I guess I should have looked at the reviews before I drove from Palm Springs to pick out a new faucet. I walked in and was greeted by the receptionist up front. I walked around for a couple of minutes and was greeted by two salespeople sitting behind desks. Great, I thought. I have space to roam without being followed. I found a faucet I really liked but it was in a brushed stainless and I wanted shiny. I decided to walk over to where three sales people were leaning on countertops to see if someone would ask if I was doing okay or needed help. Nope. Nothing. In fact, what these three were doing were leaning against the countertops talking about how there was a change in someone's compensation structure and they weren't too pleased that no one ran that by her first. She wasn't too happy about it, and the other two people (one man, another woman), were carrying on with her about it. So I stood and looked at faucets but still nothing. I even looked up in their direction but couldn't get their attention. I was shocked. I guess no on here works on commission? Being from The Bay Area where customer service is paramount (and being in Human Resources myself which is all about customer service) I wasn't going to ask for someone to help me. I went up to the receptionist and asked for the manager to see if he or she could help me. I was told he was off work, but that she (the receptionist) would get someone to help me. I said no thank you and I was going to leave. She apologized and asked if she could find someone for me and I explained to her the situation - three sales people leaning against countertops talking about changes in compensation and how frustrated they seemed. I then thanked her and walked out. 1. You need to keep on point and talk to customers, if only to say hi or ask if they have any questions. 2. You don't talk about personal or business issues on the sales floor. If you have a gripe, do it off the sales floor. What disappoints me most is how good Ferguson's was to work with when I did my remodel in San Francisco. I was surprised this didn't carry over to this part of California. Bummer, as I was wanting to buy CVR LF ONO PULLOUT STL with a showroom price of $996.00 and also talk about replace all 4 toilets in my house. Now I have to go somewhere else or try and find the faucet online? Then find a place for toilets. What a disappointment. read more

Why is it that ALL of the positive reviews are hidden and "not recommended" but yet all the ones that seem to be negative, and clearly posted by competitors, are the only ones that show up? Seems kind of messed up. I just went in to Ferguson again yesterday to order a new faucet for my bathroom, and Donna, whom I always deal with, was very helpful, as usual. Daniel also helped me take a look around at some samples while Donna was finishing up a phone call. I think it is ridiculous that only the negative reviews are posted on here, but the positive ones are all hidden. Seems very fishy, and if I worked for/at Ferguson I would be very upset. The next time I go in there, I will have to speak with the boss and see what can be done about it. I was going through the reviewers on here and spotted at least three that I am sure work for competing companies. That is just sick that they would take the time to come on here and bash another company just to try and make themselves look better. Hopefully something can be done about it. I will either be going in to Ferguson, or calling there to speak with the boss and see if something can be done about this. I have tried contacting Yelp, but they told me that nothing can be done, and it is up to the boss to reply to these negative reviews and to contact Yelp himself to have them investigate and find out that it is in fact the competitors bashing their competition. Anyways, I'm sure this comment will be deleted/hidden too, but for the time being, anyone that is looking for any kind of bath/kitchen products/fixtures, go on down to Ferguson and they will PROPERLY take care of you. I ordered and paid for a cooktop stove replacement. Two weeks later, I called to get an update on my order. As my sales consultant, Debbie Williams, was unavailable I left a message to have her call me. Three days later no call. I called the office and was placed on hold awaiting the receptionist to answer the phone. After 10 minutes and no answer I hung up. An hour later, I tried the office number again and once again was placed on hold awaiting the receptionist to answer. After 5 minutes, I gave up and called Ms William's direct line. She did not answer, instead Ms William's recorded message directed me to send her an E-Mail to contact her. So far, I have not heard from Ferguson. I guess I will have to drive to the store to check on my order. Unbelievably poor service, I will never do busy with this company again. As we are remodeling our kitchen, several people have ask for information on my project. I have them my Ferguson story and said they should avoid doing business with Ferguson. read more

