Much to our surprise, they were able to squeeze us into their schedule to have it installed before Thanksgiving! Dan and his crew professionally installed a new gas line/pipe and dedicated electric circuit inside our house for the new insert and arranged with the Town inspector to obtain permits and inspection. All went exceptionally well. Dan is incredibly knowledgeable about home construction and the gas fireplace products and business. On a scale of 1-10, I rate him a 10 on customer service. With the snowstorm on Jan. 25, 2026, we tested the manual turn on using batteries in case the power goes out. After the test, the fireplace would not turn back on, so I emailed him on a Sunday morning to see if there was a trouble shoot for this problem. Immediately, he phoned me, and within 5-10 minutes, we started the fireplace with his over the phone directions!! Wow, we were so pleasantly surprised and very much appreciative of his support!! We had to go through our homeowners insurance because the cleanup costs exceeded $60,000. The restoration required professional soot remediation, sealing and repainting walls, cleaning all upholstery and fabrics, and extensive cleaning throughout the entire home. What made this even worse was the company's response afterward. They would not provide the business owner's information or their business insurance information, and they took absolutely no responsibility for the damage caused by their work. We were left to handle the nightmare ourselves.

I also wanted to remove the corbels sticking out of the fireplace. Cory came over and cleaned the chimney. He took photos and explained the previous company (who charged twice as much as Cory) left half of a 5 gallon bucket of debris inside the chimney and on the ledge. And they didn't secure a nail or screw. Cory took care of everything! The pics showed his great work! Then the corbels. He brought multiple bricks with him and fit the best ones. He explained that the mortar wouldn't match exactly but hopefully he could get it close. He definitely undersold himself. It looks amazing! If I point it out, you can see it. He shared that there were cracks and recommended purchasing an insert device or having the chimney lined. While he did not clean, we were still charged the full cleaning fee, which in theory would be credited toward future work. It has been 3 weeks and I have e mailed 3 times. The business is unresponsive. It seems like they just took the cleaning money and ran- scam or bad business practice? hard to tell.

I put a bid on Home Depot (rookie mistake) and had 2 contractors say I needed a cap that could be installed for $900. That didn't seem thorough so I called evolution chimney. They had a young man and his partner came out and they went in the basement and to the roof and told me all the work I needed done. They had to add a new and wide liner, fix the deteriorating staccato, ensured that there was no chance of carbon monoxide and of course the cap. It was well worth the investment. The first appointment I had there was a scheduling mishap so the woman that took my call offered to deploy an emergency weekend team but I opted to reschedule for the next week. The work was done in a few hours. I was worried about squirrels still getting into the attic so I put a metal trap up there but nothing has been in the attic since and no water seems to be coming through the wall. Highly recommend.
