I had the best time coming to this Fendi location. From the moment I stepped in everyone was super nice and helpful. I went to purchase a new collar for my dog and realized immediately how good they were with my pup. I wanted to shout them out because all luxury stores are expected to be clean and have exceptional costumer service, however, not all of them are expected to be good with dogs. We looked for the collar and couldn't find the size I needed but then the person helping me out figured we could take it off the mannequin for me to purchase. In a nutshell: A cute bite of Italian luxury next to competition with larger real estate and stock, that is a hit or miss. THE GOOD Hudson Yards is a luxury mall that does not commit to high-end all the way, feels like an experiment between catering to the rich and high middle class gone boring and in a sense, reflects on this boutique. This is the good OK, bear with me :-) You come down the escalators you can see both windows as Fendi makes a corner, so you can already make a choice to enter or not. Because of the tiny real estate, if you're a picky seasoned shopper you can take a good look at everything in less than 3 minutes, if so. THE BAD High end shopping it is, or should be, an experience in itself regardless of the season's goods or intention of purchase on that visit. When we enter a boutique we like to feel welcome, left to our devices to explore and if I stop to look at something for awhile then I do expect the sales person to approach me and then discuss. In the same way, a sales person should listen and then say or act accordingly. We HATE salespeople pushing products on us, making suggestions that we haven't even asked and THAT is why mixing middle-class mentality with luxury does not work. I will not mention his name, because unfortunately, this happened again with another associate at the SoHo location, but it is an issue that must be addressed because it pushes client like us simply to shop online and have it delivered so not to deal with people like that. I suppose is fine for a sales person, driven by sales goals set by management, to lure tourists into buying whatever they are peddling but that is not how you interact with high-end clientele, certainly when most of us know more about fashion than them. THE BEST FENDI is FENDI, the quality, the beauty, and the craftsmanship are all there. Lauren was incredibly helpful finding my beautiful blue patent leather wallet that they did not had at that location. I am very glad that this interaction allowed me to return and experience with her a very efficient, amicable and kind shopping experience that turned everything around. After sharing my earlier impressions with Lauren, after the purchase, I appreciated her apology even if unnecessary because the gesture shows that she gets it and agrees. There is, of course, a component of want here, I am a Fendi client that wanted something in particular, and have not been in those circumstances my earlier interactions at the boutique would have not made me come back. Yet, one person is able to turn an opinion around and is now able to spend more time at the boutique and discover items I did not see before because I wanted to leave quickly. Now moved to the corner of 57th and Madison (where Montblanc used to be), this is a refreshing recreation of the space that was never used. The flagship now has almost everything you're looking for in the Fendi powerhouse. This is like a magical whimsical palace to walk into and the employees are really friendly too. Must check upstairs where they have a. a book of leathers in different colors and textures to customize your handbag b. oh! those fur jackets that have sprung alive from the pages of Vogue c. Of course other RTW. The brand has definitely reinvented itself over the past couple years. I'm really surprised with the low (and very few) ratings of this Fendi location. This is my favorite Fendi boutique (so far) and I've been to several. Here's a list of locations I've visited. * Beverly Hills * Costa Mesa * Las Vegas - 4 locations * Honolulu - 2 locations * Houston * Vancouver Back to Fendi on 5th Ave - I've been to this boutique on numerous occasions and never had a bad experience. I've also purchased a few things from here. While my fiancé sits comfortably on their lounge, I peruse their collections on the 1st and 2nd floor. In addition to shoes and purses, I especially love the swimwear! It isn't usually on display so you have to request to see this collection. Comparable to other locations, I've noticed this boutique has the most inventory and latest seasonal options. The staff is helpful and polite. Fendi is always at the top of my list when visiting New York. read more

