Do you believe you're helping your cause by being personally defensive? That said, I understand how you could take this review personally and if I was in your shoes maybe I would, too. After all, you've invested way more than just mere money into your business. Blood and sweat counts for a lot. Btw, before I continue, please notice I corrected my mistaken comments about barbacoa and clams. And please also take note there isn't any animus in anything I've written, none. It's only your interpretation. Calling my HONEST review fake is no different than calling the major news networks "fake news". It's completely without substance. I've spent thousands of dollars in that dining room of yours, so I feel I have a right to speak my mind. And, of course, you've got a right to react however you see fit, but if you're paying attention you will notice I'm not the only one saying the quality of your food has slipped. Are we all exercising some personal grudge directed at you? No. And, yes, the "fresh" (is there any other kind) bread should be FREE, jeez! And you shouldn't be charging $1 for ranch dressing for my broccoli, either! And, while I'm at it, if I want to be really nitpicky, $25 for a pork chop is totally outrageous for a neighborhood bistro where we used to eat 2-3 times a week. No more. Given your price increases I can only assume the rent is really high at DeVargas. I will only add that on a previous visit a few years earlier the pork chop was $18 and I sent it back for being dry, tough and chewy. That was Robbie, not you. I'll only add that it had been prepared PERFECTLY every other time I had it. But, I digress. Contrary to what you might believe I get no pleasure from writing a critical restaurant review, but I will admit to a sense of satisfaction from being honest and, thereby, be able to caution others about certain inconsistencies at Dr. FGs. My brother who was present at the table on the fateful evening is a professional food writer with literally four decades of experience. For some years he wrote the wine and restaurant reviews for the Denver Magazine and is the author of the most definitive cookbook on northern New Mexican cuisine ever written, "Feast of Santa Fe" (Simon & Schuster). There are restauranteurs in Santa Fe who consider Feast of Santa Fe to be required reading, as it so accurately defines the uniqueness of our traditional Santa Fe culinary art. Yes, to me food is art. For what it's worth, my brother concurred with everything I stated in my review of your food from that night. In fact, he's having lunch in your dining room today, 5/4/26. He's hungry for your chicken pot pie if it's available. Oh, and, by and by, you don't even want to know what he thinks about your B-A BLT. The adjectives would not be complimentary. Look, I never would have opened my big mouth if this one bad meal was the first I sent back at your restaurant. It's only after several negative experiences in a row, yes, three in a row, that I decided to write about it and offer the diners in Santa Fe a few words of caution. Lastly, Mr. G., your farm to table claim will become a hollow marketing boast if you continue to get the important stuff wrong. I loved eating at your Cerrillos location next to Wok and was amazed at just how wonderful the food could be in a strip center location. I never had a bad meal there. I'm not rich like so many of my upscale neighbors who reside on the north side and I can't afford to throw my retirement income down a hole. This is especially true when I don't feel like I'm getting my money's worth. That's where I draw the line. The goal of my reviews on Yelp and TripAdvisor, isn't to punish you for a bad meal or to stroke my ego or to hide anonymously behind a keyboard, not at all. When Josh moved the kitchen from out on Cerrillos to downtown we were excited that he was closer to us. We have been to the new location three times in the past six months and sadly the move resulted in a lowering of the quality of the food. The Carne Adovada was dry and "touristy", with only a bit of bang to the chile. The accompanying Alicia's tortillas were steamed in a foil pouch to within an inch of death becoming soggy and useless lumps of white corn meal. My wife's pizza was okay at best. With the wood fired oven gone, the flavor was no better than a pizza chain. Our guest's house made corned beef Reuben was dry and soggy at the same time - dry meat and soggy bread. Whatever cheese they are using was flavorless. She asked for more Russian dressing to try to improve the situation with the dry corned beef. There was an added charge on the final bill. Overall, a disappointment and another sad passing of what was once a great Santa Fe restaurant. read more

