We weren't sure about this place when we were leaving Palo Duro Canyon State Park and wanted to stop somewhere to get a bite before hitting the road. We were most pleasantly surprised. The food choices were broad and interesting. I ordered the Green Chili Chicken sandwich with a side of fried okra and my husband ordered the California Burger with a side of chips. Both were satisfying and large enough to sustain us until we got home seven hours later. Husband kept stealing my okra and I kept going after his chips (made in house) -- which should tell you they were both good. In addition to the food, the service was good, though the place wasn't that crowded when we arrived. It started filling up just when we were leaving. Decor is kitschy and I enjoyed the model train that makes its way around an elevated track. (Yeah, I'm that kind of person.) Definitely a worthwhile stop when you're in the area or driving through. I'd definitely return if we make another visit to Palo Duro. read more

We stopped in because the location was convenient, but we're really happy to have been here. The eclectic design, the full menu (and drinks!), And the server were all exactly what we needed to end our lovely day out. We had sweet tea, Cranberry Cooler, Sea Breeze, Smothered Tips, and Fried Pork Chops. The drinks were light and refreshing, the sweet tea was southern style (sweet!) and perfect, the salads came with a nice thick Ranch dressing (our choice), the macaroni & cheese was creamy and delicious, the baked potato was perfectly cooked and not at all dried out, the pork chops were boneless juicy perfection, and the steak tips were delicious (gravy was in the salty side though). I'll start off by saying not a bad place to stop. I've been here a few times as a resident in canyon and the food isn't bad. It's not by any means stellar but it's good food. If you come here you go for the experience as it's a cool quirky place with satisfying food. It's an all around good place but nothing worth 5 stars. We have other places we'd rather go and really only come here when we have visitors. I like the fries, the Mac and cheese is really good and the fried catfish and burgers are pretty good too. read more

I did start to use this restaurant again to see if anything had improved. It has not improved. My second order was wrong and the staff is very rude and flat out incompetent. The manager is only useful for refunds. He does not care or acknowledge anything. If they do not care what they put out on plates or how customers are treated I guarantee they don't care what goes into the slop they serve. read more

The atmosphere was wonderful. Great server - my husband that she had the perfect accent for the region. But we all agreed that our food was okay at best. My son said he hamburger was just too much cheese. My husband and daughter thought they had better chicken fried dinner elsewhere- Ranch Hand outside Cleveland, TX. We were looking for a diner to stop at on our drive through Amarillo. We found this place 15 mins south in Canyon. Worth the drive. Was in Canyon for a class at WTAMU and wandered in to Feldman's for lunch. I immediately appreciated their effort to fight COVID. The staff members were all wearing masks and they were on it with cleaning. Kristy arrived to the table quickly and was a fantastic server. She was very pleasant and took great care of me. The Rancha-Q chicken sandwich was the best chicken sandwich I have ever eaten! I don't come to Canyon often, but I'll be back for another Rancha-Q during my next visit. This is a great family place. Trains run around the top with amazing ambience and the food is fast for freshly made.

Love this place & honestly I don't come here often enough. Never had a bad experience with the food or staff. Some of the best barbecue you'll find in these parts. My Mom swears by it. :-) Someday I may try the Big Lebowski but today it's the nachos. The atmosphere/ambiance is wonderfully Texas comfort. Relaxed. Charming. Makes you feel at home. First, this is a weak 4* as we had some hiccups but, also had some very good things in our 2 trips here while visiting Palo Duro Canyon. Chicken Fried Steak, could have used a little more pounding out, a tad too thick but a good cut of meat that was fairly tender. Mashed taters good and green beans OK. Fried Macaroni Cheese Balls good but was just too much food. Wife's catfish good, cole slaw outta sight. Her peach cobbler, in a tallish narrow bowl not so good. Caaned peaches, ordinary vanilla ice cream (Blue Bell ain't THAT expensive folks and, this IS Texas). My Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie sounded better than it was. Still good but same blah ice cream made it less than great. Next night, Smothered sirloin tips with bell peppers and onions over rice a disaster. Everything cooked in grease, no gravy, just brown grease. Tips were OK, pink inside and pretty tender and lean. But the grease permeating everything.... Cole Slaw and Mac N Cheese very good. Wife had 3 sides, Okra, Loaded Tater, and steamed Brocolli, all very good. This would be a solid 4* were it not for the Beef tips. read more

