There's such a wide variety to choose from that it feels like there's something for every palate, whether you're a cocktail fan or a wine lover. If this spot were closer to me, I know I'd be here all the time. Since it isn't, I don't get to visit as often as I'd like, but that almost makes it more special--it feels like a real treat every time I come. For dessert our waiter brought us a crème brulee' with a little candle in it and he wished us a Happy Anniversary and told us it was on the house! My parents could've split one order, however, they now have a second full meal at home- the noodles from the pasta are homemade. The Daily Specials are always incredible and ever changing. Chef has it going on, and is building a helluva reputation for his business. To top it all off, they have a fantastic beer selection that pairs brilliantly with the menu. Also, they have an INCREDIBLE Bourbon menu as well. Colden Country Inn is just outstanding across the board. If you're anywhere near Colden, do yourself a favor and check it out no matter the time of year. In the winter they have dining igloos on the outdoor deck, that are heated. Such a cool concept! The food was incredible, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere in Ellicottville was fantastic - not a single complaint across the board. But what made our visit unforgettable was the General Manager, Adam, who gave us a masterclass in world-class customer service. Full disclosure: I had two complete "rookie mistakes" during our meal that I've never done in my life. First, while reaching for a slice of pizza, I managed to send the entire rest of the pizza - pan, rack, and all - crashing onto the floor. Mortified is an understatement. Before I could even finish apologizing, Adam stepped in. He had a staff member clean it up in literally ten seconds, flashed a warm smile, and calmly said a new pizza would be right out. Zero frustration, zero annoyance--he handled it with complete grace and had a second, fresh pizza at our table in minutes. He made sure I didn't feel embarrassed for even a second. To make matters worse, five minutes after walking out the door, my phone rang. It was Adam, politely letting me know I'd left my credit card behind. When I walked back in feeling twice as foolish, he handed it over with a smile and a good laugh after I admitted it wasn't my banner day. Great food is easy to find, but genuine, gracious, above-and-beyond hospitality like Adam's is rare.
