In addition, as I was finally escaping away for a short vacation for the first time in years, they very kindly agreed to keep the desk and stool safe for me until I return next week to pick them up. I thot that was immensely kind of them. Their premises are neat and tidy, parking is comfortable and well-lit, the office is clean and well-organized and so is the shop. The people who work there are also very professional. No bare bellies, scraggly beards, or saggy jeans here! Their paperwork is easy to read, forthright, and up to date. Imagine my horror and disappointment when I open and find it damaged in shipment! Luckily the honest seller refunded my money and I set out to find someone who would repair it. I found most antique places want bigger jobs, bigger furniture. When I found Jeff Johnson's website and read the reviews I thought.... I have nothing to lose.... Flash forward to the after photos (I uploaded so you can see for yourself) and it is beautifully restored. Not only is the chip fixed but he refinished everything so it looks better that ever. I would not hesitate to bring even my most prized antique to Jeff. Quality work, fast. tips - he seems to communicate best via email. This works for me but heads up if you are used to a voice on the phone. he has an arrangement with another company so that if he is out of the office you can leave things or pick up things. This is super convenient but struck me as a little odd. The option was to buy a new SUV wheel and rim for $500 or fix the wheel for a little over $100. Charles met us onsite at Discount Tire and fixed the wheel. He was prompt, courteous and professional. We then learned we still needed a new tire due to the damage and the shop helped us out with a great deal. I have always relied on Discount Tire for tire and wheel needs and will continue to do do. Thank you, Charles, for fixing the wheel and getting us back on the road again safely.

Had the Cary, NC company come out to my home for a wheel repair on 4/16/2024, my wife thought it…read morewas weird that the man left without notice and letting her inspect the repair or let her know he was leaving. After leaving my home for work 4/17/2024 I noticed the wheel was missing a lug and after investigating I noticed that the wheel stud was snapped off. I immediately called Gerber collision who had this company sub-contracted for the repair and explained the situation and they contacted the wheel company. While awaiting a response, I went through my camera footage and found the video of the repair guy working on the wheel. The owner of the wheel company then called me before I was able to evaluate the footage but I let him know they were the last to touch the wheel and I had camera footage I would be looking through. The owner did not seem concerned and backed up his guy's statements that he didn't break anything and told me I needed to call Gerber collision back. After reviewing video footage, I have the moment the tech over torqued the lug and snapped the wheel stud. He then pulled the lug out and just sat it freely back into place to make it look repaired. He then sounded like he was on the phone talking to someone, packed his tools up and left without talking to my wife or letting us know he damaged the wheel. I would not recommend this company, they are liars and after sending a text with video proof to the owner he has yet to respond. There is no integrity or honesty with their work. It's safe to say that they feel they can con someone if the opportunity is there, they will take it. He had no problem assuming we would not think he damaged it and we would be liable for repairs. Luckily I have the video footage to back up the damage claims and Gerber is taking care of this companies damage.

They didn't pay and are now in violation of a court order. I brought in three upholstered chairs and a sofa to be recovered, based on a referral and Yelp. One of the chairs was returned and curved piece of wood that formed the leg and the chair fell off the first time I tried to pick it up to move it. The the cover for the back was crooked and Raphael said he didn't know how to fix it. I got out some pins and showed him how it could be done. He took it to fix it and I haven't seen it since. The fabric around that arm was puckered, but he used so much glue to reattach it I'm afraid the if I try to have the wood removed it will destroy the chair. I had 2 other upholstered chairs. First the back covers were to small, then they were too big, then they were different lengths. The biggest problem was the sofa. Thsere were numerous problems. Every time I pointed out a problem Rafael would say, "That's a problem and it should be fixed." The cushions hung out 4" beyond the frame and beige zippers were used with dark grey fabric. He explained that the overhand happened because the stuffing should have been replaced. I told him that since I'm not a professional, I took his word for what was causing the problem. I asked why the people working on the piece hadn't told me about this problem, because if they had I would have immediately authorized them to replace the foam. He said some of the people who do the work are better than others, and my work had been done by the less competent people. I asked if he could have the better qualified people redo the work. He said this was not possible because the more competent people wouldn't work on jobs that other people had not done properly. I asked if this meant that the furniture would be given back to the people who had already worked on my furniture, and he said, "yes". I then asked why they would do a better job this time and he had no answer. It didn't make sense to me that if the people who had messed up the job originally would magically do a better job now. No answer. During this period, I had numerous conversations with his customer service person. Almost every time I called her, she told me that she understood my problem but couldn't reach the boss who would make the decision. She also told me that I was a patient, reasonable person and she was sorry she couldn't help me better. Eventually, in November, the customer service person told me that the boss had agreed that he pay for me to have the piece recovered some place else. At this point I had to buy new fabric and find another company to do the work. Once the work was complete, I submitted copies of the invoices for the fabric and the work and followed up with 2 calls last week. NO RESPONSE. By the dates on the emails, you can see this continued for over 5 months. I AM TRYING TO TAKE THEM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT, BUT THEY ARE IGNORING SUBPOENAS. I AM OUT AMOST $3,000.

I wanted to have my beach cottage ready for the summer. I was told it would be 4 - 6 weeks. I called weekly after that. Excuse after excuse. I also brought in an authentic mid- centry setee on February 4th. Again I was told it would be 4 - 6 weeks. This week, I picked up both on October 4th. I was working with Tom. He has now retired, my guess, after all his screwups. Once I picked up my orders, Cindy was now in charge and could find my settee and fabric. That took another couple of weeks. I had to send pictures. Cindy didn't want to attach blame, but I was totally screwed. Not only did I call, but I also went in. Tom would tell me I was next. I asked Cindy was the only January or February order, and she said I was by far the last one received. I'm a nice person. I keep playing over and over again what I did to piss Tom off. Then I realized it was b/c I WAS nice, and he could get away with me. I didn't want to be firm for fear they would screw me over. Who knew, being nice did exactly what I was trying to avoid! Maybe it will be better with Cindy, but I have no intention of giving them any more of my business!

The screw they used didn't "bite" so it doesn't hold the two wood bits together, the screw cover dowels are unfinished wood that doesn't match the chair finish, and the one over the loose screw doesn't fit and keeps falling out.
