Located a block pass the Welcome to Old Town Yuba City Plenty of off street parking. Ordered take out. We ordered: Red Pork Posele $15.95 Excellent flavor. Loaded with tender chunks of pork. Just a tiny bit of heat. Yea hominey!! The menu says it comes with chips...it does not. It did come with 2 tortillas. Chicken strips $10.95 Good flavor. I love the honey basil combo. But the strips were a little on the dry side...the homemade ranch dip is more like a dill cream sauce. It does do well with the chicken. Calamari Appetizer $12.95 Really lightly battered. OK, it needs the supporting dips to bring out the full flavor. Not sure I would come back...the quality/quanity/cost ratio leans towards the expensive side.

The food was okay. I tried the pasta but it was different from what I expected, definitely not a creamy Alfredo or white sauce. The menu said heavy cream but the sauce on my pasta was really watery. Not sure if that is how it is meant to be. The service was great, the staff was nice, and the place is clean and well kept. Overall, an okay experience.

This restaurant is located in the heart of what is downtown Yuba City and serves up a really diverse menu. The staff here is super friendly. The inside of the restaurant is brick with high ceilings which gives it a really cool vibe. I'd been wanting to try their food for some time now and it surpassed my expectations in every way. We started with chips and salsa. They weren't complimentary but I suggest ordering them as the chips are thick and crunchy, the pico is piled high with great flavors. My girlfriend, her mother and I looked over the menu. The pasta here stood out to me as I had seen pics on Yelp. They both decided to go with the carnitas plate. Once the food arrived I was impressed by the huge portions, every plate was filled to the edge. My pasta came with two big slices of garlic bread which although really good was strong with garlic flavor, I liked it but my lady was taken back by it a bit. The pasta itself was amazing, the Portuguese pasta comes with linguica, chicken and shrimp as the proteins. So many deep flavors on this dish it will be hard to go back and order anything else! This was one of the best dishes I've had at a restaurant in a long time. This restaurant deserves your visit if you can make the trip, you won't be disappointed. I plan on trying more of their pasta and also the calamari. The chef and kitchen here take dishes to new heights and I can't wait to visit again.

I love their Pozole! Best in town. I love coming here in the winter and getting hot soup. Their burritos are amazing too. Highly recommend.

Oh my word! This place was heavenly! While visiting my momma in Cali this weekend we wanted to have some lunch before I toodled back home to Reno. My first and her second. It was beyonddd Amazing! Three appetizers and two meals later. Absolutely everything was incredible! The classic and mango margarita...Sooo good ! The waitress knew the menu very well so it was helpful to us deciding what to order. It's very chill inside also. It was very peaceful! Over all absolutely amazing! 10/10!

I've been wanting to try out Fernando's Cali kitchen for over a year now, and i finally got the chance to do so with a couple friends. Their entrance sports many doors from the outside, however many of them are locked! The parking is difficult, so plan on flipping U-turns and practicing your parallel skills. Once inside, the atmosphere is fine, however there is no music playing and the tables are cramped. The menu is definitely different than what you can find online, so plan accordingly and definitely expand your budget. Fernando's sports a specials menu as well, which is what I ended up ordering from for dinner. We started with Calamari, quesadillas, chips and salsa and tempura prawns. For main courses, we tried the lobster alfredo, a wet burrito, and some nacho fries. The lobster was a little rubbery, and the tempura prawns were more like deep fried prawns. The sweet chili dipping sauce was fantastic!. My poor friend was completely grossed out by the nacho fries, as the potatoes were soft and the quality of the meat was possibly out of a can. I hope she survives the night and doesn't end up at Adventist Ride Out Memorial Hospital. Lol? The restaurant has some internal confusion on display. While the dishes and the pricing may suggest fine dining, their casual cups and odd portion sizes dispel that appearance. The calamari was infant sized and we were treated to plastic cups for soft drinks. Overall I would rate this a 7/10, and would return only after trying the other restaurants on my list. Our server was fantastic though! Enjoy.

WOW!!! Dining at its best. We had the prawns, Sonoma salad, shrimp scampi, carnitas tacos with rice and beans. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. Atmosphere wonderful great music. Service was outstanding. You could hear the cook singing while he was cooking. That's happy food. If you haven't been here or if it's been awhile please check it out. One of Yuba cities finest. I just have to say that this is my favorite place to eat in YC... I have NEVER had a meal I didn't like there! The lobster roll is like one of the best things I've ever put I. My mouth! Food is great. Vibe is excellent. One of the servers is not the friendliest person in the world. Young girl who rolls her eyes and the whole immature teenage thing. But rest of the servers are great. I still recommend this spot. read more

