    Italian home fries
    Kathleen R.

Went here on the recommendation of a friend. Not on the main throat of Schenectady but worth the trip! The ambiance is reminiscent of a set from the Sopranos.' We ordered the Italian home fries and the Shrimp Scampi appetizers . Dishes are described as 'generous.' This is an understatement. The home fries could easily have been a dish for two. It was a spicy dish but the sauce was incredibly delicious, as was the Scampi sauce. The shrimp were done to perfection. My husband enjoyed his Veal Marsala and I, the Eggplant Parmigiana- each served with a more than generous side of pasta with red sauce which was on the sweet side , similar to my homemade sauce. After dinner coffee was robust and delicious.Set it very was attentive and friendly. We shall return here when we visit Albany in the next month!!

We decided to try Ferrari's based on recommendations from several friends who love the food here. The reviews that I read convinced me that the drive over would be well worth it. I entered the establishment with reservations, and I was shown to my table immediately. The dining room was busy and I liked that the tables had table cloths and napkins in place. I was surrounded by dark wood decor and furniture which suggested that this place has been here quite awhile. The staff were attentive and friendly. We were given a nice sized basket of assorted fresh bread with butter as we looked over the menu. It certainly wasn't easy, deciding what to have as there were so so many tasty options. We started with a very generous portion of fried calamari which was cooked to perfection served with marinara sauce along with a hot antipasto. For mains we had veal pepe, veal scallopini, veal parm, eggplant parm and haddock puttanesca. All came with a lovely house salad with mixed greens roasted peppers, olives and cheese with a vinaigrette served family style. The orders came with a side of pasta of your choice. Portions here are large so you'll definitely be able to take some to go. And who wouldn't love to have such good eats for lunch the next day? We finished off our meal with house made desserts, pistachio cheesecake, chocolate mousse cake, tiramisu my personal favorite and a serving of tortoni an almond flavored ice cream yum! Ferrari's does not disappoint and most certainly lives up to its name. I had an exceptional dining experience here and I'll be back to try other dishes that they are known for!

In love with this upstate institution for 3+ decades. It's one on of the best upstate. The server Anthony is super welcoming and makes you feel right at home. All the dishes pack plenty of flavor and value. You get the most delicious fresh pastas and sauces, along with bounty of a proportion that you can take plenty of to go bags to savor the meal again and again. My go to is the homemade cavatelli and white clam sauce. A stunner of a dish. You will be so satisfied coming here.

The businesses are located a couple of blocks from the gateway marking the entrance to Schenectady's Little Italy. So much history, food and romance in this neighborhood. We had Sunday brunch at More Perreca's. The bakery is closed on Sunday but I got a Sausage Lettuce Tomato sandwich served on toasted Perreca's bread. It was so delish. The Italian sausage was served with lettuce, tomato, roasted garlic puree, mayo and side salad. Everything was so fresh. My $11 meal was reasonably priced. The garlic purée was amazing. They need to bottle it. I'd buy some. My friend had the Mac and cheese and an espresso martini. He loved both. Rachelle was our server. She was wonderful. Very helpful. She explained some of the menu to me because there were a number of Italian sausage dishes. The food was prepared quickly which was great because we were hungry. Rachelle came back later to check on us. I gave her a thumbs up and a smile while busily chewing a bite of sandwich. The restaurant is charming with nice tin ceilings and big windows to let the light in. There are many booths which makes it cozy. When we arrived most of the tables were full. Based on the chatter in the room it sounded as though a lot of friends had gathered at the restaurant to literally break bread over brunch. The menu offers a nice variety: from egg breakfasts, assorted salads to Italian classics. It was an all around yummy and enjoyable experience. I let Rachelle know that we'll be coming back.

I was here last in 2022 and had many delicious meals during my trip to Schenectady. This time, I returned to the restaurant and asked for a seat at the bar, only to be told that they weren't accepting walk-ins. I thought this was odd, but made a reservation for the following week. I wish I'd followed my gut and skipped it. The menu looks the same, but the preparations are completely different. The chicken Milanese used to be two large pieces of chicken served with a light and delicious cream sauce, nothing else. Now, it's a single thinly pounded piece of chicken, piled with lettuce and tomatoes (no mentioned of this on the menu) and served on top of a bland cream sauce. I wouldn't have ordered it if I'd known this. Also, the side order of cavatelli which used to be so delicious tasted like it had about a tablespoon of salt poured over it. Seriously, I've never had such salty food in my life. I also heard a diner at an adjacent table complain to their waitress that their food was too salty.
