I have been going here for eye exams and contacts and glasses for years. I recently ran out of…read morecontacts and need to get an eye exam. They informed me that the optometrist is now remote. Since I have a cataract developing, I need a live optometrist to monitor its development and let me know when to see an opthomologist for a consult. The receptionist told me, "oh, you"ll know when to go. My dad was told he would just know when his vision is bad enough." Huh? Should a receptionist be giving advice like this from a professional optometry business? I asked if I could get an extension for a month or two on my contacts and she refused to even ask the optometrist on staff. When I asked her for my prescription she was trying to mislead me until I informed her that my records belong to me. So she printed out my prescription and wrote in large red letters "this prescription has expired. Do not fill it"" I told her my daughter gets her contacts over the internet with needing a yearly eye exam. This company hates its patients. Period. She had nothing to offer except rudeness and lack of concern Oh and their robot that answers the phone is really ridiculous. She used to go on and on answering questions you didn't even ask. 5 minutes of monologue from her when all you need to know is what time is my appointment. At least that's better. Now she says things like". I can help you schedule an appointment. Oops something has gone wrong. Please call back later. No I will get an agent to help you". Are you kidding me?. I will say that the optometrists I've seen there over the years have been wonderful and the products have been fantastic. But what's going on there now is heartbreaking.

I called ABT and spoke with Lou (his direct # 847-954-4140). I did some research before I called and liked the Samsung 55." 4K NEO QLED, originally $1,297.99, on sale for $897.99. Lou stated, "They had a sale starting tomorrow (Saturday) and that he could sell it to me for $651.00." Great! Lou said he could have it delivered next Tuesday. I explained my mother's situation and asked if it could be delivered tomorrow, on Saturday. Lou said, "I'll make it happen." Now that is exceptional customer service! Josh Hoffman was the technician who delivered and set up my mother's new Samsung TV. Josh programmed the Xfinity remote to the new TV, and my mother accidentally hit something that made the TV verbally announce everything she did. Josh asked if she wanted that, and my mother said no. Josh was quick-witted and a comedian; he had my mother laughing. You certainly can tell when an employee loves their job! THANK YOU SO MUCH, LOU AND JOSH, FOR MAKING THIS PURCHASE GO SO SMOOTHLY AND ENJOYABLE FOR MOM!

I've always enjoyed supporting local businesses, but my experiences at Culture Shock were deeply…read moredisappointing, and I would advise others to avoid it. The owner, especially the gentleman with dreads, came across as insincere and unprofessional during both of my interactions. I brought in a crate of valuable hip hop records to sell, as I needed to cover a last-minute bill because I was the sole caregiver for my grandmother that had dementia, so her hospital bills were stacking up. I explained this to him, and I shouldn't have, but I didn't think he would take advantage of my situation. Despite showing the clear worth of my records--including a sealed original "Marshall Mathers LP" valued at over $200--the owner offered just $300 for over 50 albums of similar value. As a collector with over 20 years of experience, I knew this was a shockingly low offer. Needing the money and with other stores closed, I reluctantly accepted, but I felt completely ripped off. Later, the owner came to my home to view more records. He spent two hours carelessly disorganizing my collection, then made another unreasonably low offer. When I declined, he became aggressive, raising his voice and accusing me of wasting his time. His unprofessional conduct in my own home was appalling. I captured the entire incident on camera and seriously considered posting it, as his behavior crossed every line of respect and professionalism. Ultimately, he offered just $230. The next day, I sold the same records to Toad Hall for $1,400--over six times what Culture Shock had offered. This stark difference shows just how unfair their pricing is -- both buying and selling. While the owner's wife seemed polite, the owner (Skyler) behavior was entirely unacceptable. He clearly only values customers willing to accept unfair deals, and without his wife, I doubt this business would survive. After spending thousands of dollars here over the years, I can confidently say I will never return. If you value fair treatment and professionalism, take your business elsewhere. Toad Hall treated both me and my records with care and offered fair prices and they sell for reasonable prices as well and have a much better collection -- something I did not experience at Culture Shock.
