Chicken enchiladas and my delicious chips and guacamole
    Teresa T.

This is one of my new favorite restaurants. I love love the beans and rice and chips and salsa and I've had a couple of tacos the other two dishes I tried I really liked, but I would love to explore more things on their menu. This is a really really great new addition to Claremont.

If you're looking for real, authentic Mexican food in Claremont, stop what you're doing and head to Amores Restaurant. The chicken tinga is packed with incredible flavor and cooked to perfection. The carne con chile is as authentic as it gets, not the Americanized Mexican food you'll find at many other places around Claremont. This is the real deal. And the salsas? Absolutely amazing! Every one is delicious, but that orange salsa is hands down my favorite. I also can't forget the iced café de la olla... WOW. It was so good that it didn't need a single packet of sweetener or a splash of milk. Perfectly balanced and full of rich, authentic flavor. This place is a hidden gem that truly delivers an authentic Mexican dining experience. I'll definitely be back!

I always love coming here! I enjoy their breakfast, lunch and dinner! Their food just remind me of a home cook meal and their aguas fresca is refreshing! Overall The place is so cute and the customer service is always great!

This is our 2nd time here and the food was just as delicious as the first time. Although, the restaurant is small, it is bright and clean inside. We had to wait about 10 mins to be seated and were helped within a few minutes. The waitresses are always friendly. The shrimp tacos is my favorite! The queca taco is unique and so tasty. The machacha has lots of flavor and is a good size. Overall would recommend trying them out.

We came here when it just opened and had cafe de olla and tres leches cake and that was amazing! Dense moist cake not too sweet and the cafe de olla was perfect. Today we came for lunch and was still able to order breakfast. This time we sat outside in the back in their little patio area and it was very cute and private. I had the breakfast machaca and the eggs to meat ratio was just right. The meat was tender and flavorful and the beans were delicious. My friend wanted mole chilaquiles and said the flavors were so authentic and tasted homemade. Our other friend had the cochinita pibil. Our waitress was kind enough to let us know that they cook it fresh daily and it needed another 15min it's and if we were ok to wait. It was well worth the wait. Our friend said it was super flavorful and the meat was so tender it was perfect for her. My husband liked his fajitas but was thrown off with the cheese on top. But overall the food were very delicious and authentic. The service was excellent our waitress checked on us all the time. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you are getting.

I came here since I saw that they had mole poblano ($20). Place is in the Claremont Village and the tables were filled quickly. Street parking only. I also got a Baja fish taco ($5) to try which came with sliced cabbage, pico de gallo, and sour cream. The fish batter was not too crispy and the portion size was good. The mole poblano came with a side of beans and rice. The chicken was tender and came off the bone easily. The mole had a good amount of heat, more smokier than other places I've tried. The waitress was nice.

"Sadly, our experience was disappointing. Unfortunately, we didn't get to eat here. We were a party of two and asked for a four-top, but the server was rude and inflexible, even though the restaurant was about 90% empty." "The interaction was so off-putting that we chose to leave."

Amores in Claremont fits perfectly into the charm of the village, where everything feels a little more local and thoughtfully curated. I always enjoy spending time in that area, and this spot blends right in with that small town, independent feel. The food was delicious, and the mole in particular stood out with both its flavor and presentation. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but it's spotless and stylish, with crisp white walls and deep blue accents that make the space feel clean and elevated. Service was friendly and efficient without feeling rushed, which made the whole meal feel relaxed. It ended up being a really nice dining experience and a place I would gladly return to when I'm in Claremont.

We stopped by for dinner last night and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. We got both the mole poblano and ceviche, by the end of the meal we were practically licking our plates clean. Also their carnitas was amazing! The taco came out loaded with meat and had tons of crispy pork pieces adding to both the flavor and texture. We will definitely be back soon to try the rest of the menu. Don't forget to try the Tres Leches before leaving!

    Chilaquiles breakfast.

First time here and OMG I can't wait to come back and try their other dishes. This wasn't just some chips with cheese & salsa thrown over them, like most places. Tasted homemade and the potatoes, yum! The food was bursting with flavor. I rarely post reviews but I had to let you know, you gotta try this place. I know we'll be back!