Not a good experience at all. My contractor suggested Ferguson Showroom in Rancho Mirage and to talk with Debbie. I placed a call and it goes to a call center, always. They told me Debbie was not in and I should use build.com by Ferguson rather than call back when Debbie was in. The process was pretty seamless to get things ordered. The toilet bowl arrived a week or so later but was broken. Called in and another was shipped but also arrived broken. A third time was not a charm because it too was broken. Then the next day the tank arrived and, not too hard to believe at this point, the tank was broken. My contactor happened to come by and he told me I really need to go to Ferguson Showroom and talk to Debbie and that she was actually in on this particular day. I made the drive to the store and when I arrived, the staff was hidden but a receptionist came from behind a wall. When I told her my contractor advised me to see Debbie. She picked up a paper and said Debbie was with an appointment and didn't know how long she would be but she would try to find out. As I roamed the store for a minute or two the receptionist brought out a gentleman, David if I remember correctly. I explained the difficulty I had had and he said no problem he would see if he could order them for pickup at the warehouse. I think he entered the part number for the bowl first and then the tank but said the part number I gave him for the tank was in Ebony, I verified that Ebony was what I wanted. He seemed a little frustrated because he had just defaulted to white and didn't ask me about options and now he had to change the order. When he selected Ebony he told me he couldn't get it for me because it wasn't in their warehouse and if it isn't in the warehouse it isn't available for him to order. That seemed odd so I asked for clarification stating, so if Toto shows product but Ferguson doesn't have it in its local warehouse it cannot be ordered? He verified that was correct and that I should use build.com by Ferguson. We spoke back and forth and at one point he changed his story to he COULD order it but it would take too long to get it. I told him I hadn't conveyed a time urgency and that build.com by Ferguson had told me it might take into mid October. He then stated it would take 4-6 weeks. to get it. I told him that is about what I had expected but asked simply is there a way to call or find out if 4-6 weeks was accurate. He snapped back that no, he had told me 4-6 weeks and that was as close as he could estimate. By now our transaction had gone downhill so I thanked him and apologized for inconveniencing him and left. I contacted my contractor and told him about my experience and he was shocked. Maybe if Debbie had helped me it might have been a better experience but I will never know. I left the Ferguson Showroom and went straight to Pacific Sales in Palm Desert. Was greeted promptly and taken back to their bath, sink and fixtures department and the gentleman that waited on me was quick and courteous. He too told me mid October so no surprise there. Everything ordered, paid and out of the store in less than 15 minutes. I would suggest any one considering Ferguson Showroom also visit Pacific sales to compare service and pricing before buying from Ferguson Showroom. read more

Worst customer service EVER.... they could teach a class in ignoring customers and showing complete disinterest in their job. I chose what I wanted and got all of the information myself and then when I wanted to actually pulled out my credit card and place the order, I was told they were closing (in a half hour) and would make an appointment for me tomorrow! I had a half hour to place my order and throw them my money but.... so close to closing time... in 30 minutes. I am sitting in my car and it is 4:55 and they are turning off their lights and beating me out of the parking lot. Last time I was here it was the same scenario. FYI.... this location does not install! We purchased a very expensive custom Bluestar range and hood only to have them drop it off in our drive way. Bought a built-in microwave plus trim kit to the tune of 1K. After an extensive and detailed purchase and installation planning process, two days later someone else from Fergusons called to say they don't install, in spite of the fact that service rep told me they did AND charged me accordingly. This retail store is 5 blocks from my house. Given their prices, I'm shocked at their lack of customer service. Stay away and check yelp for other complaints. read more

