My company went here for a team event. I had so much fun. There were multiple activities going on: basketball machines, Photobooth (very small for one or two people per frame), skee ball machines, and bowling alley. The bowling alley broke down a bit more often than I expected. But overall it doesn't matter too much. The drinks and the food were delicious. My previous employer rented this whole place out for a late holiday party! This was in January 2020, before the pandemic hit. We entered and there was coat check! We went to the lower level first ("the basement"), down the stairs. There was food along a wall and a line for it. There was also a bar, a couple of bowling lanes, a photo booth, a hoops arcade game, and some tables/seating for eating! The drinks we had were great and we had quite a few (I enjoyed them soo much that I don't remember what we had lol, mind you this is also a review for an event almost a year ago). We later did some bowling down there! Because my company rented out the place, the photo booth and printed photos were free! As was the bowling. So, based on that alone, I highly recommend this place for a private event! There are lots of games and activities. The photos were engraved with the company, the words "holiday party," and the year 2020 to signify the occasion! As for food, we enjoyed some sliders and tacos. Then, when we went up to the main floor, there is kinda like a large dance floor space in the middle. This venue used to be Ruby Skye, and I think they still do live music events/concerts here. Along each side of the dance floor area, they had tables with more buffet food. Finally, you can go up to the mezzanine level! It's fun to people-watch down from this level. There was a hidden speakeasy bar on this floor too. The one thing I would point out for a space like this is that it's so large and expansive that it may be hard to find your friends here haha. Like you can be on completely different floors or in hidden rooms on a floor! Overall, the vibe of the venue is really hip and I really enjoyed it! We hosted our post wedding event at Fifth Arrow to end our wedding weekend. It was perfect for both adults (full bar) and kids (bowling and games). It fit our 90ish guest count perfectly and was super roomy. It was also right around the corner from Westin St. Francis where all of our family and friends were staying for the wedding which made it super convenient. We worked with Nicole to coordinate and she was great! They curated signature drinks, had a welcome sign for us, and they also catered some food - pizza, chips/dips, empanadas. Fifth Arrow is located in the basement of a theater like building. You will need to go down the stairs when you first arrive. Make sure to get all your calls or messages to others when you are outside, since my friends and I had bad reception after we went into the restaurant. It's a really cute place though, with a couple bowling alleys and food/drinks. Food ordered: 1. Margherita Pizza (5/5): This is your basic Margherita pizza with Mozzarella Cheese, tomato sauce, basil, olive oil, and a special little bit of sprinkling of sea salt. 2. Funghi Pizza (3/5): Don't get me wrong, I like mushrooms, but maybe just not these type specifically. There was a stracciatella white sauce base, Wine Forest Mushroom, and was topped with a drizzle of Truffle Oil. This was a savorier pizza in contrast to the other pizzas tried. Butternut Squash Pizza (4/5): Topped with cubes of butternut squash, sprinkled with pomegranate seeds, and a bit of sage leaves, this one was aesthetic. The stracciatella white sauce base was the same as the Funghi Pizza and it was fine. Beers and wine are cheaper :p It wasn't too crowded either. Booking was easy. I prepaid and booked one lane for the 5 of us for $110, 2 hours. Price includes shoes. I'm a scotch / whisky / rye girl. Still lighter than I typically prefer, but I didn't mind it here. There is bowling at Fifth Arrow, but we just came to drink, so never checked it out. I believe they only have three lanes, so I'd advise looking into a reservation. I looked online and it seems rates for a lane reservation run at $55 per hour. This may be fun to bowl once if in the area, but I think I'd rather just go to a bowling alley if I really wanted to partake in the sport. This feels more like it exists for the novelty of it. I used to come here all the time when this spot was Slide. The bones of the space are the same, but it has a completely different feel. And the infamous slide is gone. Pre-pandemic review. We came here to celebrate a birthday and had such a fun evening with friends. Reservation and check-in was super smooth and service was spectacular. You can order everything from the menu right at the bowling lane and food gets delivered to the table. Food was delicious. There