Stopped in here for a meet and greet evening with some colleagues, and it was pretty awesome. The food wasn't anything incredible, BUT that being said it was all very good. We had a bunch of appetizers including the nachos and pierogies which were both great, and I had the pulled pork for my entree which was also very good. Beer selection was nice, though they didn't seem to have as great of a variety of different types of beers (ie lighter ones, sours, IPAs, stouts, etc). Our service was excellent. Parking was a bit tricky, since it's in the downtown area. You can park in the lot directly behind it (if there are spots) and download an app to pay on your phone. You can either walk around to the front entrance, or use the back one and walk through the 'mall' area up the stairs and to the restaurant. Waited 90 minutes for a table for 8 at 5pm on a Saturday night. Get to the table and they are out of like 6 or 7 different items. No onions, tacos, bowls, pasta, and a few other I can't remember because the list was so long. That and the food we did get wasn't very good. Pretty disappointed with this place because I remember it being better. We started with an order of boom boom shrimp and nachos with grilled chicken. The shrimp were ok but not very flavorful. The nachos we got were missing the chicken and were so overcooked that you couldn't really eat it. I ordered the medium rare whiskey bbq burger. I even asked the waiter about the burger to make sure that it could be medium rare. What came out was a very dry, thin burger that was more well done than anything. It looked like there was no bbq sauce on it as mentioned in the menu so I asked the waiter and was told that "it's there it's just really thin." He did bring me a side of it and he was right. It was a very thin flavorless sauce. I ate it because I never send stuff back but it was not good. I was told the Reuben and the tacos were good. The beer was also good so that was a plus. read more

I have visited Brew works since they first opened. I love going here for lunch, even though I no longer eat meat. They made the best burgers in the Lehigh Valley area. All of the food served here is very good. I am not a beer person, but they do have a nice selection of wine, and cocktails. The atmosphere is relaxed, cool, hip, and trendy. I enjoy the scene, the staff are all very pleasant. If your in Bethlehem or Allentown definitely a place to check out. read more

Went here for some drinks and food. Both of the speciality martinis were amazing and the beer flight was a great deal as well ($12 for 6). We started with the poutine and pierogies as appetizers. Poutine was a little short on toppings but was good nonetheless. Pierogies were excellent but $9 for 5 is a tad pricey, also still great though. Entrees were the meatloaf sandwiches which were cooked perfectly and had great toppings. Decent service as well during a busy time. What a horrible experience! My friend and I came here to wine down and relax after a long hard day working on a hot, steep, and very high roof. I was about two drinks in when the bouncer came over to my table and told me that I was "cut off". I asked why and he said because I was "walking wavey". Never in my life was I cut off at a bar. I was sooo shocked over this because I know I wasn't drunk. Was I walking wavey? Maybe but I wasn't stumbling around plus it was dark in that bar and my legs were a little weak from being on the roof all day. I will never go back to that crap hole of a place. I was targeted by that bouncer for reasons other than not functioning properly at a bar. Maybe he had little man syndrome and wanted to exert his authority, I don't know. You know what you can (and should and must) order at Brew Works? Beer and cheese soup. I would have overlooked it on the menu had a Bethlehem resident at my table not pointed it out. This might just have been the best soup I've ever had the pleasure of consuming in my life -- if you're not counting the stuff my Italian grandmother churns out, of course. I'm overall a huge fan of Brew Works and their offerings. My first visit was had in 2012 while I was still in my anti-beer phase. That time, I ordered some drink that was likely served in a martini glass and chicken lettuce wraps, sat in the downstairs lounge and called it a night. It was really relaxing. My latest trip was on Saturday during a St. Patty's bar crawl. I was pretty pumped that Brew Works was on the list of stops, and was even more excited when the large group I was with decided to sprawl out at a few tables and order more sustenance than just alcohol. I didn't hear any complaints about the food around the tables. I ate the chicken fingers app as my main dish, which was a good move since that soup was pretty filling when also mixed with a day of beer consumption. And speaking of beer, I tried the "Attack of the Killer Kolsch" from their seasonal beer list. I've gotta say -- I wasn't the biggest fan of it, as it was a little too hoppy for me and I wasn't expecting that. Still, they have a great selection and I'd like to try a sampler one day. I love everything about this place -- the ambiance is that perfect mix of upscale, trendy, comfortable, and industrial. We were in the area (also at the Sands!) and decided to try this place for lunch. They had a great brunch menu with $3 bloody marys (spicy, cold and big!) and a special on martinis I think $5 but don't remember. The bloody marys were amazing! We sat on the street where they have about 8 tables and it was delightful. Great place to people watch and the day was perfect. We started with the best soft pretzels ever. So hot and dipped with a great cheese beer dip. I could have just had those but saved my half for my lunch. My husb and I shared a pork dish. It was pulled pork with kraut and mashed potatoes. It was delicious and so big! I took half home and ate it the next day. Service is great, the beer is cold and great choices. We filled our growler. I checked in and they sent us a $10 gift card off $50 on our next visit. We will be back as the area is very nice and lots to do and see! read more