Horrible store horrible help, no one to ask any questions, and if you are not dressed Palm springy they kind of usher you out the door . Don't waste your money in this store where the help would rather do nothing than take care of customers. They acted very uppity, but they only work there and don't own the place, good luck to the owner with this kind of help. You'd be better off at IKEA , at least there you get some help. After owning three homes, I realize that you can find what you want almost anywhere now that we have internet. So ... to shop retail, nowadays, SERVICE IS EVERYTHING. We moved to the desert this past year, and need several items for our new home. Of course I went to Ferguson! Granted, it was 12 minutes until closing. You only need less than five to stare up at the ceiling to look at chandeliers, and less than that to see bath sconces. We planned to do a quick walk-through - I know what I'm looking for. As we came through the door we were greeted by a young female salesperson who made sure we saw her glance at her watch and glare. I apologetically said with a smile, "hey i realize you are closing soon - we want to do just a quick glance and will come back if we see any lighting we like." No smile, no assurance she even heard what I'd said. We did exactly that, a quick walk through. As we were looking at lighting, they were turning off lights. It takes less than 60 seconds to walk down an aisle. I understand people want to go home after working all day, however, ANY one of the many sales people could have said ANYTHING to us like, "gee sorry, please come back tomorrow and I'd be glad to help you" .... or "if you see something, let's mark it down and talk about it tomorrow." There was now 10 minutes to close. it had been exactly two minutes. We have been loyal customers of this company for years in Los Angeles. Did we not rattle enough jewels here? I will never return to Ferguson. There are friendlier, more helpful people almost anywhere. read more

I walked into Ferguson and was really impressed by their selection of extremely nice, and high end items for the home. I am in the middle of a remodel, and thought I'd check them out! The day I went, I certainly was not looking my very best (as I am hands on with my remodel project), and I admit, I felt a bit uncomfortable to be there. However, that all changed because of a sales woman named Gayle! Gayle made me feel so welcome, she knew her stuff, and she was so kind and fun to talk to that I became open to wanting to see all that Ferguson had to offer. Long story short, I ended up purchasing multiple items (some of the items I purchased, I thought I was going to purchase from Pacific Sales....LOL). I ended up ordering from Gayle simply because I was super comfortable with her. I am so glad that I met her because she really went the extra mile for me. One of the items I needed was an 18 inch dishwasher. There are not many manufacturers of this odd ball size of dishwasher, and the ones that do exist, are not allowed in California (due to the water restrictions). That being said she found an 18 incher that was possibly allowed in CA, but we couldn't get confirmation of this from anyone. That did not deter Gayle. She called multiple sources to try to figure out if the dishwasher could be shipped to California. It took a couple of days, but she was able to get the dishwasher released and on its way to me. Gayle rocks! I am so appreciative to her for going the extra mile for me....And she will do the same for you too, so ask for Gayle :) read more

Last year we were looking for a particular Kohler apron sink for our laundry room. We went into Ferguson's and met Gayle. She not only had our sink delivered in 3 days, she also saved us 33% off the list price. So, this year when we decided to upgrade our kitchen with a new range and dishwasher we went to see Gayle again. She taught us what was available and helped us decide what would work for our needs. We wound up with a top of the line Thermidor range and dishwasher. As fair traded products they were unable to sell for less than anywhere else. They recommended local guy Curt Brown install them which he did perfectly. There was a small problem with a stove knob, and Gayle immediately ordered a replacement. The service, selection and customer service were great for both of these transactions. read more

We are remodeling our kitchen and are ready to put down at least $15K on new appliances and not one person greeted us or asked us if we needed any help. This showroom is not only a great display of options but they provide customers with the very best in service and help in finding the perfect fit for your home. All the sales representatives are very nice and knowledgeable about their products. I didn't actually read any reviews prior to going to Ferguson about 3 weeks ago. I just knew it was there and am in the market for kitchen appliances as well as bathroom fixtures. We have major upcoming renovation including kitchen and 3 bathrooms. I usually take yelp reviews with a grain of salt as there are so many critics. All I can say is my experience was like so many other reviews here. We were greeted (rather reluctantly) by 'the receptionist'. After that, for the next 20minutes, we were on our own. Not one person approached us. Business must be good! Pirch and or Pacific Sales will be getting our business. read more

