To celebrate my daughters 16th Birthday - we took her and a few of her friends to Fiammé for dinner. My 1st time there. I loved the smells and the looks inside. Great looking bar. Nice to see a wood burning oven with the smells and sound of crackling wood. The girls had those margarita type pizzas (not my cup of tea) My wife and I shared a Caesar salad and their Americano Detroit style pizza. The pizza was one of the best I've had in a long time. I really enjoyed it. I tried a few bourbon drinks and they were excellently made. We enjoyed our evening the service was great and we will be returning. Oh - their birthday special thing is great. We always love Fiamme! The ambience is amazing. Outdoor seating in the summer is superb atmosphere, from the music to the lighting to everything. The food took quite a while to arrive (45 min) so don't come too hungry! But it was absolutely worth the wait. The pistachio pesto pizza and Sicilian deep dish pizza were so delicious as well as filling. Would have never thought that pistachio would be a combination I wanted on pizza, but I definitely want to order it again in the future! We ordered 3 pizzas and 1 pasta dish for 5 people and were quite stuffed if that helps you think about portion sizing. Can't wait to return! read more

I was always curious about Fiammé, but didn't try it until now. I ordered a few pizzas for delivery. It came quicker than expected. I ordered a veggie pizza, pesto pizza, and vegan pizza. For the price, I wasn't really impressed. The veggie pizza should have used mozzarella instead of goat cheese because all the toppings were falling off, but the marinara was good. The pesto pizza didn't really have any pesto flavor, sThe vegan pizza was actually pretty tasty, but had some hard bits in it. Overall, it wasn't bad. I guess I was just expecting more cheesy, gooey, flavor bombs from premium pizza. 3.5 stars. read more

With the new life we are temporarily going through, many business owners are dealing with difficulties that some can't get through....but Fiamme isn't one of them, they've adapted well. With the temporary closures of interior dining, Fiamme has developed a unique and safe way for for families to enjoy dining together. Individual heated pods were brought in to safely allow small groups to dine in private. I enjoyed a great dinner with my wife and adult daughter, in private with hopes of safety. With great service from Liam and a visit from very busy Preston, we were able to safely order and enjoy a fantastic dinner. Started out with a tasty Bruschetta Fiamme, with incredibly good ricotta spread and balsamic and basil mixed tomatoes. A must with a glass of Merlot. We split the Classic Caesars salad which was perfect for 3 people. Then came our incredibly mouth watering main dishes. We ordered 3 separate meals so we could have a chance to taste each one, and it was best thing we did. My wife ordered the braised short rib ravioli which was perfect in 2 ways: the portion size was perfect and it tasted like heaven. My daughter ordered her go to dinner, Tortellini Ricotta. You won't be dissatisfied with this choice of a blend of 3 cheeses and mushrooms and spinach. And then I enjoyed a new dish on the menu, Baked Ziti Al Fiamme, blended with shrimp, chicken and mushrooms in a fabulous cream sauce. Don't be surprised looking at the menu, they do have dessert, only on a separate menu. Dessert was the creme de la creme. Already satisfied we liked the Tiramisu the best. OMG! I didn't have time to take pictures of the food as it was so good, we were engulfed with eating and enjoying conversation. If you are thinking of a safe place to dine with a tremendously awesome menu, you won't be disappointed with this choice. I was in Naperville for a meeting. Since I am from NJ, I figured I would have some deep dish pizza while in town. After mediocre pizzas at the big chains, Lou and Giordano's, i was told my some locals to try Neapolitan pizza. A quick yelp search saved the day! I came here when it first opened Saturday morning (11am) and I was the third guest. They have a nice outdoor seating area, and since the weather was beautiful, I sat outside. I asked which white pizza was the best by the hostess/waitress and she told me the Pistachio Pesto. SOLD! It has cheese, sausage, pesto, tomatoes, and nuts...doesn't that hit every food group?!? Okay folks, the pizza was amazing! Nice and savory. The crust was perfect....I ate all my ends which says a lot because I hate crust and never eat them. Very nice service, great pizza. We drive an hour each way for the pizza - it's that good. We live in Barrington and at least 2 or 3 times a year drive an hour each way for the gluten free pizza at Fiamme. With the edition of Detroit style, it will probably be more often. As you can see by the pictures, this is not like any gluten free pizza I have ever eaten. We have been coming to Fiamme since the week they opened. We do not come as often due to Covid but when I have tried calling in the past they are always full. Tonight we went around 7 and there were tables open outside yet we were told by the 4 persons at the hostess stand that it would be about 25 minutes. They shut down some tables due to staffing which is understandable and there were others they claimed were for upcoming reservations but when we walked back outside there was an open table. We inquired and got seated. Clue for the manager; maybe have the 4 people at the hostess stand help clear tables instead of telling customers to just sit and wait during the time peak time. We have always ordered the same thing. They changed the bruschetta and it bows comes from a not-so-fresh loaf of plain Italian bread with a little butter drizzled on it. It used to be lightly toasted really fresh bread that would melt in your mouth. The margarita pizza came a long time later and it was a mess. They used to take pride in what they served but those days are gone. Instead of their being splotches of sauce with chunks of melted cheese they now make it like every other place; load it with sauce, smother it with cheese in the center and mix some basil in. Unfortunately, what used to be perfect dough on the outside is now a 2-inch wide ring of rubbery dough. I know prices have gone up but our simple meal was about 50% more than it used to be pre-covid. Our server was very sweet and got the crustini bread replaced for the bruschetta but nothing was her fault. I blame the owners and managers that don't seem to care anymore about anything other than how many people can they cram in to their old parking lot. Very very sad! read more