I don't know why this store has such low ratings. I had a wonderful experience here. I bought a Fendi bag from the Willowbrook mall in NJ a few years ago. The strap on my bag was becoming detached and I was curious if they could repair it. I had no receipt, and didn't even purchase it from the flagship store, so I wasn't hopeful they could do much for me. Not only did they take my bag in for repair (after they made sure it was real), but they did it with no complaints and were extremely polite. They didn't push me to purchase anything else either. The repair wait time was a little long, about one month, but when it was ready they personally called me to come in. Best part of it all, there was no charge!!! When I came to pick up the bag, it was re-stuffed and waiting for me in a new shopping bag. When I make a $700 purchase, I expect top notch customer service. You'd think a flagship store would have more in stock and more competent salesassociates Firstly, out of the 4 salespeople that have helped me, three were genuinely nice and helpful and made my experience pleasant, the other (who has now helped me multiple times) is a total pretentious, incompetent b*tch. I had been looking for a specific style of belt and found that Fendi made one I completely fell in love with. Over the course of three months apparently no store in the US had the item in my size and was told by the aforementioned b*tch (okay, name is Victoria) that they probably wouldn't be getting more in (90cm belt for a 30 in waist, pretty standard you'd think, yeah?), so I eventually bought one that was way too big and had extra holes punched in it, no big deal. Although a month later, they have it in my size. Now, I recently go back to get the same style belt, but in black...low and behold Victoria is there waiting to help me, says they don't have my size in stock (surprise), and that she will ship in the belt from another store. A week and a half goes by, heard nothing, so I call...."Oh, I'm so sorry, I'll have it in Monday." Great, she totally forgot. Monday rolls around, again, hear nothing, call again, "yeah we got in a belt, but the one you want isn't made anymore, I have a different one for you to look at." Seriously?....?!?!?! You're a total F'ing moron, that's not what I asked for and you either completely messed up and/or lied to me. I'd expect this to happen maybe at a target or TJ max, not Fendi. read more

Fendi on 5th Avenue is a beast in itself. This huge flagship spans throughout two floors, offering you everything and anything that is within Fendi's current season. On one of my random 5th Avenue walks, I decided to go inside and see if anything caught my eye. Open walking in, you'll see all their handbags, with the clothing and suiting towards the back. The store itself is spacious and never crowded, which provides you a great shopping experience. This particular time, I was looking at snagging either a pair of dress shoes or some jeans. While browsing the store, one of the sales associates approached me to offer some help. The nice thing is that the sales associates aren't overly aggressive, but that comes with shopping at places like these. Anyhow, I decided to try on some jeans, and while I was in the fitting room, the sales associate kindly brought me some sparkling water. Not a biggie, but its still a kind gesture. In the end, I bought my jeans, which was placed in a dust bag for some odd reason, and had a great overall experience. In the end, whether or not your just simply browsing the shops on 5th Avenue, or on a hunt for something in particular, the Fendi store is a nice spot that you can throw in your rotation. My dog ate the strap on my favorite Fendi shopper tote. I was told by Fendi corporate and the repair center to bring it to a boutique store. I brought it to the Fendi store on 5th avenue, NYC, and they handed me the card to the repair center. I told them the repair center told me to go to the store and let them handle it. Now I am scared to send it anywhere because I might lose it from their confusion on who is supposed to handle a return for repair when it is not under warranty. Well, let me tell you this, I contacted corporate, and I relayed my experience. I received a phone call back and a representative, (an executive of Fendi,!) handled my purse repair personally. I shipped it in. They repaired it to look better than new. I was charged $125, reasonable rate, it took about 4 days, and I had it back within a week. A Plus for personal service, and fast turnaround once the ball was rolling. I guarantee there is a system in place now for warranty and non-warranty repairs. read more

They wouldn't allow me to ship it to my office, only a home address. I couldnt ship it to my home because it would ruin the surprise. I shipped it to a colleague's home instead. The agent on the phone never told me someone had to be physically home to sign for it. (the call was recorded by them) There was no way for me to get the gift in time for her birthday unless someone took a day off work to wait for it. They refused to let it go to the house without a signature or have it forwarded to my office or held at the post office. They had zero interest in trying to be helpful. Purchased my son and I sweatshirts for an NYC photoshoot once in NY opening package before shoot my sons zipper was defected. Fendi did nothing after getting back from vacation spending $1500 on two items that were not able to be used because the zipper was defected. Fendi customer relations refused to all I wanted was an exchange and they said in the email "they were there for my disposal" whatever that means will never buy from them again so it is now June and the $600 children's sweater will never be used. I truly feel like I was robbed they took my money and sent me a defected item that was meant to be used for a very special event they also ruined without care. They never took into consideration the $400 photographer fee I paid for that the outfits were meant to be worn for this shoot. read more

