I came here over the weekend, on Sunday, just looking for a quick bite and to relax. I saw on the menu, before I arrived, they had cornbread and I was craving some. Outside, there was a band/dj combination playing 90's music from all genres, and a nice fun crown outside dancing. The weather was nice so I could sit inside and enjoy the music. I am not a big burger person but this place def topped the scales in a positive way! Their burger was amazing! The sweet potato fries were a little overdone (dark) but not burnt so I didn't have to return them. But the star of the show was their version of an espresso martini, but made with tequila. GAME CHANGER! SO SMOOOTH! I was disappointed they had run out of the cornbread. I am only in town for a few more days so I came back tonight for one last espresso and to see if they had cornbread, which they did. Huge portion, delicious flavor and honey butter adds another layer of deliciousness! Worth it. Laid back atmosphere tonight. Large space, lots of room, friendly staff both visits. Def worth a trip. First time here for an event and I had a great time. A band was playing and everyone was out there dancing and having a good time. They have indoor and outdoor seating, plenty of space for large group gatherings. I don't know the name of all the dishes I had. My favorite was chicken tenders. They were juicy and crunchy. They were gone in an instant . I'd have to order that when i visit again. Plenty of parking available. It looks like there's a cover charge after a certain hour if a band is playing. The ambiance and aesthetic are cute to grab a bite and a happy hour beverage. We were a party of 7, and the server took care of us right away. He was attentive to our needs and answered questions about the menu and the wines. They used to have a sparkling wine on tap that was delightful, but unfortunately, they no longer offer it. Since, I couldn't decide on a wine, he brought out two glasses for my friend and me to taste. We opted for the sangria. I do recommend it, and it's only $7 during Happy Hour. For food, I was between the salmon dish and the Ahi Tuna dish. My friend and I ordered one of each and split them. I give the Ahi Tuna dish a 10/10! It was so flavorful and it even have mini chunks of mango in it. They were generous with the actual tuna pieces and avocado. The salmon was good, but a bit dry for my liking. I do like how they prepared the sliced carrots, though. We also ordered fries and corn bread for the table. The fries were perfectly salted and super crunchy. The cornbread was warm and came with a side of creamy butter. It was a great piece of cornbread, and I am not even a cornbread girly. I had a great brunch experience so I'm updated my previous review. Service was really good. My daughter wanted pizza but the lunch menu didn't start for another 30 minutes. Our waiter said he would ask if the started prepping for lunch yet to do pizza and luckily they were ready and agreed. My husband and I still ordered brunch. The food was very good! It didn't take very long either. I liked the inside decor. Previously my party was outside so it was nice to look around and see the furnishings and flags up. I will return! Thank you!! read more

I attended a birthday celebration at Kimball's last night, and it was a vibe. Our server Christian was super cool, patient, and accommodating. We were treated with dignity and respect. It was also nice observing the teamwork and camaraderie among the staff. Additionally, the live band, Groove Theory, could have gone by the moniker Groove Therapy because they kept the spirit light and the dance floor poppin all night long. They played a lovely and diverse set list. I give Kimball's a ten out of ten for sure. Lastly, the drinks were tasty, too! read more

