I can't say enough good things about this place. I grew up in NJ. Since moving to Saratoga 16 years ago, have been looking for good NJ/NYC-style pizza. I discovered Fierro's maybe 2 years ago. They never disappoint. Their pizza, and their garlic parm wings, are five-star outstanding. Had a bunch of people over for poker last night, and everyone--EVERYONE--talked about how great the pizza was, and hey, where was it from? (Um...look at the box! ) In any case, I couldn't remember if I had ever reviewed Fierro's, and looks like I did a year ago, but hey, time for another one! Highly, highly recommend. read more

First experience here was great. However, this recent order of a large pizza, wings and Caesar salad was disappointing. Salad looked old (red tint on the salad leaves, wilted) and the pizza definitely didn't seem wood fired and was bland. Wings were pretty good, but overall for $55 not impressed. read more

Tried Fierro's pizza for the first time last week. I ordered via Mealeo since they weren't open when I tried to call. Next time I'll call directly -when they're open- since there were a few things on the menu that didn't make it over to Mealeo. The order was ready on time; service was very efficient and friendly. The interior looked REALLY clean and staff was masked. Not sure if the seating area is open yet, but they clearly do a LOT of takeout. We had the regular large cheese pizza and the Greek pizza...it was nice and hot! While I thought the plain pizza was ok, the Greek was the favorite of the night. We all agreed and kept going back for more of the Greek. I would definitely go back and try some other stuff on the menu. I've got my eyeballs on one of the desserts...s'mores pizza!!! read more

Fierro's has been closed part of the time during autumn of 2021 for renovation, and with that, I think an updated review is useful. The kitchen side has been completely redone. Think of the counter area as having been rotated clockwise a quarter-turn, with the pickup counter on the right, and on the back left, you have a couple of bistro seats, I guess for either eating in or waiting for a take-out order to be ready. Besides the kitchen/counter area, a lot of other things have been updated. That includes their website. Their menu has been mostly streamlined, but it has a few new items. They no longer offer weeknight dinner specials. Dinner entrees no longer come with a salad. Prices for pizzas and entrees have gone up a dollar or two each. The pizza hasn't changed. I would not place it among my favorite pizzas, but I do like it. Portions seem slightly better. The side salad I ordered in place of the smaller one you'd get with an entree was much larger than I expected. We ordered one of their new entrees, a vegetable lasagna, which was $1 less than their regular lasagna ($15 versus $16), and it was enough for two servings. There don't appear to be any changes to the dining room. At the time of this writing, I believe they are take-out only, but that is temporary given our current situation. But overall, I'm still satisfied with the meals and the service. read more

Pizza is okay. The crust is pretty meh and they know nothing about char. It's solid local pizza when you don't want to cook. But it's never ready on time. Usually delayed by 15+ minutes and often one arrives and they're like, "oh ctap you're order isn't in yet". They don't know how to manage their volume so when things come in all at once you're screwed. Their excuse is always that too much came in at once from mealeo. So maybe don't use that app? The point of pizza is timely food that is consistently good. People don't want to wait for B- pizza. The new owner is essentially willing to trade volume for reputation, which works nicely for the short term but has long term negative consequences. read more

A fairly classic Italian American restaurant along route 9N in a Stewart's plaza. The menu is straight down the middle red sauce, subs and pizza. Probably a family pleaser in the area. My sausage pizza was on par for the area. Neither bad nor great. The sausage stood out as the highlight of the slice, with good flavor and fennel. Prices are fair and portions are good. They have a dining room that has reopened and as the sign says "We missed you". read more

my wife and I have been occasional customers for nearly 30 years. We always eat in the dining room as an inexpensive way to eat out. The people seemed friendly enough but wouldn't take an order at the table. The slices of pizza we got were tasteless and we compared it to cardboard when we got in the car. They did seem busy enough so they probably don't care that they will lose two occasional customers. There are much better pizza places in the area. read more

Great place for lunch ! If you are from out of town it's not too far from the Ulysees Grant Cottage. Came here in between the cottage visit and the Saratoga Automobile Museum. Glad we stopped in. Friendly staff. Plenty of seating. Pizza slices are large. Sandwiches are great. read more

