The primary reason I came to leave what was meant to be a positive review was to shout out the manager on site at the time of our meal, Magda. While we reserved a table for 9 a couple of weeks prior, when we arrived, our reservation hadn't been entered by the staff member who picked up the phone for me. Magda was super accommodating and was able to get us seated within 10 minutes on a very busy Saturday afternoon. If this review was just for her and the staff, it would be a 5/5. I want to stress, she was easily the highlight of our eating experience. The food, however, was incredibly mixed in quality and overpriced. As a table, we ordered the Tot'tine, Nachos, and Bang Bang Shrimp. The Tot'tine was easily the best thing we ordered all night, with great flavor and made with decent quality ingredients. The shrimp was okay, and there wasn't a ton of them. The nachos were incredibly disappointing, mostly plan chips with only a few of the ones on top actually catching any of the toppings. The toppings themselves were very uneven, with a whole, unchopped jalapeno somehow making it's way onto the plate with the other slices of jalapeno. When reviewing the specials menu, myself and 4 other people at the table saw a Ricotta Cavatappi Carbonara special that sounded really good. While you could get the pasta plain, various proteins could be added for an upcharge of between $6 and $14. Four of us ordered it with chicken (the cheapest option), and one ordered it with shrimp. When our meals arrived, I could immediately tell something was off; three of our meals came with the advertised cavatappi pasta, but two inexplicably had penne instead. Additionally, the guy who ordered the shrimp didn't have a cheesey cream sauce at all, instead having more of an oil-based sauce. All of us without saying anything used salt or pepper, as the meal was relatively flavorless. While there was carbonara bits in the meal, they added little other than texture. The cheese sauce was thin and there was very little of it. To me, the meal felt like something I could have gotten out of a box from the super market and was a huge let down. Other folks at the table ordered other meals, and most folks said their food was good or okay, but there was a general vibe of disappointment in the meals themselves. It's worth noting that all of our food came out luke-warm at best, which only helped to accentuate the low quality of the meals. I understand that they were busy, even at 2 pm in the afternoon, but the experience of the food itself was pretty brutal, especially when you're paying $22 for a mediocre pasta. While I really appreciate the staff accommodating us on such short notice, our experience with the food itself was pretty bad, and I honestly wouldn't return in the future. It's a shame, as years ago I had my wedding party come here after our ceremony, and it feels like the quality of food has dipped dramatically over time. read more

Stopped in for lunch the last Sunday of Musikfest. It was that busy and was seated within a few minutes. The waiter was nice and took our order. Drinks arrived a little longer than expected. Placed our food order and it arrived quickly. Had the chicken and waffles with sweet potatoes. The chicken was ok but fries were all over. Some were hard and some were cold. The food choices seemed lackluster and was ill prepared. Maybe a new menu would help. read more

