    Wagu cheese burger
    Güerita O.

Hubby and I ordered the carnitas nachos to start off they were really good would order again , we then ordered the Wagu cheese burger that was also very good , and the prosciutto & arugula flat bread pizza that we would not order again the pizza was really really chewy in my opinion flat bread pizza should either be soft or crispy to the bite. Service felt understaffed the host was the waiter and the busboy they were attentive but it did take a while to get the food out, but they were friendly much appreciated Ambiance is good, clean, they have multiple tv for games witch is a plus Would come back

I came after work on a Friday night in hopes of a Happy Hour, and boy, did they deliver. Parking is not too shabby, especially on a weekend night. Downtown Claremont is pretty difficult to find parking at, especially on the weekends. Be especially mindful of the two hours signs, in case you get a parking ticket. We had two servers at Finney's and both gals were phenomenal. They were both consistently checking in on us. The happy hour here starts from 3 and ends at 6 PM. I drank some IPAs which were $6 each per happy hour. I also ordered a spicy tuna crispy rice which was fantastic! The rice itself was very chewy and crispy at the same time. Not bad for being $9 a plate, and it had about 5 pieces. Although I haven't tried their other food, I believe this place isn't too bad. I'd love to come back to try their nachos or burgers!

Came in for a happy hour after work on a Friday. We got a table quickly which was nice. Had a blonde for $6 and a chicken and waffles from the HH menu. Everyone's food in our group was pretty tasty. For ambiance the Tables are pretty close to each other that you could hear conversations near each other but that didn't bother us much. They had multiple TVs playing sports but we were there more for food and drink. Overall we enjoyed our HH and would definitely come back.

After going to a photography session in Claremont for my son's school, decided to have a bite before heading home. Didn't know any of the restaurants around here, as I think I've only come to this part of town maybe one time prior. Checked Yelp! and this place was near the top, so we decided to try it. Located on a strip made up of mainly restaurants, we easily found free parking down the block. It is essentially a sports bar meets microbrewery - they make a bunch of their own beers. Inside was nicely decorated, there was plenty of space, and service was very friendly and attentive. The food was a mixed bag. Since it was Happy Hour, we started with the coconut shrimp to share. This was excellent, with a bunch of huge, tasty shrimp, with a delicious coconut coating fried on and a nice sweet chili dipping sauce. Would eat these again! My boy had Peggy's fried chicken combo with fries and a diet coke from the Happy Hour menu. He loved his, saying it was very tasty and had a terrific crispiness to it. I did not stay on the HH menu and instead got the club sandwich. I did not like this at all. I don't think I've ever had a club sandwich with cheese on it, but after searching the internet I guess this is common. I didn't like the swiss cheese with the chicken, bacon, and sauce. Speaking of the sauce or aioli or whatever it was, the sandwich was drowning in it, and it did not taste good. It wasn't spoiled, just a bad sauce conceptually. The sandwich came with homemade potato chips, which we both didn't like either. I thought they tasted like seaweed or nori flakes and my son thought they were tasteless and lacking any and all salt. I ordered a side of onion rings, and this was a disaster. Despite no warning on the menu, they put shreds of parmesan cheese like you get out of a bag on the onion rings, as well as dusting them with powdered dry parmesan. Because the rings were hot when the cheese went on, you could not get it off. My hands and beard and face stunk of this cheese until I could get home and wash the smell off, so for the whole ride home it felt like I had been sucking on a dirty foot made of cheese. I've never seen parmesan on an onion ring, and now I know why not. It's a god awful idea. As we left, I noticed all the other tables there - cause it was packed for HH - were all sticking to items off the Happy Hour menu. Everyone had a pepperoni flat bread pizza and the burger sliders. I guess I should have just stuck to the deals. Oh well. I doubt I'll be back anytime soon, but that's more because I'm almost an hour away from Claremont than the food was dismal. If you like bar foods, you might like some of the items. The chicken sandwich and coconut shrimp sure were good. I just can't shake the trauma of the worse club sandwich I've ever had and the parmesan onion rings. Oof!