I read several reviews that talked about how good their salmon is. The Bike group I ride with went to lunch there after one of our rides. There were eight of us. The food was quite good. Service not so much, one of the members of our group got his food as the rest of us were finishing. The main problem was they can't do separate checks. They also work hard to make you feel at home and taken care of while you dine. You can get light fare like a cup of green chile stew with a tortilla, or go with a full New Mexican meal with all the trimmings. They have classic deli faves for between-sized meals, and everything is cooked to order. Now that they are in a bustling mall on the north end of Santa Fe, you can preface or follow your meal with a stroll through the shops, or hike down to the only bowling alley in town to roll a few lines. After our visit to Meow Wolf, we stopped by at Dr. Field Goods Kitchen which is close by for dinner. It's a causal joint, on the small size, specialized in fusion, with a New Mexico twist. We got a Margherita Pizza and shared it, we added pepperoni and olives on half of it. The pizza was good, the ingredients were fresh, they used heirloom tomato-s, the complaint? The crust was too thin so you couldn't pick it up, had to be classy and use a knife and a fork. For a gastro pub, I was disappointed with their on tap beer selection. They kept bringing us canned beer. No way! With all the local breweries, do I want a beer I can buy in a supermarket everywhere in US? No way! Just a couple of local IPA-s, which I don't like. But I wanted a local beer so I got the Santa Fe Co IPA. Nor a fun. IPA-s aren't for me. For dessert, we shared their bread pudding, good, liked the caramel sauce on it. a tad dry. Customer service was OK. Prices, decent. The place could be better, a mixed bag for me! I expected better based on reviews and local press. read more

Field Goods no longer cooks their enchiladas in a crock in the pizza oven. This is what made them unique and delicious. Now their enchiladas, while still tasty, are not so different than what you get in a million other places in Santa Fe. The only thing that I can think is that the regular clientele of Santa Fe Bar and Grill, which used to be in the space Field Goods is in now, complained because they still want Santa Fe Bar and Grill. Santa Fe Bar and Grill closed, so they need to let it go. I think the owner of Field Goods is trying to walk a line to please his longtime regulars, from the old space, and the longtime regulars of Santa Fe Bar and Grill. Treated my 26 year old son to dinner. He orders the $19.00 Christmas Enchiladas. I ask, "You can eat it all, or you want to split it?" He looks at me although I've lost my mind. I get the $15.00 Margarita Pizza. Magical crust is wafer thin, yet allows toppings to defy gravity. Really a wonder of culinary craftsmanship, allowed me to eat most of the pizza myself: Fresh golden tomatoes and liberal use of basil. Devine! Christmas enchiladas were inhaled. Field Goods Kitchen, located mid-Cerrillos Road, presents farm-to-table dining along with a smart selection of craft beers (wine is also available). Since opening in 2013, the restaurant has been undoubtedly the best on its block, and remains great today. My girlfriend and I came in for dinner before seeing a concert at Meow Wolf. Having recently given up both beer and red meat, we were overjoyed to find many items on the menu which fit both our appetites and dietary preferences. The kale salad was a delight: lightly dressed in olive oil, chock full both of shredded kale and chunks of potato, mushroom, red onion, and other vegetables. This salad is filling, delicious, and nutritious. The fish and chips also impressed. While it didn't quite fit the description/photos, the food was more than adequate. The fish was breaded and fried just right, tasted fresh, and had the perfect texture. The potatoes paired nicely, as did the coleslaw, which carried a charming flavor of dill. Service was on point and very gracious. We closed down the restaurant but the staff made us feel welcome and in no rush at all. Always made sure we had water in our glasses. Santa Fe's food scene has been exceptional. After experiencing Meow Wolf, we stopped at this restaurant located in a strip mall that turned out to be a gem. We split a salad and they actually served it in two portions. The salad was interesting with flavorful beets and sautéed mushrooms. We shared a margarita pizza and their wood fired oven delivered a crust that was crispy yet had a nice chew. The topping tasted fresh and paired well with ten crust. Plus a nearby family has an adorable baby and the parents let me get my baby hugging fix. What more can you ask for! read more

A must eat at restaurant if you're near Meow Wolf. After exploring the museum we walked here to grab lunch. It hit the spot. Interesting menu, ranging from burgers, wood fire pizza, burritos, steak au poivre, Xmas enchiladas, to Pho!! I mean there is something for everyone! We got 1/2 pound black mussels and wood fired pizza with mushrooms. I have the say the sauce on the mussels was out of this world good. You will find yourself dipping the toasted bread in that sauce and you just can't stop! Amazing food but ok service. Our waters were never refilled and there was hardly any ice so our drink were kinda warm. Inside it is very cozy small and tight. I wish this venue was bigger to make it a more comfortable setting. Our pizza barely fits the small two seated tables. Our waiter was friendly and recommended us some options since it was our first visit. We had