Had a terrible experience this evening at the Brew Works. The service was ok but very slow. We ordered Philly Cheesesteaks but they came with no cheese and cold fries. My cousin ordered the French Dip and it was cold too. The manager didn't seem to care too much and the waitress just made excuses for the kitchen staff. They comped his dinner and he ended up eating nothing. Don't plan on ever going there again! Bethlehem has so many other GOOD places to eat. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere ! This brewpub has definitely got some character. I was in Bethlehem for work and went here for dinner so I went to up to the bar and go the last open spot so this was an obvious local hot spot. I looked through the menu and got the meatloaf which was pretty good with decent flavor but it didn't really wow me. I did appreciate the hefty portion since I didn't have lunch this day. The beer sample was also a must have since I was at a brewpub but the beer was no good I didn't like any of the beer they made but that's my personal preference and I'm not a beer connoisseur but this didn't do it for me. I like this place. It has a bunch of horrible reviews but you have to be a little smart about going here. Don't come with a bunch of people for a "nice meal". Come for a beer and a bite. DON'T sit at a table, sit only at the bar. Beer is a personal taste but I think their beer is excellent. We had a special New England IPA called Psychedelic Astronaut. It was a magical well balanced brewing accomplishment unlike any beer I have ever had. They have some thoughtful menu items (roasted beet wrap, anyone)? Cauliflower wings? Main best thing, the bartenders were SO nice. Patient, helpful about the beer. Give you a sample without asking even. I really like going there. Very simple and fun. read more

Reviewing for happy hour* Wow! 3 dollar craft beer, 4 dollar wines and 5 dollar cocktails which were all specialty. Definitely get the oatmeal stout if you're a stout person, hints of coffee in there too. The wing appetizer came with 5 and was 5 bucks. All the food is 5 bucks btw on happy hour. 4-6 Monday through Friday. Nachos were humongous. Not the best but the beer made up for it. I've had the chili there which was amazing and the buffalo chicken sandwich which was only decent. The atmosphere is lively, plenty of people having fun and they had some great music playing. So the food and beer at this place is good, but the service is consistently the worst. They are slow despite the traffic. We just moved to Pennsylvania and this is our second time and it amazes me. Well continue to come back for the food and beer, but let's get a manager that can improve the service or train them to be better. The waiter apologized profusely, however, the female brunette bartender was even worse, I ordered a beer and a water, she ga e me the beer no water. The other bartender looked at her mystified as she went and talked with some customers and he ya e me the water to which she exclaimed "I was coming back". The staff are nice and they try hard, funny thing, when they delivered each item to the table it was like if they snuck up on the table dropped down the food and went away without saying anything. I could rate this place a 5 purely on the service of Mikey, behind the bar. Friendliest bartender I have ever had. A quote from my friend "That dude is a LEGEND." Couldn't agree more. Give that man a raise!! The beers here are some of the best around. I always anticipate their pumpkin release. And I have a special place in my heart for the Blueberry Belch. Tonight I tried the Squishy Kitty. It's as lovable as the name suggests. My twin sister is leaving for med school, so my other sister and I decided to take her out to lunch as a last hurrah. We decided on Brew Works because I have been there before for drinks. The lunch and service was good. I ordered from their daily specials, a turkey burger and fries. It was good as far as turkey burgers go. My twin sister got the steak salad--also from the daily specials--and was satisfied that the steak was tender and cooked properly. My little sister got chicken tenders, which were like typical chicken tenders--nothing to write home about lol. For drinks, I ordered the Amarillo IPA on tap, which I found to be extremely good. I love IPAs, and this one was perfectly hoppy and aromatic. My sister ordered the Blueberry Belch, which she enjoyed, but I thought kind of had a sort of "vomit-y" taste to it. Curious about the desserts, some of which had a beer aspect to them, I ordered the Chocolate Porter Ice Cream. It was apparently churned with their signature porter, but I found the taste of it to be fairly undetectable. The ice cream was also a little icy. My sister ordered the ice cream float which consisted of vanilla ice cream in their signature oatmeal stout. I thought it sounded kind of gross, but it was surprisingly pretty good. The stout had nice chocolatey undertones to it, and the ice cream complimented that pretty well. Stopped by while in the area, chose strictly based on yelp reviews. We were happy with the choice, the beer is excellent so that needs to be on your list. Also enjoyed the pretzel appetizer which shouldn't be missed. I had the fried chicken while the other person in my party had the Shepard pie. The Hostess sits guests right next to one another in the upstairs dining area, even though there are plenty of tables available. This used to be one of our favorite places to go for a family dinner out. Up until a couple of years ago the menu was extensive and everything on it was incredible. I'm not sure why they chopped it down, but in the process they also eliminated A LOT of options for anyone with dietary restrictions. I do not eat gluten, dairy or eggs and was given this as my menu to choose from. It's simply regular menu items with the notation to remove sauce and/or bread. Pretty lame. Basically I ate a plain salad with plain grilled chicken for $13. We absolutely will not be going back. read more
