Wow! Val's rivals Columbus's Dan the Baker and is absolutely worth the morning weekend drive to…read moreDayton to get your very own! We took a quick trip from columbus to Dayton and were instantly impressed. This is definitely a cafe that loves its city and features many locally made wares. We got the garlic cream cheese danish, the Kellie pie danish, the orange monkey bread, and the buttered croissant. My only problem was that the croissant was covered in a brushing of sugar syrup and it would have been nice for it to just be a butter croissant. It was still delicious and perfectly fine just wish it would have been named more appropriately:) Staff are efficient but kind as there is always a line out the door. We were lucky to still grab some seats inside on a hot day; however, there is well shaded seating outside as well. 4 pastries are a lot for 2 people so we could not try any more. We can't wait to go back!!!!

There is a large indoor seating area. There is some street parking. If I had been parked better I would've lingered. Instead I chose 4 items to take away in a box. I enjoyed everything. They have some really interesting pastries and also the more typical ones. It's on the high $ side. In my opinion it's a treat, a special event kind of place. This is not a get a dozen for the kids ball game kind of spot. Again, just my opinion. I hope to return when I can sit and linger.

Yesterday for my birthday week I reserved spots so we had the full experience! It's incredibly clean in here, cat lounge, outer lounge and restroom. I haven't been to second floor (no cats) but I'm sure it's equally nice. Staff are great, welcoming, caring about both cats and people. The outer lounge is very chill and cozy, cat decor everywhere of course and you can experience a view of some of the kitties. The baked goods are tasty, and you can get coffee, tea, cold brew, as well as wine. That's by the bottle only and you'll be served a glass at a time and they can seal what's left over to go. The cat lounge is a joy to behold. We interacted with about eight cats of differing personalities. You do not have to reserve but there is of course a limit on number of people inside at any one time. Honestly, while the cat lounge is plenty spacious for up to 18 cats, i think it would get a little uncomfortable with 12 humans inside. So I'm glad we chose a weekday on the earlier side. We had the place to ourselves for at least half an hour then another couple came. It's $10 per person for an hour, and the time goes fast! Parking might be a bit challenging. They have a small lot in the rear which includes one disabled spot, and you enter from the rear. I hope to get back to the Catfe soon and I recommend you stop by too.

Not to mention, my wife's name is Adelaide which isn't very common, so we definitely wanted to visit. It's located in the St. Anne's Hill area which was actually quite quaint. There is small parking lot right next to the building off of 5th street, as well as parallel street parking. The inside is kind of small, with maybe 5-6 two person tables. They also have a terrace outside with bench seating. Lots of people got things to-go while we were there. Decent selection of baked goods, as well as coffee drinks. The prices were crazy reasonable -- $1 for a cookie!! We tried a maple sausage quiche, brown sugar mini pop tart, brown butter chip cookie and iced coffees. All of it was delicious, and the coffee was really good too. If you're unable to make it to the brick and mortar location, they are also on Market Wagon where you can have the goods delivered to your doorstep!

I had the cardamom rose latte with almond milk which was delicious. The pastries are to die for - we tried both the oatmeal gingerbread and maple brown sugar pastry that resembled a mini pop tart. The food at this place is insane, I've been many times and every time I eat here it just gets better and raises my standards for other restaurants. They have two full sides of menu, and there's not a single dud. Their burritos are flavorful and perfectly curated, their pancakes are sweet and huge, and their chicken makes me understand why people explode to 500 pounds. I could go on forever. The service in this establishment is so excellent. The waitresses are super kind and fun, as well as helpful. Art fills the walls creating a beautiful space that Is intensified by tasteful music picks. This place feels straight out of a movie. Every choice they make for their business is so wonderful and you can tell it's a real team effort. This is what Ohio is, this is culture and community, and this is the unity food should bring.

You can tell they're aiming to put a unique twist on classic brunch dishes, which I can appreciate, even if it wasn't quite my style. I ordered the Gravy'd Cheddar Tots, and my friend ordered the Breakfast Burrito. While the food was well-prepared, I personally found the value a bit lacking for the price. The Gravy'd Cheddar Tots consisted mostly of tater tots topped with eggs, white cheddar, and gravy. I basically paid $16 for 2 eggs; I left more hungry leaving than I did coming in. I understand that their menu is designed to be creative and different from a traditional brunch spot, but I found myself missing some of the more classic breakfast elements. In the end, it just wasn't the right fit for my preferences, and I left wishing the meal had been a bit more filling.
