Bridget and Rob, the couple that own this distillery are THE BEST! It's not hard to see why this place has five stars on Yelp. A couple friends and I came for a tour and tasting on a Saturday, and although our res was at 3pm, we ended up making the 2pm (Bridget was so nice and accommodating of the change in our time). It's a bit hard to find, but make sure you enter the Asylum Street address, and buzz at the green entrance door! We had a great time with Rob leading our tour and giving us a lot of info on the distillery process/Bridget leading our tasting. They gave us a tasting of all 14 offerings and also a bottle of water. I ended up walking away with 9 travel bottles! I also loved the cocktails they created with their liquor (the cider and cinnamon vodka mix was my favorite). We had such an enjoyable time, and we learned a lot! Would absolutely recommend that folks visit this distillery and support this local business!

Super local tour and tasting of an award winning distillery which is the first in Fairfield County since prohibition (if I heard Rob correctly). Super impressive! Rob,the owner and tour man, is a passionate entrepreneur who is well educated, knowledgeable and so personable and fun! This tour and tasting is well worth the time and money, with a fascinating history and enjoyable anecdotes with lots of samples to boot! Whiskey, vodka, gin...non GMO. Innovative and interesting flavors to sample and available for purchase.

My fiancé and I stopped by this distillery on a Saturday afternoon in August during COVID and were happy to find that they were open for free tastings! The owners Rob and Bridget were incredibly hospitable and friendly. They welcomed us like guests into their home and proceeded to giving us samples of almost every one of their products. My favorite was the Cranberry Mule cocktail they made with their ginger zap vodka. What a great cocktail for the summer! Rob was also kind enough to give us a private tour of their distillery and a quick chemistry lesson. I bought a bottle of their cocktail to go and they even threw in a few free samples of their other liquors. All in all, what a great experience in the middle of nowhere in Bridgeport! I highly recommend visiting this place to anyone looking for something to do during the quarantine.

My wife and I were looking for something inexpensive to do for the weekend and decided to take a tour at the Asylum Distillery. You need to call ahead and make a reservation and the tour costs $20. The location of the distillery would remind you, if you can imagine, of going to a speak easy during prohibition. The entrance is located between two buildings, down an alley and when you get to the door you must ring the doorbell to gain entry. Once inside, there are plenty of samples to try, whiskey, vodka, gin, moonshine, and some of their mixed cocktails. The tour of the distillery is a lot of fun and done well. There is trivia, history, explanation of the distilling process and more samples! I'm a bourbon guy and enjoyed the maple whiskey. So much so, I bought one to take home. I highly recommend a visit, it's a lot of fun and a great way to support a local business.

Hidden gem in Bridgeport! Loved this tour & tasting, and the couple that owns it is amazing! Tour is historical and educational and paired with samples throughout... we had such a blast and walked away with 6 new bottles of vodka, gin and whiskey. Don't shy away from some of the oddball flavors - they will surprise you!

Amazing!! Really enjoyed the tour! I didn't realize there was so much involved in making a great bottle of alcohol! The different flavors were amazing and very intuitive. Mixing flavors or creating flavors was very exciting to watch! Great team! Husband/wife combination as well as partnerships they have with thier closes friends son, created an amazing team dynamics!! We picked a few bottles of our favorite spirits and cant wait to share them with family and friends during the holidays!! I recommend this tour to anybody looking to enhance thier knowledge in the alcohol making business or just a fun evening to enjoy with friends, in a group, or that perfect date night!! Satisfy your palate with the perfect blend of tantalizing flavors that will leave your tongue dancing and your head spinning for another ride..... until the next time my friends! I felt as though we were treated as part of thier family......I wish them much success!

Watercure is a locally owned distillery that uses locally harvested ingredients to craft small batches of vodka, rum, whiskey, gin, bourbon, and brandy. Their website lists 20 different spirts, so they get pretty creative in the distillery. Everything is made on site, and when I asked to take a look at the sparkling silver tanks where the magic happens, our host happily obliged. They sell Apple Spice Flavored Rum, Vodka Flavored with Cucumber and Mint, Vodka Flavored with Strawberry and Rhubarb, Corn Vodka, Apple Vodka, Wheat Vodka, Shiitake Mushroom Flavored Vodka, Connecticut Corn Whisky, Barreled Aged- CT Corn Whisky, Connecticut Wheat Bourbon Whisky, Barreled Aged Gin, Gin, Rum, Brandy, McIntosh Apple Brandy, 1686 American Bourbon Whisky, Wolf Den Rye Whisky, 1701 Single Malt Whisky, Connecticut Bourbon Whisky, and Connecticut Barley Bourbon Whisky. Pretty impressive, eh? You can get a flight of four samples, or a mixed drink at their bar while you enjoy the super chill atmosphere in an old barn. We had a $14.99 flight of Cucumber and Mint Flavored Vodka, Apple Vodka, Apple Rum, and Strawberry Rhubarb Vodka (which we loved and was clearly our favored sample). As for my bourbon loving buddy, we picked up a 200 ml bottle of CT Wheat Bourbon ($59.99), and when we mentioned it was destined to be a birthday present, our host lovingly wrapped it in plastic and tied it with a pretty white bow! We had a wonderful experience out here in Pomfret Center, CT, and I bet you will too.

The Connecticut Bourbon was mildly complex with a rich brown sugar and vanilla profile and a deep oak finish. The wheat bourbon was amazingly smooth, and the Corn Whiskey, while not as complex, was solid and flavorful. The corn was my favorite!! My wife had a martini which was spot on and the mushroom vodka was killer!! The tasting room was very welcoming with a warm, wood atmosphere. They offer food, we had cheese and crackers which were priced very reasonably. We will definitely be going back for the amazing spirits and service!