After a Father-and-Son camp out with my son & another Father-and-son at Palo Duro Canyon, we were ravenous for some home-cooked goodness. This sounded like the place to go. First off - bonus points for getting us in with only a 15min wait on a Sunday at noon on the worst day of the year to eat out: Mother's Day. Surprisingly modernly styled interior. The boys gotta kick outta the 2 trains overhead. Overall, food was fairly Meh-like. Probably not as good as I think because I'd eaten nothing but junk food and snacks the whole day before. The boys scarfed down their chicken strips & fries. The onion-jalapeno fried stick appsetizer was hot and crispy, but on the small portion size, and not much flavor. Friend had the sirloin steak which was "ok". I had the mesquite burger. Slightly better than a fast food chain burger, nothing special. Of course, this is being compared to 3 Kick-Ass burgers I just ate 2 weeks ago in Fort Worth. I'll try another place there inCanyon before coming back here. Friendly servicd though. read more

We stopped on a whim and glad we did. Most everything is home cooked. And since it is, I'm sure there's going to be times it might vary. We were very pleased with the flavor and quality if the food (light chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak) Waitress was very friendly but not so much that she was in the way. She saw to the needs we had without interrupting constantly. Desserts were the best. Homemade! My husband said it's the best peach cobbler he has ever eaten. And he should know. Felt a bit like a culture shock? That's not necessarily bad. Just very.. conservative views on table if you get the drift. Ignoring that, it has a cute theme going, friendly wait staff, and neat trains above. Food ordered was delicious. This was the first restaurant I had been during the pandemic where none of the wait staff was wearing masks. I'd soon find out this was a common theme there & Amarillo in general. This compared to San Antonio, where all of the places I've eaten at and even drive-thru had masks. I'll point out that it was not mandated by governor at this point. What a great find! Cute decor and friendly staff. Everything we tried was delicious. So much sounded good we went with the Pick 3 so we could sample. I ordered a Caesar salad, a cup of chili and the Chicken Fried Steak Spud. I expected mini bowls but nope. My Caesar was a full sized bowl and so tasty I shared with my husband. Crisp, fresh lettuce and tossed with just the right amount of dressing. Chili came with a side of grated cheese and fresh chives and was delish as well. Then a full sized potato decked out with a generous serving of chopped chicken fried steak and served with a side of gravy. Mine was all wonderful. Husband chose the tortilla soup which was jam packed with veggies and savory shredded chicken. He also ordered a 1/2 French Dip , lots of tender sliced beef , great aju and I swear those had to be in house cut fresh potato chips. His Taco Salad spud was even larger than mine and came covered in queso , taco meat and garnished with fresh tomatoes. It's a fun, clean atmosphere with cool decorations, especially the train that travels around the top of the restaurant from the ceiling and a good location. My husband and I have been here twice and we absolutely LOVE Feldman's. They have the best ribs I've ever had. They were so tender and full of flavor. Their loaded mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, French fries, and other sides are also delicious. My husband got the chicken fried chicken and said it was one of the best he has had. This place is great because their service is very timely. They took our order and the food came quickly, even though there was a softball team there as well. It was busy when we went but we still had a great experience. We also like that there is a call in and drive thru option. Great for when we want to eat in! read more

We have been very impressed by the quality of food served the past year at Feldman's. We've tried various menu items and none have disappointed us. The catfish and chicken fried steak are two of our favorites. It's our local go to place for comfort food especially when guests come to visit us. The wait staff has been very friendly and attentive as well so pat on the back to management, kitchen staff and all the wonderful wait staff. Nice menu variety and fair prices. Drive up window on back side for call in orders which is also nice. Would highly recommend if you haven't tried it yet. read more
