I called them two hours before it needed to be delivered and they made it there in time. They gave me a military discount and didn't even overcharge for any of it. I do wish they had dark chocolate boxes with no milk chocolate though. My mom was so surprised and said they did the flowers for my grandmothers funeral years ago. My family used Felthousen's for funeral flowers, and they looked wonderful. Oftentimes florists' work doesn't look like the pictures online, but Felthousen's arrangements were just as beautiful. The flowers were fresh and did not have wilted edges like I've experienced with other florists. Felthousen's was also good in terms of customer service. Even during this stupid pandemic, an operator picked up right away and was very pleasant. The owner then called me back promptly. They also made a couple tweaks to the arrangements in the exact way we discussed over the phone. Overall, It was very important to us that we had nice flowers since we could not have a proper funeral or mass for my grandmother. I was very pleased that they did such a nice job. I want to like this place, really I do. One time I had two drivers come to deliver a few arrangements, I'd ordered for my daughter's birthday. The drivers, were very nice and came back a few times until I was home. They called to see what the best time would be, when they couldn't catch me. The arrangements were nice. Today, however was a different experience. You don't leave flowers on the front porch in winter. Half of my arrangement is wilting, the stems were crammed in a vase, and multiple "heads" came off of the stems, when I removed the plastic overwrap. read more

I'm downgrading to three-star territory (somewhat unusually) based on comparison to other establishments for price and selection, now that we've been to Felthousen's a half dozen times. Felthousen's has a more high-end and occasion-feel to it than most of the area floral/plant places, but when we've gone looking for specific plants we've been consistently disappointed, and the pricing has turned out to be above average. I've also been disappointed by the "ready to take" selections they've had for bouquets. We have gotten good help on occasion, others we felt we were bothering the staff. I'm still not sure how to take this establishment, but it will remain our go-to place for last minute shopping but for bargains and errands with advanced planning we'll go to the grocery stores or the larger and cheaper floral/plant places down Route 7. read more

My dad's ordered from here before and recommended them to me. I needed a flower arrangement to take to a graveside memorial in the Adirondacks and I was worried about getting it there in good condition. I was supposed to pick it up at 2, but arrived early. It wasn't ready yet, and they were obviously very busy (Memorial Day weekend), but they put it together for me right away. It was lovely! They packed it securely in a box, and even gave me a bottle of water to take with me so I could keep it watered. I also bought a huge, beautiful hanging begonia for the relatives I was staying with, which was very reasonably priced. Everything made it up north in perfect condition. We ordered wedding flowers from a different florist and when the bride's bouquet was delivered the white roses were brown and wilting. We called Felthousen's and they were able to completely transform the bouquet with lush, fresh flowers within a matter of 2 hours - giving us plenty of time to take pictures and for the bride to walk down the aisle with a stunning, fresh bouquet. People often write reviews when they are unhappy about something. They rarely bother when they are happy. I recently sent my mom flowers from Felthousens's when she was recovering from back surgery. Upon seeing a photo of the arrangement I had some issues with it which I noted to them via email. Let me tell you, within 5 min Mark Felthousen was on the phone to me. It may have just been a bad photo but Mark did not question it and within hours a perfect arrangement and been delivered! I ordered a military spray online for a family funeral and then found, because the casket would be flag draped, that this arrangement would not be suitable. I called Felthousen's right away and spoke to Jessica who could not have been more helpful. She consulted with the owner and he thought the best idea would be to make two baskets, that would be placed on stands, using the same flowers that I had selected in the spray. The flowers that were delivered were really beautiful and a fitting tribute for the occasion. The only reason I am leaving this review is because the owner needs to understand his attitude is poor and I would prefer to do business with someone that makes a mistake and owns it, not someone that thinks their infallible. I called in an order for a flower arrangement and the very nice lady who answered looked up the picture on the internet and said they could make the arrangement. When I picked up the arrangement I complimented the woman cashing me out on a previous arrangement I ordered which worked out very well. When I arrived at my destination with today's arrangement I realized about 25% of the flowers were missing. I called and spoke with the owner who was very defensive and condescending. I offered to send him a picture of the arrangement. I emailed him pictures and he responded with "We made our version, which is pretty but not exactly like the picture. I have discounted the credit card 25%." Here is the problem, I never said the arrangement was not pretty. I said the arrangement was missing 25% of the flowers, which makes it look awkward. I should not have had to offer to send a photo, the owner should have requested the photo. He also should not have become defensive, because sometimes the customer is right and everyone is not looking to get a discount or something free. Some of us just want things to be fair. Discounting the arrangement 25% may seem fair because 25% of the flowers were missing, but remember, the arrangement is incomplete. Your arrangement is the topic of conversation, so far three people asked me, where did you buy that arrangement, and not because they want one. This is your reputation not mine. It makes you look bad. I am not a florist but I don't think any business owner that cares about their reputation would be more concerned with their bottom line and less concerned about the quality of their product. The icing on the cake is I can't even say the owner was gracious when I called with my concerns and he offered an apology and went above and beyond after reviewing the pictures I sent, but I can say the owner was rude and he gave me a 25% discount, so I guess we're even and it makes everything okay. read more

I am very impressed with this floral shop. I was very nervous about ordering flowers online because you can't see what your really getting. The flowers were delivered before noon and put the picture to shame. They were so much prettier and a much fuller bouquet then I thought they would be. The company my father works for ordered an arrangement from Felthousen's for my Grandmothers funeral service. They had promised that they would be delivered to the service location at 1 o'clock. That did not happen. Then my fathers boss said that they would be delivered to our house that day. We waited as long as we could before we had to leave for the funeral service which started at 7 pm. No flowers. The next day aeround 1:30 we get a call froim Felthousen's delivery man whom was nice but we explained that they were supoposed to come the day before for the funeral service but they could still deliver them to our home. We then recieved a call from Mark who identified himself as the owner who was making excuses as to why the flowers werent there the day before. First saying there was no one at the location when they went to deliver the flowers at 1. Which is untrue because we had several arrangements ordered from Price Chopper that were on time. He gave attitude and never apologized or offered a credit for my fathers boss. He was very rude and I cant believe someone who was so unsympathetic could be the owner. Never order flowers from there if you have any occasion where you would want your flowers delivered on time. read more

Neither arrived with the flowers shown online and they definitely did not have flowers of "equal or greater value" as promised for substitutions. I called and complained after the second order and was told that a manager would respond but I never heard back. So that second order is my last with them. read more

A friend in Kansas City asked her local florist to find a "good florist" in Niskayuna to send me a bouquet of tulips Saturday February 16. The multi-colored tulips were arranged in a clear glass globe wreathed inside with curly willow--lovely. And the flowers lasted a week, with one cutting of the stems.