I can con cur with this negative review on here about customer service at Ferguson's. This company does not care about new clients. I showed up, albeit a little late for my appt. I talked with this woman "Mimi" at the front customer service desk. She could not have been more cold. She said "We are too busy to see you now." I tried to set up another appt and she played games like "I have an appt on Wed in the morning." and then just stared at me. I finally had ot ask "What does morning mean? 7 AM, 8 AM, 9AM?" This woman was clueless and seemed really bother that I even shows up in the store. It was clear I was a bother to her and was interrupting her busy internet searching. When she asked why I was even there, I explained that I was doing a kitchen remodel. The next words from her mouth was, "We have very little in stock and anything you want will take over a year." There was no, "OK great let see what we can do for you. We are glad you came in today." None of that customer service. I left went across the street to Perch -- everything I wanted was in stock, and I got over 2 hr with a sales person. Skip Ferguson's - this place does not care about customers at all. If they did they would think twice about putting a cold, nasty, rude woman at the front desk to greet people. read more

Our GC recommended going to Ferguson for our plumbing fixtures. We were fully renovating 2 bathrooms and the kitchen, so ended up purchasing a full set of kitchen appliances, as well as all the bathroom(s) fixtures and a rail-light fixture. Have to say that there are a few staff here who are focused on customer service and actually know something about their products. And then there are the staff we ended up "working" ( loose term ) with. Purchased 2 toilets. Had to return for the toilet seats which weren't ordered? Purchased 2 mixing valves for the shower and soaking tub. Had to return for the extensions, again not ordered. Salesperson who "helped" us with the order has never returned a phone call. Takes 2 or 3 e-mails to get a response. Sometimes that is through someone else. Had to be prompted twice to forward the PO to our GC. What we heard repeatedly, was that it's someone else's responsibility or expertise, and that person was always away. They do have a good display of plumbing fixtures. For anything else, lights or kitchen appliances, it 99% from a catalog. BTW, when you read that they are "open" on Saturdays, while technically true, the doors are unlocked and the lights are on, but good luck getting information, creating an order or help with issues on the $15,000 you recently spent. In the past, I've done 3 homes with high-end kitchens and baths with Ferguson's, but thinking I'd get the service I had in the past was a huge mistake. Ferguson's is not the company they once were. Over the past 9 months, I have experienced the worse customer service, in the showroom, in emails, and on the phone. Numerous mistakes forgot to place orders, missed scheduled appointments and extraordinary delays, and unapologetic to any of it. I went across the street to Pirch with a totally different experience. Ferguson's has a beautiful showroom, but don't be fooled into thinking that means good service. Anytime you call to speak to the showroom or parts, your phone calls get fielded through a central office who leaves you on hold for 20 minutes to an hour and since they don't reply to emails, you are left with no choice. Showing up to the showroom doesn't help either unless you schedule an appointment a week or more out. Very frustrating 9 months, never again. I've only taken the time to write one other yelp review, and that is out of responsibility to other unsuspecting customers. read more

After reading the reviews on this page the other evening, I thought they might be fake because so many people told me to ONLY go to Fergusons. Decided to see for myself and the bad reviews were right on! I greeted the receptionist and started looking for a range. NO ONE even approached me. Finally I stopped some one who immediately told me he didn't really work there, but he would try to help me. First problem is there is nothing to see. Kitchen vignettes are limited. I was looking for a GE or Samsung (don't carry) but as I said they had few models. Today I went to Pacific Sales and was so impressed. The worst customer service ever. We came in to look at new kitchen appliances and left with nothing but a bad taste in our mouths from this store. It was obviously an effort for the girl at the front desk to greet us. There were no other customers in the store so I was surprised that they weren't happy to see one. That said we walked around for a few minutes even passing by the sales clerks desks (and yes folks, your are sales clerks) and not one of the three could be bothered to even acknowledge us. Too busy on the phone to even wave or cover the mouthpiece and say they'd be right with us. We went to Pacific Sales and while the showroom wasn't as nice the people were great. The prices were good and the showroom was full of customers. We actually had to wait a while for help but we stayed because no one gave us attitude. Just a message to the folks at Ferguson; NEVER pre-judge your clients. I may have looked a bit scruffy but if you had looked a little closer (and out the front door at my car) you just might have gotten the 25k I spent 2 hours later at Pacific. But I guess that's the price you pay when you pick and choose who you talk to! read more

