Great tasting Italian food with a great atmosphere. A cozy, little Italian place with food that will satisfy your appetite and make you feel full. The bread knots they serve before a meal are addicting and all the entrees I've tried have been great. Fried calamari and fried mozzarella are great appetizers. Their espresso and cappuccino are also great after meals. My experience here was OK, came here for lunch. Garlic knots are placed on the table. They were quite good and very garlicky. We ordered a flavored martini, could have been better. The interior of the restaurant has been remodeled and is nicely decorated. However, we chose to sit outside which was quite nice as well. The service was good and the wait was attentive. The food was pretty good. I ordered the Chicken Triestino which came out very well. The chicken was quite tender and the flavors were great. Pricing was fair. This was my first time there. I wet with a friend who had been there before. Good atmosphere. Garlic knots were awesome. She had mentioned that the server we had was her server before and kept messing up the orders. Of course, he messed it up again. When we finally got our food, it was ok. I ordered the shrimp scampi. It was very oily and not very scampi. Edible, but eh at best. Her eggplant parmesan was ok. We ordered a slice of cheesecake for desert. Very dry and not very good. Positives: salad and pasta come with the meal and the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is very nice and although it is a bit tight, I have seen worse. Garlic knots were very good. The food was good but I would not say it was rave worthy. The prices make it taste a bit better. The dishes sound like they have a lot of potential but fall short. Negatives. While the staff was somewhat attentive, the attitude was lacking. We had to ask about the specials. We were never offered a desert menu, just the check. Stopped in to have dinner. Garlic knots are yummy. Had the eggplant rollitini and it was okay but surprisingly dry in the center. I've had this dish numerous times at other Italian restaurants - (papa joe's in Darien (small, family owned restaurant, not the pizza chain, and Consiglio's on Wooster street in New Haven to name a couple) and it has always been a light, moist dish. The rendition of this dish at Fiore's was just not that great. Plus, the sauce was sooOOOoo salty. No need for that much salt. Truly. Would I recommend this restaurant? Yes, probably so. Maybe for lunch instead of dinner when it would be less in price. Would I go back? Perhaps. I might give them another try and definitely order something different. I was a little disappointed based on all the stellar reviews. My gf and I ate here and expected to be blown away (based on these Yelp reviews). However, I found the food just to be OK. I had the Chicken Piccata and my gf had the Chicken Fiore. Both were ok, but we were surprised when BOTH of our entrees came WITHOUT PASTA?? huh? Wait, I'm at a Italian restaurant and ordered 2 entrees and NIETHER inlcuded pasta??? Also, I expected the Chicken Piccata to be thick slices of chicken breast, but it was more like these thinner slices of "grilled chicken" or something. VERY disappointed with the meal last Sunday. I ordered mushroom stuffed raviolis; they were bland, with unidentifiable innards, under a thick, underseasoned tomato sauce. My daughter wanted shrimp scampi. She got linguini and shrimp with burned garlic and olive oil for a sauce. Almost embarrassed that I have been a Middletown resident for so long and haven't frequented this place. WHY WHY WHY ! Things need to change. Hubby and I didn't have a reservation for a Saturday night. Stupid and lesson learned. Was quoted 30 minutes which was pretty much exactly when we were approached by hostess and asked if we would consider a spot at the bar. Absolutely ! We were immediately seated and greeted by an amazing female bartender who could not have been a better fit for that job. Friendly, engaging and attentive. We mentioned that we were in a bit of a rush due to having to pick up our daughter from work and they accommodated us beautifully. Dinner salads were out in less than 5 minutes, amazing garlic bread, orders taken, and drinks delivered. It was extremely crowded but somehow that almost added to the experience and ambiance. The small cozy atmosphere contributes to the experience here, but I can't even imagine what this place could do with more room, especially for the bar. They appear to have a strong customer following with "regulars" and it's just one of those neighborhood spots that is a staple for downtown Middletown. My husband and I commented to eachother that not only will we be back for the food, but will come back on a quieter night, maybe mid-week, just to chat and socialize with the lovely bartender and enjoy our drinks (on a night where we don't have kid duty !). read more

Decent little boston feel right on main st. The garlic knots are good and the food is average Italian food. I'm giving them one star for the service. The last time I went and ever will go to this establishment due to this. Our waiter was very rude and inattentive. This wouldn't be a big deal except we order e the clams casino appetizer. I should have known the plate was hot but she didn't tell me the cast iron plate they came on were scorching hot just threw the plate on the table without a word and I went to move the plate closer and burned my hand to the point I had to run to the bathroom and run my hand under cold water for minutes. Something that severely hot and you don't say something shows you clearly don't care and if my girlfriend didn't calm me down I would have made such a bigger scene than just leaving. Went to celebrate my birthday with my twin sister. The meals in general were pretty bland. The house salad that was included with the meal was more salad dressing than actual salad. I'm not sure why they bothered dirtying a plate to serve it. Had the day's special of Veal Florentine. A very tasteless plate of food. The Crème Brulee dessert obvious went from refrigerator directly to the table. Service was good. They weren't terrible busy. I wouldn't return here by choice. read more

