I would give this location zero stars if I could. I had a package that was supposed to be delivered yesterday. This morning, FedEx customer service confirmed that the package had arrived at this facility and advised me that I could pick it up in person. When I arrived, the front desk employee told me that package pickup was not possible and that I would have to wait until Monday for delivery. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told that customer service had provided incorrect information and that they could not retrieve my package. The explanation given was that they were "a small team" and did not have anyone available to get it. Terrible customer service. Use UPS, USPS, or another carrier if you have the option. read more

Really frustrating experience here. I called earlier in the day to ask about shipping boxes because I needed a fairly large box to ship a walking pad. Not every location carries boxes that size, so I wanted to confirm before coming in. The person I spoke with confirmed they had it. When I arrived, I waited in line for over 20 minutes since there was a long line and only one person working the counter. Once I finally got to the front, I was told they did not have the box and that I must have called the wrong location. I didn't. Sameera was the best help and she was able to get an international package I had sorted out in a short amount of time, she was friendly and this was the best help I ever received from FedEx. I was over at a different FedEx earlier and they just rejected my package and told me to print my own commercial invoice. For weeks I couldn't figure it out. Guess I should've read the reviews before coming here. Though it was on my way to work and I just wanted to quickly drop off a package. Thought just any location could manage that. I was wrong. Zero stars... I walked in. Completely empty. No bell to ring, nothing. I wait a minute thinking the door opening and closing may alert someone in the back. It may have, but they likely chose to ignore it. So then I loudly call out "hello anyone here?" a few times and wait. Nothing. Then I see a guy in the back through the door window come out from one of the back rooms, avoid looking my way and dart toward the back of the store into another room. I give him benefit of the doubt and wait another couple minutes. Nothing. So I leave. How disappointing this location is (don't just take my word for it. Look at the other recent reviews). If there was a zero, that would be my rating. I'm 78 years old with disabilities and the drivers refuse to follow instructions. They leave 40 pound boxes in the driveway instead of at the front door, despite the fact there is a sign that says specifically not to leave packages down there. The are either stupid or lazy, maybe both. I hate fedex. read more

Horrible. Stressful. Unreliable. I paid extra (3x) to have documents delivered by 8:30 AM. Turns out this facility doesn't even open until 8:30 and they just note they're running behind. So despite the 2+ star rating I like this place. Why? I can't always be home for shipments that require signatures like wine etc. It is way simpler for me to have the shipment held here and go pick it up rather than hang around for a 8am to 8 PM window of time. In terms of being an actual shipping center its pretty bare bones so you are better off having your stuff ready to go then expect an elaborate setup like a UPS store etc. The line can suck so come during an off hour if you can. Service is friendly and quick and there is plenty of parking. Pro Tip: have your tracking number ready read more

Sitting outside parked and had to take the time to post about my experience with Hector...brought in a bag of dog food that I needed to send back .. and he was nice enough to help me pick out an appropriately sized box and also helped me pack the box. There were no customers waiting ... he was very kind to help. He did not have to do that. He could've pointed me to the boxes and had me figure it out and purchase tape... he probably saw how clueless I was ... but nonetheless. I appreciated the time he took to help me. If I could select 0 stars, I would. This facility has failed to deliver a simple envelope that required a signature for nearly two weeks. I provided simple delivery instructions that a baboon could follow. Apparently, their drivers don't quite meet that criterion. I even downloaded their "Delivery Manager" app, and wrote in the instructions, "through the open gate . . .", etc. Each day I got a text saying the package couldn't be delivered because they couldn't get past the door which needs a code, or no one was there to accept, which was a lie, considering my wife was home each and every time. I was actually on the phone with her when I received one of these texts. I instructed them to not use the door and walk right through the wide-open parking lot gate to enter the complex. My apartment complex has nearly 200 residents who do receive FedEx deliveries. I know, I've seen them. How are they getting their packages if the drivers can't enter the complex? The other option was to drive to a neighboring town, Menlo Park, to pick up this envelope after 6:30 p.m., which is well after I leave work, so even picking it up on the way home wouldn't be possible. There is a FedEx literally a block from my house which they could have brought it to for easy pick up. They told me that the shipper's instructions did not allow for that, and they'd have to call FedEx to permit it. I found out from the shipper that that is also a lie. So, an all-around failure by FedEx. I will avoid using them like the plague for any future delivery needs. I suggest you do the same. read more