are only 3 lanes at this location but truth be told, I was surprised to see a bowling alley this size in SF in the first place. We stopped by after watching Cursed Child at the Curran Theatre around the corner for a few beers with friends and it was super chill - we could actually hear each other talk, which was a huge plus for a bar on a Friday night. If you like games this place is for you. They have bowling, arcade games, and a ton of boardgames scattered about. Came here for a birthday dinner and bowling tonight, it was surprisingly really good! We got some food and drinks before heading to bowling. We tried the wings, sliders, mushroom pizza, sausage pizza and the chopped salad. For bar food it was actually pretty tasty! I was impressed. The service was good, we had a few minor mishaps but nothing crazy. After we finished dinner, we migrated our food and drinks over to the bowling alley. With only 3 lanes, we got an hour in but it was fun and I hadn't enjoyed the techno music! I'll definitely be back. read more

Great spacious and chill place to come with a group! I came here with a group of 10+. Come before 6pm so you get the happy hour deals for beer and wine! We ordered a variety of food, and everything tasted pretty good! There are board games at tables (operation, clue, etc), a few games (like basketball, skee ball, etc), and three lanes for bowling! Reserving a table for food is separate from reserving a lane, so be sure to reserve both if you want to do both! We managed to get a lane that freed up after we ate. The lanes are smaller, and they use string pinsetters (meaning each pin is attached to a "string"). This makes resetting pins super quick, and I'm sure some people have opinions on freefall vs string... but I'm no bowling pro so I'm happy with whatever! Friendly staff! Ok I'm a suburban and easily impressed maybe, but having to walk down a flight of stairs and ending up in a time machine bowling alley with 80's playing on the hifi and being able to sidle up to the cutout in the wall where you can watch the bowling from mid-lane while sipping a nice whiskey neat, and the balls roll by and the pins get knocked down and they get pulled back up again, over and over, this is worth something. And the whiskey turns into sitting at the bar for another and a salciccia pizza to go with it and it's so good, the crust is as good as the bartender promised. My boyfriend booked a lane here for his birthday on a Saturday this past month. I've walked past this place so many times, I'd never expect that there were bowling lanes, games, and a surprisingly huge bar/restaurant area in this basement! He booked over two hours of bowling from when they opened at 4 pm; lucky for us they also have happy hour on the weekends too (4-6 daily) with great beer and wine specials! The bowling was a little weird, but of course still entertaining. It was definitely not traditional bowling: lanes were short and seemed overly waxed and the bowling pins were on strings like puppets! I think it used sensors to figure out which pins were knocked over, but with the strings involved sometimes you get residual knock over of nearby pins because the strings got caught. It could also be a relatively long wait until the lane refreshed because the strings would get all tangled. Also, only up to 6 users can play at once so you should either come with a smaller group or double up with teams like we did. In terms of food and drinks, I stuck with wine since the full bottles were only $20 during happy hour but there were plenty of good sounding cocktails I want to try if I come back. To stay from gluten like me, they have limited food options. I tried the green salad and the riblets for protein because they did not have any meat add on options. I enjoyed both; the salad was big and the riblets were pretty much full ribs so they were good for sharing as well. Overall, it was a good time for reasonable prices. Just don't come here expecting to bowl for real like my boyfriend did - that was the only disappointment of the day for someone who owns his own bowling ball and shoes! read more

This place is definitely hidden and can be difficult to find. There is a cute little bowling pin sign hanging on the outside. I went to Fifth Arrow for company team outing in which we rented out all three lanes. It is definitely a small, but cute place that I'm not sure many people know about! The bowling area was definitely a little less well-lit compared to the photo online, but we still had fun regardless! The appetizers and the drinks were great! And during happy hour the drinks are cheeeap - such a great deal! We were also there while a Warriors game was happening, so the bar area definitely got decently-more crowded around 6PM. read more

