I'm not sure how to rate. The technicians that have been here were so helpful and kind. They were willing to do what they have been trained to do to make things right. However, I am not a fan of their sales tactics at all and also of their tricky contract. Their sales technicians are not well educated on what the company can do and will promise anything to get the sale and a contract signed. They've done a great job with spider control and will come out extra times, if needed. But I've struggled with them making any sort of dent in our vole problem. But I had another company before them that also struggled with coming up with a solution as well. Fenix will at least try and experiment and do what they can. It just hasn't worked yet.... I would give technicians (Maxwell Johnson was the most recent) a 5 star review. The rest of this review does not pertain to them specifically. read more

Similar to some other reviews, the service they provided to treat for voles seemed to be effective. But, their sales and contract management process feels designed to force you to pay for services you didn't want. The initial sales contact stated that we would be able to cancel our service at any point. When I attempted to do that I was informed that wasn't the terms of the contract that was put in place. So was forced to continue the service for the full year. I assumed that our service was concluded. Just received a notice that they were returning for another service. When I called to question that, was informed that the agreement continues unless you provide written notice to cancel. So we will be charged for another visit because they need 30 day notice. They've now been notified so I assume we are now done with them. Also, if you use their service, be prepared for an on-slot of notices until your invoice is paid. Not an issue if you meet your tech and hand them a check, but very irritating if you are going through a process to issue payment. In general, not an organization that I'm likely to choose in the future. read more

I had them come out for a one time job and made sure it was a one time service then 3 months later they tell me I have to pay every 3 months for a year when they confirmed I only signed up for the one year service. I tried canceling and they wouldn't let me and threatened to take me to claims. do not use this company and don't trust them even if you think it's a one time service. absolutely terrible read more

From start to finish I had nothing but negative results with this company. I did not seek out this service, they showed up door to door one day. I could NOT get the service guy to leave my door step after repeated price offerings. Finally gave in for a 20 dollar treatment that I verbally confirmed with him I could cancel anytime after and he said 'for sure'. He hands me the stupid 6 inch phone to sign for the treatment. Treatment done, called a few weeks later to cancel...NOPE...because the contract only allows within the first 7 days...so now on the hook for 350 dollars of 'services'. FINE, super annoyed but I roll with it. Service visits were fine, techs were really nice. I honestly did not notice ANY difference post service to be brutally honest. They were on the property a grand total of 5 minutes each time. Finally finish up the requirements and move onto canceling, I call, cancel and confirm I DO NOT want this service. They say they will send a final invoice as confirmation and I was to reply to that even though I JUST talked to someone to cancel. I don't get any invoice / email so I just move on with life. Fast forward 2 months, I am still active for some reason and had another appointment. Call to figure it out and apparently re-cancel this service only to find out that I need 30 days prior notice to cancel and now I am going to get charged 109 dollars as a result just to cancel this service I DID NOT WANT. Customer service and the manager were extremely rigid and rude. The Corporate office was the same with zero recourse. Might be a great pest control company in some alternate reality but for me this was no doubt a terrible interaction. read more

First be aware. They will lock you into a one year contract (and to cancel the service you have to mail in a request!). Second it's been almost a year and I still have pests.heres what to expect if you sign up. The last two visits their employees have spent a total of 13 minutes at my home which included sitting in their truck. Getting equipment. Walking quickly around my home. Sitting in the truck again. And leaving. My wife was home they did not let her know there were there and the inside of my home hasn't been serviced since last fall. But they still collect their 140 bucks. I'm told "it was bad employee and manager combo" and if I really wanted the inside treated I should call them back it's always free of charge. But how about you knock my door to acknowledge your presence at my home? We made effort to be there and you don't even let us know you're there? That's a company issue. I shouldn't have to correct your short comings as a client of yours. I believe that you don't fulfill your contractual agreement but here I am stuck paying 140 every treatment your employees don't do their jobs. Doing business with this company is Worse than paying your tax's. read more

I would not recommend using Fenix Pest Control. They're ineffective and unscrupulous. They set me up on a contract with quarterly payments. I was a customer for over a year and a half and in that time they were ineffective resolving the spider issue I was having. I saw no value continuing the services. When I canceled they charged me for the next service even though I'm not going to receive it. Not only that they refused to cancel it and had me jump through hoops, saying they couldn't cancel because I wasn't calling from phone on file, when I called on that phone they said I needed to send and email. They also said their "system" is set up to charge me anyway and takes 30 days for a cancel it to go through. This strict "system" managed to charge me within 5 minutes after the call which was days ahead of the next service, when it normally would have charged. If it wasn't for this behavior on their part I wouldn't be writing this review and may have considered them in future for other pest issues. Very bad business ethic on their part which I feel will cost them more in the long run then they'll receive in these "extra" one last charges they extort from their prior customers. Note, seems some positive reviews are from other States, not Iowa, which is where I'm from so this is specifically the Fenix Pest Control servicing the Des Moines area where I'm from. read more