This service center is a joke. First, no one was at the front for a few minutes, no bells to ring or anything. No big deal, I get that, but the representative that "helped" was of no value to me whatsoever, and had a horrible attitude. Story time: I received a tag on the front of my building for a package that they did not even attempt to deliver to me (I was at my building all day) on Friday. Door tag stated they would attempt delivery again and if I wanted to sign to release the package, there was a spot for my signature on the tag, of course I signed and left at the front door so they could easily redeliver on Monday. I waited all day and finally tracked it with the door tag and it stated to go to the ship center for pickup after 6pm. I go to the ship center for pickup (20 minutes out of my way) and they requested ID, so I provide ID, but because the package was in my business name, they would not hand it over. (Mind you, this business is just a month old, so I don't have business cards yet, waiting for the debit card from my bank account to come in the mail, and this was part of me being able to identify my business in this package) Mind you, when I placed the order with the company, it stated that it was delivering to my name at my business address. I pulled up the Secretary of State in California business search and it has my name as the managing member. Nope, they wouldn't take it because it was on my phone, and refused to look it up from their computer, which would show the same information. I'm decent with computers, but in no way am I able to hack the secretary of state for this shipment. I will not be back to this service center and I hope I save someone a waste of a good 1 hour or more of their life. If my packages are left for pickup here, I will wait until they return to sender before returning to this facility. In general, I have had good luck with FedEx for the last 15 years of my life, with this experience at this service center, I will never choose to have anything shipped or delivered via FedEx again, and will encourage others to find alternate shipping methods. read more

This is the most frustrating app experience. I was trying to ship some heavy dumbbells and was sent here by a smaller fedex shop, saying they don't have sturdy box for these. I drove here and there is an obese employee eating snacks. And his reaction was ah oh when he saw me going in. Not interested to even stand up and told me I need to check which box fits and pack on my own. Also told me they don't have the sturdy type of box for these. This person really deserves an honest performance review, or it's FedEx that fails to train or motivate their employee? read more

Fedex couldn't even deliver to a proper residential address, so my package is lost and I had to file a credit card chargeback with the merchant. Don't ship with these guys. As bad as USPS has been they have never failed to deliver to a proper address, and UPS has never dropped the ball. read more

Just the worst FedEx facility - if your delivery is coming from there, you will not see correct/updated tracking info., it will not arrive on time &/or they will claim they tried and couldn't deliver it. Have never had issues with deliveries originating from any other center in the Bay Area, but there is an issue EVERY single time it comes from this Menlo Park location. read more

Dropped off an envelope at 4:35 pm and purchased a FedEx Overnight Envelope that was to be delivered by12/23 at 12:00pm. Paid 82.55 for this as it was critical that the package arrive on 12/23. FedEx not only didn't deliver the package as committed on 12/23 at noon it didn't arrive until 12/27 at 3:00pm. I called customer service which is located in Costa Rica an was quoted company policy that due to the time of year they weren't honoring their guaranteed service agreement. I could have chosen an overnight service from USPS for 27.00 received a better customer experience. I would highly recommend using any other shipping method other than Fed Ex. A company that charges what they do for an upgraded service that doesn't stand behind there performance agreement doesn't deserve customers to trust them with their business! read more

These people go out of their way to prevent customer service. They delivered me a motorcycle tire with no packaging, label stuck directly to the tire. Unfortunately the supplier shipped the incorrect one, so I added some cardboard around the tire to make it easier to ship back. The customer 'service' agent refused to accept it, saying it needed to be in a complete box despite them delivering the same loose unpackaged tire earlier that day. I asked for some cardboard to make it into a rectangular box shape and they refused, telling me they didn't have any!!! It was a shipping office full of shipping supplies, including hundreds of empty boxes! They also refused to accept the previous customer's ID, saying that the drivers license address didn't match the PO box address on the package, despite the name being the same. Frequently, they just toss my packages over my fence. Several times, the package has landed in a puddle in the rain. Its only 5 more steps to put in it the dry porch. read more

Simply horrible service. A driver leaves a note (twice) on the door that they could not deliver the package, not knocking on the door. The FEDEX driver who delivered to my neighbor told me to call this location. I was on hold for 48 minutes. Finally I hung up. FedEx has a horrible service during the pandemic. I wish the Government would fix problems with USPS so we could use them instead of this horrible company. read more

I do not recommend this FedEx. The one I usually go to in San Carlos helps you pack the boxes and the staff are super nice and helpful there. At this location, Staff was really short with me and not helpful. Had me pack and seal box myself without checking it to make sure it looked good to go. I will not go back here. OK, isn't the primary objective of a delivery service to deliver the package? Not for me today. We're home, but sleeping since we work into the wee hours (wheee!) So yesterday. AM delvery was attempted. "Max", (who I heard from the Menlo Park FedEx Center has had our route for a few years) Why just last month we had the same problem. The problem being we don't hear FedEx at-the-door so a doorknob hang tag notifies us delivery was attempted. Since it's a signature required (monthly) envelope, FedEx will make 4 attempts to deliver and of course, if I want to schlep to the shipping center between 5-8:30 PM, I can pick it up at the counter. But "Max" knocked yesterday (Thurs) and that was his 3rd attempt, He hung his hang-tag and was walking back to his truck. My darling wife yelled to him (bleary-eyed yes, but definitely had EYE-CONTACT with him)."Max" hopped in the truck to continue his deliveries. (This is called: "chasing-down the driver" according to the CS guy at Menlo.) But worse was calling their 800-GoFedEx number and the heavy-accented operator said she could not understand what I was trying to explain... (that we had eye-contact with the driver as he was walking to his FedEx vehicle but he chose to ignore it) Shouldn't phone operators understand English before accepting a job that requires English?) I'm a very easy-going person but she wanted me to know if I didn't go to the counter tonight, the letter would be returned to sender. So I asked to speak to someone else who COULD understand me. After 15 minutes on hold with jazzy music and those cloying announcements how wonderful FedEx is, I was patched through to a friendly CS guy at the Menlo Park Shipping Center. He reinterated that "chasing the driver" is not a complaint they will acknowledge since the driver might not hear the holler... or know that person yelling; "HEY, WAIT. . ." is their actual customer." I explained she was on our porch in front of the door he left 3 hang-tags on. They had actual eye-contact. Plus, last month the same thing happened and I apologized we sleep-in the mornings so we're home, we just don't always hear the door. So if it is "Max" who has had our route for two or 3 years, wouldn't he remember that? The sweet voice assured me then it might have been a different driver. I am going to tell this sender don't bother paying extra for AM delivery. Maybe FedEx is all friendly at the counter but the driver should have answered that situation of my sleepy wife hollering at him to come back. Especially since they had eye-contact. I asked after hearing our situation, can't you accommodate me? Deliver it tomorrow (Saturday)? "No, since delivery on Saturday is $25 extra for the sender. So our envelope is on its way back to the sender. read more