It's hard to believe that this place is underground. And the amount of space is impressive. First the bowling...3 lanes, charged by the time, and includes show rental. Lanes are tight and they don't have the dots to start and line up. And the pins are actually on wires for pin set up. The drinks...a good variety with a full bar. Fifth Arrow is a fun, interactive bar right under the August Hall. At August, you'll find three bowling lanes, two skee ball lanes, a b-ball game, and a few arcade games. I remember coming here when this place used to be Slide, but it's a complete make over. There's 2 bowling lanes, plenty of tables and chairs, a few arcade games and hoops. It's a great place for team building and to socialize with a few friends. I came here on a Thursday which got pretty packed. Our server was great, forgot his name :(, but tall and skinny, extremely courteous and attentive. Love their pair that was a Jameson and IPA. They had happy hour until 6p, and I got there at 605p and bartender still was able to provide us with the hh prices. I ordered the pizza margherita, love the thin crust and crispiness. I came in here alone and went straight to the bar and good thing I got the bartender to notice me with a help of a fellow man sitting beside me. the waiter seemed like he was in a rush - gave me my food twirled away and didn't even give me utensils, i had to fetch someone else for utensils. when my friend arrive she ordered at the bar, same bartender took her order (repeated her order if it was right), then sat to our table. took almost 20 min for some french fries to find out the bartender didn't even put it in after having to ask a waitress how long is it going to take bcus our show is about to start? then waitress came back started making up an excuses (which was unnecessary) on top of that she seemed like she has a bit too much to drink. We had to take our food to go! I think the only person I liked was the lady in the front counter where we check in, she was nice & even offered us candy! How disappointing this place is. I'm writing this review mainly to let management know that whoever was working the bowling shoe rental/registration area Friday night (11/15) at 9pm and on was rude af. I don't know if she was having a bad day or what, but she probably shouldn't have come to work. That energy is not needed in such a cool, fun place. Please talk to her. Back story: a group of us came out to surprise my fiancé in honor of his school graduation. I booked and paid for 2 lanes for an hour, which included 12 pairs of bowling shoes. Incident #1: Once the surprise was done, one of the first things my friends said to me was that this bowling shoe lady was rude. I didn't think any of it because I had just gotten there. When we were ready to get our shoes, I approached her with a smile on my face because of a successful surprise... she didn't greet me. She had that look on her face that made me feel stupid, like "what do you want" type of vibe. She had serious attitude when I had a question about one of our friends was running late, if we can add him later. I don't recall exactly what she said but I remember feeling offended. I shook it off because it was supposed to be a happy celebration. I was here to have a good time. Incident #2: After she threw all the shoes on the counter (literally like she hates her job), she didn't give us any instructions so naturally we just started grabbing the shoes. We didn't know that certain ones were for women and certain ones were for men. She said something under her breath. Then, when I told her we were missing 1 pair, she again looked at me that attitude as if she's saying "okay, so what do you want." I explained to her that there's only 11 of us at the lanes but we only received 10 pairs. She was adamant about being correct, I actually got annoyed and told her to go look and count the shoes. She refused and told me "just use what he's wearing. he won't slip and slide anyways" Idk if this is okay with the management but sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen... Incident #3: A few of us thought our shoes were too big/too small. We went back to her and again, this attitude. I can't believe it. "Well that's what you put?" Like we can't change our mind or get the wrong shoe size... Overall, the place was super chill. The bowling alley was unique. The food was nice, especially the fries. YUM! I would've given this place a 5 star if it weren't for our interactions with this lady I've mentioned. She was being so difficult the whole night... not only to me but all of my guests. I was really embarrassed. We even left as soon as our bowling time ended because I didn't want to continue getting treated the way we were being treated. I was celebrating my thirtieth birthday. I reserved the bowling line trough the yelp and it was super convenient. Just choose your