Fern's Mobile Auto Service -- Look no further! Five stars in my book. Fernando is fair, honest, knowledgeable, and very personable. I originally bought a high-performance front brake kit thinking "bigger is better," and ordered the upgraded size parts that still fit instead of the standard factory size. What I didn't realize was that using the upgraded parts would require several additional components that were not included in the kit. Based on his experience, Fernando explained that installing that kit would require additional special-order parts, turn into a much bigger job, and be far more expensive than originally anticipated. Since this was a right-away project and not something I wanted to turn into a long, ongoing repair, he suggested it would make more sense to return the kit and call him back once I had the correct factory-size parts. Since the install couldn't move forward that day, he still took the time to re-grease the wheel bearings, replace the cotter pins, and make sure everything was properly reassembled so the truck was safe to drive on the road again. He also checked my rear brakes and let me know they were getting low, recommending that I do both front and rear at the same time, which just made sense. I asked him how much I owed him for his time, and the amount was extremely fair -- honestly, it felt low for the time and care he put in, so I tipped him on top of that. When the parts came in, he did both the front and back brakes, and while performing the work he shared other things he observed that may need attention, whether in the near future or just as part of normal maintenance. I'm definitely looking forward to working with him again on the next project for my truck. That kind of honesty and professionalism truly makes a difference -- Integrity in Action! As often happens with older models that have not been well maintained, one thing led to another with the thermostat housing needing replacement to make the truck drivable. I was working on my car and I ended up stripping a couple of bolts that needed to be removed off of the throttle body. I tried multiple ways to remove the stripped bolts myself, but I obviously didn't have all the tools or experience needed to get the job done as these bolts did not want to move one bit. I looked around Yelp for some mobile mechanics, but he was the most consistent with communication and was the only one who did not quote me an outrageous amount just to get two bolts out of the throttle body. With full effort and determination, he was able to get the job done in a short amount of time and I paid exactly what was quoted to me + tip. It was not a big auto repair job and it was a smaller job, but it was a very tedious one and he was still down to make the drive here to help. Fernando was very professional and seemed like a really good guy as well. This guy was so great that I had to go on here and leave a review because he deserves it. And I don't even leave Yelp reviews like that--I just read them! 12/10 I highly recommend. And I am definitely calling him the next time I need help with my car. Fernando is HIM!!!! read more
