Fiddlehead is ok by me! After coming here for the first time last weekend I must say I had a good experience. And just that a good one not a great one! And mainly it's because I have only been here one time. I thought for me this would have been the main attraction but it turned out being Folino's instead! The staff serving the beer here was great. We got to taste all 3 beers before buying anything. They offered a peach beer, IPA and one other one. The peach beer was pretty good! The IPA was pretty solid and the one I forgot the name of...left a lot to be desired! For that reason I forgot its name. They did mention that they change out the beers every week. So I will need to return to see if its consistent and I wouldn't mind bumping up the review by a star or two then! So really they are in a good spot. They serve along side with Folino's and with the 2 together you get a great winning pair! However as it currently stands Fiddlehead by it self would have to kick up its beer offering some as a lone entity. If you plan to get some pizza be sure to stop by and taste the beer and give us your take on them! read more

We ordered a white pizza at Fiddlehead before a three hour drive back to NY. The restaurant is small. Expect a 30-40 minute wait on a Saturday night. With that, we ordered our pie to go. During a leaf-peeping trip to the east coast, we also did a bit of brewery-peeping. One of the breweries we wandered into was Fiddlehead. It happened to be the day they were canning MasterMind, which was a special treat. It was insane to think that the entire batch would be gone that day, but as we watched person after person buy as many cans as they could carry our doubt evaporated. The beer was delicious and the lady doing the tasting that day was knowledgeable and did a great job of explaining the beers. They do the standard Vermont tasting, which if you're not aware is 3-3oz pours per person. Free, though, which is a nice feature. The one thing I take away from them star-wise is both a benefit and an annoyance. There's a pizza place in the same building where you can buy pints to drink. This is nice because most of the breweries don't let you buy pints to consume on the premises. However, it's inside another restaurant. So if you've already eaten and want to sit and have a pint, you feel awkward taking up space in a restaurant when they aren't getting anything from you. Definitely go on a MasterMind day and get yourself a four-pack. Have a few tastes and then grab a pint "for the road." It's definitely a good representation of Vermont beer. read more

I really enjoy the taproom at Fiddlehead Brewing. They poor each tap offering individually, describe it, and provide a free sample. There are growler fills available for the 3 or 4 beers they are offering. Even better, and an upgrade since my first visit in August, is that they have canned beer now. My timing couldn't have been better, as I had the Second Fiddle Double IPA around Stowe and that was what they had in cans. I grabbed a case to bring back to the neighborhood, and added a second Fiddlehead glass to the collection as well. Friendly, insightful, and not a circus atmosphere like some of the other breweries. Next time I'm there, I hope the timing is right to try to the pizza joint next door! read more

AWESOME BEER. We really like fiddlehead!!! So good! My boyfriend and I love grabbing a growler here. WE WISH that we could stop in for just a pint of beer- but not knowing the reasoning if its a liquor license thing or not- i understand its not always ideal for businesses ect. If you are passing through don't miss out on bringing a growler to get filled or even enjoy the growler next door with pizza! Awesome pizza. But just a heads up there isn't a typical tasting room at this brewery yet- hopefully one day. Stopped in before a concert at the museum earlier this summer. The service was AWFUL. The young men working were super rude and pretentious while we were kind and curious customers. Treated a nice group of well put together people like dirt. They have some decent beer, but boy...the vibes were awful. Looking for good energy? All I can say is that I love Fiddlehead Brewery and the beers that they produce! I love the IPA, and usually get the growler once a week on average. They don't have bottled beers there, so you must get them in the growler or growlette. It is WELL WORTH every drop! It's easy to find, located right on Route 7, conveniently right next to a pizza place that you CAN bring your beer into, and they supply chilled glasses. How awesome is that! Update: 7/29/2013 And I thought that I've had a lot of their great beers over the past year. Here is a couple of brews that I have loved (Sprung, 2nd Fiddle). Well done folks! This small brewery is doing amazing things, and is one of my favorite local breweries. Most of the time you can get in, do a couple 2, 3 samples, get your growlers, and get out in a really short time. I've been in this place when there has been 10-15 people waiting in line, and I have been out the door in 10-12 minutes or so. They are very efficient in pouring, very friendly, and very hospitable! We've been here twice, the second time on Father's Day in 2015. It consistently has excellent, friendly service and tasty beer, particularly their Kolsch and pale ales. It's reasonably priced and their growlettes are easy to take home. Unlike other breweries, they actually offer free samples as soon as you walk in the door despite how busy they are and the employees make great conversation. They manage the lines efficiently so that no one is waiting long at all. This may sound ridiculous, but unlike other breweries, they also have clean bathrooms that are easily accessible. I love the fact that it's also adjacent to an awesome pizza place. read more