preferred time and lines, you can pay online with a plastic card. Then you receive a confirmation letter and it is done! Don't forget to read the service policy about the max quantity of people for one bowling line, socks and etc. But first of all, you have to find this spot. It is kinda hidden because of reconstruction process of the building. The entrance is right under the August Hall roof. You will see the glowing neon ad "Stay Lucky". This is a way inside. When you are in, just tell the manager your name, names of your friends, if you are with the company, and shoe sizes. And that is it, when all set you can see the names on the monitor above the bowling line, pick your ball up and let the game begin! If you are tired of the game you can take some food. You can count on fast service just behind your bowling line. You don't need to go anywhere, just grab the menu, call the waitress and in a few minutes, you can enjoy your meal. One little con of service: I didn't find any special service for my birthday like a birthday cake or even a discount. But it is no big deal, course the price was not high. And the waitress is super friendly and nice, so the can't claim the service:). There are three bowling lines inside. By the way, if wanna drink something without the bowling, please welcome, there is a bar inside with pretty good cocktails. They have a small amusement park inside but it is highly likely for kids, waiting for their parents playing a real game. One little con of area: the tables between the couches right behind the bowling lines are super tiny. They are just for drinks and don't have enough space for food, especially if you are playing with a big company with other five friends. This is a really really belated review, but I realized I never wrote one and I should! I threw my boyfriend a surprise 30th birthday here and it was amazing!!! The special events team was awesome and responsive - and really transparent with the best options for the guest size. I had about 45-50 people and ended up coordinating with them on reserving a space near the bowling lanes and reserving all 3 bowling lanes for 3 hours. No cost to reserve the space and normal hourly cost to reserve the lanes for 3 hours. I also ordered some appetizers for the guests to eat with recommendations from the events team. They really did a great job with advising on the right amount. Also - they allowed me to come in earlier and bring in my own decorations (balloons & banner - nothing big!). It ended up being a really great time and our waitress was so friendly and accommodating. The space is big and the bowling + drinks + cocktail bar vibe is definitely unique. My first experience at Fifth Arrow was for a holiday party in December. They have a big space filled with tables, booths, 3 bowling lanes and a small arcade area which made for a great venue for a holiday party. The cocktails and food were taken care of so we helped ourselves at the bar with some drinks. I opted for Earl of Derby - rye, grapefruit, lemon, honey, egg white and my BF opted for the Long Weekend - scotch, grapefruit, lemon, tamarind, IPA. Their cocktails all seem to have the bitters theme which is not my preference, but great for those who are into bitters. They also have a solid selection of beers on tap, I opted for the Founders porter which was delicious. The holiday party ordered a bunch of bites from the menu, here are some of the highlights for me: [1] Manchego Croquettes served with coriander honey and black sesame - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. [2] Roasted Garlic Shrimp served with chili, sun-dried tomato with ciabatta bread. [3] Funghi Pizza - stracciatela, wine forest mushrooms and truffle oil - I'm not much of a mushroom fan but this pizza was absolutely delicious, my favorite of the night. Tried this place before a show. Waited 10+ minutes to get a beer and they literally forgot about us. The garlic on the pizza was overwhelming. If you are going to put mass amounts of solid garlic on a pizza you should state that on your menu. Went to the show afterwards and the email stated that you could get in without waiting in line if you paid 40 dollars worth of food/drink. The waitress informed us we had to be in before the show. Not quite how I understood it... Pros: The people were friendly overall and they were kind enough to spot us a drink for the lack of service. The bar-tenders pretty much ignored me while I was sitting there, but were available when I managed to flag them down. I ordered the chop salad and it came with a massive amount of cheese. WHY?! I wish I had known (maybe it did say in the menu and I was just in a rush), but I still don't get why that much cheese is necessary on a salad. Meh. The pizza was decent. Not the best pizza ever, but not the worst. The drinks (beer + wine) were pretty inexpensive which I was excited about. When my friends did arrive, the bar had filled up, so I asked if we could sit at a table. The bartender told me to go ahead, but as soon as we sat down, one of the hosts rudely told us we couldn't sit at any table that said "reserved" (we didn't see that, and the bartender didnt say anything). She told us to sit at any table without a reserved sign and walked away. Welp, they all had reserved signs, so we were standing there, holding our food, with nowhere to go. Finally a bus boy found a spot for us at the end of the bar and helped us get adjusted. This whole encounter just gave me a bad taste in my mouth. Great place to hang out with friends. We were able To find reservation just one day in advance, which is generally unimaginable in San Francisco :) the lanes were kinda tight, so a big party will find it difficult to fit in. Parking can also be a little tricky to find around this neighborhood. But don't let those things deter you from coming here! We'll definitely be back :) Tip: They Also have a happy hr from 4-6pm with deals on beer and wine. Shoes were free to rent. read more

So I was very embarrassed to have a reservation here to only find out it was for a table? Excuse me?? I booked this place with the intention of bowling before heading to another restaurant for dinner. To Uber all the way here knowing nothing in life is cheap to find out I could not bowl! What a complete EMBARRASSMENT! The host tells me that this happens all the time. So if this happens ALL the time why wouldn't you specify your reservation booking. What an unfortunate situation. Then to be told their is NOTHING she could do for me?? Yeah thanks what a way to help your customer! This is definitely more of a hang out place than a restaurant, which we didn't realize. While my family and I were a bit out of place, we had a good time. Though the staff were kind, they weren't very prompt. The menu was also confusing. We didn't realize it was "per order" and that the portions were extremely small (the sliders were smaller than my hand and I am a fairly tiny girl). While the sliders were delicious, they were really expensive. The drinks were also okay. Chicken wings were alright. Nothing to write home about. I had a White Russian, which was alright. My mom and sister enjoyed the agua Fresca. There's music playing next door and a bowling alley right across the dining area, so expect a LOT of noise. Overall, I recommend coming here if you want a place to chill with your friends, drink, and grab a few bites. read more

If I was to rate them for their pizza, would be a perfect 5. Buuut... So we went and reserved a bowling lane at 4pm then hang out til 6 cos their website says 'Happy Hour Daily 4-6pm' but when we got there the door was locked and we weren't sure how to get it in. We had to call them if they were open because we don't want to lose our '1 hour bowling lane reservation'. After bowling, we went to a table by the bar and order pizzas and more beers. With full bellies, we asked for the bill and apparently they were 'NOT' on happy hour!!! We had to ask 3 TIMES and even showed the website to prove that they are misleading customers! Just be mindful and check first to make sure that all is good when you get here. And dont forget to get the pizza!!!! read more

Liking the new Slide, now part-bowling alley, part-bar with board games. The bowling alley only has 3 lanes, I think, and the whole area was booked up when we went on a Saturday evening. The dinner/bar area was pretty empty though, so we just took a couple seats at the bar. I wasn't wowed by the cocktails we had (Rose Colored Water and Cut Point, I believe), but I'd give it another go one day. I like that it's not crowded, so you can actually come in with friends, hear each other talk, grab some grub, and maybe play a huge game of connect 4. Actually they should fix that, since you could barely tell the two sides apart. So play huge jenga instead. read more

I tucked in here for a late night drink and food after a long day of travel. It's very cool, underground with a mini bowling alley! Excellent burgers, good vibe, and my bartender, Brynn, was exceptional. I learned that that they're brand new - I think it can be a winner. Food is good and vibe is cool. But service off was off because its new. Took a while to get drinks. Don't come for the bowling. Lane wasn't working properly. Balls were not being returned. Front pin didn't come down the whole time we bowled so we played with 9 pins. Update: Management reached out to me in order to get my feedback. They were very nice and assured me they are working out the kinks with the bowling alley and service. I think it's a great sign they're taking feedback and l'm sure they be able to improve going forward. read more
