We stopped in for lunch after touring the Brookgreen Gardens. Some locals at the condo raved about the place. We sat outside and my wife ordered a highly recommended shrimp fajita. I decided on a burrito El Pastor, since I enjoyed it so much on 2 business trips to Jalisco, MX. The shrimp fajita was top notch. Lots of large, tender shrimp and carmelized veggies with the usual rice and beans on the side. Excellent. A good value at $21. My El Pastor burrito came with French fries (my bad for not noticing). For $16 it was not bad tasting but was very skimpy on the meat and was nothing like the red colored, seasoned roasted pork like they serve in Mexico. It was ground pork, sautéed with pineapple bits but was not bad tasting. Probably 1/3 cup of ground pork in the whole thing. Not a very big or stuffed tortilla. If you go, pay attention to the fact that some dishes are served with fries instead of the usual rice and beans. The shrimp fajita is a great way to go. Service was good, chips were fresh and made in clean oil. The salsa was very good, being thicker than most all typical Mexican restaurants I have visited in the USA and not too much cilantro or salt. read more

What a bizarre, unpleasant experience! It's almost 90 degrees today. When we arrived we were offered a "outside table with an umbrella." We say ok and are led to a group of tables basically in the parking lot. The umbrella doesn't block the sun at all and the asphalt is baking so we're scorching hot. Ordered table side guacamole, carnitas, and ceviche. Food is average at best. We were looking to relax and have a few drinks but no way. Atmosphere is totally chaotic. Servers, hosts, and bussers are swarming around the tables constantly. Our table side guacamole cart has a big tip sign and container attached, so we feel obligated to tip them just for that. Our entrées arrived immediately, literally too fast to enjoy our drinks and guacamole. Even our server expressed surprise that our food had already been brought out.. A few minutes later a band arrives and starts playing amplified music 10 feet from our table. We were only seated for about 20 minutes and we were ready to leave because it was so chaotic and loud. We finished eating quickly. My heart was pounding and we bailed. This was just a strange and unpleasant experience. Won't be going back. read more

First time visitors and may I say...hands down the best Al pastor tacos I've ever had! I always judge a Mexican cuisine on, if they have good tamales. If they have food tamales it's a go! This was an awesome find. Started with warm chips & flavorful salsa. The table side guacamole was the best. The star of this dish was the pickled garlic relish & cojita cheese that topped the guacamole. Every dig in with a chip brought something new to your tastebuds. We had the Chilaquiles & steak/chicken fajitas - both were good size servings. The meat was tender, seasoned well, overall combinations were so tasty. Great selection of drinks. Suggest trying the blackberry margaritas on the rocks. Sweet but not over sweet. The server was friendly & had a warm fun personality. We were driving back from downtown and noticed this restaurant. It's on the main drag but not in a heavily commercial area. The parking lot was packed on a Monday night in October. That's a good sign! Service was excellent! The dining room was spacious enough that you didn't feel like other tables were sitting on top of you. The salsa and chips were good. The chicken fajitas were excellent but the steak fajitas were much smaller and the meat was fairly tough. That was the only thing approaching a negative. I have officially found my new favorite Mexican restaurant outside of Mexico. Being from Ohio, there's a plethora of "Mexican" restaurants, but none are this good. Everything was delicious. We ordered the carne asada and fajitas, as well as multiple rounds of queso, and guacamole made fresh at the table! The best part of the evening had to be the wonderful Long Island Iced Teas they made us. Get the large one--it's only $10 and it is by far the best Long Island I've ever had in my entire life! I've drove past this place before and finally decided to stop in on a Thursday night. They had live music and he sounded wonderful!! Our waiter Rio was the best, he was so knowledgeable and friendly. Great food fast. More than I can finish usually. The margaritas are a necessity to make the meal perfect. I was assured the refried beans and flour tortillas were made without lard or other animal ingredients and the rice is cooked in vegetable and not flesh broth. This is a great choice for Tex-Mex in Myrtle Beach, especially during COVID. The tables were socially distanced and everyone was wearing masks. The service was very fast - when we checked in they told us there would be a 35 minute wait and it ended up only being 12 minutes. From checking in with the hostess to walking out with the check only took 1 hour. The second we sat down we were checked in for drink orders and received our drinks quickly and our food soon after ordering it. My partner said the margarita he ordered was very good. We were both hungry and walked away very satisfied. I ordered a vegetarian combo and my partner ordered "a little bit of everything," which is two plates worth of deliciousness.
