I hired them to repair a broken sewer/clay tile under my home that had been causing my basement to flood whenever it rained. I had been dealing with this issue since earlier this year and stayed in communication with Vicky and Crystal in the office throughout the process. Once the work began, their crew completed the repair within two days, even while dealing with bad weather, which I truly appreciated. Because the damaged area was underground, they had to break open the concrete directly in front of the walkway leading to my porch. After completing the repair, they poured new concrete and installed access caps for future service. I had absolutely no issue with having access caps installed. My issue is how the caps were left. As you can see in the photo, the square pieces protrude above the concrete in the middle of a walking area. This creates a tripping hazard for my family, guests, delivery drivers, or anyone walking to my front porch. I contacted the company and was told they would return to install inverted/recessed caps to correct the problem. It has now been approximately two weeks. Each time I have spoken with Vicky, I have been told she would call me right back or get me on the schedule, but that has not happened. Now my calls are going unanswered. That is extremely disappointing because communication was not a problem while the job was being scheduled and paid for. I paid for the work in full and simply want the area they opened to be restored in a way that is safe to walk across. I shouldn't have to repeatedly call and chase a company to correct something they have already acknowledged needs to be addressed. I appreciate that Do Right Rooter resolved the original plumbing issue, but customer service should not end once payment is received. I would gladly update this review if they return and properly correct the access caps as promised.

After my last call, they provided information to email one of the team members directly, but it had been weeks of waiting by that point and other companies came through with estimates, so I went ahead and scheduled the work with a different company. I still have yet to hear from this company, and presumably I'm still fourth in line. Communication and follow up is poor., but obviously can't comment on their plumbing work in this review, so take that with a grain of salt.

Tim quoted me a perfectly reasonable price to avoid the relatively likely event of catastrophe should I have attempted the installation myself. He was very amenable and willing to work around my schedule, first scheduling to do it while I was on vacation. I was off the grid, but when I got access to my voicemail, there was one from Tim, saying he looked at the system and it entailed a bit more than he previously thought and he was studying up to make sure the job was done right. A week later he came, completed the job perfectly and charged me the original price. Tim has earned my trust and will be my call for plumbing needs from here on out.

He was recommended to me and I first called him to fix my kitchen sink and replace the leaking faucet. I called on a Sunday, he came out Monday on time and was done in under an hour for a reasonable rate. The next night, Chicago had some torrential rains that caused us to get sewer water and actual solid sewage in the basement. I called him and he came out the next day. He actually said he could come that night but I wasn't going to be home till late. He rodded the main line and catch basin and everything was flowing just fine when he left. That same evening we had another flash flood, and the basement started backing up again (infuriating)...We called and he came back out at 10 o' clock at night on his way back from another job and did not charge because he had just been there! He flushed everything back out the main line and we have not had a problem since. It is very reassuring to deal with someone who is so responsive, and stands by his work. He calls back quickly, he's flexible, will come out evenings and weekends, and he's honest. You can hire him knowing that he's not going to screw you, even if he has to come back out if something goes wrong. Another thing that is good to know for anyone who is looking at major, expensive plumbing repairs (like install new copper lines for X thousands of dollars...) he can take a credit card for big jobs. I have already recommended him to several co-workers.
