Dianne is an absolute DREAM!!! I love everything about her but mostly her love for the animals! Her main priority, it seems, is to make sure the dog and parents are in full understanding of each other so they have a successful and long lasting relationship. I'm so grateful for Dianne and I know my doggy feels the same way!

It was obvious from every photo that Charlie was living his best life!! We came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup and a house that was just as we left it. It was also such a lovely surprise to come home to the beautiful flowers Kenna left for us--that thoughtful gesture really went above and beyond! We couldn't have asked for a better sitter and would absolutely book Kenna again. Highly recommend!!

Lisa and the staff, especially Victoria were awesome and provided me with the peace of mind I needed because my two Golden Retrievers are my everything. Lisa assigned Victoria and there are not enough words to describe how terrific she was with my two puppies. Victoria cared for them, played with them, watched as they swam numerous times daily, dried them, fed them and went to the market to get them their fruit snacks. She totally followed the detailed schedule I had provided and Victoria sent me multiple daily updates, along with pictures of my two puppies. In addition, to caring for my Goldens, Victoria cared for my home as if it was hers, with great care and respect. Victoria is just one of many awesome pet sitters that Lisa has in her business and if you need these types of pet sitting services than Pick of the Litter is the TRUE PICK!!! Thank you Lisa and Victoria, Morgan and Cheyenne send you lots of Puppy licks and give you both a 10 Paw Rating.

I chose The Barking Dog based on its strong online reviews, but unfortunately my experience was…read moreextremely disappointing. This was my first time ever boarding my dogs, and I only scheduled this stay because I had an unexpected family death. Naturally, I was already stressed, and this experience made things worse. When I dropped my dogs off, the front desk employee was working alone. While I understand being busy, the entire check-in process was very disorganized and frustrating. After taking my dogs to the back, she spent time inventorying my items, answering calls, and helping other customers--without once acknowledging me or letting me know I was free to go. I stood there for about 15-20 minutes with no communication, only to eventually be told she didn't need anything else from me. During my dogs' two-night stay, I received zero updates--no messages, photos, or report cards, despite those being features listed in their system. As a first-time boarding experience, this was especially concerning and left me wondering how my dogs were doing the entire time. Pickup was just as disappointing. While bringing my dogs out, one of them got her foot stuck in the doorway and was yelping in pain, and the employee continued pulling her on the leash instead of stopping to help. I was handed my dogs quickly with no update on how they did during their stay. The dogs also smelled so bad when we got them, I had to immediately bathe them when I got home. Overall, the lack of communication, attentiveness, and basic care was very upsetting--especially given the circumstances that led me to need their services in the first place. I had another boarding appointment already scheduled for April which I canceled and will not be returning or recommending this facility.

Zero stars. If you want your dog to come home sick every time he stays at the Barking Dog and leave…read moreyou with hundreds to thousands of dollars in vet bills, this is the place to go. I was a loyal customer for 10 years, but ever since the facility was taken over by the current owner, Mitch, a few years ago, it has completely gone downhill. It started with my dog developing strange rashes after boarding stays that required medication to clear up. Then he contracted kennel cough. When I picked him up, he was obviously sick, yet no one contacted me to let me know there had been an issue or warned other customers after I reported it. The final straw was after a 9-day stay when I picked him up and immediately knew something was wrong. Again, nobody informed me he appeared ill. He stopped eating, then stopped drinking, and after multiple vet and emergency visits, he was diagnosed with valley fever. I reached out to Mitch, explained the repeated illnesses connected to boarding stays, and provided medical records documenting everything. His response was that he would do nothing unless I met with him in person -- not even refund the boarding stay. I agreed to meet and followed up multiple times, but after requesting all the records, he completely stopped responding. The lack of accountability, concern, and basic customer service is unbelievable. This owner only cares about money, not the wellbeing of the dogs in his care. After 10 years as a customer, I am beyond disappointed and disgusted by how this was handled. If you want your dog repeatedly exposed to illness, and for management to ignore you afterward, this is the place.

We can hardly get his leash off, he's so eager to see friends. We love the live cameras in the yard and inside the hound lounge. It's so nice to be able to check on our fur baby and see what he is up to! One of the main reasons we love Always Unleashed is not only the live cameras, but they are "always unleashed!" They don't kennel the dogs. They all hang out together outside and inside. All the dogs seem calm because they don't have the pent up anxiety of being in a kennel outside of their home. They aren't barking all the time and agitated. They are hanging together as a group. The outside has a ton of misters and a large pool for the pups. They have lots of room to play. Our dog Booker has made friends with other dogs and it's so fun to see him playing and happy. He was boarded over his birthday this past year and they gave him special treats and extra attention. They sent us pictures and videos. They are currently under renovation, redoing the front office check-in space. It will be nice when it's all completed, but it's been nice they have stayed open during the renovation. This summer our flight was delayed flying home from Chicago and Shea was great letting us pick up Booker a little later. We didn't want to wait another day to see our baby! Another time we were stuck on the 17 in traffic because of an accident coming home from Flagstaff. They understand how important our fur baby is to us! Another time Booker got a hot spot on his paw and they were on the phone with me about it and how I wanted it treated. Then after he was home Shea followed up with me to see how he was doing. Booker always comes home happy and tired. Always Unleashed is a great place for day care or boarding, highly recommend.
