The beginning of the fun filled fantasy of Disney World's Magic Kingdom starts with the Ferry Boat. After finding your parking spot, jumping on the shuttle and making your way to the water, this short 10 minute ride across the Seven Seas Lagoon, is an alternate to the monorail. There are 3 boats that transport every 10-15 minutes across the Lagoon.

A nice boat ride early in the morning from the parking and transportation center off to the Magic Kingdom entrance. The walk from dock to the MK entry is a little long, but I get it since the monorail was down on the morning I went, lines could get long for entry/leaving the park. The lake didn't have much going on, but we did see some cranes and a few other waterfowl. Takes about 15min. There's some seating but mostly standing space. A lot of families with strollers in the morning. No need to turn around, it goes both directions with a upper deck and main deck for passengers. Probably holds around 600ppl when full. Three different ones go back and forth - The Admiral Joe Fowler can be identified by the green color of the panels down its sides and around its pilothouses. The Richard F. Irvine has red panels, and the General Joe Potter has blue panels.

Monorail or Ferry Boat? You have to pick one in order to get from the parking area to the Magic Kingdom. It's a ride in itself and it's kind of peaceful after dealing with parking or after dealing with the heat and dehydration of visiting the park all day. We usually opt for the ferry boat, mainly because the idea of a single rail train is incomprehensible. And if it didn't work on The Simpson's, I don't think Disney should have bought one too. Copycats! The Ferry Boat is easy to get to, holds a lot of people, and gets you to your destination at the beginning or the end of your visit.

Nice 15 minute ferry ride to get from the Transportation and Ticket Center to the Magic Kingdom and vice versa. This is an alternate option from the tram. As you leave the dock, you get a nice view of the Contemporary Resort, Grand Floridian Resort, etc... sit back and enjoy the ride or take pictures and enjoy the view. Not everyone will get a seat, so be prepared and hold on.. Stay away from stairwell when the ferry docks and remember to take all your belongings with you.

All Aboard the Disney ferry boat! This is not a ride... I mean, it is a ride but not an attraction ride out of Magic Kingdom or any of the other themed parks. This is distinctly a Disney water transportation that connects and transports guests daily between the Transportation and Ticket Center and Magic Kingdom. We used the ferryboats only when leaving the parks to take us to our shuttle that transports us back to our hotel. It's kind of Disney's mass public transit system. It is free to park guests. Two ferries usually operate with wait times between 10 and 20 minutes (in most cases). It has an upper and lower level and can hold quite a bit of guests... I'm guessing up to 400+ or so? Maybe more. The upper deck has limited seating, though, it has two interior staircases. This ferry boat has been useful to us in getting us to our bus. Review #1443

This is my transportation of choice to go to Magic Kingdom. Nice boat ride, open air, unlike the monorail which is closed in. The ride over is usually crowded in the mornings, but late afternoon return is empty.

One of my favorite things about staying at the Grand Floridian is taking the Ferry Boat back after a long day in the Parks. Lots of fresh air and a break from the crowds. The boat is free and you don't have to be staying at one of the destination resorts in order to hop on and enjoy the ride. However- there are different boats that make different stops. Make sure you get on the right one! :-) You can find this information on a sign as you approach the boats. You can also have one of the helpful Disney cast members point you in the right direction if you aren't sure. If you time it right (like I did on my last night) you can be on the water right when the fireworks start at Magic Kingdom. It's pure... well... magic! The ferry boats hold more people than you would expect, but it is a little difficult for families with strollers to load and unload. Also, this is a real boat. Not a ride that is on a set track. It can be a little bumpy as you dock at your destination. There also might be a bit of a step as you get off the boat. Something to keep in mind if you are traveling with younger children.

One of two ways to reach Magic Kingdom, the ferry boat ride is an alternative to the monorail. It is definitely far more scenic and allows for some really great views and photos. The big issue with this is that it can be time-consuming if you're in a hurry to get over to Magic Kingdom park or to get back to your car. Occasionally the monorail is down so you will have to take this more of transportation as a backup since Magic Kingdom is a mile and a half from the transportation and ticket center. Many people don't realize that when you park to go to Magic Kingdom you still have to take another mode of transportation to actually get to the park from the parking lot. Both of these transportation types are free. The monorail is usually a faster method. But I do love taking the ferry boat for a relaxed and scenic view of the lake on the way to the park. The boat also fits far more people than the monorail so that was a line deceive you they can move a mass of people with just one boat. Overall: A Offers gorgeous views and photo ops. A bit slower means of getting to and from the park but well worth the time.

While in Disney the week before quarantine shutdown, there were many modes of transportation to travel between the parks. Although the monorail is the most efficient, the Ferry Boat is the most nostalgic and scenic.

I've always taken the Monorail to Magic Kingdom but this time we decided to take the Ferry Boat & I'm glad we did. It's a much more relaxing than the Monorail because you get to enjoy the view of the park and you can actually see a peak of the castle coming in from the water. The kids will love the ride too and there's benches for you to sit upstairs and downstairs. Although the Monorail might be the faster in speed but to be honest the Ferry might be your fastest route specially when leaving late after the parade because it fits more people.

We have already missed 4 ferries. This blows!