Been here once, ordered take out 3 times. The beer list is good but didn't match up with what's on the website. I went over it ahead of time to make ordering faster. They didn't have my first choice anymore. The server recommended something else. Came back and said they were out of that one too. They only had one beer of each style so my third choice was not my preference at all, but ended up being very good. It was some kind of spicy Christmas ale. The food is hit or miss. The Mac and cheese is good but a little bland. There are a couple cheeses listed that made me expect it would be rich and smoky. It was a good, basic mac and cheese. No depth. Fries are fine. I got a beet salad that was ok but the greens were a bit soft and there was almost a whole onion on there. Dressing didn't look good so I left it off. I'm happy because they gave me a lot of beets and feta. The nachos were bad. The chips looked like tostitos and were obviously not house made. They put diced green bell peppers on their nachos. It makes them look fresh but taste bitter. They apparently pickle their own jalapenos, but they're made as sweet pickles and they aren't spicy. (For reference I don't think Tabasco is spicy but sriracha is spicy.) No queso. Instead lumpy half melted jack cheese. There were three big masses of dried cheese forming a nacho bezoar sitting atop a pile of naked chips. You either need to rip the chips out or pick it up and take bites like out of an apple. I could taste bottle lime juice in the pico de gallo. Sort of flat, not tangy enough. I probably should have known better than to order nachos here. The cheese fries had a similar problem. They need to make a cheese sauce instead of baking shredded cheese. Or, use cold cheese and sour cream. The jalapenos were so sweet that I thought they'd mislabeled at jar of sweet peppers. I called them to let them know they accidentally put sweet peppers on their nachos. They were polite and took my complaint seriously. But then they told me that's what the jalapenos were supposed to taste like. Bottom line, I would get beer here again but be worried they wouldn't have any kinds I liked. server did not know noodle options. said we have "swirly noodles." server did not serve brewchetta with a spoon even after commenting it didn't come with a serving utensil We never got a spoon. Brewchetta had red peppers in it, which I am highly allergic to, and it was not listed on the ingredients in the menu, it was just some over, seasoned tomatoes over some very stale old over seasoned bread that I could not eat And was too spicy. The martini I ordered was a half an inch empty. I addressed the concern twice and was told that's the way it is so I did not accept the drink. The woman across the table from us had a properly poured and served martini so I don't know what the problem was. I asked for house vodka and it was Grey Goose $ My husband said the meatloaf was OK But didn't eat much which is not like him. Everyone else seemed happy with their meal choices. French fries could have been in the fryer longer as they did not have any color to them or crispness. Oh, after refusing the martini, we decided to order a picture of beer which we were told was not able to be ordered by the pitcher even though it was on the menu so that had to be addressed twice. We had to ask three times for glasses and when we finally did get glasses, they were not beer glasses they were plastic cups that looked like a beer glass. I even asked for oranges slices for the beer which it's served with and never got those either. I know this bc when we were told no pitcher my husband got a real glass with an orange slice. I really should give this place a one star. It was the cheesesteak and chicken cheesecake that salvaged it to a two. If you ask for mayonnaise brace yourself for the squeeze bottle being served vs a dish/small ramekin type bowl. read more

I have been coming to this restaurant for over 15 years. I went to college in the area and it was always a go to with friends (and would be the first recommendation for anyone coming to Bethlehem). Unfortunately the last visit (2 days ago) was pretty unacceptable and quite deviant from the standard I've grown to expect over the years from this place. For context, my mom, 14 year old daughter and I visited on a Friday for an early lunch when the restaurant wasn't very busy. We were seated at the bar booth area. I ordered the Cobb salad with chicken, my daughter ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with mashed potatoes, and my mom ordered a burger. 3 factors contributed to the 1 star review... 1) There was a live wiggling bug in my daughter's buffalo chicken wrap (picture attached). 2) The bug in her food was handled poorly by staff. When we brought it to our server's attention, there wasn't even an apology. It was just swiftly taken away and we weren't even asked if we wanted it to be remade or we wanted something else. We waited for at least 10 minuets before we were able to get our sever's attention to tell him that my daughter had lost her appetite for the bug wrap and wanted something different. We waited another 15+ minuets for her to get the chicken fingers she wanted instead. She sat there and waited almost 30 minutes total for a replacement when she had already lost her appetite by finding a bug in her food. Then on top of it, they didn't even take her meal off the bill. I feel like that's the least they could have done after the whole experience. At this point we just wanted to get out of there so we paid and quickly left thinking the unpleasant experience was over but.... 3) My daughter and I ended up getting sick shortly after. We had eaten nothing out of the ordinary besides this meal and also are very healthy. So all signs point to out very unfortunate meal. Old chicken, lettuce not being washed, food not stored properly....who knows...but had trust for this place prior to this experience. Sadly it seems to have gone downhill. New management, new owners, off day? Not sure, but it's not the same consistently good food and service that I knew Brew Works for many years by.... read more

My fave lunch place ! I often come for a quick bite and a drink. Never disappoints the bartenders and waitresses are always amazing