It's like how many Finney's Crafthouse can Alex go to...lol... It's been a good amount that I've visited now. This location was a first for me. I was meeting up with some girlfriends for a late lunch which it also happened to be during happy hours from 3-5pm. Both menus, regular or HH are available if you wanted the full options. It's in the downtown location of Claremont, a cute and quaint area which I've never been to. Street parking is available with 2 hours which we found out later that there's a parking lot behind the restaurant. Which shares with the surrounding businesses. When we arrived, the hostess seated us at one of the long booth along the side right opposite to the bar. Restaurant itself isn't that big compared to the other locations I've visited. It's pretty small and seemed a little compacted. You have the big booth to one side, hi top tables right across from it and then the bar counter. Also tables along the sides and front. It wasn't too busy when we arrived but did picked up a lot during the visit. Everyone was coming for happy hour. HH menu consisted of appetizers starting at 7.00, 8.00, 9.00 and a combo which is a burger and drink or beer for 16.00. Also drinks specials starting at 6.00, 7.00, 8.00, and 9.00 based on what you want. From draft beer to house wine to cocktails. There was a good selection on HH drinks. Food, a pretty decent selection in each of the tier. We started off with a couple of dishes to share before the main. The pretzels which come with three dipping sauce, quite nice and came pipping hot. The deviled eggs, came 5 to order with a chunk of bacon. I haven't had them in a while and they were quite tasty. Easy bite size eats. Think their know for their coconut shrimp which was nice. 6 nice big pieces of shrimp deep fried to a nice golden brown and accompanied by the dipping sauce. Highly recommend it. Of course the mozzarella sticks, plain and simple but nice. 6 pieces and served with ranch and marinara sauce. The spicy tuna with crispy rice. This could be a hit or miss on how it was prepared but it was quite tasty and nice. 5 piece I believe and the rice had a nice crunch but still soft inside. I like it that way versus it being overcooked and crunchy. Lastly the pepperoni pizza. It was quite big and they also offered a hot honey drizzle if you would like it added. It could be a full meal with the size. Loads of pepperoni slices on-top of the thin crust. Starters were great, m entrees ordered but we were getting fuller already. A couple of the protein bowl, Asian ahi salad with mixed greens and the poke bowl. They were all pretty nice and weren't too heavy after the sides. Ahi salad had nice pieces for fish with, mandarin, carrots, peppers, onion, tofu, peas sprouts, cucumber with a ginger miso vinaigrette. It was quite delicious. A nice summer salad that's an easy eat. Of course the poke bowl, simple but delicious as well. Rice, avocado, cucumber, picked onions, edamame, furikake and spicy aioli. And the Mediterranean protein bowl, one with chicken added. Couscous, feta, cucumber, garbanzo, tzatziki, tomatoes and pickle onions. All were fresh and delicious and perfect for a nice summer meal. HH drinks, there was selection of items ordered. The old fashion, a raspberry splash and a couple of other items. Everything was nice and our server was a doll. Very sweet and friendly, didn't remember his name. Everyone that came out with food was sweet when delivering. All very friendly. The service was great and we had a nice meal. Nice location, small but great.

    Mediterranean Bowl with chicken
    Desiree V.

Came here to watch the Dodgers/Angels game and started with a beer at the bar before sitting down for dinner. The Mediterranean bowl with chicken was SO good, and the fried pickles were also really tasty. For the most part, the staff was attentive and friendly. We specifically came to watch the game though, and were disappointed that only 3 TVs out of probably 12 were showing it. I asked if one of the TVs facing our table could be changed, and the response that was meant to be funny came across more rude than playful. Overall, the food was great and most of the service was solid, but the experience could've been better.

    Chicken Lettuce Wraps
    Alicia N.