Not me finding a spot that tastes like someone's tia is in the back cooking. The huevos rancheros were PERFECT sauce tasted homemade, super fresh, and full of flavor. Rice and beans? Exactly how they should be. The sausage breakfast burrito was also really good simple, filling, and done right. If you want real, authentic breakfast... this is it.

The most delicious and authentic Mexican food I've had in a long time. Everything I order has been scrumptious. Great location, super cute decor, great service, and one of my favorite spots in Claremont.

Stumbled across this place while on my walk at the village. Super cute little restaurant. Clean, pretty and cozy. The staff are all very friendly. I was craving something healthy and ordered their quinoa salad. It was sooo good! It had grilled chicken, avocado, red onion, garbanzo beans, cucumbers and mango with this zesty lime dressing. The menu had a lot of different items but I'll definitely come back for this particular salad!

Chicken fajitas immediately after I set them down on the passenger seat of my car. I hadn't even pulled out of the parking spot.

But some shady charges or maybe we'll call it miscommunication just rubbed me the wrong way. I always order the mole chicken enchiladas and my wife (being vegetarian) asks for the same dish but if the enchiladas can be vegetable or cheese. Apparently this means a 8$ up charge? We've done this many times in the past and always been charged the same price for both. I asked the server at the end "the veggie version is 8$ more expensive than chicken?" And he just shrugged and said yes. Just found it interesting that a meat dish would be 8$ less than a purely cheese/veggie dish. Especially since done this in the past with no issue. I also asked for "hot sauce" for my dish. They brought out a spicier house salsa as the hot sauce...totally understandable and the salsa here is usually free. Apparently it's a 4$ "chipotle sauce" that the waiter did not inform me would be charged. I would've easily just said I want tapatio or no "hot sauce". I used maybe a teaspoon for 4$. I told the waiter this when we questioned the bill and he just shrugged. These may seem like small inconveniences but when they seem like they intentionally don't tell you the details and then when called out about it just kinda shrug it off, it was a disappointing end to an otherwise tasty dinner. We love it here and will certainly be back but it just sucks that I have to be extra cautious & skeptical when ordering from now on.

This place was packed and for our table of 6, we had to wait about 45 minutes. Pro tip (call ahead, you'll be happy you did). But we walked around the cute town and came back with a table waiting for us. To start, I had to try the iconic salad. My mom and her friends raved about how yummy the salad was and I have a sneaking suspicion why. That bad boy is packed to the brim with so much cheese. But yes it was totally yummy. My favorite part is they bring you a whole squirt bottle of vinaigrette dressing. Yes please! I totally understand the hype. The rest of our meal was ok. Now the food.... I had the Chon's Breakfast Comal. The chorizo was ok. Lacked quite a bit of flavor. Potatoes tasted kinda like they were boiled and then finished in a sauce, then plated. The bell peppers and onions were fantastic. A lot. But they were cooked well. Over easy eggs were decent, despite one of them being cooked all the way through. Comal was perfect temperature. But insanely greasy (which is expected from chorizo). Rice. Eh... Rice is rice. Wasn't bad. But was all "Oh my goodness this is amazing." Beans tasted like the refried Rosarita's can. Just topped with cheese. The salsa. It was pretty good. The 1st time. Until I found a hair. Then I was given a 2nd one. And when I decided to eat it, it was no good. It was starting to spoil. I realized this once I put it on a bite I was about to take and immediately put it in my food i was about to chew in my napkin. After about 15 minutes when my server finally came by, I told her of the situation. She said "I'll go check." Then disappeared. Someone else gave me the check, and then someone else brought the receipt. The initial server didn't pop up until I was getting up to walk out. So no manager interaction. No "we'll comp your coffee." Just a "Sorry you didn't like it." As I walked out. Ambiance is cool, but some table placement doesn't make sense. That needs to be addressed. Will I come back here? I don't know. Maybe. Maybe not. But I'm talking like 80 no /20 yea. So I guess we'll see.. So I'm giving this place 1 star. I'm sorry, but this is my opinion based on my 1st experience here. Maybe it'll be better. We'll see....