Absolutely the worst I've ever had. $25+ for a large. Sauce is nearly non existent making it dry like the cardboard box it came in. Slice size is about 3 bites. Pizza is barely sliced. On two separate occasions including today I placed online orders through their Mealeo app (also garbage). Both times I arrived at the restaurant at the designated time and no one bothered to put the order in. The first time I waited an additional almost 20 minutes. This time I ordered and it gave me a 30 min window. I arrived at 20 and stated I was early. She didn't seem to be aware, grabbed a receipt and looked at it, and then set it on top of the little cooler in the front. For the next 10 minutes, she checked a number of people out and tried to give me a slice of Cheese pizza that was for someone else. Obviously, she had no idea what I ordered. Finally, she asked me what I ordered and I told her. She went to the back, returned to the front, grabbed the slip, and then went back again. She then came back and said they never put the order in. It's now 35+ minutes and I needed to go. Thus the reason I ordered online was to save time. She claimed they could make something real quick which I know based on the last visit, is 10-15 minutes. I asked for the order to be canceled and refunded. No one knew how to do that and said they had to call the owner. Maybe if the owner was ever there and not absent, the kids running the place would have a clue. Never ever again. And don't use Mealeo, they cannot help you. We have been getting our pizza from Fierro's because it's convenient - right on 9N in Greenfield Center. I admit to being a pizza snob, coming from NJ where the best pizza in the world exists (Rudy's in Closter and the Star Tavern in West Orange), so to give Fierro's a 3.5 rating (which is more accurate than the 3.0 rating the system here allows) is pretty impressive. Having said that, Fierro's makes a very good thin-crust pizza, although I think $28 for a large pie with three toppings is a little steep. We have also ordered their garlic parmesan chicken wings, which are very good. They do offer other Italian specialties, but I must admit, their sauce is disappointing. I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan and it was ... sorry ... boring. I think I will stick to their pizza and wings. The people there have always been friendly. The only thing you have to be aware of is that they charge for delivery, which came as a surprise because I live within their delivery area. There was no mention of it, and I tipped the delivery guy generously. Only noticed it when I looked at the receipt. read more

Went to this establishment because it is around the corner from where we were staying. Thought we would stop in to look at the menu and order delivery. We were in a rush to get home and let the dog out. You can order delivery only online, they will not take your order in the restaurant. Which makes zero sense when the cellular coverage is barely there in the entire town. After setting up an account, verifying phone number and entering tons of info..... you have to then go to your mobile banking to verify your account...... again cellular coverage is horrible. So we gave up and didn't order the more than $80 meal. Hunger made us Decide to call in and come back- bill is now $56? It was over $20 for the auto gratuity and delivery fee? It was two pizzas and wings, not prime rib! The Hawaiian pizza had the skimpiest toppings I have seen on a pizza. And the white broccoli the others said was decent, but we all agreed it wasn't worth the hassle. We will never go back again when in the area. read more