After wanting to choke myself with the lack of service and selection at the major hardware stores I stumbled upon Ferguson by complete accident. Upon entering I was greeted by a friendly receptionist who gave me a basic layout of the store. After browsing for a few minutes I was greeted by Daniel. Daniel helped explained the differences in each appliance and helped narrow down the selection to just 2 models. Coming from many years of retail it was refreshing to work with someone who took the time to uncover my needs rather than try to push me onto the big commission maker. read more

We have been to the Ferguson's in Sacramento which has excellent service and is so helpful, so it must just be this local branch's problem. Run, do not walk, TO Ferguson's and away from the big box retailers, (and especially Pacific Sales, where my experience has been that you get it THEIR way, not yours.) Just finished buying from Ferguson's for a kitchen refacing. Not only did they fill the order, to be ready the next day for pick-up at the warehouse in Indio, (where, incidentally, the kids behind the counter were also terrific) they made other recommendations for the job that resulted in money savings. Before I went to Ferguson's in Rancho Mirage, I read the reviews on Yelp. I was apprehensive. My parents are remodeling their kitchen and bathroom and we wanted to spend the time speaking with an expert. When we first went to Ferguson's we were put off because they were closed on a Saturday. This makes it difficult for us working folks. The second time we we went, there were two ladies on the phone speaking to customers and we were left on our own for quite a long time. Finally, when we were able to speak to a salesperson, I indicated that I was a little miffed by the lack of customer service at the store and that I had read reviews on Yelp referring to thesame issue. Much to my surprise, our salesperson, Michelle, went on to apologize and explain that the store primarily worked with contractors and opened a showroom for "appointments." They really weren't prepared for the influx of retail customers and were in the process of hiring more staff to accommodate the increase in business. I was happy that Michelle didn't shy away from my comment but addressed it in what seemed to be a reasonable and understandable explanation. She went on to assist us with plumbing products for my parents remodel and has been an excellent resource for the many questions we had. I would highly recommend Ferguson's based on my experience with Michelle. The remodel is complete and all the products were ordered and delivered as promised. Michelle has gone out of her way on several occasions to research some questions I had. It's great to work with someone who is professional and clearly likes what they do. Ferguson's Doesn't Deserve ANY Stars! We're remodeling our 4 bedroom desert home and needed everything - 4 bathrooms faucets/sinks/accessories to the Laundry Room and Kitchen. Our Contractor suggested we visit the Ferguson Showroom - I did and it was a very unpleasant experience. The staff was curt, condescending, and basically stone cold. The showroom wasn't busy - it was dead. I left after selecting a few items, I couldn't take another minute. I sent my husband back and he too promptly walked out after his encounter with staff member Ms. Kinder. He went down the road to Fixtures (Ferguson's completion) and found their staff to be friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. We ordered everything we needed and left with a smile!! read more

Don't shop here unless you don't care how much money you spend and have no idea what you want. They'll steer you to really high priced stuff. There are NO DEALS here....prices are very high. Wish we could give it a ZERO! As with the other posts, we had the identical experience. The "receptionist" told us to look around and if we wanted some help to let her know and she would send a salesperson. We were coming in to BUY a sub-zero refrigerator and dishwasher drawers and after looking around, I went to the front desk to ASK for a salesperson. Some man came over-- never introduced himself or welcomed us and said "what do you want?" We told him we wanted to BUY a sub-zero refrigerator and Fischer Paykel dish drawers. He looked us like -- OK-- so what do you want? We asked about dimensions, depth, and then asked about the different cubic inch capacities. He said "sub-zeros do not go buy that-- just the size of the refrigerator. Really? Then he said they didn't have any dish drawers on the floor, but they would order them for us if WE gave them the model we wanted!!! We couldn't get out of there fast enough. I did ask for the dimensions of the sub-zero and he did get a sheet on the fridge after we waited about 10 minutes (which included the cubic inch capacity of both the fridge and freezer compartments)! We then went to Pacific Sales. They were GREAT -- couldn't have been friendlier, more knowledgeable and more helpful. PACIFIC SALES got our business. Ferguson needs better customer service and a major attitude adjustment. read more
