We purchased from them tonight and all of the broth from the pho was in the bottom of the bag...have pictures to prove that...all of the other items were soaked from the broth.....the dipping sauce for the egg rolls was open and all over the egg rolls that were already soaked from the broth! Strong 4 star, more like a 4.5 in my opinion. This small little place in El Cajon puts out some really good Thai. Some of the best Tom Kha around and the side soup that comes with a lunch order is excellent. I also ordered a yum woo sen salad which was good, more like a good tasting noodle dish. My girlfriend ordered the red curry lunch special and the red curry was wonderful, the sides that comes with it like the salad and the eggroll/ fried pot sticker was just ok and could be improved upon. Fresh Spring Rolls w/ shrimp.. I was excited to try these since they're always a favorite go-to appetizer for myself and they certainly disappointed. I highly recommend you ditch the bagged salad mixture and use fresh produce. The peanut sauce helped me get through them though. A plus for the amount of sauce given. Have tried 3 different curries, each delicious. Friendly service, not too long a wait for takeout. I order 3 on the heat scale, on their recommendation; at most places I get a 5. You're better off buying a frozen calamari. Foreal. Their calamari looked like a damn funnel cake. FULL OF BREADING. So disappointing!! And the calamari part? Been to Finest Thai before for lunch and am always satisfied. Seafood Pad Thai is off the hook. The lunch special is just as big as the normal portion for less $$. This is my spot for boba when I'm in a bind or don't wanna stray far from home. They aren't a "boba" place But they have delicious Thai tea. Their Boba is the instant kind so it is not freshly made but it is still pretty tasty if you are not super picky on the texture. The only downside is that a double serving of Boba is barely a single serving anywhere else. That would be my only gripe. Aside from the woman who I believe may own it (she's very friendly) The service isn't amazing, but I just think that the front desk people are young and probably introverts like me so neither of us is bubbly and talkative, not a deal breaker for me since I don't mind getting in and out without small talk. Recently moved in to the area and ordered a large (120+) dinner for my household. Had to trash the sweet and sour, I have never had sweet and sour smell so strongly of fish. The cats were intrigued, but no one else was. At first we thought it was a soup. Cashew tofu was almost completely 1" cubes of potatoes and almost dry, which was too bad since the sauce was the best part of the order. Kings curry was so hot we are still trying to figure out how to make it edible. It honestly seems like it has no coconut milk at all, just a hot sauce on, again, potatoes. Fried tofu was really dry but also really cheap, so not too surprised. The pineapple fried rice was just rice with curry powder and a few raisins/cashews. If there was pineapple we certainly didn't find it. Peanut sauce was really good, jasmine rice was ok, and we didn't get to try 2 of the entrees we ordered since they were not delivered. Ordered 2 hours ago and food still hasn't been delivered. We even gave a 20% tip on a large order. My family and I will never eat here again. UPDATE After our order was apparently "out for delivery" and "right around the corner" for 40 min, followed by another update that they were dropping off at 5 other houses first, I finally called and said I shouldn't have to pay for cold food that takes over 2 hours to deliver-- so they just cancelled our order outright and decided to not deliver it at all, leaving us hungry and without any food 2.5+ hours later. They SUPPOSEDLY had the food in the car and just decided not to deliver it ever. What kind of place is this??! While other restaurants with great food and customer service are struggling, this place thinks horrible service is perfectly normal. This restaurant should be shut down!!! read more
