We have eaten here many times. There pizza is excellent, thin crust and crispy. We have had there turkey club several times as well, very good. Today we had slices of cheese and pepi pizza, delish. Staff always helpful and friendly, we recommend.

After looking for a decent place to get a pizza while on vacation and reading the 41/2 star reviews my husband and I decided to try Angelina's. We ordered a Sicilian cheese pie and an eggplant parmigiana hero. They were very busy and we waited an hour for our order. Unfortunately the Sicilian pie did not meet our expectations. It looked delicious when we opened the box . Although the sauce was good and there was plenty of cheese the dough was tasteless and chewy. The hero on the other hand was delicious and cheesy with a nice tasting sauce . If we decide to go back again we will try the round pie .

A little pricey for what you get in my opinion. They do sometimes have coupons in the Albany coupon book. You know, the big one. New York style pizza, thin crust..sausage is pretty good and seems homemade. If they'd bring their prices down a few bucks per pie and put more toppings, I'd buy pies from.them a lot more frequently. Personally, I like Queen of Hearts pizza in Queensbury better...different style but they don't skimp on cheese or toppings.

While passing through Queensbury recently, I stopped for dinner takeout at Angelina's Pizza, which is located in a small strip plaza on Quaker Road. The place is very casual, order at the counter with table seating nearby. I love reading the old time newspaper ads on the tables! Free wifi is available too! This place serves up NY style pizza (12"-16"-18"), Sicilian pizza, calzones, strombolis, subs, salads, appetizers, pasta dinners, and desserts (cannolis, cake). Several $5 Lunch Specials are offered 11-2, including 2 cheese slices, 3 knots & can of soda. See the menu at http://www.angelinasny.com/AngelinasPizza/Menu.html I stopped in here around 5:00PM and the place was fairly busy. Since I had an Entertainment BOGO coupon, I decided to order 2 pasta dinners Penne Ala Vodka ($7.95) and Linguini with Red Clam Sauce ($8.50) which included salads and bread. The total for 2 dinners came out to under $10 with tax. I ran a quick errand and returned 20 minutes later and waited another 5 minutes, food all set! The service was hectic and acceptable. I drove home 55 minutes away and the dinners were still very hot in the foil containers. I shared the food with my folks, good sized portions for the discounted price! The Penne Ala Vodka had a good hearty flavor, thick sauce in al dente penne pasta. The Linguine with Red Clam Sauce was actually Spaghetti since they ran out of linguine. This dish had plenty of very firm clams on top of the soft spaghetti with chunks of tomatoes, not too heavy tasting. The side salads were fresh. Overall, the dinners we had tasted pretty good! (3.7/5.0 stars)

Angelina's is a Queensbury staple. The best pizza in the area for sure. The chicken parm is freakin amazing at this place. I highly recommend it! Garlic knots are great and pizza is awesome. Salads are fresh! Family owned place that really cares about the quality of their food and their customers. These guys bust their butts and do a damn good job.

Meatball appetizer, big and rich in flavor with meatballs not too soft or hard. Great with warm bread that was provided. Main course was beyond big and easily two meals on each platting. Chicken parm was tender and nicely seasoned with pasta side. I had a special of peppers and onions in a spicy red sauce with crumbled sausage and bucatini as the pasta. It was cooked well and had a nice warm spice, but not over powering heat, easily two meals. Drink prices were market priced with a wine $ 8.00 for a good pour. Server was personable and attentive throughout our visit. It would appear the kitchen is small and staffed accordingly. I hear they limit take out orders when very busy and best to call ahead for complete info on a weekend. Overall great experience and will visit again.

This building was formerly The Open Door Mission (now on Warren Street). Staying in the area over the weekend, I decided to head over to Giovanni Fresco for takeout. I have a sweet spot for fresh pasta. There was a short line of customers when I arrived here. They had a Saturday which was a half tray of Penne ala Vodka, 6 meatballs and dinner rolls for $39.99. The place is geared for takeout with a few tables here if you want to eat in. However, I decided on the Fresh Pappadelle with Meat Sauce ($12.99 plus tax), 2 Meatballs ($4 plus tax), Traditional Arancini ($5 plus tax), Fried Mac & Cheese ($5 plus tax) and Sfogliatelle (3 for $10 plus tax). I figured this would be enough food for a big dinner for myself. The owner Giovanni explained the homemade foods offered at his business. Back at the house, I enjoyed my haul for dinner. The fresh pasta dish with meat sauce with the meatballs in thick marinara were still nice and hot. The pappardelle noodles were cooked just right, the sauces were hearty and the meatballs (not big) had a very soft moist texture. The Traditional Arancini was a deep fried rice ball filled with mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce on the side. The Fried Mac & Cheese ball was very good too. The Sfogliatelle for dessert each had a firm flaky pastry shell filled with a sweet vanilla ricotta filling, great with my espresso. This is one stop I would definitely return to so I can try out their other Italian dishes such as the lasagna, homemade fettuccine alfredo, and penne ala vodka.

We started with two of their famous suppe (soup) - Spargelcremesuppe - gream of asparagus w/ garlic croutons ($8.50) and the most popular seasonal Cream of Yellow Chatrelle Mushroom Suppe w/ bacon & onion ($15.50). Unique to us and delicious. Dinners were trio of wild game sausages-wild boar, rabbit, & elk served w/homefries, red cabbage, & ligonberry sause ($34.50), Schweinelende-pan-seared pork tenderloins w/yellow chantrelle sauce, potato croquettes, and bacon wrapped green beans ($36.50), Gebratene Schweine Haxe-pork shank slow roasted with dunckel (dark) beer sauce w/ potato dumplings & sauerkraut ($35). The last dinner was the Bavarian Sampler Tour of German Cusine for Two - 12 items on this platter ($80). Our party of five could have shared this dish. It was Wunderbar! Spargel serves authentic & unique dinners along with the familiar such as Rouladen, Schnitzels, & Goulash. Desserts were creme brulee Grand Manier ($12.50) & apple strudel w/ warm vanilla sauce ($9.50). Their online menu is a must see before a visit. Outstanding meals & excellent service. We tried the sweet potato pakoras and lumpia and the trio of house made dips (we liked the green mint-e one best). Everything was tasty, including the sauces that came up with them. Our kids shared the ramen which they split into two large bowls that didn't even look like a split dish given how much it was. My wife got the spare ribs which melted off the bones and had great flavor. The scallop dish I ordered came with six scallops that were a good size and also came with some gnocci, a delicious and unique sauce, and an unusual lobster with veggie type of ceviche salad accoutrement. The chef/owner came out and greeted us after the meal to ask how everything was and we could honestly respond that it was our best meal of the week. The only issue I encountered involved the pricing on my bill. When I received the check, it seemed to be several dollars higher than what I remembered seeing on the menu. I politely mentioned it to our waitress, who appeared surprised and said she would double-check. She returned with the menu, placed it in front of us, pointed to the listed prices, and commented that she hadn't realized the discrepancy herself. The difference on our bill was only about $4 to $5, so it wasn't a major financial issue. However, my concern is that many customers may not carefully compare the menu prices to their final bill and may never notice if there is a pricing discrepancy. I'm sharing this review not to criticize, but in the hope that ownership or management will look into it and make sure the menu pricing and register pricing are consistent. I enjoyed the food and service and would return, but I believe this is something that should be addressed for the benefit of both the restaurant and its customers.
