A great non-upscale place in Menlo Park for a weekend breakfast. The parking lot is a little small but plenty of tables inside. Very friendly service here. Had the Bacon Scramble, the Jason's crepe, the Country skillet, and the Southern Scramble. All the food was great! The savory crepe was a standout. I had the Bacon Scramble, which had mushrooms and spinach (my weakness). It gets loud in here with so sound absorbing fabrics.

Nice little local breakfast cafe. Small parking lot with street parking around and decent size indoor space. I got the Jason skillet w/ sourdough and it was tasty, potatoes were seasoned which was a plus. Sausage , bacon and ham were cooked well. I wish the cheese would have melted rather looked like just put on the plate but overall still a decent breakfast dish. Staff were super friendly and nice.

Good breakfast to get your day started! Parking lot is kinda small but that was the only issue. Everything else very good the service and people inside were very nice! The warm decor made it nice place to sit and eat with your family. Good old fashioned cooking. I had the El Paso Benedict it had corn beef hash and was amazing with my hash browns well done by the way I love the crispy lol. Wifey ordered California Benedict which was also a very good choice. If you find yourself in this part of Menlo Park you can't go wrong with Jason's.

I'm rounding up because we love this place - very reasonably priced, unpretentious and kid friendly breakfast / lunch option in Menlo Park. I appreciate the cozy, bustling ambiance and usually go with one of their breakfast or pasta options. They have a huge menu averaging $15-20 per adult entree, $10 for kids - portions are very generous. My favorite pasta thus far has been the prawn and sundried tomato, my husband enjoys the kung Pao linguine (I know it sounds bad but my mom also enjoys this!) Definitely recommend if you're looking for a no frills option nearby. Their parking lot is pretty small - would recommend parking in the Springline lot next door, first two hours free!

Continue to love this place! The food is still delicious and never a complaint! This time I ordered the protein scramble and the Jason's omelet with fruits and it really just hits the spot. Not too complicated or too much going on. It was made so simple, just the way I wanted! Great service all around, great ambiance, and plenty of parking.

Our favorite breakfast/brunch place! Great food, great service, great place! We come here almost every weekend now. My family loves the location, the people there are super nice and efficient and the food is real!

My husband found this place randomly and it was surprisingly so delicious - such a hidden breakfast spot! I ordered the harbor omelette: filled with crab meat, cheese, spinach and topped with hollandaise sauce. I have never had anything like this and it blew my socks off. I love Hollandaise but wasn't feeling a Benedict ... I didn't know the sauce on an omelette filled with crab would be so delicious. And they are very generous with their crab meat portions! The hash-browns are also the classic diner style - super crispy and delicious.

This place is right off El Camino Real. We drive by it a lot and have been meaning to try it. They have their own parking lot which is nice. Staff was very friendly. We walked in and we're able to sit anywhere. Our waitress was always checking on us to make sure everything was good. There's plenty of tables inside. We ordered the chorizo scramble and the apple waffle combo. The hash browns were nice and crispy. I love when they get that griddle crunch. Chorizo scramble was perfectly seasoned. It came with avocado, salsa, and sour cream. The apple waffle was a nice sweet addition to the meal. It's nice the whipped cream and syrup came on the side. The apples were enough sweetness for the waffle but I like the option of dunking it in some whipped cream or syrup to make it a little sweeter. There's a good amount of variety on the menu. It took us awhile to figure out what we wanted to order. Will definitely come back to try some other dishes.

    Southern Scramble

Simple diner with large menu. Friendly and quick service. Came to Jason's Cate with a large party on a Monday afternoon, there were plenty of tables available and we were seated right away! Everything on the menu sounded delicious, but I went with the Southern Scramble. HIGHLY recommend this scramble if you're craving biscuits and gravy. Hash browns were crispy and golden brown. Only downside is small parking lot.

Mid week brunch meant a quieter atmosphere and open seating. After perusing the menu we ordered at the counter before sitting at a table after picking up utensils and water. We ordered Fambrini's Breakfast, Brie & Mushroom Omelette, Crab Omelette, and shares the Lotus Biscoff Pancakes. Everyone loved their egg platters. The eggs were perfectly light and fluffy. I generally avoid omelettes getting scrambles instead because restaurants tend to overcook the eggs. Our dishes were prepared with quality and flavor in mind. I personally had the crab omelette and left no crumbs behind. The potatoes were well seasoned and wish I had enough room in my tummy to finish them off! The drip coffee was bold and delicious not watered down at all! Finally, we shared the 2 stack biscoff pancakes for a sweet finish. The pancakes were bouncy with biscoff sauce and a mound of whipped cream. This was mouth wateringly delicious. I don't have much of a sweet tooth but this was so yummy. This isn't a traditional sit down service but counter staff were friendly and efficient. There is a small parking lot off to the side and there is indoor and patio seating. Our Food: We ordered the french toast and Biscoff Pancakes as our sweets. Both were fluffy and perfectly sweet. We also ordered the Monte Cristo and Chicken Pesto Sandwich. The Monte Cristo was okay, but the Chicken Pesto outshined it. The ciabatta bread is housemade and you can tell! Its perfectly soft and pairs super well with the garlic aoili and pesto sauce. The dalgona coffee looks amazing but is only okay, I'd maybe try something else. It is definitely Cafe style, where you order and pay at the counter first. They usually help you find seating (which is all outdoors) and bring out the food. From there everything is self-serve, whether that's for utensils or simply getting water. The food is delivered very quickly, but not super hot. Overall, I think its good food, and worth the visit if you're in the area.

