After driving on Mattole Rd for what seemed like hours from the Lost Coast, we came upon this cute town called Ferndale. We parked the car and walked around, visited some shops and since we were getting a bit famished we decided to eat at the Ferndale Pizza co. They have a lunch buffet but we decided to order a la carte. I ordered the half and half (half lasagna and half ravioli) and my wife ordered a spaghetti with meatballs. Amazing pizza! They have a few small tables out front and also serve take-n-bake or take home fully cooked. We stopped here after walking the main street and liked it so much we went back the following night. We ordered their Wildcat (mascot of the high school) with onions and were not only not disappointed but surprised just how good it was. As the other reviewers say, there is no need to order extra cheese, it comes like that. Even the crust is delicious. They have a full menu but it would be hard to try anything else, knowing how good the pizza is. If you are staying here or just passing through, stop here for a pizza. read more

The food was wicked tasty, there was tons of delicious cheese on top of plenty of toppings. We had the Cowboy, the Ferndale and the Veggie (there were seven of us) and all were stellar! However, the real stand out here was really the service! John was phenomenal! His section was packed with several large parties (some more obnoxious than others) and he never stopped smiling! This is by far the best pizza I've ever had! In a small town before Eureka over the eel river. I had the Californian pizza which has white sauce, garlic, and chicken. So good! This is a hard one for me. Ferndale Pizza has great pizza and a mediocre salad bar. The enviorment was pretty good until this lady with a vacuum comes out and disdurbs your prime Italian experience. On top of this, my Father walks in he says buon giorno! To this, the cashier looks away and has no idea what to say. But don't let all of this shy you away from the restaurant because the pizza and salad is great and will leave you satisfied by the end of your stay. read more

The local spur gingling, hat wearing cowboy with his horse in the trailer parked on the street outside who drops in to pick up his favorite pizza... The "cowboy". We enjoyed watching the fun loving, good natured locals of this rural farming community gather at the Ferndale Pizza Co. My husband and I split a mini "cowboy" pizza and lasagna on the recommendation of our waitress. It was perfect for the two of us. And their bread is delicious! I don't understand all the hype, slow service, poor pizza - too much grease and cheese. The sandwiches are not bad but thin.

The waiters there are so nice plus the service is great! I would recommend trying the pizza it's absolutely delicious.

I would drive all The way from Kneeland California 45 minutes passed the airport all the way to Ferndale PIZZA just to eat the spaghetti and bread here again. The bread was so soft and warm as if it was pulled straight from the oven and the sauce on the pasta oh my god. Don't even get me started that stuff was amazingly good. I grew up and live in San Francisco, and for the last few years, my wife and I like to come to Ferndale for a few days to unwind from the city. Every time we have visited this awesome city, we visit this place and I have to say I love the pizza. I love the look of the place; it has a very homely inviting aura and has very polite, professional service. This time around, we couldn't dine in bc of the virus but I still left feeling like a valued customer. For me, living in a very expensive city and not making al ot of money being that guy looking from the outside in, it's very refreshing when you get treated a certain way when you spend your hard earned money. I mean, my pizza place I order from in sf has everyone chain smoking in front of the shop wearing sweatpants like they are going to play a pick up game of basketball. The pizza 3 out of 5 times usually has the cheese almost completely falling off the crust, dripping juice so bad. Seriously, sometimes the pizza is about to fall through the box. It's just so hit or miss. So after eating what this place has to offer, it compelled me to write a review. I don't write too many reviews and they are usually goofy ones. But thank you guys. You guys got the bomb shit. I especially love the cheese. read more

This review is solely from a phone call: I asked "do you have personal pizzas?" Because I didn't see them on the menu here on yelp. The lady says "yes, but I can only do one per tag" so what you are saying is that you will make 4 personal pizzas for 4 strangers, but you won't make 4 personal pizzas for 4 friends? That's the dumbest policy I know. Here... Swipe my card 4 times then!! Regardless... I just wanted one- so it's beyond the point. So I said "ok, I just want one" then she says ok and takes my order. Here's your total. Oh, and we don't open for 45 minutes- so that personal pizza will take an hour.... Might have been a good thing to say BEFORE I placed my order. Anyways- long story short: stupid people, stupid policies, lost my business. Went to west side pizza in fortuna. Great choice, good pizza, $4 for 2 slices and a soda. Stopped here on our way back from Avenue of Giants. Best pizza I've ever had! The town is also really cool with almost all Victorian homes. Usually I don't like a lot of cheese on my pizza and they pile it on thick. But the cheese here is so fresh it's very, very good. The crust is also awesome. The only thing I would change is putting the toppings on the top so they crisp instead of under the cheese. The pizza re-heats in the microwave great too! Passing through from out of town. Typical local pizza joint vibe- gingham tablecloths, arcade games in the back, really cute. We ordered pizza, ravioli with meatball and salad bar. PIZZA- good cheese and toppings, crust was okay, slices were super uneven (which sounds petty, but not when you get the smallest slice, haha) RAVIOLI- great size, well cooked, yummy sauce MEATBALL- pretty good flavor and texture SALAD BAR- good options on the bar, if a little simple. But way too much iceberg lettuce in comparison to others in the mix. However, there was a separate bowl of spinach I wish I saw sooner. SERVICE- Excellent! OK, so I was up here for the first time in 9 years and drooling at the chance to have their pizza again. But then, I'd heard a few of by buddies swear that their pasta is to die for. I was swayed and ended up ordering the basic Alfredo. Lucky for me, the rest of the group ordered pizza and I was able to mooch off of them. Honestly, the Alredo was the most bland and flavorless that I've ever had and this review would've been a 1 star had it not been for the redeeming qualities of the pizza. Same as I remember it....amazing, fresh, insanely tasty cheese. So it evened it out to an A-OK this time. Afterwards I went back to my friends to confront them about their poor advice. Apparently the correct pasta to go with is the plain spaghetti or other red-sauce options. Regardless, next time I go I think I'll be sticking with the pizza...if it ain't broke, don't fix it. read more

Really amazing pizza. We aren't from around here but will remember this place for when we come back. After a disappointing meal at Angelina last night...this place blew it out of the water. The pizza was covered with local made cheese, toppings underneath, and had a thick and flavorful crust. Even my mother who doesn't like thick crust was a fan of the pizza. The ravioli and lasagna were also a hot at the table along with the delicious bread. We heard good things about the salad bar but didn't try it this time. There were plenty of tables inside with cute and cozy decor. This seems like the perfect place for a satisfying family meal. This will be at the top of our list the next time we come to the Fortuna area. read more
