I can't say enough good things about Dr. Tungol and his team. I was able to get an appointment quickly for what I thought was a loose filling, but it turned out to be a fractured wisdom tooth. Dr. Tungol took the time to explain all my options, and when I decided to have it removed, he was able to do it on the spot. I've had a tooth pulled before, and this experience was unbelievably easy in comparison--I barely even realized it was happening. The recovery was just as smooth; he followed up personally, but honestly, I healed so quickly that I hardly needed it. When I returned to get the suture removed, he went over potential work I might need in the future, like replacing old fillings from 20 years ago or keeping up with cleanings, but there was never any pressure--just helpful information so I could plan ahead. I was a patient from 08-15 or so. I had mostly great experiences and the work I had done there holds up even now, almost 10 years later. I stopped going because of one experience I had. I was told I needed a root canal which I could barely afford at the time, even with insurance. I saved up and went through with it and all went well. Afterwards on a follow up, Dr. Tungol told me I needed another root canal on the other side of my mouth. I had been going to this office for years at this point and the need for a second root canals was never mentioned before so I was surprised by it. When I ask him why this was the first I was hearing of the need for a second root canal when I didn't have any discomfort, Dr. Tungol got very annoyed and said "ok then, never mind!" He got upset and left the room, upset that I questioned his diagnosis instead of explaining the situation. This raised red flags and I never went back. Now, almost 10 years later, the tooth I supposedly needed a root canal for, is fine and always has been. Subsequent dentists never agreed that a root canal was needed for that tooth. This was my experience and it may be unique. I must say his staff was excellent. read more

I had always run away from previous dentists until I went to Dr Tungol years ago. My teeth were very neglected and I thought I needed them all extracted. I am so glad Dr T is my dentist and am happy with all the restoration on my teeth, I now smile a lot. Dr Tungol took excellent care of my dental needs, he and his staff had a real plan and worked with me (my fear) and my insurance to give me nice teeth and dental health at affordable out of pocket costs. I am a new patient here and I did not make a first time impression by arriving late. However Heather knew who I was without ever seeing me politely asked me to fill out the form, I already felt welcomed! As Jimmie began to do her job I noticed her professionalism and her high energy tempo with a positive vibe. Jimmie explained in depth what procedures she was doing and showed my in the x-rays where she was going to be doing the work. Dr Tungol followed up with his suggestions and made me feel comfortable as well. This is my new dentist office. All I can say is I found a new home with Dr. Tungol and Jimmie. Dr. Tungol's office is wonderful! Dr. Tungol has been my dentist for 10 plus years. He replaced a bridge I had done on my incisors (front teeth) and I couldn't be happier with the work. He is aggressive with cavities and fills them with a tooth-colored material for pleasant aesthetics. And he is generous with numbing medication and takes pain control seriously. My dental hygienist, Jimmie, is a ray of sunshine. I'm always looking forward to sitting in her chair and hearing about her latest adventures. I haven't posted a review in quite a while and usually it's for a restaurant. However, I felt compelled to say something here about the dentist whom I have seen for almost 25 to 30 years. Dr. Tungol has cared for our family for that long from baby teeth through crowns over the years and now with two of our grandchildren and son-in-laws. He and his office have always been professional, caring, and always above board. I could never imagine him or his staff ever suggesting a procedure that wasn't necessary as I've seen in some of the reviews of dentists. I'm not happy to have paid out of pocket for 2 different crowns about 10 years ago. Recently one fell off and another is loose. I went to my dentist and he said that the tooth was ground down so far and then built up under, to make the crown stay, that there is no way to replace the crown that I will need an implant. These run about 3k each tooth. NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS. Hopefully when this next loose one falls off it's not the same. read more

A friend of mine goes to Dr. Tungol, so I thought I'd give him a try. I just went for cleanings, and I have historically "good" teeth. He found a very small cavity, not a big deal. They don't have very modern equipment - he checks your teeth with the metal piece, the same way my dentist did 15 years ago. My second "cleaning, "I was not even checked by Tungol. A dental assistant basically brushed and flossed my teeth, and then sent me on my way. The real story though, is from my boyfriends visit. He had not been to a dentist in 6 years, and needed to have a root canal done. Went in for the root canal, and spent 6 hours in the dentists chair, unexaggerated. Tungol could not "get him numb," and spent hours trying to numb him. He would drill, and then realize the pain was horrible, stop, numb, drill, stop, numb, etc. It seems to me that any experienced dentist would have dealt with people with a high tolerance for novicane and have a better way of dealing with it than this... read more