Small craft brewery in Shelburne. There were no tours available when we were there, but you can see the brew room through the windows in their retail area. There were three beers available for tasting when we were there. Bottles and cans are not available, only growlers and growlettes. Beers were OK, but not outstanding. Everyone loves Fiddlhead.... I don't. I'm here a lot because Folino's next door, but the beer is just OK to me. I've had a few there that I hated...a couple I was lukewarm about, and one I loved (Hodad.....I'm hoping they make more of that...) The service however, I'm convinced they couldn't have a better staff. EVERYONE I've been served by has been friendly and efficient. I swear the tasting room has been packed, shoulder to shoulder, and I've still gotten my growlette in 5 minutes. I also love that they do growlettes. I was a little disappointed coming to Fiddlehead brewing. Though you got to sample everything on tap, they had run out of some things or were pouring from old bottles for others. Really great beer! When we went there (around 11 am on a Sat) there was a HUGE line because, unbeknownst to us, they had just released some new cans of their IPA! Anyway, it really spoke to the professionalism of the staff that they were able to handle the volume of people (and beer), and to the quality of the beer that so many people made a special trip just to make sure they got their weekend brews. The beer is excellent. They are attached to Folino's, One of the best pizzas I have ever had, and you can bring your growler from Fiddlehead in to have with your meal. There is even a self serve cooler of frosted pint glasses for your beer. While the beer is everything you wished it would be, the experience of visiting not so much. I came in with my wife, and they gave a a tiny shot glass of each beer to taste. A tiny shot glass to share, not even one each. I would honestly love to give more stars because the beer is very tasty, but my experience was subpar compared to a lot of other breweries I have visited. Upon entering, we were not greeted a hello, what can i get for you, can I answer anything for you, NOTHING. So I'm standing at the counter reading the confusing menu (because it only listed 3 beers with growler fill prices) and ask the girl if I can have a pour of one of the beers. She said well we only do samples, poured 2 and handed them over. I had to ask which sample it was, she didn't say squat! Wasn't warm & friendly, didn't seem to care what we wanted to try nor explain anything. and honestly, the other 2 employees didn't seem very excited or helpful to other patrons as well. So here: there's only 3 choices on tap and they give you free samples and it's a take home in cans or growler kind of set up. But only the Fiddlehead ipa was in cans. It's a $3 deposit for the growler + the fill; it was $9 for a 32oz of the Kolsch. All 3 samples I had were very tasty but it's super awkward in there. They need more direction for customers and NICER EMPLOYEES. also more delish samples if they can add some! read more

They make great beer, always knew that. Great to see the regular IPA in cans now. COVID sucks, but they have a super fast pick up deal. Didn't realize I had to order ahead, when I got there read the sign placed an order and parked. I was going to leave and come back but they called almost immediately and let me know it would be right out with detailed instructions about the ID process. Terrible experience at Fiddlehead this past weekend. Apparently, they changed their dog policy between when I left for vacation and when I arrived to their tap room with my dog. Me and my husband grabbed a table and sat down with the dog, each got a pint, and after about 35 minutes or so (with staff walking by pretty consistently), we decided to order a pizza. Well, the minute that my husband finished entering his pizza order, I was approached and told that the dog couldn't be in the tap room. I mentioned that their website said that dogs were allowed, and they told me that had changed and said I needed to bring the dog outside. So I did. Meanwhile, my husband stayed inside to wait for the pizza, which took close to another 30 minutes to get to him. He filled the growlers that we brought with us and met me back at the car. The pizza (I know, Fiddlehead isn't responsible for the pizza... it's served by the place next door) was terrible anyway, and by the time we got back to our hotel, one of the growlers had leaked all over the cooler... so that was a waste of money. The next day, we drank the other growler, and the beer was flat. Guess they were so busy, they couldn't be bothered to seal the growlers properly. All I'm saying is that Frost Beer Works, whose dog policy also changed apparently at the same time, was nice enough to put a sign up on their door letting patrons know about the change. And the growlers we got from them weren't flat. read more

Great place to stop by if your a visitor to VT. They usually only have 2 beers on tap, but you can never go wrong with their IPA. They do let you sample the beers so that is a plus! It is right next door to Folino's Pizza so would definitely recommend getting some beer here and then heading right next door for some pizza! read more

YES, YES, YES! My boyfriend and I were visiting Burlington from Philly, had a Fiddlehead IPA at a bar in Burlington and loved it! When the bartender told us that the brewery was right down the road on Rte 7, we hopped right in the car and drove down. Worth it! They offered a free tasting in the tasting room, with 3 beers on tap. All three were excellent! We loved the Hodad in particular. Loved loved loved it! The guy behind the bar was very friendly and told us about the brewery while pouring our samples. They are very new and don't bottle or can yet, so buy a growler if you can. Definitely worth a drive from Burlington. This is great beer. I predict nothing but great things for this brewery and hope they keep their great taste as they grow! read more

Nice spot to grab some on-the-go brews. Currently (08/31/2016) there are 3 beers on tap and 1 double IPA canned. 2 of the 3 drafts are IPA. The other is a Pale ale. However, all three are unique to others in the genre. The staff is knowledgable and willing to educate. I highly suggest you stop by for a mini or reg. growler. $3 deposit on growlers that you'll get back when you return! Prices are more than reasonable, in fact for a micro that are incredibly fair. read more

Highly recommend. Stopped in on a recent trip to VT. We were surprised they only had one beer on draft. I knew you could only fill growlers but figured there would be more than one choice. Their flagship IPA the Fiddlehead is very good but we were hoping for more choices. They did not have any cans when we arrived at 2:30pm on a Friday. Luckily we went next door and had pizza and later discovered they had finished canning more beer. We were able to get some of the SecondFiddle which is far superior and a double IPA. The only complaint I have is that I thought it strange that they told us there were no cans and sent us on our way, knowing that in 30 minutes they'd have a new batch ready. If we hadn't noticed folks in the Folinos Pizza with cans, we would have left empty handed. Regarding the service complaints people mentioned in other reviews, it did seem like there was a tendency for the person filling growlers to spend a very long time talking to one individual when there was a line. Because I was on vacation, it didn't bother me though. Had I been a local, in a hurry, perhaps it would have. read more

Stopped in here because we were at the vineyard across the street and we wanted a brew to go with our pizza (Folino's next door is attached to Fiddlehead). They only had four beers on tap and they were all of the IPA variety - not my bag. I think we ended up getting a Growlette (32oz) of the Summer one because that was the least disgusting to me, then took our beer over to the pizza place for dinner. Pizza place was great, but I'd suggest bringing beer from somewhere else if you aren't an "ale" fan. Nothing against Fiddlehead because I'm sure someone who has a taste for their beer would love it, but it just wasn't my thing. read more