the Oven Roasted Brussel Sprouts which was delicious I loved the bacon bites and cotija cheese. The main dish was the Pizza De Gallo with added pepperoni. The pepperoni was sliced strips which was perfect instead of round slices which make pools of grease. It was also cool to see the guy making the pizza fresh as he tosses the dough in the air and puts it in the oven. Out pizza was cooked to perfection. The bar area even had kids sitting because of lack of dining space it was a little odd to see. Also one of the bar tenders kept dropping glasses and making a scene must have been her first day. Even the cooks looked crammed being right behind the bar area. Prices are also a bit high but for the fresh ingredients I dont mind. The staff is sweet, friendly, and super effing accommodating. We rolled in close to closing and they still took care of us. The young woman behind the bar provided some suggestions: Enchiladas, The New Mexican, The Cubano, and the Margherita Pizza. We ordered the New Mexican and cubano and were not disappointed. We split the sandwiches and both were delicious. I preferred the cubano, but the New Mexican was delicious and filling. The draft list was excellent. The food was excellent. The menu is the most difficult, we couldn't choose what to order. The food was incredible, HUGE, and quick! The service was second to none. It was busy but we sat down immediately, there was a nice bar and also lovely seating. I loved my red child beef enchilada!! It was very hot and more than filled me up eating about 1/2 and I can eat a lot! The New Mexican was also a great sandwich which I tried. I would recommend the green Chile enchilada over red, but I'm learning that I just am quite partial with my green Chile and they do it right. The pizza is amazing here and other dishes, too. I had the margarita, which had a light, crispy and silky crust moistened with olive oil, a rich cheese and heirloom tomatoes. It melted in my mouth, definitely far exceeding my expectations for a place located in a mall-like area that has seen better days. The garden salad was full of freshness and was a generous portion. I think the potential is there. First off the waiter just did not want to be there. We had to flag him down after we ordered to order drinks. Egg rolls were good. The peanut sauce for the eggroll was like the bottom of the can of planter dry roasted nuts in the best possible way, salty and tasty. The mushroom soup was creamy and had good flavor but needed salt. The kick ass BLT I guess was a pork patty. The potatoes were good amd fried but some were blister your mouth hot and other were cold. Hubby got Xmas enchiladas and it was not flavorful and lacked salt. It came out with that great browned bubbly cheese. Had to go in search of salt ourselves. And now, the restaurant passes the credit card fees on to the customer. If you pay with a card, you pay the fee. If you pay with cash, the meal costs less. While I appreciate that information being obvious on the tab, I'd expected the Maitre D' to give me the right change after paying the bill with cash. Accepting cash payments? When I travel, it is an EXTREME rarity for me to hit up the same place twice. I mean, I'm traveling right? There are new dining adventures to check out. So, when I say that I actually dined at a place two nights in a row, it really means something. This joint rocked my boat big time. From the street, it looks like a non-descript strip mall dining place. But, man o man, can they put out the incredible food. Totally casual inside. (and rather tight). We sat up at the counter both nights since the place was packed (and it apparently is this way every night). Up at the counter you get to see the kitchen anyway, which I always enjoy. And, the other guests were super friendly. First night: Started with the arancini. Excellent and amazingly 'green' inside. Finished with the New Mexican - green chile rubbed & smoked pulled pork topped with sharp cheddar cheese, green chile and an apple jicama slaw served with field good potatoes. So much flavor. It's a big sandwich. Second night: We skipped the appetizer and went right for the awesome "Christmas" enchiladas. One green chile chicken, and one red chile buffalo meat enchiladas. The chile seasonings were off the hook. And, again, this was a whole lot of food. We each ended up eating only half of our orders. But, hey, it gave us a great breakfast the next day. (so does that mean I ate at Dr. Field Goods three days in a row?). If I were to have any kind of criticism, it would only be the quantity of food (it's a lot). And, the cold draft that comes in since this is such a small place. The food is awesome, and the staff and the patrons were all super 'casual' friendly. I get it is tough out there these days, but certain things should just be taken care of. My wife and I ordered the carne asada egg rolls, fish tostada and the fish and chips. The egg rolls were quite good without their weird peanut sauce which was very salty. Yes, getting take out with fried food can be a delicate situation, but why put cold slaw right on top of the fried potatoes? Why not separate the cold from the hot?
