The pizza we had was sooo much better than anything we've had in years. Almost passed them by. The pizza came out pretty quickly and then we ate until we almost exploded (in a good way!). Comfy atmosphere and super friendly staff. We also sampled (as in, ate every bite) the lasagna, the eggplant, and the gluten-free pasta. All very good! We stopped here from Eureka where we were staying to grab a pizza before heading to the beach. Inside was small but noticed they offered dine in with the distancing curtains. The cashier was nice and took care washing her hands before gathering some plates and utensils I requested which was much appreciated. We ordered a large Works pizza. Cheese was on top of all of the toppings (pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, and olive). Overall pizza was good, solid. I've had better but a safe bet if in the area and wanting pizza. read more

Stopped by this place during a road trip up to the Avenue of Giants! Our Air BnB was in Ferndale, so we decided to grab dinner in DT Ferndale. To start, my friends and I got a large plate of salad to share (only one trip to the salad bar). They have a pretty basic salad selection and 4 types of dressing to choose from. It made us feel a lot better to balance the rest of our meal :P We also got the garlic cheesy bread. This was nothing special, and could have skipped on this. We asked for marinara sauce and ranch with the bread. We loved the marinara sauce so much that we ended up asking for more to add to our pizza. Be careful though, it is extremely hot. The pizza here is so good! It's really fresh and extremely cheesy. Be careful when picking up a slice of pizza! Every time we picked a slice up, all of the topping would just slide off. It didn't matter to us though, because the it was just that good! Our favorite was definitely the Californian, which had white sauce, chicken, and garlic. SO GOOD. If I'm ever back in this area, I already KNOW I'm hitting this place up. read more

I made reservations for a party of 11. The restaurant kindly put us in our own table at the back of the restaurant where we had privacy. Some in our party had gluten intolerances and one was a vegan. The restaurant had gluten-free pizza and also allowed the vegan to bring his own special "cheese". The pizzas were fantastic. The server was wonderful and very helpful. She even spent some time telling us about the movies that have been made in Ferndale. Overall, it was a fabulous experience and I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

I would've reviewed it more highly but when the pizza came it was very heavy - usually not a problem - but this one had all our requested toppings absolutely smothered in too much cheese. We love this homey Italian place. We were staying at Francis Creek Inn in 2019 and this was a perfect spot for tasty pasta comfort food. Lasagne was really good. The service was great. We came back this year 2020 and it was again a convenient location near our B&B The Shaw House Inn. The pizza is DELISH and super cheesy. We created our own pizza. Good portion size. A true gem of a restaurant. New to the area my husband and I stopped in around lunchtime after a hike nearby. They have both outdoor seating and indoor seating. To be honest, I thought this was a really small establishment considering how it appears on the outside, but I was quite surprised to see how much seating there was inside, wrapping all the way down the side of the building. Not what I would expect from the outside. The staff here was extremely chipper and pleasant, eager to chat and serve and were extremely proactive. Never once did we want for anything. For lunch we ordered the "Cowboy" pizza which was extremely good in the end. At first it came out fresh and PIPING HOT right out of the oven and there appeared to be a grease puddle that I swore would make eating super difficult... BUT! I just had to let it cool a little and all was well. It was a super cheesy pizza which meant I had to start each slice out with a knife and fork so I could pick it up without it flopping everywhere, but it was all worth it. Hot Cowgirl pizza the crust is amazing! One of the best pizza combos we've had. We travel quite a bit and we have to say this is one of the most memorable pizzas in our books. May look like your ordinary pizza, but wait until you get to that edge where you hold the pizza. This is probably one of the best pizza/Italian places I've ever been to. We ordered the works pizza and two lasagna plates. The meatballs are to die for and are definitely worth it, they are about the size of a baseball. I also thought it was pretty cool how they have different noodles in their lasagna plates such as shells, penne i believe and then the normal lasagna pasta. We got to Ferndale late so the only thing open was this pizza place. What luck. They have more than pizza but we ordered a pizza -- the works, which is really just four toppings. It was very good and I'd definitely order it again. I might be tempted to try other things on the menu to see if they do equally well though. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. My family goes way back with Skip and this pizza place. I can't tell you the number of hours we spent in the arcade in the back, or the amount of salad I downed as a kid. However on this trip, the food let me down. The portion size was huge, the food was greasy and it ended up making me sick. I even got my ravioli with a sausage I didn't order. The salad bar is still as tasty as it ever was, with iceberg lettuce, potato salad and ranch dressing... mmm pizza place salads... but even though the service and the salad were tops, it's just not a place we'd make sure to stop by on our next trip. Best pizza ever!!! I make a point to ALWAYS get a pizza before l leave town to go home. (Ling 15 minute drive when your smelling that amazing pizza). We will take a few kids to ride horses at the fairgrounds in wintertime. I ALWAYS go to two places in Ferndale. No Brand Burger stand and FERNDALE PIZZA. The cheese they use is not that prepackaged shredded cheese. At least it sure does not taste that way!! This cheese is baked golden brown.
