We enjoyed it. The atmosphere was good for my kids. They loved watching the trains. I ordered the country fried chicken. It was delicious. I also enjoyed crisp broccoli and home made mashed potatoes. We stopped by on our way back from Palo Duro Canyon and were not disappointed. We found warm and friendly service, great drink deals, and a simple but pretty patio area - outside is even dog friendly!!! Ordered a ribeye with the house salad. When the salad came out it was old and the lettuce was brown. The ranch was decent though. I had to order extra ranch to cover the salad so i could half way attempt to eat it. Didn't work. The steak and main courses were great and the wait wasn't long to get it. My gf got the Hawaiian chicken and it was really really good. Feldmans is a good place to stop for good, homie food. They don't reinvent the wheel at Feldman's, but all their food is done well. The service was very quick, and we were in and out within and hour. The service was helpful and we felt like we picked the right place in Canyon. Don't go to Feldman's if you're looking for anything particularly healthy, and most of their food is full fat and not made for those on a diet. They have some decent salads but other than that the healthy selections are small. read more

I was hungry, wife was out of town, and I had been working. I forgot to take a picture, but the Tortuga's Chicken and Topped out Baked Potato weren't yet dressed, but imagine the chicken Topped out with melted cheese, topped out with a few bacon crunches, and some chives (courteously of the baked potato, And the baked potato smashed up, topped with butter, sour cream, bacon crunches, (no, I didn't use ALL of the bacon on top of the chicken), and some of the melted cheese, courtesy of the chicken. Needless to say, although it wasn't fancy, being served on styrofoam, but it was good FILLING! Chicken was tender as a mother's Love. Potato was GOOD AND Tasty! So I ordered a huge family dinner 2x brócoli baked potatoes with cheese and 2x potato soup 1 Philly cheese sandwich and 1 catfish and 1 chocolate cake and peach cobbler huge portions delicious food I ordered to go went home no peach cobbler but called came back inconvenient but they refunded me $10 courtesy and they were kind and the peach cobbler looks great all in all worth every penny read more

We ate here while we were in town for a Basketball tournament... I got the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy.. it was seriously some of the best I've ever had... One of my friends got the chopped steak and said it was really good... The other got a salad that she said was great!!! The prices were really good too... Our waitress was sweet... I lived in Canyon for 3 years and ate at almost every restaurant in the area. Feldman's is far and away the best restaurant for comfort food in the area. I started with the Tortuga Chicken and Railroad Ties and worked my way up to The Big Lebowski. I tried to have something different every time I went (even though it was hard...) and never left hungry or disappointed. I now live in Seattle and miss Feldman's every day. Any time I visit Texas I make a trip to Canyon just to eat here! I've driven up to 8 hours just to eat here and it's definitely worth it. read more

The green chili's were hard to see or taste. However the fries were pretty tasty. I would stick with beer as the special margarita tasted like a bad slushy. I live in San Antonio, and my family lives in Canyon. I literally crave the Island Cobb Salad from Feldman's while I'm away. It's a totally unhealthy salad, and that's probably why I love it so much. Their food is always good, no matter what you order. The atmosphere is fun, but they do have a drive up window for call in orders if you're not feeling the whole crowded restaurant vibe. Chicken fried chicken was great and my wife said her grilled chicken was cooked very well. My two girls loved the trains going around the elevated tracks a little too much. I would rename this place Feldman's Wrong CHOICE Diner. Walked in a few minutes after 8 in the evening. Probably 5-7 tables were taken, but there were easily 4-6 different wait staff on duty. We waited well over five minutes to be seated although there was no one in front of us. When we were seated, we asked that the a/c fan be turned off since it was blowing so hard the light fixture over our table was swaying back and forth. The waitress said she'd tell the "general manager" about it. We ordered our meals from the extensive menu. Most off the veggies likely came right out of the frozen food freezer. No freshness here. The chicken fried chicken wasn't bad, but again, not great. We asked a second time for the a/c fan to be turned off. The waitress returned and said the "general manager" said there "was no way to do that since it's connected to the lights!!" BS! When the fan became stronger than ever during our meal, we got up a and left. While paying our bill at the register, I told our waitress we were very unhappy and would NEVER COME BACK. She then did her best to cover for the "general manager" who, by the way, NEVER made a public appearance while we were there. We won't be back and I would highly recommend finding another place to eat while in Canyon. read more

We stayed in Canyon during our road trip to explore Palo Duro Canyon so finding a diner close by was extremely exciting considering how small the town is. We were seated by a woman who was extremely unpleasant and then to our surprise she was also our waitress. Our group was still looking over the menu when she returned and simply said "what do you want?" without even asking if we needed more time. None of us were even ready but we all hastily placed an order because we were still in shock. After my friend ordered the chicken strip basket she asked if she could get barbecue sauce with it and said waitress responded with "Uh huh" as she turned and walked away. We were unaware that asking for sauce would be such an inconvenience for her. The food however was delicious. My friend and I both got chicken strip baskets while my husband got the Hawaiian chicken. My brother got the steak finger basket. All good choices in our eyes if you do find yourself at Feldmans. Now after I was finished eating I happened to be looking down when our waitress approached and didn't even ask if I was done. She grabbed my basket and almost hit me in the face with it. This action was not accompanied with an apology. Overall the food was good and from what we could see other servers looked much happier and friendlier. We just somehow got the short end of the stick on this visit. (I could even put this waitresses name but I'm refraining) I originally was only going to give this place 2 stars but I think if we had been seated in any other servers section we would have had a much better experience. read more

Stopped on the way home from camping. The reviews on YELP intrigued us. We were seated promptly the wait staff was friendly. We ordered off the large selection of menu items. The French fries were really good. Made up for the fact they do not serve onion rings. If you are a meat eater this is the restaurant for you. If you are a vegetarian go some place else. I decided on the Baby Back ribs, mostly because I thought the $14.99 price with two sides was very very reasonable. I cannot remember the last time I saw Baby Backs under $19 for a full slab. WOW. My plate arrived and the ribs were hanging over each end. I was very impressed. They were absolutely delicious. Meaty, moist and the sauce was excellent. Best ribs I have had in years, anywhere. Host said they are cooked slow for 13-14 hours. We were a group of 24 people and we had but one waitress. All our food came out hot and ready to eat. Every one of the 24 people was more than happy with their meal - good quality,good portion size and good value. Our server was excellent. Highly recommend you eat here if given a chance. read more

Fettuccine was not Alfredo but some odd slightly pink with red pepper. In stead of the " best", my chicken fried steak was not even better but below average. To add insult. A unique local restaurant with a great atmosphere with a varied menu and good food. Unlike most of the restaurants you'll patronize. Model railroads choo-Chooing overhead add to the experience. Right next to the West Texas A&M it's a busy place at lunch time. We'd certainly visit again! read more
