On a chilly morning we decided to bundle up and hang out here again with our dog babies. Somehow this tiny neighborhood cafe has such a relaxing and homey vibes that makes us come back again and again. He always gets his breakfast burrito and I always get my favorite pastry here. Not sure what they call it but it's delicious, nutty inside and tons of flaxseeds on the top. They will wam it up for you. Nice warm and crispy. There are only two tables outside. We always sit there with our dogs. They have plenty of room sitting down and just chill. People are so nice and warm here. Great service. read more

Was in the area for a haircut (shout out to Minh's Hair Style a block down). Wanted to grab a bite to eat beforehand. Saw Fina's Cafe was open so thought I'd give it a try. Ordered a drip coffee and a chorizo breakfast burrito. And man, that breakfast burrito was seriously delicious. Piping hot, super fluffy potatoes (without feeling par-boiled if you know what I mean), chorizo with nice texture & flavor, fluffy scrambled eggs with softness and body (aka neither runny nor rubbery), and that tortilla! My goodness, that tortilla. It kept it all together without feeling too mushy and doughey, or on the other end, too brittle and crackling apart. It also seemed kinda butter-softened without feeling drenched or sopping in it. I'm telling you, something about that tortilla was on point, and it housed it all together, making the sum greater than its parts. You might be thinking, "It's just potatoes, egg, breakfast meat in a carbo-home. What's the big deal?" But go to CostCo or what not, get the same ingredients, and try to get to this place on your own. Try it! You might get 80% there if you're just a laymen like me who hopes to arrive at this very place haphazardly. But that other 20%? Yeah, Fina's knows what's up. read more

Hey, if you're in need of a low-key place to hang in San Carlos, this would be a good spot because it's open and really quiet in here. Frankly, if you're in San Carlos to begin with, you're probably as low-key as this place. Match made in caffeine heaven, right? I have to admit I came in here after devouring a large salad at The Toss down the block (review: http://bit.ly/2DA3kPA). So I was feeling full but rather low-key since all I had was a salad and no, it wasn't a taco salad. There were only two customers in here sometime after the lunch hour, but that didn't dampen the gregarious personality of the barista who shared the details of his upcoming vacation plans. First timer here and let me tell you this was the best bagel I've had in a million years! The seating area was extremely comfortable.

This is a fine place for a good cup of coffee. I would not recommend the food here. We came here for a low-key brunch, which was fine, but everything was pretty under-seasoned, and generally left a lot to be desired. Its very quiet, so if you're just in the neighborhood for some coffee and to chat, this is a great place to hang out. read more

This is a small cafe on a quiet street in San Carlos. It only seats like 10 people max or something. The guy at the counter was really talkative and was talking to my friend the entire time he was making the food. The cheese danish here was actually quite tasty. Excellent coffee, friendly service! Also a nice variety of tea selections. Coffee drinks range from house drip coffee to espresso and latte type drinks. Food choices include bagels, baked goods, breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos. The sausage in the breakfast burrito is very meaty and good quality. Very welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. Clearly this place has loyal regular customers. Just know that because this is a small shop, they pre-make the burritos and microwave them so the tortilla gets a bit rubbery as it cools down. A cute little coffee shop to come and get some work done. If you check in, you get a free coffee which I definitely took advantage of. The barista was super friendly and made a point to make conversation with everyone that walked through the doors. Their breakfast burritos were pretty tasty and were big enough for two people to share. Bathroom is kind of a pain to get to, you have to walk behind the counter into the employee area which feels awkward, but not a big deal. Re-visited after not having a chance to stop by for a year. This same nicest and friendliest barista is still there. He is super-warm and welcoming. Coffee is good, relaxing and quiet atmosphere is good, everything is good. You can't find at Starbucks or Peet's a barista like him who cares so much about customers needs and preferences. Walking away from the new Mints and Honey Café with a mocha that did not have any chocolate taste at all (even asking for more chocolate, twice), I poured out that mocha and went over to Fina's Café. I love this place. I always get a breakfast sandwich on a croissant with bacon or a chorizo breakfast burrito. The owner is nice and the young man who works there is always full of energy and he makes my whole day sometimes. The coffee is good and they have a selection of juice and things. I come here for breakfast, but they have regular sandwiches too, for lunchtime. If you have been trying to shop more local and small business in the area, try Fina's. read more

The shop is really accessible, parking is easy, and the staff is super friendly. The Barista has an obvious passion for what he does, and I learn something interesting from him about coffee every time I'm there. My favorite is the poured coffee (not to be confused with the drip!), which for some reason unbeknownst to me tastes so much better than coffee I've had elsewhere. I also like the calm and low key ambience of the shop, which is very different than the cattle-call vibe you get at the bigger coffee franchises down the street. I love that this business is locally owned by a young family, as it gives me warm fuzzies to stop in. I work nearby and love to come get a drink here. The prices are very good for the size drinks offered. The gal running the place is always very kind and sincere. Often times you will see her beautiful family hanging out or even helping. The reviewer Molly that complained about them being out of things must not understand the business. It is really hard to compete with Starbucks and other places. In order to have the freshest selection and minimize losses these people probably only have a small amount on hand. When it sells out that's it. I'm sure they'll order more unless your nasty review puts them out of business. Now if they ran out of coffee that'd be another thing!!! I've been here three times now, and have dealt with two different ladies behind the counter and they both were extremely friendly and helpful. I've gotten the french pour over coffee each time and it's been very good. They happily provide steamed milk upon request, which is the difference maker. My only gripe is the Wi-Fi has been intermittent lately, but they were upfront about that before I made my order which is much appreciated. Nice, tucked away local spot.