Came here on a weeknight to hang out with friends. The restaurant was busy even for a weeknight. Service was friendly. The food was good. I had the chicken lettuce wraps because I wasn't that hungry. My only point of contention is that the tablet thing that they have on every table makes it way too easy to accidentally get charged for a game. I had to have the server take the game off of our check because I accidentally clicked on the game before realizing that it wasn't free. I did not proceed to play the game, and it still ended up on our check. So, if you have kids, and you don't want to get charged, don't let them have access to those tablet things on the tables.

First time here. Came Saturday for lunch. Friendly staff, great environment, felt like a gastropub/sports bar. The cocktails were great. Wife had the margarita flight and enjoyed all flavors. I had the Finneys Cadillac and it was very refreshing. You can tell the drinks had fresh ingredients. Mozzarella sticks were not frozen. Breading gave a nice crunch though not a ton of flavor. The cheese was great, as was the marinara sauce. Wish the breading either was fried in a more flavorful oil or some seasoning would be added after the fry. Finney burger was good except temperature was missed. Asked for medium and there was no pink in the patty. The patty ended up being not juicy but still flavorful. A tad too much salt but still enjoyable. Tator tots are house made. Very reminiscent of home style potatoes. Not enough seasoning though. Tasted very fresh but not very flavorful. I'll try the fries next time. Mini lobster rolls were good. No notes on this one. Definitely recommend without hesitation. Overall, would recommend a visit. Yes, the preparation has room to become amazing, but by no means is Finneys bad. I appreciated the non frozen approach to the food.

The terrific Finney's burger (cut in half to show the perfectly done burger -- a true med/med-rare)
    David S.

This was my first trip to Finney's but it won't be the last. The Finney's burger completely blew away In-and-Out's so that's that. Byebye In-and-Out. Really liked the Brussels Sprouts. The Philly Cheesesteak appetizers were terrific, too. Fine service and excellent beer offerings complete the picture. Issues? Well, it's way too noisy and I don't like shouting across the table. There's bizarre deep banquets on one side that a server can't really access. And to top things off, the ketchup has HFCS which is a complete show-stopper in my book (ok...this is a minor issue, in reality). An annoying on-table payment system limits your split to three people. Otherwise, fun and great food if you can hear what's going on.

    Salad
    Sarah S.

Asked for no cheese on the salad and so they took it back and when it came back it look like they had just dug it off the top. Usually the other Finney's I go to is decent quality but had some laziness today. Food was decent otherwise. Didn't feel particularly fresh or special.

    Mahi mahi tacos
    Maria B.

My husband and I came here for lunch today for the first time and the food and staff were good. We shared the buffalo cauliflower fried appetizer, which we really liked, then I had the mahi mahi tacos and he had the chicken wings and a side salad. Everything was good. The server was fast and attentive. The hostess was super nice too. A good place to go if you are watching sporting events-they had the FIFA World Cup game on numerous tvs around the restaurant.

    Tuna crispy rice
    Sammy B.

Our experience was pretty good at Finney's! This is a newer location of the chain in a popular area of Claremont. There is lots of parking plus other shops, bars, restaurants, dessert, etc. to try nearby. To eat we had... crispy tuna rice - which was shockingly delicious for not being at a sushi place turkey burger - this burger had a Mediterranean vibe with tzatziki and roasted peppers, it did have a bit of kick to it! Southwest chicken protein bowl - a good variety of toppings, good heat To drink the Claremont IPA and raspberry smash cocktail were good! I would skip on the Brewery X seltzer (if the seasonal is still the baja blast flavor) Our service was pretty good, we were sat veryyy close next to another table, but we made do!