I love Fendi products, but this store has a horrible return policy. My boyfriend bought me shoes as a gift and they shoe ran small to size. I actually did reviews on this shoe and it's basically a commonly known fact. I think every review I read claimed the shoe ran small. When my boyfriend was in the store he asked the salesgirl if the shoe was true to size and she said absolutely. When I tried the shoe on it was so small I had to jam my foot in there. I went back to return the shoe for another size and of course they didn't have it in stock. I saw another shoe I liked, but of course my size wasn't available either. At this point I wanted to just return the shoe completely and get a refund, but the shoes has an exchange only policy, good for 10 days. I had to request they ship the other size in and the salegirl said she would call me the next day. Two days later I had to followup and call the store to find out the shoe had come in. Since I was stuck at work late, my boyfriend went to pick up the shoes on the way home and they told him that once he left the store, the item would be considered final sale and no other exchanges could be made. The shoe itself wasn't even on sale, but they have a one-time exchange policy which is absolutely ridiculous. I would think for a higher end store, the return policy would be more customer-friendly. This is probably the last time I shop at this store just purely based on the lazy salespeople and horrible return policy. read more

The merchandise - OK. Staff are professional but not without attitude. However their return policy is OUTREGIOUS, especially for people living in America, where we are used to be given at least couple of days to change our minds. The moment they have swiped your credit card you will never get your money back, even if you change your mind right there in front of them. I decided to buy shoes, store did not have my size. They said that the shoes could be shipped from another store. I paid and singed the receipt that I could not read, I did not have my reading glasses with me. When I got home and showed a picture of the shoes to my husband, he absolutely hated them. I call the store immediately, explained the situation and ask them not to ship the shoes.. The answer was:" The moment you paid its yours and you can only exchange it.' I don't like anything else in the store, and now I am sitting on $1,500. Why to put yourself through this. There are nothing in the Fendi store that can not be purchased in our upscale department stores with 60 days return policy, Newman Marcus, for example. On or about August 13, 2018 I purchased a $3,000 Fendi bag at the Short Hills Mall in NJ while I was visiting from Florida. I wasn't quite sure if I really wanted the bag, but Michele and Susan (store manager) both assured me that if I purchase it and then decide when I get home that if I want to return it, I have 14 days (Fendi store policy) to take it to the nearest store in Florida which is in the Aventura Mall and get a full refund. When I did get home, I decided the bag wasn't practical for my use since it was to small and didn't accommodate my wallet, phone, keys, etc. Today I drove almost an hour to the Fendi store at the Aventura Mall to return the bag and was told that Fendi does not refund the purchase price but rather will issue a store credit or I can replace the bag with other merchandise. I was told by Michele and Susan from the Fendi store in Short Hills that I would get a full refund if I returned the bag. So I called them both today and they both said they did not tell me that. This is a "bait & switch" tactic and a totally fraudulent statement on their part. They lied and now I have no recourse other than to keep the bag. I am trying to dispute it with American Express, but was told I probably will not see a credit to my account. Both women lied to me just to close a sale. There are others who have also posted similar complaints about the same two people on other websites. I am a savvy shopper and would have never purchased this bag without first asking about the return policy. All well known and high quality leather good stores allow you to return a purchase for a full refund within a specified time period. Obviously, Fendi is not one of these stores. Their store return policy was not clearly posted in a convenient or easy to read location prior to completing the purchase. So, all I had to go on was the word of the two salespeople who down and out lied. The store has the worst customer service. The sales staff are rude (w/ the exception of one guy who is always very nice) and their repair center is non existent. The leather in my fendi spy bag that I bought in the very same store two years ago was turning color (after I hardly wore it) and the handle was falling apart so I brought it in and they refused to even look at it. They said that they don't really do repairs there and I should just go to a leather repair store. If I ever go to chanel for repairs, they are so pleasant and nice. I bought a Fendi bag at New York 5th Ave store ONE year ago. Within 3 months of the purchase the lock on the bag snapped off. I could not find the piece and called the store to see if it could be fixed. They assured me it could be fixed but they didn't have the missing piece in stock. I went to the store and the customer service representative took pictures of the handbag and said she would order the piece from Italy. Well it's been a year and I have spoken to the customer service representative numerous times. I always get the same answer which is the lock piece has not come in and they will call me when it arrives. Within the last month I've left a message with corporate as well as the customer service rep and no one has returned my phone call. I went back to Fendi out of desperation. The customer service representative was out on maternity leave and a senior sales person who remembered me from my last visit assisted me. She convinced me to leave my bag and assured me they would ship it back to me if it couldn't be repaired. Miraculously it was repaired and sent back to my home in VA. Fendi bags are expensive and they should be able to repair their products in a timely manner. If they can't make the repair then they should have offered me a replacement handbag or a full refund. With so many choices of upscale handbags available I urge you never to buy a Fendi handbag or any of their products. If you are unlucky enough to get a defective product you will have no recourse if it happens after 7 days! DISGRACEFUL !!! read more