Beer flight was good, Service was lacking everything, from speaking so we could hear what the server was saying, to checking in on us only once. Ordered pretzel appetizer and Brewben sandwich. Brewben sandwich showed up and was gristly but ok. No extra plate because we were sharing and still no pretzel. Needless to say we said don't bother bringing the pretzel as we are now done eating. Had to ask for extra plate and ketchup for the fries. No surprise, the plate was a saucer and it was dirty. Bottom line, if you want some ok beer go here. If you want food and good service, go somewhere else. read more

We've been here a few times over a decade and always enjoyed. DH always liked the beer selection. Wood floors steel fixtures but comfortable seats. Staff was just right- we had Ivan serving us. I had ricotta stuffed gnocchi-special for the night- nice creamy sauce around little pillows and a little apple in there to sweeten the Parmesan. I ate too much of the total-tine starter to get more than 3 bites. Enough left over for both of us tomorrow. He has the meatloaf sandwich from the regular menu- good -close to my meatloaf! Nice area to shop around and stay overnight. EV charging in the parking garage a couple blocks away. read more

First time in a long-time last week for two things: 1. Attending Musikfest 2. Going to the Brew Works When I say a long time, I'm talking a solid decade at least on both. I suppose the upside and the downside like the old Bob Seger song, Still the Same, is that both things are still the same. What the means is that I swear the menu basically is the same last week as it was in 2010 or in 2000. Somewhat that's a good thing but I think there is an underlying problem here. The problem is that the whole operation here seemed tired. While things still look fine, (even though the rear seating area is kept dark enough that I did see another table use the flashlight on their phone to read the menu) when we walk in there are three staff members at the host stand all not paying attention while we just stood there for a minute or two, after being seated it was a solid ten minutes until we got a menu and then five more plus until our order was taken. At this point we're already knockin' twenty minutes in a restaurant that was generously speaking 1/2 full (realistically it was less). Bavarian Pretzels - Smoked Meatloaf Sandwich - The Burger The pretzels were easily the best thing. Super doughy, but nicely salted and the beer and cheese soup dipping sauce is fantastic. The other two would best be described as dryer than dry. The meatloaf had almost none of the "secret sauce" it's supposed to come with and the burger was ordered medium yet came out fully grey center and charred. Between the painfully slow service times and food that isn't being cooked to order and/or with what the menu states it should have, why bother? I know people dig the beer they make here and that's nice but that's irrelevant to me. I mean maybe that's part that's changed here. This place in the collective has sort of given up which is why in years gone by during Musikfest it would have been packed versus what we experienced which was a ghost town. read more

At the door, the redheaded ID guy was nice but I couldn't understand all the rules. I was just there for dinner but hey, I understand he was just doing his job. Our server was ok. I can't complain. Food was mediocre. Fries were not hot. Cole slaw was runny. Fish sandwich was EXCELLENT except I wouldve left out the Cajun tartar sauce. The bread was INCREDIBLY fresh and soft. We've been here a few times before. The food is consistent, and the beer is very good. Service is a hit or miss depending on where you're seated. So the newest arrival is "This is not for you, Karen!" Great name and very good beer. 6.3% alcohol. Then the highly popular "Blueberry Belch!" 4.2% alcohol. Very refreshing! The third 5 ounce pour I am trying is "Tropical Umbrella." 6.6% alcohol I even got a Hard Seltzer sample! Quite yummy. It's great to see a socially distanced full bar. And fun to be a part of. We stopped in for a brew but ended up staying at the bar for dinner. What a great atmosphere! They had cool Christmas music playing the entire time! Our bartender was so friendly and attentive and busy!! Great job to her, (sorry we forgot her name) We enjoyed a 5oz Steelworks porter. It had a creamy, not too sweet taste. We followed that up with a pint of their Rude Elf. A nice amber, with strong notes of holiday spice. We even bought 4 cans to take home ! For dinner we had the French onion soup which has a nice cheese top and came in a crock, hot and bubbly. We also had the hot wings which were amazing! read more