I'm not the one to give out bad reviews, but going to this office I felt like he was trying to sell me my own teeth!!???.... I had a minor pain (February) on one of my molars - still do not know why.... He wanted me to take it out that day; they even made an appointment for me ... and his like we will get you a crown or maybe and implant should cost you $5,000 to $10,000 with insurance... I was like NO Thank YOU !!!! Tooth already had a crown on it --- didn't see nothing wrong with it !!! Anyway, its now August 19 and I still have my tooth and I have no problem with it.--------- He might be a good doctor... I don't know ... just be careful and get a second opinion for another doctor before you agreeing to a $$$$$$$. read more

My tooth had been hurting for over 2 weeks. I was recommended from 1800 denist to Dr. F. Tongol. His offices is so friendly and warm. His receptionist Heather helped me with all my paperwork. When I meet Dr. Tungol, I was so nerves but he made me feel so comfortable and at ease. He work with me in every way. When he preform my root canal he was fabulous in everyway. I don't like denist at all that much but Dr. Tungol is someone who make you feel safe and secure. He is the sweetest denist and very trustworthy person I've ever meet. I've been a patient for Dr. Tungol for 10+ years. Covid started, and they started to charge $10 for mask and equipment fees up front. Ok I can understand that so I paid a few times (I go in twice a year for cleanings). Well I recently went in and they still charge this $10. Covid has died down a lot (It's Feb 2023 now) and why are you still charging patients? I checked with other dentists and they do not charge and never did charge a covid fee or any up front fee. I refuesed to pay this fee. Well they happily told me good luck I'm not a patient anymore. Wow after 10+ years? I'm sure they are friendly when you give them money. Just seemed like a scam to me. Thanks a lot Tungol. There are plenty of honest dentist out there, avoid this guy. He actually screwed up my sons teeth a year back. Did something wrong and told him to go see a specialist. Made sure he took his money though from my sons dental insurance, which left him not able to have enough money from his insurance to pay the specialist, so he had to out of pocket. He screws up my sons teeth, still gets paid and sends him off on his way. FINISH the job or dont get paid I say. My son had to deal with pain for a while before getting it fixed. I've been going to Dr. Tungol for over 6 years now and I'm so happy with all the work I've gotten. I've had so many dental issues in the past from previous dental offices like "Western Dental" and with not having insurance, didn't make it any better. Even as a cash patient, Dr. Tungol will work with you. My experiences with him and his staff have always been amazing. My family also comes here. I think my mom referred me to Dr. Tungol after hearing my nightmare stories at other places. Jimmy is amazing, always look forward my cleanings/conversations with her. I've been going to Dr.Tungol since I was 3 years old, and I'm now 25. All of my family members go to him and we have never had anything bad to say! He does awesome work, all of his staff are welcoming and very good at their jobs. As much as I dread going to the dentist, dr tungol, heather and the hygienist (I always forget her name) are GREAT! Very welcoming, easy to talk to, and most of all Dr. Tungol does phenomenal work, he's the reason I have such pretty teeth. Though I have insurance, I never pay out of pocket for anything, and I have even referred some who don't have insurance and he's willing to work with them. Overall, I would def say he is the best dentist! And I can't forget this, every time I have work done, he ALWAYS calls me the next day to check in and make sure Im not in any pain and nothing's gone wrong with the work he did. NO, NO, NO! Thumbs down. Shoddy workmanship with respect to crowns... Should crowns crack in less than a year? NO! Well, I suppose so, if the dentist who placed them neglected to check the bite afterwards. Should he refer out for root canals? Yes, but does he? Not enough. He missed a root, which resulted in an infection that I had to diagnose and convince him to write an Rx for ABX! One word - ENDODONTIST! Look it up, Dr. Tungol. Do your current patients a favor and refer. Should a patient hurt for days after a routine visit? NO! There are many, many other reasons not to have him be your dentist. There are also so many other dentists to choose from - why choose a poorly skilled one? Seems to know how to maximize reimbursement from your insurance policy, though. read more