They've got indoor and outdoor seating and they seemed a touch understaffed for being a beautiful day. It was also a Tuesday lunchtime so maybe they weren't expecting it to be as busy as it was. We were able to prove the menu before we got seated. And our super friendly server came out and we were able to order right away. They've got a lunch special. That is a small personal pizza with a salad and we each got that. Salads came out first and I had the arugula salad, which was absolutely phenomenal. 10 of 10 would eat this every single day. The arugula was peppery and it was well dressed in a lemon vinaigrette type sauce. I am a fan of just plain lemon on mine, but this was delicious. My husband got a union salad, which is their specialty I guess. It's got colored carrots and some beets and some shallots. I thought the dressing was bland and it certainly needed salt and pepper. We asked for both and didn't get either. Our pieces came out and they were nice and woodfired. I feel like they could've been done just a little bit longer maybe a minute or two. The sauce was a lovely fresh type crushed tomato sauce. The cheese was nice and gooey and did not feel or taste like a package of processed cheese. Pepperonis were greasy, but in a real meat kind of way. I had to dab mine, but my husband just went to town on his. The pickled peppers is a pickled jalapeño. Big chunks of them. They certainly didn't skimp on any of the toppings. They were a little sweet and a little hot. Some of the big chunks were a little too sweet for my liking but overall, it was a nice flavor mix Also from a size standpoint, I thought the salad and pizza were very adequate for lunch at around $20 price point I asked for salt and pepper again as well as a side of ranch. This time we did get the salt and pepper as well as cheese and crushed red pepper. But we didn't get the ranch until we were leaving. The server did apologize and said he thought someone else was bringing it out but I pretty much deducted a star because we asked for a couple different things that never came. Overall, the service was super friendly, the ambience was nice for an outdoor lunch thought. I thought the menu looked delicious and there were several things I would like to come back and try and I would go back again.

We absolutely love this place and decided to come for our anniversary. I'll preface this by saying…read morethe food taste was amazing, like always. But some shady charges or maybe we'll call it miscommunication just rubbed me the wrong way. I always order the mole chicken enchiladas and my wife (being vegetarian) asks for the same dish but if the enchiladas can be vegetable or cheese. Apparently this means a 8$ up charge? We've done this many times in the past and always been charged the same price for both. I asked the server at the end "the veggie version is 8$ more expensive than chicken?" And he just shrugged and said yes. Just found it interesting that a meat dish would be 8$ less than a purely cheese/veggie dish. Especially since done this in the past with no issue. I also asked for "hot sauce" for my dish. They brought out a spicier house salsa as the hot sauce...totally understandable and the salsa here is usually free. Apparently it's a 4$ "chipotle sauce" that the waiter did not inform me would be charged. I would've easily just said I want tapatio or no "hot sauce". I used maybe a teaspoon for 4$. I told the waiter this when we questioned the bill and he just shrugged. These may seem like small inconveniences but when they seem like they intentionally don't tell you the details and then when called out about it just kinda shrug it off, it was a disappointing end to an otherwise tasty dinner. We love it here and will certainly be back but it just sucks that I have to be extra cautious & skeptical when ordering from now on.

We had lunch/brunch here and had an amazing experience! Andrew was such a spectacular server and even brought a great white wine to go with my ceviche. He accommodated to our party which had children and just provided just such a great experience for my parents 40th anniversary brunch. The menu has a lot of variety without being overwhelming or excessive (I don't trust restaurants that have too much on their menu lol). I ordered oysters, which were on the small side but the flavors they placed on top were amazing. I followed with an entree of ceviche which was generous, DELICIOUS, and nourishing. Our table ordered an array of items: Portuguese scramble, Shakshuka, Hugo's rotos con Jamon, the branzino, breakfast pizza, Italian breakfast sandwich, French toast- each one exceeding all expectations. Playlist was repetitive but fun for me, a millennial drinking mimosas and white wine lol.

Once we were seated, he came over and asked us what we would like to drink and suggested making a special beverage and it was delicious! Food was good and our server was very attentive and took great care of our party of 8. My favorite dish of the night was my hamachi collar bone! It was light and the watermelon salad was refreshing. The reason for the 4 stars was the pricey drink prices and they boxed up our chicken but somehow mixed it up and we came home with a dessert instead!