While I never…read moremet the man, he has incredible taste, because Sweet Maple has the best breakfast food I've ever had in the bay area. Well worth the trip. The two of us were dubious about the Millionaire's Bacon, because it was hyped up to the point where it seemed unlikely that it could live up to the reputation. We were wrong. We ordered the Millionaire's Bacon sampler platter, which is four strips of long, thick pieces of bacon, baked with brown sugar and spices. There is the original, which is brown sugar, cayenne, red, and black pepper, which was sweet, salty, and the perfect amount of spicy. The other slices were orange, cinnamon, and rosemary. My partner enjoyed the orange best, whereas I loved the cinnamon, but we both thought the rosemary was underwhelming. The bacon itself was very thick and meaty with a minimal amount of fat, and was just clearly high quality pork. Truly worth the hype. We also got the bottomless mimosas, which not only had multiple choices of juice (we got raspberry lemonade) but were surprisingly heavy on the champagne. The waiter kept them coming without us needing to ask, to the point where I had to tell him I was done because I was a little too tipsy for breakfast. My partner got the chicken croffle, and was very impressed. I tried the fried chicken (though not the croffle) and it was very well spiced, very crunchy, and well cooked--juicy and tender. I got the big hip, which is deep fried "french toast". I wouldn't call it french toast myself, but it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and came with fresh fruit, butter, and syrup. There wasn't enough syrup for the entire dish, but I asked our waiter for more and he came back with it in less than a minute. On top of the food being as close to perfect as you can get, the service was great. Several different waiters checked in on us throughout the meal, making sure we were enjoying the food and that we didn't need anything else. The vibes of the restaurant are really enjoyable too. The décor is lovely, the sound levels are very reasonable, and everything was spotless during our visit. Overall, I can't recommend Sweet Maple enough, and I'm kind of glad it's not closer to my house because I would go bankrupt with the amount of Millionaire's Bacon I'd buy on a weekly basis.

There will be plenty of foot traffic going in and out of the restaurant. My dining companion and I settled in at the counter since the weather was a bit brisk today. Joanie's has been around long enough to wear its old-school vibe with confidence. The service is just fine. Nothing to complain about and nothing to tell write home about. It's a small enough place you are able to flag someone down if you needed something. We both ordered the "Joanie's Breakfast Medley" which includes French toast or two pancakes, two eggs any style, home fries, and your choice of protein (bacon, sausage, corned beef hash, chicken-apple sausage, or ham) for $25.95. We added two coffees, because we are functioning adults who require caffeine to make decisions. The food was fine, it was what a Sunday breakfast should be. I had a bit of a sticker shock when I asked for the bill and saw that it was OVER $75 for two people at breakfast, with tax and tip. I sat there doing the math in my head the way you do when you're hoping the numbers will somehow rearrange themselves into something more palatable. They did not. Now, to be fair, I am fully aware that the cost of ingredients and labor has gone up across the board. I was just operating on an optimistic budget of maybe $60 which I now realize is one of those "back in my day" comments to bore the Gen Zs to tears. If you want a recommendation for something sweet, go straight for the Cherries, Berries and Mascarpone French Toast. The eggs benedict is a reliable choice too, if you're feeling classic. The restaurant is easy to get to as it is located at the corner of California and Ash Street, and there's a large parking structure right next door. Would I go back? Probably, yes. But I will be prepared so that the wallet shock doesn't catch me off guard again.

Mom recommended RH, THE ROOFTOP RESTAURANT at RH PALO ALTO. She called the restaurant and was able to book a 10 AM reservation for three. Located at the Stanford Shopping Center, we were able to easily and quickly find parking in the spacious lot. We arrived a little early, so walked around the Restoration Hardware showroom for a bit before walking up the stairs to the upscale restaurant perched on the third floor. The mansard space, with its floor to ceiling glass walls and roof, emulates a giant dazzling sunroom with trees growing out of the floor and elegant glass chandeliers hanging above nearly every table. The modern fountain and airy ambiance provide a relaxing setting for a nice meal while soaking in the glam surroundings and sunshine or admiring the beautiful sunsets. Outdoor seating is also available in their wraparound patio with comfy couches. RH PALO ALTO offers elevated American eats, plus beer, wine, and cocktails. The menu leans into opulent, fancified takes on classics, serving decadent dishes like CAVIAR CARPACCIOS (ranging from $18 to $28) and other CAVIAR SPECIALTIES such as GRILLED AVOCADO WITH CAVIAR ($38) and IMPOSSIBLY THIN HOUSEMADE CHIPS & DIP (15g $55, 30g $95). Below are what we ordered: LOBSTER ROLL ($36) - Z found this to be very good, I thought it was meh. The lobster could have used a bigger Dash of Mayo. On the small side. SWEDISH PANCAKES ($18) with fresh strawberries (for an extra charge) - I was disappointed that these pancakes were not served with the traditional lingonberry butter. These were not even warm enough to melt the slices of butter that topped them. KING CRAB ROLL ($58) - Also a petite serving, but this sandwich was tastier than the lobster version. Z said that it was very good, just like the lobster. HERITAGE PORK SAUSAGE ($12) - Flavourful; however, served cold. TRUFFLE FRIES ($20) - Fried to a perfectly golden crisp. RH BELLINI ($18) - Kudos to RH for serving an authentic bellini with genuine peach purée. This cocktail was yummy. Supposedly the BELGIAN WAFFLE was so remarkable to draw Mom back multiple times. Unfortunately, we were told that that they were no longer serving waffles. Mom was very disappointed by this. To boot, service was nothing to rave about. It seemed to be a bit challenging to catch the attention of our waitress to inform her that all of our dishes were served cold. When we finally got the chance to tell her, she didn't say much and appeared to leave us hanging. Later, the manager on duty came to speak with us, replaced most of the cold dishes, and comped an item. Still, this did not remedy Mom's dismay. She said that she will not return.
