Mom bruises easily, but a Coast Care representative nonetheless reported "suspicious bruises" to hospice. Not true.I trusted this person. No other worker observed anything concerning, yet hospice was obligated to notify Adult Protective Services. Now my siblings and I are under investigation. And once we're in "the system" we have multiple family conferences, care, plans, etc. Hospice has been supportive and agrees the report was unfounded. Elder‑abuse is real and needs to be taken seriously. But this mistaken report has needlessly disrupted our family, and upset my mother. Dumb. Coast Care needs to train their people better.

We have worked with many other in-home support personnel, but none have provided the same quality of care and attention that Mike has brought to our home. We were impressed by how quickly Mike established a one-on-one connection with Percy. Within ten minutes of walking through the front door, Mike brought an immediate smile to Percy's face. This helped put Percy at ease and was wonderful for our family to see. Mike has assisted Percy with activities of daily living and has made it a point to learn household routines, such as where to put dishes, laundry, and groceries. I personally appreciate this support. Unlike other caregivers who left dishes in the sink even though we have a dishwasher, Mike empties the dishwasher, which has been especially helpful. He ensures that Percy receives attentive support in the home environment. These services have included practical daily assistance, support with speech therapy exercises provided by Kaiser, respectful personal support with bathing, monitoring general well-being, medication reminders, getting dressed, eating, and, in some cases, lunch and other meal preparation.

We were fortunate to connect with Lauren from Visiting Angels while my Mother was in a rehab…read morefacility due to a broken hip. Once Mom was able to return home we knew she would need assistance during the day while we were away. Lauren was mentioned during a support group for a rare disease my Mother has. She was very thorough, communicative and listened to what my Mother needed. It took a reasonable amount of time to find the right caregivers that meshed well with Mom. But, that was expected, as new people enter one another's lives it takes time to find the right fit. Lauren's team literally saved her life. Part of Mom's neurodegenerative disease impacts her ability to chew, and swallow. While taking her morning vitamins one day, Mom began choking and the visiting angel with her immediately knew what to do. Had the caregiver not been with Mom that day she wouldn't be us. Unfortunately because the disease continued to progress we eventually had to find a suitable home to provide her with 24 hour assistance. Had Mom's disease not progressed, we would not have stopped working with Lauren and her Visiting Angels team. Lastly, I believe SD Visiting Angels was previously owned and operated by someone else, prior to Lauren taking ownership. I cannot speak to the caliber of the earlier company, however, Lauren is a knowledgeable, genuine and caring person. We are thankful we were able to work together to source caregivers for our loved one.

My Calstro team was always available to me, always responding with sincerity, concern and support. As my mom's last couple of weeks were becoming more intense, stressful & even scary, my core team - Antonio, Diane, Byron, Mark, JR, Arlyn & Joana all spent extra time with the two of us, supporting us both. I will forever be grateful to this incredible group of loving, caring, heroic & sincere care staff. "My Team" included: Antonio, Diane, Byron, Mark, Chaplain Kathleen, Chaplain Joana, social workers Daniela & Irene, Janette, Arlyn, Macy, Sae, Christine, Janine, Toni & lastly my rock and super star JR. I could not have made it through this with any other remarkable team of people and I consistently felt like Mom was their number one priority and their favorite patient. - Caryn G

A HUGE shout out to Kim and crystal for helping me and being the only ones we could understand out of all the phone calls we had. When we got a call from someone Wednesday we could barely understand the person on the phone as it was not crystal or Kim and my husband was praying he was agreeing to something correctly. All we really understood was were we home on Thursday or Friday for delivery and it would be about 90 dollars we have to pay. The guy came to our house and was so nice. No issues understanding him at all!! And guess what he said we didn't have a copay as my husband's insurance covered it. Sooo again where is the disconnect happening??????? But it's all taken care now. So again a huge thank you to Kim and crystal for all your help !!! I truly wish I could leave no stars. This place should be called worse care health. For two weeks have been tying to get my husbands cpap machine. No two workers you speak to have the same answer. Always being told one thing the. An hour later get a call back saying oh never mind. Then call two days later after being told we will call you before the end of the day and no call and being told the same stuff over and over again and making no head way. Today we have spent almost 2 hours trying to get answers. An hour to talk to a supervisor which never happen. Was hung up on and then transferred to voicemail. You have shown you do not care about your customers. Can barely understand the employees on top of that. It's pretty sad I can drive from east county San Diego to north county San Diego while holding for a supervisor that never happen. Again total waste of time trying to do anything. Oh yea on top of all this last week when we were told they need to call the insurance company they STILL HAVE NOT CALLED. on todays hold my husband even to call his insurance company AGAIN and nothing had been processed or received by them. Then when you look up their corporate phone number to file a complaint, oh shocker it's the same options as the regular phone number. What kind of messed up placed is this besides one that seems like it is just for the money and lack of customer service/ support. Oh I know I will get the generic response of please email us at info so they can look in to all of this. Which doesn't help us much because this is a complete shit show. Tell me how to get my husbands cpap machine !!!