First time here perfectly located across from the hotel. It's a pretty large place with a patio area. Twee the bartender is very cool I had a burger It was good and kind of sweet and sticky. I've been here in the past for staff parties where they have preset buffet menu and a no host bar Let me tell you for those the spread is real. There's so many different salads and appetizers and entrées. It is absolutely exciting. Today I went for a staff happy hour. We are brought three different venues. One was a food menu. One was a cocktail menu and the Third was a happy hour menu. It was a little overwhelming to have to figure out what I wanted. I settled on a Carne Asada quesadilla. It was large and it was quite tasty. I wish I had asked him if they had different salsa because the salsa had no flavor to it. The cocktail menu was very streamlined, but all the cocktails had a house liquor in it, and I didn't want to get up and see what they be had behind the bar so I stuck with soda water Inside there's a long bar and ample seating. It's been about two years since we were last here. The primary reason we have not been back is because our last few experiences were pretty bad. Service was extremely slow and there was one server who was consistently rude. Today, we decided to give them a chance because we like the convenience of having a local small business to eat at and support that has great ambience and music. Our experience today was fantastic. Special shout out to Wilbur for making our experience a great one. He was very assertive to our needs and very attentive. He consistently checked on us to see if we needed anything and was quick to take our order, deliver our food and provide us with refills. His service definitely convinced us that we made the right decision to give Kimball Coastal another chance. Keep up the great work, Wilbur! Came here on a Tuesday evening during HH with no expectations. The ambiance and decor is very cute, reminds me of a mix of a bar/modern restaurant/brewery. The music was on point. We ordered the HH pretzel bites, wings, and sliders/fries and everything was delicious. The portions were fair and the flavor of the chili honey garlic wings were so unique. First time in this restaurant. Went to lunch with friends. Parking was easy and location is near the freeway. Not too many people at lunch. There is a nice patio area at the back. We dined inside. Our waitress was very good and took care of us. Food was pretty good. Mine was the burger which I enjoyed and my friends said they liked the enchilada. I stopped in here when I was visiting the area hoping to get some good fish and chips. Sadly, when I arrived I found this is no longer a "coastal" eatery and they don't serve seafood items any longer. It is now a "bar and eatery" with more typical pub style food. It seems like a missed opportunity that such a beautiful restaurant near the California coast wouldn't serve some excellent local seafood. The restaurant is bright, open, and airy, so it's great for a casual meal. I sat at the bar and the guy working behind the bar was very friendly. The place as a modest draft beer selection and I tried a local brew that was good. I ended up getting a burger and fries. The burger was very good, but I thought the fries were next level. Only thing missing was some malt vinegar for the potatoes. I also had the crustless cheesecake for dessert and it was yummy! Overall, this place is really enjoyable, but I was disappointed they no longer have seafood items beyond the basic salmon dish. LOVE the happy hour menu. You can't beat 5$ Margaritas and chicken strips. I've gone a few time during the week and between 3-7 it typically isn't busy so we can go in and out in as quick of a time as we want. Monte Cristo Sandwich- The french toast was way too eggy for my liking. Almost dismissing the sweet and savory combo that I was looking for. Accompanied with breakfast potatoes which were not seasoned to my liking. 6/10 Chorizo Breakfast Burrito- Burrito was a tad bit more on the greasier side. 7/10 Churro French Toast- Insanely sugary I wanted to like this so bad, but it was encrusted in a sugar coating then drizzled with a caramel sauce. I recently visited Kimbell, a bayside restaurant with a beautiful water view. The Kimball Boss Burger I had was outstanding juicy, flavorful, and well prepared. The setting, right by the water, is relaxing and scenic, making it a great place to unwind. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by the service; the server had noticeable hygiene issues and didn't present himself in a way that aligns with a professional front of house standard. For a restaurant of this caliber, I do think they need to be more diligent about staff hygiene, since that's a big part of the overall experience. This place is an F-N dump. It doesn't know if it wants to be a sports bar or a restaurant. I'd go with sports bar because the food sucks. The only redeeming item on my breakfast plate was the bacon. The potatoes were frozen- fried- then some undercooked onions & peppers were added. The eggs tasted old. Toast is 1 piece of bread cut in half. And while the French toast is nice to look at, it's dry. The fish was frozen and the vegetables were undercooked as well. The waitress kept calling us "guys", which I absolutely cannot stand, when we were clearly two women. And then they stand there with the little machine which always makes me feel pressured. Stopped here for drinkings and it was good. 10 ish different beers on tap and TVs all around to watch the game. I also stopped in for breakfast and got the omlette. I decided to opt out of the potatoes for fruits and skip the bread. The omlette was stacked with meats and veggies and I was definitely satisfied by it. Ambiance was nice, airy, and clean. Giving them 5 stars because their staff are 5 star worthy! Shoutout to our server Ruben. We went Friday night around 8pm and struggled for parking (large parking lot but it was packed being Friday night) we ended up finding a spot behind the hotel. Everyone from the host to the bus boy were extremely friendly and kind and helpful. The food was great the only thing I didn't like was the coleslaw that comes with the ribs- too much mustard or honey mustard for my liking but my husband said he loved it. The margarita was not all that great - I wish I would have ordered something else (old town has some great spicy mango chamoy margaritas). It was such a vibe! They had live band outside and everyone was happy and having a great time even the people inside dining enjoyed hearing the band play and watching everyone dance. The decor of the place is really nice too. It was more of an older crowd but I still recommend the place I think we will bring my father in law next time since there was a lot of people his age. read more

Stop by for a bite to eat and decided to order the ahi tuna bowl, which was delicious! I like that it had fruit and sliced tomatoes as well as very tender and fresh ahi cubes. Also really like the dressing on it. I also decided to order a side order of fries to have something warm with the salad and I'm so glad I did. They have the most unique fries I've ever seen any place, and I've been eating fries for over 50 years now. Have been a few times and the food was good. Went this week and we had an excellent dinner. There were four of us and we sat in the patio. I had a salad and friends had Cali burger, smash burger, pulled pork sandwich. My salad was an ahi tuna bowl that was excellent. Everyone raved about their meal. Everyone that served us was exceptional!! The manager came out and checked on us and was super nice. We asked about the place next door, Sessions. Turns out it is a dispensary/lounge/restaurant. The four of us stopped here after a couple hours of rowing practice on the water...so we were REALLY hungry! We were seated outside right away, but it took a while for the server to acknowledge us. When he did, we ordered coffee and all our food right away! It then took about 20 minutes for us to get our coffee and another 15 minutes to get our food. Despite the wait, the food was pretty good! We shared an order of French Toast, the others ordered Chilaquiles and Omelets, and I ordered the Breakfast Burrito. All was good, except that the toast that came with the omelet was questionable. I have to say that the place seemed rather understaffed, which is probably why it took so long to get served and get the order. The food was good, but we probably won't go out of our way to come back. I don't recommend coming to this place: there is probably a better place to serve you. read more

My kids were a little disappointed in their options-the restaurant had marinara pasta on the menu but didn't actually offer it. They made up for it by offering macaroni noodles with butter, which was served lukewarm warm. Drinks were good but a little overpriced. Service was great though. Our server was very attentive making sure we had all we needed and checking in regularly despite being busy. Felt like the ribs could have been reheated. Lastly, Mai tai... Absolutely delicious. The person who makes the drinks are on point. The glass cup it came in was pretty cool. We all enjoyed this amazing Resturant Kimball our 1st. Time here very welcoming it wasn't real busy which was nice. The drinks came on happy hour and then the food arrived shrimp fajitas was hot and delicious too! The rice bowl it was so big she need to take home the leftovers very great fish delicate and seasoned perfect. It wasn't dry very tasty with good flavor also. My Asian Salad was good!! I have it again I also had 2 tacos A carnitas & carne asada both were excellent all the right flavors happened I enjoy them The decor here open and airy with beach theme and the plants give a homey feel.