Meh...your standard run of the mill small town breweries with mediocre bar food. It wasn't awful, but there wasn't anything that made it stand out either. Large menu, plenty to choose from and beers we okay for me. It was a busy Saturday night, all COVID guidelines were being followed. We grabbed a beer from the bar and waited outside while we waited for our table. Wait wasn't bad, told 35-40 minutes, but more like 15. Every year we go to Bethlehem for the music festival which is absolutely amazing. And every year we stop here to eat and grab some really good beer. We have been doing this for probably the past eight years and I hate to say it but each visit has gotten progressively worse. The food is decent enough this time my boyfriend went with the shrimp tacos and I did fish and chips. I have to say for the price that he paid it was kind of small what we received. He literally got three tacos no rice no sour cream nothing extra. I got two small pieces of fried fish which while they were delicious definitely was not enough and I don't even eat much. My french fries look like they had been reheated 10 times over. Our waitress was kind of a mess she seemed very confused we had ordered a salad to start and then our food comes out without the salad and she walks over and says oh do you just want me to cancel it because the kitchen forgot to make your salad. It almost felt like we were annoying her. I had to ask her three times for a ketchup and twice for a glass of water. I could've understood if it was busy but the place was mostly empty. We definitely agree that on our next visit to the music fest we're gonna try a different restaurant maybe stop here for a beer has their beer is very good but that's going to be about it. read more

Beet salad with salmon in an incredibly small bowl. 3/4 of the small bowl was lettuce. If i had tried to eat it the salad would have been all over the table. I asked for and received a flat plate. The beets were listed as roasted, they were canned slices. The blue cheese crumbles never appeared. A few nuts and small slivers of red onion.. it was a waste . Came here last night with a party of 8 for dinner. First off I don't drink beer but everyone else did. They all tried different beers and everyone seemed to enjoy them. The food was outstanding. I had the Chicken Cheese stake with their coleslaw instead of fries and it was delicious. Overall everything was delicious and everyone enjoyed their entrees and desserts. I have been going here since it opened. I will never ever go back! The bartender and the owner were absolutely horrible to my daughter while she was a customer there doing work. Totally unacceptable behavior from the bartender and the owner. There are way too many good place to eat in Bethlehem to Go there. The food is only ok. They lost a customer of over 25 years!!! I've been here several times and honestly the place never disappoints. The food is fantastic, the beers made in house are some of the best on this side of PA, and the service is always timely and accompanied with a smile. I highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for a good beer and a meal to make the stop. read more

Average experience and nothing special but good enough food. I got the Cobb salad which was a very nice portion, while others at the table got a French Dip sandwich and a chicken sandwich. Everyone seemed to enjoy what they got. The service really wasn't great though (I am giving them the benefit of the doubt that it was due to the fact that the kitchen was in the back and we were sitting outside in the front) but we ended up going into the building to track down our check as we were waiting to leave. I do think the prices were reasonable for the portion size ($10-12 for the sandwiches and $13.50 for the salads). Not sure I would go back as I like trying other restaurants and it wasn't over the top but did have a very broad menu so good when meeting with a party made up of different tastes. read more

Always a great place to eat. Lots of menu options. Service tends to be on the slow side (it looks like waitstaff have tables in many areas, so more of a management issue) Great place to bring kids, as it's on the loud side so they wont bother other diners. When in the area this place is a quick stop. There's so much seating so there's never been a wait. I've never really seen them super busy. There were three of us and we ordered beer, shared an appetizer and each ordered an entree. Our server Shane B was super nice and friendly. The cauliflower wing were good, our friend enjoyed his buffalo chicken Mac and cheese, the burger w/fries was good and the Neopolitan flatbread pizza with caramelized onions added was super boring and disappointing. The food is hit or miss. Don't go expecting something awesome bc it's pretty basic. The beer is usually good and the service can also be hit or miss, but this time it was good. We spent $93.27 before tip for 4 beers, one appetizer and three meals. read more

Bar Only The 5 Stars is solely for the customer service of bartender Mike. He was very attentive, knowledgeable and even helped us find seating at the bar while it was very crowded! The beer was also delicious! I had the Hop'solutely, Hop Explosion, and who could resist a beer with a name like Pootie Tang's Belt. Good stuff!
