This guy knows his stuff and you will walk away with a renewed feeling and outlook. At 70 I have a lot of issues with chronic pain, I work at them with stretching and strengthening exercises but can never quite get the release I need. I was in Puerto Vallarta between Jan 11-25 and stopped to see Felipe 3 times. Every visit he took time to work the areas that were causing me pain and targeted them in depth with each visit. Today, back at home, I haven't been this pain free since I can't remember when. I'm also going to have knee replacement in February and Felipe took the time to work the muscles and tendons around the knee making walking more tolerable for me. Really nice guy and decent massage. I was hoping for an earth-moving healing (from other reviewers testimonials) but I didn't experience it. I would go back to him again. If you walk there from the beach, please be aware that the street he is on has been permanent blocked by a building. Maps didn't know that and took me up a long hill with no way to get through, so I had to go back down and around a number of blocks, then back up the hill. Saved my back from surgery. Felipe's new location is right across the street from the gas station at the exit to Mismaloya. This is my second trip to Puerto Vallarta when I visited Felipe for his therapeutic massage. The first time was over 2 years ago when I was experiencing excruciating lower back pain and could hardly walk or stand. I saw Felipe 3 times that trip. When I went back to Colorado, I had an MRI and was told I had both a herniated disc and a ruptured disc. The doctor told me I should be in major pain and had no idea why I wasn't. Aww Felipe is sweet! And he's knowledgeable. I think he's trained as a chiropractor according to the certificates on his wall. So, this isn't typical massage, this is elevated massage. I think of it as more medical and very no frills but i think he's really focused on helping people feel better beyond the massage itself. Now, i will say that the space he's in is not nice. I beg them to replace the cool colored lightbulb with a warm one just to make the environment less abrasive. Felipe is incredible and clearly puts a lot of care and heart not only into your massage but in all the advice he gives you thereafter about to how to take care of yourself. The place itself is clean and small. The only thing I didn't like was that you share space with the room next door which felt awkward as I was getting undressed and then dressed. My wife and Felipe and I had another terrific person massaging me... I didn't even realize that Felipe would come around and crack portions of my body.... Just terrific. My wife had pain on her neck and back and after todays session, her neck pain is gone (at least after the massage) - "my neck feels great." Out of my trip to Puerto Vallarta, I will never forget the locals and also Felipe! I found him through Yelp but his massage spot was steps away from my VRBO when I was staying in Zona Romantica. I got into a little ATV accident while I was touring in the jungle nearby in the beginning of my trip. I flew off my ATV and landed on my hip and arm so I wasn't in the best condition. I didn't break or fracture my bones thankfully but felt like I needed a re-adjustment with my posture after because I was hobbling around. I knocked on his door and Felipe greeted me warmly. He asked what I needed for the visit. He spoke English well and knew what to do when I told him about my incident. He set up his table and had me face down and straightened my back, then proceeded to snap me back in various spots - including my hips especially. I was able to walk around better after this visit along with taking an Advil to get immediate restoration. He squeezed me in between another couple who was coming in for their couples' massage so I was very grateful that he was nice enough to do this for me. We were around 4 days into our stay here in PV when my partner hurt his back after a long day of walking around with a heavy backpack. He had severe back pain and needed help with immediate relief. Felipe and his assistant were able to take us in with no wait time and did a wonderful massage and back adjustment, finishing off with a cream that he recommended for muscle relaxation, in the photo. He gave me an appointment for the same morning. Felipe was great and clearly knows what he's doing. I'm feeling much better and I wish I could go again in a few days. I think one more massage would have me back to normal. It's $50 for an hour and is full body. When he worked on my feet, I was able to feel the effect of the pressure along my body. That was pretty cool. Also, my wrists really cracked, which I clearly needed from all the computer work that I do. Felipe gave me some tips on posture while at my computer and some movements I could do to help my shoulder. All in all, I highly recommend. read more

The day before my visit, I signed up on the paper they leave out at night attached to the door. I selected Felipe as the person I wanted. When I arrived the next day, Felipe passed me off to one of the women. I had thought she was prepping the table for him. I indicated I asked for him and they did swap. What is the point of having a sign-up sheet allowing you to select your masseuse ? I had selected him based off all the wonderful reviews about his years of experience. The massage was not relaxing or restoring. Instead, I thought at times he was truly trying to inflict pain. Twice he left so he could use the bathroom. (Is a small untidy space that has two beds and a curtain divider.) I'm not one of those people (a Ken, in a Karen world). At the end he stood outside the business and did not engage with me socially and didn't really speak. I felt it strange and off-putting and he made some remark about "other places" for me to go. Yes, I am gay. His business is in the heart of a gay area. I realize there are a lot of sketch places and having come to Puerto Vallarta over 27 times, I wanted to meet this Shaman and experience bliss. Instead, he delivered bigotry. I will stick with returning to and using The Wellness Room. They are awesome, professional and do a spectacular job. They aren't sketchy. They also provide services to men and women. Felipe must think gays are just yucky or something. He charges about $100 an hour and has been in the same spot for years. You would think he would have ample opportunity to buy some paint, burn some heavenly incense and fix up his spot. Better yet, move to a new place with less gays and more straight Canadian married couples needing couple massages. Sorry, this gay made the wrong choice. read more

Felipe is good. I have received a number of massages at various locations and his is near the top of my experiences. He seemed to combine a lot of trigger point therapy with some more traditional swedish techniques and takes a couple of queues from a Chiropractor. I don't remember feeling my hip pop before and it wasn't at all uncomfortable He uses a firm pressure which I am accustomed to and appreciate. He was easy to reach and make a same day appointment. The space he has is tight without much of anywhere to put your stuff. The temperature was fine. I'm a bigger guy and his massage table was just a bit on the narrow side to make it easy to avoid having my hand fall off to the side. I was looking via Yelp for a massage therapist to relieve an arm tendonitis I had had for more than a month. Physical therapy was going to cost a lot in the States because I haven't met my deductible. You make appointments on a sheet of paper they have at the entrance. You write your name. Payment is in cash. One hour cost me $50USD. Felipe worked hard from neck to toes. He concentrated on my arm. He pulled fingers and stretched my arm as if I were pulling a pulley. I had a lot of pain the next day. I didn't want to continue taking painkillers. But the pain was gone on the third day. I haven't had to take Naproxen, Advil PM since March 4. A friend sent me an article that said aching and soreness in spinal joints and muscles are common reactions to chiropractic adjustments. I wasn't happy the day after but now my pain has consistently been gone and I don't have to spend hundreds in physical therapy in the States.
