Hey, if you're in need of a low-key place to hang in San Carlos, this would be a good spot because it's open and really quiet in here. Frankly, if you're in San Carlos to begin with, you're probably as low-key as this place. Match made in caffeine heaven, right? I have to admit I came in here after devouring a large salad at The Toss down the block (review: http://bit.ly/2DA3kPA). So I was feeling full but rather low-key since all I had was a salad and no, it wasn't a taco salad. There were only two customers in here sometime after the lunch hour, but that didn't dampen the gregarious personality of the barista who shared the details of his upcoming vacation plans. I think I just said, "How's it goin'?" and ordered a $3 Medium House Coffee (photo: http://bit.ly/2y1LsHp). It was fine. COFFEE - 3 stars...satisfying enough AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...did I mention its low-key? SERVICE - 3.5 stars...quite a social guy TOTAL - 3 stars...a chill spot in San Carlos RELATED - Need another cup of joe down the peninsula? Here's a list of place I've tried and reviewed: http://bit.ly/2DHtXSO

Such a great breakfast burrito. I get it with bacon and add avocado. Yum. The lady that works there is so nice. Such a cute little place.

A super thoughtful crew who know how to make a really good tea and I'm sure coffee as well.! As summer approaches, longer days, I believe they will find it will be necessary to implement some structure around the seating Because, we found there are campers on a Friday evening, there were two young women not together and each taking a large table. ,8pm with their laptops open and only a beverage , there was a line of people people searching for tables I would suggest or some sort of signage that they could share a table, not necessarily sit on top of each other, but on opposite sides with an empty seat in front of them, two (strangers) people at one table with two or four chairs. It's not uncommon practice. In cafés. What was happening was that groups of four were having to share tables for two squishing in, I just thought it was a little thoughtless of those two customers to keep their heads down, and they knew precisely what was going on around them, people were giving up tables and shifting around, and neither of them moved or offered to share. There's a polite way to manage those kinds of situations. Or signage on tables. I saw a group of four guys walk out because there was nowhere to sit that would've been a substantial tab There's a way to make people mindful of that included there were other locations for these two individual people to move. Since their heads were in their laptops, sitting across from a stranger, would've been like being at the library anyhow where we do share tables. I noticed there was a seat on the sofa side, or they could've shared a table It would have left two large tables available for people who were in line, groups of people who were in line Something to think about to the owners of Sana! I could see the frustration in the faces of the people waiting.

Decor is cute but sleek, vibes are calm, bar seating by window and a few small tables with seats. Ordering is fast at the kiosk front desk which doesn't seem to have a cashier. Lots of tasty drink options with milk choices and customizable sweetness and ice level - much appreciated! Cakes were delicious and filled with freshly whipped cream. We had the hojicha and biscoff ones. Not incredibly busy - a lot of orders were takeout. Cons: A lot of things were out of stock by 1pm but maybe this is due to Mother's Day. Pricey but the items were high quality. Store is a small footprint with limited utilities (no WiFi, bathroom was temporarily out of order). Parking is very difficult- it's on el Camino so the cars are unforgiving if you're trying to parallel park, and the road parallel by a block is not much better. It has an alley and a very cramped space in the back for a lot. Expect to walk.

My only recommendation would be that you use less chemicals and Lysol in your cleaning throughout the day. We all love a place that's definitely sanitized and clean and safe to eat at, but I also want to walk in a place like this and smell chocolate and cinnamon, coffee and smell yummy food. Only thing, The first scent when you open the door is cleaning solution. There's a lot of like a Lysol type smell and it's really overwhelming throughout the place.