If the monorail is open do not take the ferry when it's below 50 degrees and windy... it's freezing!!!

But as a random person, we didn't really have a bad experience. Magic Kingdom is not an amusement park, it's a theme park. Rides are basic, but I think it's so every guest can have the same experience. Easy to stop and go if you need to get on the ride in an untraditional way. Completely overpriced though, which is why my wife and I have been together for 22 years and this was the first time we went to Disney in that time. If we didn't spend more on lightning lane passes, we would not have had a good day. I feel you can do whatever you want here. People cut in line, push past others, talk through all the instructions and rides. Some weird woman just recited the entire Haunted Mansion introduction, because with main character syndrome, she wanted to ruin the experience for everyone else? I feel I enjoy Marvel and Star Wars more than most other properties and I still think Disney has catching up to do with Universal Studios. It's a better world over there. There is a lot of Disney "Magic" though. You have to pay for it, but like Disney, you throw enough money at a problem and it does appear better.

Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid is OK. Ariel looks weird, mainly in the face…read more While I still enjoyed this ride and thought it was fun, the overall quality of the animatronics was a step below most other rides at Disney World. I thought maybe that was because this ride opened around the same time as the movie in 1989. However, I was a bit surprised to learn after the fact that this ride actually opened 23 years after the movie, in late 2012. On the ride, you board clamshells that take you on an adventure under the sea. Pretty much all the characters from the movie make an appearance and the ride is filled with Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's popular songs like "Part of Your World," "Under the Sea," "Poor Unfortunate Souls," and "Kiss the Girl." The "Under the Sea" song and dance segment is bright and colorful. It reminds me of going to E.T.'s planet in the E.T. Adventure ride at Universal Studios. It's a festive party; both rides have that neon-colored, crowded "creature party" aesthetic. During our visit, the animatronic Ariel in this section was broken and inanimate. Kind of funny and creepy. During the "Kiss the Girl" segment, the plastic water coming out of the fishes' mouths didn't look great. It added to the overall sort of "knock-off" and kitschy look of the ride. Also, right before the end of the final scene with King Triton and the wedding of Ariel and Eric, the ride stopped on us. So, I was able to get a good, long look at the different animatronics and scenery. Finally, I thought the transitions between the high-quality video and the actual practical physical ride props were a bit jarring. Other rides do it better like, for example, the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros at EPCOT. We had Lightning Lane passes at around 1:47 PM on a non-holiday Monday and experienced no line and no wait.

It is a slow moving ride that goes on a flat track and will move your clamshell 365 degrees, as well as going backwards and tipping backwards as well. It does not spin fast and as someone who gets motion sickness, you should be fine. The seat has a lap bar for the entire row and is not comfortable at all. It is a very hard bench. I find this ride becoming more of a favorite probably since it is super cute and the line is never very long. The line can get long at times, but I recommend waiting until the wait drops below 20 minutes. The line starts outside which has little shade and is very hot in the summer, but then moves inside, where the majority of the line is. Inside it is covered and much cooler. It is actually really dark inside and my eyes always have to adjust. This ride is very colorful, very musical and very fun. If you know this movie, you are going through the story quickly. There are a few dark areas throughout the ride as well as a couple of loud parts. This rides also "stops" as well. There is not a time we have been on this that it did not have a stop for a a minute or so. This ride is designed for children, however, as an adult, it is becoming a favorite of mine. It is nice long ride, that you can sit and relax. This is a must go in the summer for us! Cool, AC, sitting down, sign me up! I would recommend this ride but only when the line is 20 minutes or less. Otherwise, wait and come back later.

Rapunzel's tower from Tangled is very cool to see from an up close perspective! It felt like you were in the movie! The tower is not accessible for entry, however, the outside of the tower has been detailed extremely well. The tower appears as though it could have easily come right out of the film. At daylight hours, the tower is quite nice. However, when evening arrives with lights like the lanterns from the movie, the entire atmosphere changes and becomes much more immersive! Although this area contains themed restrooms, there is no indication that they are bathrooms! This is not your average restroom stop in Magic Kingdom though! There are details throughout the area including Pascal hiding within some of the design elements, wanted posters of Flynn Rider and many other small details to give off the idea that this is essentially a mini Tangled town. I was happy about this being a slightly less crowded area of Fantasyland as well. It is nice to be able to step back and stop for a moment to capture some photos and take a quick rest from the crowds. Unlike many of the rides surrounding this area, there isn't always a huge crowd of people here! It is definitely worth stopping by especially at night. There are so much details to Rapunzel's tower!

LOL This area was put in as part of New Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom; although, it's actually located in the original Fantasyland. They built Rapunzel's Tower, which really stands out. It makes you think you're heading to a really cool attraction, but nope, it's just a bathroom area and charging station. As others have said, these have to be the cleanest, nicest bathrooms on Disney Property. Whoever thought going to a restroom would be an "experience?" LOL In addition to the restrooms, there are plenty of places to sit in the area and rest your weary feet. While you're doing it, take advantage of the many charging stations which are "hidden" inside the barrels sitting around the area. Love all the lanterns and the lighting of the area at night. Disney did an excellent job with this area. Well, there you have it... Review #1200 on bathrooms and a charging area! :D