My friend asked me to go to this place and I was super hesitant. To be honest, I'm a Yelp snob. There are too many great restaurants to spend time at places with less than four stars. However, she found out the original owners bought the place back from the people that all the bad reviews about. As it turns out, the original owners (approximately 15 years ago), started this namesake as they LOVE food. However, they started creating a family and sold to a local guy. The kids are teens now and the opportunity came up to purchase their namesake back. "Great story," I said, "How about some food?" Now, I usually avoid Italian/pizza restaurants as I grew up with the best and can throw down myself. First off, the place is immaculate. Standard restaurant tables and chairs; however, it's perfect for a pizza/deli/Italian place. As soon as we walked in, the female owner greeted us as if we were family. Their teen son seated us and he had such a polite, humble air. He was nervous, just getting into this, but it all added to his charm. Further, we never had to ask for a refill, more napkins or anything. He was on it. I ordered a veggie calzone and asked for extra sauce. No extra charge and no problem. Child had standard 5 year old fare: buttered noodles. Friend had lasagna with side salad and bread. Husband had a meatball grinder. Older son had a Buffalo Chicken pizza roll. Friend's kid had pizza and salad. As it turns out, the owner makes her own desserts, as well. I couldn't finish but a quarter of my calzone (it was huge) but everyone else wanted dessert! Black Forest Cupcakes, Cheesecake, and Flourless chocolate torte were some offerings they gobbled up. My God...it was all so yummy. I'm sad to have to write a bad review about Fierro's because I usually like to be pretty lenient on small town businesses. However, there are two bad experiences that I've had with them in the past month. When I went in, after going to this little pizza shop for years, and sat down with the menu in their separate dining room area. Keep in mind, you cannot see the register area from the dining area, unless you have x-ray vision. Anyway, my family and I ordered from the menu, ate our food, and got the check; which was not the same amount as the prices shown on the menu. When we went to the counter to pay, we explained that the prices in the menu were different and that we should get the food for those prices, and the cashier REFUSED to compromise, saying that when you walk in, you should pay attention to the menu above the register, and you can't trust the menus on the table. This is RIDICULOUS. We ended up having to pay almost $15.00 more because of this error and they were so rude it was terrible. A few weeks later, I decided that I wanted pizza. They are usually open relatively late for pickup so I decided to order a pizza and pick it up. When I got there, expecting to pay $14.00 for an 8 cut pizza, they charged me $21.95. Almost 22.00 for an 8 cut pizza without any warning of the price change? Absolutely ridiculous in price. The pizza was freezing when I picked it up and the toppings were few and far between. I'm sorry to have to write such a bad review, but I would absolutely avoid this pizza place at all costs. They lie about their prices and their service is terrible. I have also seen them without hairnets or gloves on many occasions, leading me to believe that sanitary practices aren't important either. read more

Regrettably, this is the closest pizza to me. It is waaaay over priced for what is quite possibly the lowest quality pizza, wings and subs in the area. I really wanted to like it, and tried many times to both dine in and take out. First, dining in was just plain bad - service (nonexistent), it took way too long and the food was sub-par at best - this being the one time my wife I ordered their pasta - overcooked with a unseasoned sauce. The last thing I want to mention is that they are actually kind of rude. Not just one person either - and both over the phone and in person. I wonder if they read these things? Ordered 2 pizzas and some garlic knots, was told they'd be ready in 30-35 minutes. Ran a few quick errands and ended up getting there an hour later. Paid $52 (outrageous prices) and stood there for 5 minutes as the three people behind the counter looked around for my food. Asked if it was ready and was told, "if it was ready I would have given it to you". I explained that the order was placed an hour ago and was told it would be 30-35 minutes. The owner didn't believe me and was talking under his breath about me while I was standing right there, and he went and checked the ticket, yup, ordered placed at 6:07, and I was there at 7:09. Food still wasn't ready, when pizza finally came out of the oven it wasnt even fully cooked.Cheese was hardly melted and dough was floppy and soft. I recently moved to less than a mile from Fierro's from New York City, where I lived for all of my previous 63 years. In that time, needless to say, I had my share of pizza from the sublime to the not so sublime. I offer this prelude to understand that I may have unreasonable expectations as to what a local pizzeria should be. Fierro's is not great, but it is more than good enough to satisfy my local pizzeria needs. I've become a regular take-out customer. I've come to make their deluxe pie my go to; after ordering it about a half a dozen times, I find it pretty good. It doesn't live up to the standards of an NYC slice from my old corner, but is a lot more convenient. It also freezes and reheats great. Their meatball and chicken parm heros (I think they are called subs up here) are tasty; only the bread is not quite up to par, but toasting it in the oven hides the so-so quality. You can buy great bread in many places, including Mrs London's in Saratoga. What makes NYC different, is the quality of run of the mill Italian bread available. It's just much better than anywhere else. It's amazing what folks outside of NYC are willing to accept as Italian Bread. I will never be happy with Subway quality bread in everyday sandwich shops, but taken as a whole, the hot subs here are quite satisfying. I'm at a loss to understand why veal parm isn't on the menu. They should also try pepper and egg and potato and egg heros to see if they would sell here. The chicken parm dinner is also good. Much smaller portion than you get in most local places in NYC, but it's actually a more appropriate size. But they should serve a thicker spaghetti than vermicelli alongside. The best thing about Fierro's is the staff and their attention to quality. Everything is prepared fresh, and the quality is consistent. In short, I'm glad they are in my new neighborhood. read more
