I like the way the restaurant looked and the wait staff was certainly attentive. The food was meh at best. I had the prawns and prosciutto pasta. Some garlic bread would have covered a multitude of flavors missing. Also, restaurants that don't serve bread with the meal and charge for chips and salsa seem desperate. I would love to give 5 stars because Fernando's food is amazing!! But it's unfortunate that one person on his waitstaff (his wife or girlfriend) has one of the worst personalities I've ever experienced. Just off the main drag, this small place was bustling at lunchtime. And for good reason. I had a wet chicken burrito. You could see grill marks on the chicken, a good sign. The sauce was plentiful and delicious and the burrito had ratios of meat and rice and cheese just right. My wife had a taco salad, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Very good food however waitress was very lost and confused. She forgot to bring items out and we had to remind her multiple times. Also she didn't know how to split the tab properly and we had to pay with one card. This was my first time having her as my waitress she might be new. read more

We have been wanting to try this place out & so happy we did! Went on a Thursday evening & were greeted right away & told to pick out a table which we did. Not sure if it's cause it was like almost 7pm & it was on a weekday, but so many great things when we went: * greeted & seated quickly * drinks & food came quickly * staff/service was friendly, quick, & efficient & although it was near closing (8pm), they didn't make us feel rushed at all * food was really good: pastas were excellent, calamari were cooked perfectly: light & crispy, fish tacos were a generous size & tasty, wet burrito wasn't our favorite dish there, it was slightly on the sweet side for us, lobster roll (special day item) was ok & garlic fries were tasty but needed to fry just a tad longer as we like ours on the crispier side Go check them out if you're in the area or are undecided on what to eat. Which is impossible to find in this town. The special board is where it's at, but bring enough people with you that you can order the tacos as well for the table. This place has amazing food! We never go to Marysville but had to make a run up there from Sacramento. We were told to go here so we gave it a try. We got the prawns appetizer, the fish tacos, and a wet carnitas burrito. We were in heaven with all of the delicious food and were shocked at how good things were especially for the price. Only thing I had here is the carne asada nachos, they were really good. Good authentic taste. The meat was good. I'm really picky about carne asada. I do not like the chewies in mine...lol this place had none the meat was delicious. Food was fresh. The workers are really friendly . I got a Togo order the food was prepared in a reasonable time. I didn't pay much attention to the inside but it's on the small side but cute place. As good as the food is here they really need a bigger place. The outside of the Fernandos is really cute. The only bad part is the parking I circled many times, parking here is awful. It's right off Plumas street so it's extra busy in that area with limited parking. I will most defiantly eat here again & I have told all my friends about it. read more

Service was exceptional! We shared an order of calamari and it was gone in a flash. Everyone loved it! It came with two sauces that were very tasty and had a little kick. Two of us had the fish tacos. They were good, but I think we expected out of this world amazing fish tacos based on the previous reviews. One person had shrimp scampi and said it was delicious. Another had the seafood pasta and also said it was superb. Both wished the pastas were served with bread, but were not disappointed. The restaurant itself is quaint and clean. Everything was superb even our lemonade and watermelon fresca was great. The place was very busy during lunch so the wait for our check was a little slow but we didn't mind. Open just two months as of this writing, with restaurant owner Fernando still serving customers and growing slowly primary Cuisine is primarily Mexican and decor gives off a Southwest vibe. That said their menu, while a single-pager, has a fair bit of diversity to offer and some hidden gems. For lunch I had the Tri-Tip sandwich with garlic fries and side salad. You won't often find me getting hyped about rabbit food but the Sonoma greens side salad was outstanding. The TT sandwich was as savory as advertised and the garlic fries were deliciously pungent. All in all a very enjoyable meal and overall experience. I will return! read more

Can't say enough good things about this place! The food is phenomenal, staff was so friendly and helpful. The made an off-the-menu quesadilla and French fries for my toddler, also off-the-menu fresh made chips and queso. My 10 year old devoured a good chunk of the Cali fries and has tons more for later. I have been coming to Fernando's since they open. I love everything that I have ordered. I did learn that his spicy is very spicy. So I'll order the tacos with the sauce on the side. He does have the best salmon in town. And his salads are to die for. You could always call in orders for pick up or sit inside to dine. Highly recommended this place.
