I was extremely pleased and happy with my experience when I acquired my auto loan 4 years ago. Since then, not one time have I missed a payment or been late. Was laid off 7 months go and today I made the humbling decision to inquire on a skip a pay option. Aside from having a perfect payment history I was declined due to my FICO score being under the threshold and nothing could be done beyond that, It was communicated that paying late would be a path, which would effect my credit score. I decided to drive to the Downey Branch where there were 2 employees with no customers sitting there. They told me that they never received any messages and they couldn't help me with removing them as lien holders from my vehicles title. USELESS. read more

We have been with FPCU for about ten years, as of recently they have fallen badly. You cannot get an actual employee to answer questions. They messed up an auto pay that we had set up with them that worked fine for the last 2 years until this month. We want an answer to what happened but they won't respond. They should be called Scam Credit Union. Thank goodness I had so many problems just trying to open an account that I didn't. I can't believe they are actually a legitimate business. I tried to open an account online. I got all the way through the info, and the last page kept giving me an error message. It said I needed to update my browser, which I did. Still no luck. I tried different browsers, used my phone, and called customer service, who told me there were no problems reported with their system. She had to have another department call me back, and they said there is a system issue that has lasted a long time and won't be fixed because it's not a problem for everyone (I won't say how long it took me to go round and round to get all this). While talking to this guy, there were long pauses like he was doing something else at the same time and not answering. He eventually sent me a text with the paper form to open an account (even though he could see I had already entered all the info online multiple times). I couldn't do anything with the form or the link, like forwarding it to my email. By then, I was an hour into this madness and had to take my dog out. I asked him to just email me the link. He told me he couldn't email the form because it wasn't secure--it's a BLANK form. Turns out, it's a form on their website that's publicly accessible. Further, I have an address that often appears as a business address even though it's not, so I had also called to make sure there were no issues with that. He was going to check on that and call me the next day. He did actually call me at our scheduled time and asked if I had filled out the application. Well, no, because you were checking on the address issue, so it made no sense to keep going, as we discussed (and it would take no significant time for me to do it). He had told me the previous day that he would set up a video call verification appointment for me, where I would upload the paper application to a secure location during the call. Today, he said I could email it. I asked if it was a secured process because I don't have email encryption and why it was different than what he told me the day before. Then, he went on this long tangent about how I was wasting his time and told me I was lucky he was even calling me back. There is something very wrong with this place. I wouldn't be surprised if these people sell your private information. I've wasted 2 hours of my life on this for nothing. Save yourself. read more

I was very happy to open a 7 month CD in Downey. It is true that the $5,000 CD cost $5,100 because I was required to open both a checking account and a savings account ($25 & $25). The banker, Efre Figueroa, was very nice and reassured me that there would be no account maintenance fees and absolutely no account termination fees when in 7 months later, at the CD at maturity, I withdraw all my money. I was very happy, until a few hours later, my phone started to alarm me and I received a series of alarming emails that my credit score had dropped. Efre forgot to mention that even though I don't take out a loan from them and I will never ask for a loan from them, my credit score will definitely be lowered by 4 points, only, because I invest in their bank. I'm so disappointed!!!! Now, I'm even not sure that I will get back my money in 7 months later. DO NOT INVEST IN FINANCIAL PARTNERS CREDIT UNION, even if they offer good APY. read more

I had been banking with them for over 20 years. Believe it or not, they used to be a very good credit union. But now they can't process an incoming wire transfer (that I'd been doing for years), won't let me know that it is rejected, and give me different reasons for the rejection when calling them. Frustrated beyond belief, I risk bouncing payments made, and am looking to bank elsewhere. UPDATE: Appreciate that the credit union reached out to me after the original one-star review. I continued to submit wire transfer until it went through. Still disappointed that credit union couldn't process (twice) a simple incoming wire that we had been making for years. read more

I applied for a loan which I am qualified for. Diana (employee) put the wrong reason on my application without verifying with me what she was putting on my application. I was told I was denied because of the reason she wrote on my application. I escalated this and spoke to a manager to have it re-submitted. It was again denied due to the original reason wrote on my application. I escalated the negligence of the employee, Diana, for incorrectly putting down a reason on my application that I did not agree to. They are doing nothing to reprimand the employee and do not see anything wrong with this. The "manager" told me he wouldn't do anything. Horrible customer service and experience all around. I was unable to get my New Debit/ATM Card activated by phone on Saturday, the recording said I needed to contact my Branch for assistance. I placed a call at 8:45am, left my number and got a call back from Rachel. After Rachel asked me 5 different Security questions, she placed me on hold, then came back online and said she wasn't able to help me, to "call back on Monday". I asked if I was speaking with a Financial Partners employee or a 3rd party phone center, she said she was Financial Partners and she was assisting Financial Partners with calls. Ten plus minutes wasted with Rachel. I waited till after 9 am, called 800 950-7328 again, spoke with Jacqueline who was able to quickly assist me with getting my card working. Im very disappointed at this credit union. Exactly a year ago today i got a car loan. Last month i went to the DMV to pay for my tags, i was told that my car was not registered under my name and it was still under the previous owners name. Apparently, the bank did not register the Vehicle under my name and they are not legally the lien holder. I contacted the bank and someone called me back and said they would work on this matter. Its been over a month now and i still have not heard back. I called last week and asked to speak with a manager, and i still have not received a call back. read more

Careful signing up with this people they will overcharge your account with any excuse plus I'll be a huge amount...that's a scam Pick someone else Even if you have insurance they ll add a full coverage on their own but if you want to filed a claim theyll reply is not an insurance that ll be to satisfy the loan.. I have been hunting for a credit union since June 2017. I originally applied to Southland in July 2017, however my account wasnt finalized until August 2017. Im not sure why the process took a month. Once my account was open, i immediately applied for an autoloan. Southland only contacted 2 times from the point my loan was approved in Aug 2017 and until the loan offer expired in Sept 2017. I said enough is enough and found Financial Partners. I walked into Financial Partners on Sept 23rd at 11am, and by 1pm I had my account open and my auto loan was preapproved. Walter Escobar and Monica Miranda were incredibly helpful and made the account opening and autoloan procress EASY AS PIE. I love love love Walter. I paid off my car loan. They have now added another $1000 to my balance for no reason and continue to take the money out of my bank account. This is illegal and they should be held liable. Financial partners credit union are crooks and thieves. They still haven't sent me the title to my car either. Do not do business with them. I applied for a loan online. They responded back to me the next day and said I was approved! The loan was for $15,000 to pay off some dental expenses. I was so surprised that they got back to me the very next day The lady I spoke with on the phone was so nice and cordial that we laughed the whole time through the conversation! I didn't think my credit was that good after the problems I've had in the past with my credit. I am very happy with my experience at financial partners! HORRIBLE! I have been with FPCU since 1991 and I'm about to give up. They keep charging me a fee because they can't figure out how to stop the fee since I moved. Every month I have to contact them to take it away. Each time they tell me it's resolved, you should not have it again.
