I had met Dianne at Find Your Inner Dog originally at my work. She would bring her awesome dog Petunia to my building for frequent visits with my residents. I later on got to find out how dedicated and focused Dianne is with pet training as well as educating their human owners. I've had the privilege of using her services now twice and each time the outcome was awesome. I like the fact that it is not just training the pet, but educating me as well. Her first assignment was showing my 3 dogs how to get out of the pool in case they fell in. My husband had real reservations regarding one of our dogs. Dianne (BTW came to my house to do this in my pool) got in the pool and 1,2,3 got all 3 dogs in within seconds. After she was done with the training, sat down with me and wrote a list of how to keep up with the training at home after she left. I've had great success at home with the dogs myself. Two of them (one because of his breed) love going back in the pool in the summer to cool off, but in return I get peace of mind. I met Dianne in 2012 when I was a volunteer with Desert Labrador Retriever Rescue. I was fostering a special dog, Boomer, who recently went blind. Boomer was adopted and returned just a few days later. It was my first experience with a special needs dog and I wondered if he would find the right family. After talking with Dianne on the phone, we brought Boomer to her house for a visit. When we drove up, Dianne was waiting outside. As I watched her reaction to seeing Boomer, I knew right away that it was meant to be. Dianne and I have stayed in touch and I saw Boomer bond with his new family, learn to swim, and go on a road trip to the beach. Sadly, Boomer became ill and went to the Bridge - but he couldn't have had a better home for his final months. Two years later, my husband and I moved to CA and adopted a rescue dog, Indy. With all of my foster experience, I never imagined that it would be a challenge to bond with an adopted dog - but it was. I reached out to Dianne and she was there to help me. I found Dianne via the NextDoor app. We recently rescued what we believe is a Belgian Malinois. These dogs are highly intelligent and have tons of energy. This dog was running the show. I reached out to Dianne, she immediately got back to me. Although she had a packed schedule, as soon as she had cancellations she fit us in. We had Smokey in training for 8 weeks with other trainers. In 4 hours we learned more than all the previous training Smokey had. I initially wanted to use Dianne, my husband thought it was too expensive. Well I can tell you she is worth every penny she charges. You can see her passion for her work and the results are amazing. The connection between our energy and the dog is crucial. Smokey was very reactive to other dogs. Dianne showed us how our energy was impacting Smokey. She then proceeded to put Smokey in the center of a room where there were dogs in crates. Smokey was calm and at one point even laid down and rested! We adopted a 2 year old lab that was in pretty bad shape, both physically and emotionally. Before we found Dianne, we had 2 different trainers and a veterinary behaviorist tell us that we should consider sending him back to the rescue, that he was not a good fit for a family. He was even asked not to return to a previous boarding facility we had taken him to. With a lot of love, and a week of training with Dianne, we have seen incredible results. I first heard about Dianne and Find Your Inner Dog from a rescue I have volunteered with for a couple of years. I saw how she had successfully helped owners and dogs with all kinds of issues around walking, feeding and other minor and major behavioral problems. We rescued a black lab who was not aggressive but was timid and scared. Dianne worked with us on how to build confidence in our dog and not play into her fears. My family has been working with Dianne on some old habits that my Labs have learned over the years. I am amazed at her ability to convey certain training techniques that work almost instantly. Dianne has been training my roommate's dog for a total of 2 lessons so far. He was just a puppy and needed basic obedience training. From the initial consultation to the last lesson, Dianne has been fun, interactive, and taught us both how to better understand him and created the foundation for him to continue what he learned from her to us. We are still actively training him, but in two lessons he's learned to sit, stay, make eye contact for his food, go down, and heel. Diane trained my Elon Mutts. Took him from extreme reactivity to a guy that learned Zen. Never did I think I would ever be able to walk my 2 labrador retrievers together but with Dianne's teaching and guidance we have achieved success by taking her Zen walk training!
