We came in with the whole pack. That meant 2 adults 4 school age and one toddler, you can imagine its craziness. The lady helping us was absolutely wonderful. She was super pleasant, helpful and patient as my children tried to decide what delicious goods they wanted. My toddler devoured the croissant before i made it back to the car with my breakfast sandwich they made fresh to order. Their breakfast club sandwich is so good! It was a bit small for the price but it is a perfectly constructed sandwich. They had a sit in dining area where you can enjoy lunch and breakfast in one half of the storeas well. We drove almost 30 minutes to come to troy and definitely worth the trip!

The veggie sandwich is my absolute favorite! It was perfect paired with the cauliflower bisque (SOTD).

Clientele was primarily older (retired) but still saw younger couples as well. Our waitress was nothing fancy but she got the job done and checked in on us a couple of times. I love finding old "hole in the wall" places and this is one we will hit again when we drive by. Not much in the gluten free realm, so keep that in mind. We will be back. Serve a small menu of breakfast all day...a true dinner. Was going to get a slice of pie for dessert until I asked if it was homemade...our waitress said they weren't so I passed. The tip from the previous diners was on the table & when the waitress came over I jokingly said 'I almost took your tip!' It was a joke & she 'not funny' as she walked by. It was a joke & when she came back to take our order she said 'we work hard for our money.' I said 'I work hard for my money too.' She then said 'I am only here to take your order.' My husband said 'it was just a joke.' Then the waitress said ' I will get someone else to wait on you.' At that, we left. Not sure what was going on with this waitress, but we were not treated right at all!!!! Too bad....maybe she was just having a bad day but we won't be back. We were not there long enough, but what we experienced was not good.

You walk in to see a counter with seating for four people, high back, swivel chairs. There's a…read morediner menu letter board up on the wall, yellow with age, announcing the flavors of milkshakes and ice cream. It's from the 60s and probably hasn't changed since they put it up 65 years ago. There's a whiteboard on the back wall with the special for the day written out. Bacon egg and cheese omelette or a sausage egg and cheese sandwich on toast. Five dollars. The kind of place with a few locals sitting at a booth having their morning coffee, one of the waitresses offering Jim the last donut because they know he will want it. He accepts it. This is, in my mind, a classic American small town diner. The kind of place I grew up, eating in my hometown of 500 people. It's not high cuisine, there's nothing fancy about the food although I did come across a few things I had never seen before on the menu. Fried mush. Meat grits specials, like the scuttle butt and the chili Bob. An age old, but perfected recipe of eggs, meat, cheese, and a starch either potatoes ( homefries) or toast. The coffee is weak and not much flavor to it but, to be honest, it's exactly what you would expect in a place like this and there's something comforting about that. Honest, simple food made day and a day out, catering to the local crowd and a few roadway, travelers like myself who happen to come across it. There's a certain charm and depth to places like this that have been lived in day and day out by the same people for decades. For those like up rounded, there's the nostalgia and connection to the many other people having the same experience day after day in communities across the United States. Forgive me if I wax nostalgia can get a little sentimental here, but this morning's dining experience definitely elicited that for me. I hope you can find your own version of this sometime today or in the near future.

Locally raised meat, locally grown vegetables, and even their own house-made bread. You can taste the care in every bite. I ordered the Brunch Burger, and it was outstanding. Two grass-fed beef smash patties, grilled to perfection, topped with a farm-raised egg, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion, all stacked on a fresh, house-made brioche bun. Even as a smash burger, it was still incredibly juicy and flavorful. It came with fresh-cut fries that were crisp, hot, and the perfect side. What really impressed me, though, was their Pay It Forward menu. For $15, you can pay for a meal for someone in need. That's not just good food -- that's a business looking out for its community, and I respect that. If you're looking for a great smash burger from a place doing things the right way, Harvester Farm to Table is absolutely worth the drive to Blanchester, Ohio. This is farm-to-table done right.

My second visit ... a 4-star experience…read more I sat in the dining room this visit - restrained rural chic. Good job. It is all hard surfaces and the music was a tad too loud (reduced upon request) and the two young infants were busy being infants ... cranky/noisy. Jayla was our server. Prompt and appropriately engaging and attentive. Unlike the prior visit, the chili was sufficiently warm when served and the spice level has improved, kind'a, sort'a like Wendy's spice level, but more flavorful - that is intended as a compliment. My buddy ordered the Italian sandwich w/roasted vegetables. The sandwich struck me as small-ish. The portion of roasted vegetables was generous. He liked both. The only disappointment this visit ... the hamburger bun utterly disintegrated after the third bite. They are proud that everything is scratch-made in house ... but this bun was a fail. I finished my burger w/fork and knife. When cashing out, the manager apologized and admitted that they had not sufficiently proofed the dough. Um; okay, so why serve a known problem? Minus 1-star. First visit: Yelp says that 3-stars is Okay. This was a 2.5-star experience that I am forgiving and rounding up to 3-stars. I sat at the counter to better gauge the tempo. The server arrived promptly with a menu, and my water appeared swiftly. It was refilled once by staff, twice by me. Inattention? Training? I ordered the single patty burger and upgraded the fries to a crock of chili. The chili was what I would describe as Ohio-mild. Not bland, just mild seasoning. The ingredients included beans (yay!) and the texture was good. The bad news: It was not hot. Not even warm. Mostly lukewarm, but four spoonfuls were cold. Yes, cold. And nobody' ever inquired if I was happy with the chili - or the burger. The menu mentions "weekly soup special." Chili was the weekly special. I am guessing that a pot of chili is kept in the cooler and only warmed(? microwaved?) when ordered. In the pic you will The burger is excellent. It was properly seasoned (not over- salted). The sesame bun was expertly toasted. The sauce is tasty and the portion was just right. The greens were a spring mix - another miss. The burger deserves cool crisp lettuce. I was not asked how I wanted the burger cooked ... it is a hand-formed thin patty, cooked on a flat top. It arrived well done, but not dried out. I would have preferred medium-rare, but was never asked. That said, I would happily order the burger again, but there is so much more on the menu that I want to try. The fries. I upgraded from fries to the chili for $2. Yet fries were also served. I am not a fries guy, primarily because I don't care for salt or carbs. These were made in house and if you like salted fries, you will probably be VERY happy with them. The ambiance is rural chic, nicely done and not what I expected to find in Blanchester. The woman working the register asked me to pay before my burger/entree was served. When I deferred, explaining that I would pay after my burger was served and consumed, she asked the kitchen about my burger and the reply from the grill suggested that my order was forgotten. When it arrived, it included fries that it should not have been plated (paid $2 to upgrade to chili. Summary: Great space. Great recipes. Great ingredients. Too many people/process problems. Will I return? Yes. I want to see if the problems are an aberration or endemic.