The service at Fiammé has been going downhill during the last year. The wait staff repeatedly forget items and seem more preoccupied with chatting up tables versus making sure that their customers are covered. When we came on Mother's Day there were surprisingly very few people at brunch but the waitress didn't seem to be noticing half of her tables. Tonight we came, also a very slow evening (maybe 5 tables with people) and we waited almost 20 minutes before I got up and asked the host where our waiter was. During that time the one wait staff member I was able to see was very chatty with the two tables she had but nobody seemed to notice the table of three next to the bathrooms. When the waiter did arrive it was clear my request for a server had interrupted a smoke break (you can't cheat that smell). Too bad. Good food but not having a reliable wait staff is kind of a corner stone of a restaurant, and if you can't deliver after many redo attempts, it's clear that it's you, not me. read more

Great place for pizza. They have a number of different pizza styles, which is a must for my family. Outside booths are a little challenging with a narrow bench seat and a table which seems a little far away. My 5 ft tall wife could not sit comfortably. Dogs are allowed outside, so we'll be back in the summer. read more

Visited yesterday for lunch with a couple of coworkers. I tried the La Americano Detroit style pizza. The pizza crust was the best part of that dish, it was fluffy and crispy. The toppings, including the cheese, were lacking flavor and as a result, the pizza tasted bland. My coworkers tried the rigatoni, which I was told was really good, and a wood fired pizza, can't remember which one, but it had spinach and artichokes. I did taste that pizza and it too was bland. The 3 stars is for the service, which was really good (waiter very attentive) and the rigatoni. I would not return to this restaurant. In addition, during the time we were there, there were only 2 other tables occupied. Not busy at all, I guess I know why now. read more

What a great meal! We'd never been here and were jonesing for some good Italian. Fiamme did NOT disappoint! 2 pastas (tortellini and ziti), a garlic pizza, and we shared a Burrata. It is kind of located by a church and neighborhood and out of the busy downtown naperville area which is more convenient for parking. They have some cool looking outdoor somewhat enclosed tables too. Make sure to make a reservation! We got two pizzas to share and still had about 4 slices leftover- for reference. My friend got the Prosciutto e Arugula which was aiight because of the prosciutto but the sauce wasn't quite flavorful. I got the carne (meat lovers) and the sauce was good but the meat wasn't as tasty as the prosciutto. Mix the two together and that would be delish! My opinion is that the pizza was made so delicate that you can't hold a slice in hand as all the things will fall off it even from getting from the plate. ~It tasted very basic Pizza. ~Shrimps were jumbo and not tender and juicy. ~I have a mule drink it was $5 specials on a Tuesday night ( very basic Mule ) I had a lot better taste ones at local bars. Fiammé was amazing. They have vegan options that are delicious. Our server was young as well as the bartenders so when we ordered an espresso martini they made it with dairy. We let them know we can't have dairy, and that espresso martinis don't usually come with any. They were kind and quickly remade it for us. We ordered their vegan pizza and added mushroom and red onions. It was taking a while and without us having to say anything they brought us a complimentary bruschetta board with vegan cheese and it was amazing! Options for Detroit style pizzas are so few and far in this area so I was pretty excited when I found a restaurant that offered them. Ordered a 4 slice Americana to go and it was cooked perfectly and they clearly use great ingredients but the red sauce is just a little too sweet for my personal liking so I'm not sure I'll be eating pizza from here again. Our go to place during the pandemic as their mini greenhouses to sit in were great. Fast forward and post pandemic I would say the food quality is still good and pizza is good. The servers could be more attentive and stop by to at least see how things are going or if we need anything. The food was amazing this was our first time trying this spot. We got the mozzarella sticks for starters, double down deep dish pizza for dinner and the lava cake for dessert. All delicious. I tried the peach sangria for a drink. It was a little to sweet for me. I normally get red sangria but wanted to try something different. Only complaint I would say was our server didn't really check on us that often and it took 10-15 minutes for her to give us extra sauce on the side. She was still a very sweet server . I had a wonderful experience here. I made a reservation and we sat in one of the pods. It was very cute inside and warmer than I expected (but not too warm). Our server, Sam, was great. He checked on us frequently and was very kind and patient. We ordered the butcher and the Sicilian pizza. Both were good, but the Sicilian was out of this world delicious. One slice of it was very filling. The house salad was good, I liked the lemon vinaigrette. The kids loved their chicken tenders and fries. We got great service, and it was fun to be out - and feeling safe - during Covid for a family birthday party. They have these super cute little pods/igloos/greenhouses/chalets/whatever that are decorated, private, homey, cozy and just adorable! But the best part to me was that the cooking seemed quite authentic and was certainly generous in portion size. I've eaten a whole lot of pizza in Italy. A whole lot. Yes, this is a close comparison. No, it doesn't taste quite as good. But standing on its own, I can say that it's good pizza. The crust is chewy and with good charring. They might be known for pizza, but I love their pasta dishes. -Especially the Salmon and Rigatoni. The salmon is peppery and cooked very well. My 6 yr old loves it so much; she always eats half. With portions large enough, we can easily split it. I would rate this place higher, but the service has been abysmal most of the 6 times I've been here. Cranky waitstaff who just disappear. Glasses that sit empty. And once we ordered a gluten free pizza for a celiac and his unknowingly came full gluten. He got so sick it's like they heaped extra gluten on top. He spent the evening on my bathroom floor and couldn't drive home. Had to sleep over. Yikes! Parking: unless you come at 11am for an early lunch, plan on using valet or the parking garage on Benton, because the parking lot is so small; it's comical. read more
