Felt a bit like a culture shock? That's not necessarily bad. Just very.. conservative views on table if you get the drift. Ignoring that, it has a cute theme going, friendly wait staff, and neat trains above. Food ordered was delicious. This was the first restaurant I had been during the pandemic where none of the wait staff was wearing masks. I'd soon find out this was a common theme there & Amarillo in general. This compared to San Antonio, where all of the places I've eaten at and even drive-thru had masks. I'll point out that it was not mandated by governor at this point. It's a fun, clean atmosphere with cool decorations, especially the train that travels around the top of the restaurant from the ceiling and a good location. My husband and I have been here twice and we absolutely LOVE Feldman's. They have the best ribs I've ever had. They were so tender and full of flavor. Their loaded mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, French fries, and other sides are also delicious. My husband got the chicken fried chicken and said it was one of the best he has had. This place is great because their service is very timely. They took our order and the food came quickly, even though there was a softball team there as well. What a great find! Cute decor and friendly staff. Everything we tried was delicious. So much sounded good we went with the Pick 3 so we could sample. I ordered a Caesar salad, a cup of chili and the Chicken Fried Steak Spud. I expected mini bowls but nope. My Caesar was a full sized bowl and so tasty I shared with my husband. Crisp, fresh lettuce and tossed with just the right amount of dressing. Chili came with a side of grated cheese and fresh chives and was delish as well. Then a full sized potato decked out with a generous serving of chopped chicken fried steak and served with a side of gravy. Mine was all wonderful. Husband chose the tortilla soup which was jam packed with veggies and savory shredded chicken. He also ordered a 1/2 French Dip , lots of tender sliced beef , great aju and I swear those had to be in house cut fresh potato chips. His Taco Salad spud was even larger than mine and came covered in queso , taco meat and garnished with fresh tomatoes. We have been very impressed by the quality of food served the past year at Feldman's. We've tried various menu items and none have disappointed us. The catfish and chicken fried steak are two of our favorites. It's our local go to place for comfort food especially when guests come to visit us. The wait staff has been very friendly and attentive as well so pat on the back to management, kitchen staff and all the wonderful wait staff. Nice menu variety and fair prices. Drive up window on back side for call in orders which is also nice. Would highly recommend if you haven't tried it yet. read more

Feldman's is a great place for Sunday dinner! We had the chopped steak with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli, the French-dipped sandwich, and club sandwich with homemade potato chips at our table and it was all good. The hamburgers are really good, too. Never have room for dessert! The prices are reasonable and service is great. I was impressed by how fast we were seated on a Sunday afternoon. The average wait time is 15 minutes even on a busy day. The restaurant is casual with lots of fun stuff to see, including model trains running around the ceiling and a wall of clocks running, well, the wrong way. How can anyone resist a name like Feldmans Wrongway Diner? Gillian's Island reference aside, this was a great diner! We stopped on our way out of Palo Duro Canyon. I had the ribs, baked potato, and fried okra. It was exactly as expected and as good as I've had anywhere. Full bar, a variety of beers, and an elevated electric train for the kiddos to watch as it circles the ceiling. Very informal. Not loud. Family-friendly. Completely accessible. We recently made a stop in Canyon, Texas and the hotel staff recommended this place to us. We ending up eating here for several meals. Everything we had was delicious. My favorite was the homemade potato chips. My husband liked everything. You can't go wrong here...even tho the name is Wrong Way. Last ate here over 15 years ago. Food was memorable so when staying overnight in Canyon, we went here for dinner. We all got the Lighter portion of CFS and it was authentic and delicious! This was an interesting place for a Friday night out. It was a bit rustic with all types of humorous memorabilia on the walls, and little trains zooming overhead. The whole place was jumping, but we ( my son and I) seated ourselves very quickly in the lounge. Many people, who were waiting, were larger groups. The waitress was very nice and accomplished her tasks very efficiently. The food was presented nicely. I had the Manager's Special of poblano chicken soup, a club sandwich, and homemade potato chips. I've never had a bad experience at Feldman's and I've been several times. The food is always fresh and the service is great. The prices are decent; it's definitely worth the quality of food. This is down-home cooking that is comparable to real home cooking (maybe even better depending on who's cooking). The Tortuga's Chicken is always a good pick, as well as chicken-fried chicken. All of their sides are good: mashed potatoes, broccoli and rice casserole, fries, etc. Usually we get seated quickly, unless it's on a Sunday afternoon, then you may have to wait about 15 minutes. And in response to Kathleen's comment, the "lighter side" part of the menu just means the same dishes, but smaller portions, which is great because the normal portions are huge and sometimes just too much. read more

This is by far the best Chicken Express I've ever been to. Great food and employees are very courteous.