We were customers of Orkin for 20+ years. After doing the math, I switched to Fenix. Their customer service is excellent. Fenix treats the outside of our house quarterly, and I haven't seen a bug since. Revisits are free if anything appears. And I'm saving $500.00 a year. read more

DO NOT sign up for service with Fenix unless you want to keep them forever. Their office staff make up policies so they don't have to give you the promised discounts, refuse to listen to reason and drag ending your SA out for months. While their techs are very nice, I had to have multiple locations resprayed because their product didn't kill the wasps. read more

Appleton Wisconsin location is a scam they. only needed for one service got talked into a yearly plan then after a year I called in advance to make sure we were good they said no problem then now year is over and still trying to charge me for as Oh its in the system so you have to pay. when I asked to talk to a manager they said oh there in a meeting how convenient. read more

Got rid of my mole issue at my home as well as all my wasp nests! Would definitely recommend. The technicians are super considerate and they take their time. Made sure to knock on my door after and explained everything he did. Super affordable compared to my last pest control company. read more

Terrible customer service and billing methods. I cancelled their monthly program and still was charged for the following month even though I received ZERO services. I started getting text messages and phone calls of the "back" bill a couple months after I cancelled, saying I was over 45 days past due. When I asked for the bill for the services not done to be removed, they told me I would be sent to collections for the $50 owed. I went ahead and paid it, under duress due to the threat of a collections. As a Real Estate Agent, I work with Pest Companies all the time. Do not recommend one bit. read more

Service has been great overall with Fenix, when we did have an issue with a tech not taking time to do things correctly, they immediately had a supervisor call me and revisit and do a thorough service within a week. The customer service is great and with our last service Kyler did a great job removing a very large wasp nest before my son's party outside. They are knowledgable and overall I would recommend especially for those like us who are in newer developed areas where spiders and other pests are sometimes overwhelming. read more

Terrible company!! Said they could help control or at least rid these darn Japanese beetles, nope! Also, you only have 3 days after signing the agreement to cancel. They can't even get out out to your house in 3 days! REDICULOUS!! THEN, they want to charge $130 to cancel your service within the 30 days. read more

I've been with Fenix for a few years now, I love not having to schedule visits and the price hasn't changed which I really appreciate! However, I their service has really started to decline. we have noticed a large increase in the amount of spiders around the inside and outside of the house. After a recent service our finished deck is still covered in spider webs, there are multiple webs around windows, and we're starting to see more large spiders inside the house. To add to it, the recent service was completed just before it rained, so now any chemicals applied are washed away. 2 years ago I would have recommended but currently I'm not very pleased. read more

Absolutely the worst pest company I've ever used. Extreme lack of customer service and understanding. Decided to use them after the sales guy that knocked on my door said they could get rid of all the spiders and wasp around my house. After a few treatments I did not notice a reduction I noticed an increase. Past pest companies have removed the spider webs as well as part of the service, you need to request it with these guys. I made them aware of this and they would send someone out that had no idea why they were there. After about the fourth treatment I called the office to cancel my service. They informed me they would send someone out right away to treat the inside and outside of the house. The person they sent out treated the outside of the house but never treated the inside and claimed in his notes that he did. That was the final straw, I called back to cancel the service now not only do to the treatment not working but credibility issues. They told me under no circumstance would they cancel my contract unless I wanted to pay the early termination fee which was the price of a treatment. This is even though they were not holding up their end of the contract. So now I'm left with paying for a service that doesn't work as they stated. Also in order to cancel the contract you have to send an email exactly 30 days before the end of the contract. Not before and not after. I would not use this company they're absolutely ridiculous. read more

I wouldn't touch this company! Not honest with pricing or services offered. When you see a bug they tell you that service wasn't included in what you subscribed to. My replacement has been great asking what my problems are and then tailoring a solution. Very disappointed and wouldn't recommend. read more

Beware. This company uses flyers advertising a low cost service but they misled me into a contract by indicating it was a trial and I could cancel at any time without penalty. I had expressed concern since we were soon to be moving. They did not make me aware they would charge $160 to cancel which they then charged to my card without permission. They sprayed some wasps around the house and I noted no improvement over a $5 can of wasp spray from any home improvement store. They were very difficult to deal with over the phone and were the worst kind of "call to cancel" you can imagine. I recommend throwing their flyers in the garbage and learning from my mistake. read more
