The apple fritters here are absolutely amazing! I stopped here and got one just about every day I was in town on my vacation. I'd also recommend the cinnamon rolls and chocolate croissants. This is more like a quiet general store that also has fresh backed items, so checkout is via a counter. Service was fast and staff super friendly every time I went in. Parking in the lot can be a little tough to get in and out of, would be more likely to recommend parking on the street. read more

Apple fritter, cinnamon roll, and cherry strudel were not served hot off the press at 6:30 AM. Flavors were up to par for cinnamon roll and apple fritter. Top of cherry strudel was initially hard to bite down. I had to bite down twice. Cherry filling tasted delicious. I loved how the dough tasted lighter for these pastries. Cinnamon bun and cinnamon roll are two different pastries. Bakery is inside the convenience store near the entrance/exit. Staff were helpful and answered questions. read more

2.5/5; Got the walnut brownie, i believe 5.99 cad, and apple cinnamon bread, maybe around the same price for a good size loaf. The walnut brownie was gooddd, quite expensive but a good chewy brownie, decent size. The bread was so disappointing, has cinnamon swirl within the bread but it jus wasnt sweet. Barely any apple as well, the small apple bits were the only sweetness in the bread. Its like they didnt add any sugar to the cinnamon swirl mixture. This small bakery was such a gem! I liked their baked goods so much I went twice on my three days there! The Cronut was so good and even better when you get there early. I don't know what they dip it in but it almost tasted like butter and maple syrup, YUM. The exterior of the cronut was crispy and the inside soft, oozing with butter. Don't skip the gigantic brownie. It was so rich and melted in our mouths. I forgot how many different kind of chocolates was in there but it was super chocolatey! I also grabbed a bag of the chocolate chip cookies. Also delicious! The blueberry pastry that looked like a toaster strudel was a bit dry. Would be great with coffee though, I bet. There were many other options, we wish we had more space in our stomach to try everything. The grocery side was clean. Love dropping in here. Their daily fresh apple fritters, cinnamon buns, pepperoni cheese sticks, sausage rolls, croissants, cookies and pies somehow some of them make it into my backpack on my way home. No idea how that happens :-). Great variety of grocery items especially the breads. If you get the late night munchies this is a great place to come. Their fruits and vegetables are usually very fresh. This store is a staple for those of us who just don't want to go downtown. Don't forget to buy your lottery tickets here. read more

We had stopped for breakfast next door at the Summit Cafe, which was delicious, then grabbed some baked goods from here for the road. The concept of a convenience store with a fresh bakery was interesting. We tried both the turnover and the cookies. Both were mediocre. The cookies were kinda doughy. While the store appears to lean more towards a convenience store than a bakery, these friendly folks have the best apple fritters in the area. They are also good for your standard flavors of ice cream, and any number of grocery items, including products from Quebec. We were able to get baked goods from them on Canada Day, since they are open everyday!!!! read more

What a concept! This is a small-town convenience store that cells candy and beer and cigarettes and condoms and lottery tickets and fresh baked goods--prepared right there on-site before your eyes! It was amazing, behind the counter, there the gals are with their industrial oven and Kitchen Aide mixer, baking really tasty breads, cookies, and other assorted treats. If that's not enough they make pizza too (we didn't have any but it smelled great)! We picked up a small package of three monster cookies (just like home-made except better because I didn't have to make them myself), a chocolate chocolate chip muffin, and a package of cinnamon raisin bread. I don't know why a place like this hasn't caught on--I mean the the beer and cigarettes and lottery tickets to help cover the overhead and the chance to craft honest baked goods. We discovered Fergie's last year and it is great. We tried the Apple cinnamon Raisin Bread, Whole Wheat Bread, Cheese Bread, Apple Fritters, Homemade Donut, and the Tortierre. All were delicious and we'll be back to Canmore again this summer and the first place we'll stop is Fergie's to buy fresh bread and treats. She also had a small selection of organic fruits and vegetables which we found convenient. Everything we bought was reasonably priced so we weren't getting gouged just because it was a 'convenience' store. read more