After 4 hours of hiking, all I wanted was the biggest dinner ever. This place did not disappoint. Great space in the middle of canyon ( Looked like it would be right at home in austin or other larger cities.) A train ran across the ceiling, tons of clocks and movie posters filled the walls. We regularly eat at Feldman's... once a week or so when we're in Canyon. Can't say we've ever had a bad experience. Service always good; clientele is small-town-friendly. Decor and atmosphere (as others noted) is a unique theme fully carried out in perfect detail. Good, solid food... Family and kid friendly. Food is down home comfort food with names matching the Wrong-Way theme. There's nothing super special about the food--no one in the back making everything from scratch and no Michelin stars. However the menu is a solid blend of fried/grilled, sandwiches, burgers and wraps, full dinners, salads, and sides. Dependably good. Nutritional information, unfortunately, is not available; neither at the diner nor on their web site (http://www.feldmansdiner.com) despite numerous requests to provide. If you're vegan, give this one a pass. Vegetarians will find suitable choices on the menu but Feldman's isn't making a name for itself as a vegetarian destination. Meat lovers have plenty to choose from among beef, chicken, and seafood options. Desserts are solid and the fried pickles are worth a taste... at least once. You could drive much farther to get a little better, more unique menu but there's nothing bad here, the service is good, and the family friendly ambiance is sure to please. read more

This place caters the Texas Musical dinner in the Palo Duro park. At $15 a head, we expected some decent food and a fun atmosphere. We were sorely disappointed. The buffet room was through filthy screen doors and the cramped room was an oven inside. You grabbed your crappy styrofoam plate and flimsy utensils as you came in. The website describing the buffet implied you would have a larger range of choices. There were 3 types of meat total(chopped brisket, pulled pork, and sausage), beans (that they were literally dumping straight out of bags they clearly microwaved into the serving trays), coleslaw, and potato salad (both clearly mass produced messes obtained from sysco or the like, not homemade as one would expect). The servers slopped your "choice" of meat on your plate with little ceremony and a grunt. There was a bag of cheap white bread left open for you to have some if you wanted....which we declined but the flies seemed enthused. The dessert choices were either cherry or peach cobbler served in tiny styrofoam containers with lids. The cobblers were both awful and, like the sides, obviously obtained from cheap food suppliers. The meat was decent and that's the best thing I could say about the whole experience. The staff ranged from vaguely polite to outright rude. One staff member even made very audible rude comments to her coworker about my daughter's appearance as she was walking away from the drink station. My 20 year old daughter's self confidence has taken a nose dive in the last year as she has been in and out of hospitals and finally diagnosed with Lupus, Diabetes, and Sjogren's just 6 months ago. She absolutely did NOT need that snotty girl (who, btw, was utterly bovine and not even in the same league as my daughter) judging her. Only some of the tables were in the shade and the fans were completely inadequate to make us even remotely comfortable. And the staff was not at all interested in cleaning the tables or seeing if we needed refills. Our table was sticky and had food pieces that had clearly been there since at least the day before on the ground underneath. We had to arrive 2 hours early and absolutely sweltered in the heat waiting for the show. The dinner and musical were intended to be the highlight of our vacation and have turned out to be the low point. Do yourself a favor and skip Feldman's. It really is the wrong way. read more

The fried pickles are amazing. The chicken tenders are ~good, but not great. Definitely not better than the chicken being served across the parking lot at Chicken Express. I suspect a lot of their food is just warmed up frozen stuff they got from a food supplier like Ben E. Keith. I've experienced a wide range of service here, but typically it leans more on the disappointing side. They wait staff as a whole could use some thorough professional training. When I come here it's at the suggestion of others. They do have good sweet tea, always a point in favor in my eyes. The sides are often good. I'd recommend eating elsewhere of just coming through Canyon. Even its meager offerings have better things to be had. read more

We live in Amarillo & drive to Canyon every few weeks to visit Feldman's. I LOVE the Tortugas Chicken! It is a battered chicken breast with queso & pico de gallo on top. I always order the lunch portion (they let you order it at night & on weekends) and it is still plenty of food! My husband really likes the catfish & the portion is monstrous! This place is great! The service was excellent, and quick. It was maybe 10 minutes from the time we ordered (we all got the chicken fried steak, one of the best I've ever had btw) before we were served our dinner, and everything on the plate was amazing. The building itself is also pretty cool, it had a rustic style and the atmosphere it created was very enjoyable. All in all, it was just about the best restaurant dining experience you could ask for, and you get it for a fair price! I would highly recommend Feldman's to anyone and everyone! P.S.
