drastic decline in the quality and quantity of the food I once enjoyed. Adding insult to injury was the fact that my bill for the takeout order amounted to $52. Given the inclement weather with heavy rain and the emptiness of the restaurant, I decided to be generous takeout tip and left $60. However, I couldn't help but notice that there were six staff members seemingly idle and unoccupied (with the exception of two patrons). This lack of attentiveness and disregard for customer satisfaction further exacerbated my disappointment. Hoping to address my concerns, I took the initiative to call the restaurant and asked to speak with the manager. Instead, I was greeted by a person named Eric, who identified as the owner. While he did apologize for the subpar experience, his response lacked the sincerity and concern that I expected. Rather than showing genuine interest in rectifying the situation and salvaging our relationship, The owners attitude and mere apology left me feeling disregarded and undervalued as a customer. A restaurant of this caliber should understand the importance of customer satisfaction and the impact it has on their reputation. A proper response from management would have been to inquire about how they could make things right or provide any form of compensation for the disappointing experience. Unfortunately, this opportunity was missed entirely, leaving me with the impression that my patronage was taken for granted. It is with great regret that I say this, but as a result of this underwhelming encounter, I have decided to sever my ties with this restaurant. I had been a loyal and frequent customer, but the recent decline in portion sizes, lackluster service, and the disregard shown by management have shattered my faith in the establishment. To the management of the restaurant, please understand that the satisfaction of your customers should always be a top priority. In today's competitive food industry, it is crucial to deliver consistent quality and service to maintain a loyal customer base. Unfortunately, your failure to meet these expectations has resulted in the loss of a previously devoted customer.