About 1/2 the time that FedEx claims to have attempted to deliver a package, its not true. Take today for example: I was tracking I was expecting and I noticed that, 10 minutes earlier, FedEx claimed to have attempted a delivery. I was sitting right next to the door and I didn't hear a knock. Nor was there a door tag from FedEx left behind. I called FedEx customer support and they said there was nothing they could do to deliver that day...and it's an overnight, rushed shipment for which a good price premium was paid. I never have these sort of issues with UPS and on the rare occasion that a UPS shipment has a problem, their customer support staff are a lot more helpful. I don't know if FedEx is that bad everywhere, but beware anything shipping through the Menlo Park office. read more

Over the holidays the FedEx driver left our box on the street at the base of our mailbox which contained thousands of dollars worth of camera equipment and which required a signature at delivery. If my son had not checked our mail for us, the box would undoubtedly have been stolen. He called FedEx Customer Service and they could not have cared less! They asked HIM who the driver was! How would he possibly know who it was? They made it sound like they didn't have any way to track down the driver! Pitifully poor service all around! AVOID! read more

FedEx is incompetent at delivering packages. Tell me what *is* the point of an "express" service if the package never actually arrives at your door? I could have sent it via book mail and it would arrive faster with less hassle. I get at least a few packages sent to my house every month, and yet somehow UPS and USPS manage to actually get my packages delivered every time. Yet each and every time a package is sent via FedEx, it gets returned to a facility for some reason with the puny excuse that the driver was unable to deliver it. But do we get left a notice? Does anyone contact us to let us know what the problem is? No. Of course not. Our package just sits at the facility while we have no idea why it hasn't arrived. FedEx sucks. They won't be getting any more of my business. This is a repeat post of a review of their Newark shipping center since I had the exact same problem with Menlo Park's. If I could I would give this place zero stars. Story is, I ordered a very expensive birthday cake for my husband all the way from New York. This cake also had sentimental meaning for us since we used to live there. It was supposed to arrive on Friday March 4, 2016. I was informed that the shipment was delayed to the very next day. Coming back to our apartment on the Saturday we see a door tag saying that they missed us. Ok fair point, but, the area where you sign to have them drop off the package was already signed! This was confusing as both my husband and I were out. I checked the tracking number and the package status said delivered. If that was the case, where was our package? Could it have possibly been stolen? After frantic discussions with our apartment leasing office and calling several different FedEx numbers, I was finally told that this store would call me back. Now its past 5 pm when they are closed and some guy calls me back. He says that sometimes it is protocol for the delivery guy to sign the door tag and leave the package. How does that even make sense, that defeats all reasons for having the proper person receive the package. Also the fact that the package didn't even require a proper signature and could have been dropped at our door in the first place! Then to top this off, that same delivery guy incorrectly inputted that the package was delivered when it was sitting in their store the entire time. They said since they are closed they cannot deliver until Monday. We just got the package this afternoon and the dry ice that keeps the contents fresh was all gone leaving an inedible mess of decomposed cake. I'm afraid of getting some sort of food poisoning due to the terrible customer service and incompetence of the staff at this FedEx. I wouldn't have made such a big deal if the cake wasn't perishable and for my husband's birthday. So Thank You Menlo Park FedEx for ruining my husband's birthday. I've never had a problem with FedEx delivering to my home. I live in a gated neighborhood and they have a list of all the codes for all the gated residences in their area. Thats due diligence, unlike some of the other carriers in the Bay Area (cough cough OnTrac). Today, I was waiting for my macbook pro (finally upgraded after six years) and heard the phone ring upstairs. I couldn't reach it in time and assumed that possibly the FedEx guy couldn't get in. I called the customer service line and sure enough, he had tried to get in but couldn't. I gave the rep the gate code and my mobile in the hopes the driver would turn around and come back. I wasn't expecting him to, but lo and behold, 30 minutes later I hear the FedEx guy trucking up the hill towards me! Apparently, the normal truck with all the codes was in service so he couldn't get in the normal way. I couldn't believe he actually came back within 30 minutes of my call!