Absolutely unsatisfying. I came here to dine with with my grandma after an extremely long trip from Los Angeles. We had high expectations considering all the 5 star reviews but I'm assuming people around here aren't familiar with a decent restaurant to eat at. It took them 20 mins to show us the specials menu, when it was literally right at the front. Took them another 45 mins to get the chips out to us cause they were in the "fryer" . I just don't understand how difficult it is to make chips when your local taqueria always has a fat batch right in front for you to grab. Food comes out and they forget to give us essentials, No forks , no napkins, no salvation. Tried the Cali burrito and it was literally just jam packed with fries. Barely any meat and only like 3 shrimps. I think Chandos Tacos offers a better burrito , hell maybe even Adalberto's . If I could rate this place no stars then I would , but it definitely isn't worth it and not 5 stars. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. I wish to speak to Fernando myself. Not to mention their tables are terrible , kept wobbling side to side as if they bought them off Facebook Marketplace. Cali fries had a great taste and they have great customer service. Only thing I ask is to have the carne asada with less fat, I would go again to try other plates. Waited 50 minutes for food to arrive, but they didn't give us silverware so we couldn't eat it. Place was too smokey so after another 5 minutes trying to flag someone down for forks we decided to just leave. Got up, paid, and they gave us boxes, but still not silverware to transfer the food to boxes. We made do, ate in our car, and one of us was ill all night from the excess oil and garlic. Overall a miserable experience. read more

What a great spot; a hidden gem. This is not a 5 star fancy restaurant, but it deserves a 5 start rating because it's the best of what it is. Great Mexican and Italian food. What a combination! The owner caMe out and greeted us, he was engaged with all of the tables and monitored what was happening in the dining room as well as the quality of the food being prepared. That's some first class quality control. Bottom line: delicious food, go get some. read more

I absolutely love the food and have been going here after work once a week and referring so many people here but last night the owner was extremely rude to my best friend. She asked for a glass of wine and it tasted flat as if it had expired. She was nice about it and asked to see if they had anything else. She asked if she could just sample before she committed to another glass. The owner in the back Fernando himself said " This is not Sams club, we don't give out free samples." Wow!!! After all we come and spend there that blew me away. She was going to stay for me but hell No!!! They were cooking our food so we told them we will pay for her new glass of wine and leave. That was extremely rude and I will not go back. The older lady waitress is the best. She seems newer and super sweet every time we go in. She apologized for what happened. Again, the food is amazing but that comment was not called for, and the way he treated her. It was maybe a $10 bottle of wine compared to all of our food that he lost a sale on. read more

I was really looking forward to getting a late lunch at Cilantros as I drove through Yuba City on my way home from the Sacramento airport, but when I pulled up at the curb, I saw that Fenandos had replaced Cilantros. I decided to try it and am super glad that I did. This place was clean and the food wasn't greasy or high fat at all. I enjoyed the chips and house made fresh salsa. I also enjoyed my fish tacos. They were made with an excellent fresh and firm fish and topped with lovely fresh vegetables and a delicious sauce. I highly recommend Fernando's food and am looking forward to returning for another excellent meal. read more

So my fiancé and I came here after getting him from Beale AFB and this little family run place is PHENOMENAL! Absolutely delicious and ran by a man and his family, very wholesome. The food was incredible and came out quickly. Service was great, top notch. The man who took our order even combined the scampi and chicken piccatta just for me with NO EXTRA COST! This has fast become my favorite place to eat. I have come to the conclusion that the food is as good if not better than Pasquini's. Prices are reasonable, food is amazing and they have the best flan I've ever tasted. He always has a few specials, I recommend the carnitas (best I've had in the area)!! His calamari which is on the menu is heavenly. I've tried 5 or 6 different entrees and they all have been absolutely delicious!! He's going to need to expand he is getting so busy. Don't miss trying this little gem you'll thank yourself if you do!!! read more

Salsa had good flavor and the food came out in about 10 minutes. Flavor was excellent on all our meals, chili verde burrito, chicken chimichangas. I would definitely go to this spot again. For what it is, the price range and the flavor of the food it gets full stars.

Where do I begin? The waitress was very nice and professional and had a great personality over the phone which was a good start. When I went into the building no one had masks on, not the cooks and not the waitress that spoke with me on the phone, there was no indication of a mask mandate in the restaurant. I ordered a few things and paid for my order which was decently priced, about $11 per item. I got home and opened it and immediately was disappointed, the food looked horrible and smelt unappetizing. The samon was cooked mediocre and was drenched in lemon making it very inedible and it resemble eating a lemon head but I moved on and let that slide. After that I got to the shrimp scampi and realized immediately that the shrimp still had the tails on them so you have to stick your hand into the scampi and remove the tails which took a few minutes before I could enjoy my meal. The shrimp tasted like frozen shrimp that was taken out of the freezer and dethawed in the pan and was absolutely disgusting. I ordered Sriracha chicken and let me tell you it was AMAZING. The chicken is mouth watering and every bit is a bite of heaven. Add ranch to it and thank not me later but them. My husband and I were visiting Yuba City from the San Francisco North Bay area and saw Fernando's Cali Kitchen, looked it up on Yelp and saw that the reviews were very good.