If anyone is thinking of hosting an event at Fiore 11 in Middletown, my advice is don't hesitate. My family recently held a birthday party for our first great-grandchild and it was fabulous. It was our first attempt to get our families from CT. & MA. together following COVID. Little did we know that on our scheduled day, the annual Holiday on Main would be taking place making parking a bit difficult. Our out of state guests experienced a traffic delay resulting in later than expected arrivals. Having to hold food can be extremely difficult but the staff did it. So worth the wait because when the appetizer platters arrived, they were bursting with flavor and piping hot. Fresh salads and yummy garlic knots appeared at every table followed by 4 entrees, chicken, fish, steak and pasta, delicious and prepared to perfection. Desserts were a double offering of tiramisu and cannoli. Sounds like a lot of great food and our guests agreed. Throughout the entire afternoon the staff went about their duties smoothly and efficiently without interrupting the "catching up" that went on. Whether it was to take a drink order to remove used utensils, they did it all and seamlessly. We were in the main dining room which is a lovely and comfortable setting. I have been a patron here since opening in Middletown and have never been disappointed in their menu offerings or service. They seem to outdo themselves over and over. read more

I still love Fiore. But I can no longer in good conscience give them a 5 star review. The service and the food quality have slipped in the past 6 months. There's still no other Italian place in Middletown (or anywhere else in CT) that I prefer to this place, but the past several times I have been there, they have done things like bring out stale rolls or salads with bad lettuce in them. One time I actually had to send back my salad because half the leaves were brown/gone off. The servers seem to have gotten bored (well, they are the same folks after all these years). It's still great food (if you order the right things) for a very reasonable price. I'll continue going here in hopes of reliving the Fiore glory days. read more

Fiore the epitome of Italian dining, I live in Manhattan and can not wait to come here to visit family and make my way down to fiore's because the food and service just doesn't compare! The garlic knots are scrumptious and consistent, moving along i had the Fradiablo shrimp - my wife had salmon and it was excellent to the last bite, the owner Gano.. he is the owner is so extremely accommodating as was the waiter who was very attentive , I saw him look over a few times didn't even have to wave my hand for service as he always seemed to be ready to come by with a refill and was very educated in his wines that complimented our food. Hands down a staple in the neighborhood and I am a fan for life. My recommendation- literally anything on the menu as I work my way through It myself I recommend you close your eyes and point and u will enjoy it! read more

My husband and I love Fiore for simple, good Italian food in Middletown. The food is just good Italian food. My husband is a huge fan of the Veal parmesan (and has tried it at countless Italian restaurants but says this is the best) and I adore the Eggplant Fiore (I love Eggplant and all too often it's cooked completely wrong, but here it is just right and not at all oily). Went here for the first time last night, enjoyed the garlic knots that were brought to the table. I was unimpressed with their wine list, didn't have many options for wine by the glass. I ordered the Chicken Fiore which was good, I really enjoyed the vodka sauce that came with it. For anyone who is planning to go here for the first time, if you order an entree that doesn't come with pasta, you can order a side of pasta. What I didn't know was that the pasta automatically comes with red sauce on it, which didn't go super well with the vodka sauce on my Fiore. This is honestly the worst restaurant I've ever been to. They treated me and my friend like we don't exist. They throw the food flats at us and waited twenty minutes to get us our check and again throw them at our table. The waiter did not great us in any way and was rude to me when I brought him the bill. Above average Italian cuisine. Recently went to Fiore's on a recommendation from a family member who said it was a great classic Italian restaurant that had great calamari. The restaurant itself is rather small so if there is a wait for a table you have to either cram into their tiny bar in the front, press yourself against the entrance way, or wait outside. From what I observed the clientele is on the older side which would make one think that there might have been an AARP membership meeting going on. Don't get me wrong it seems like a nice place for a date but not a place to casually hangout with friends. The meal itself was above average Italian fare. The calamari that was talked up so much did not live up to the hype. It was good but not great. The best part was the fresh marinara sauce. For my meal I had the shrimp fra diavlo which I requested to be made extra spicy and it was excellent. Another member of my party ordered a steak which was cooked well but had a lot of gristle and not enough meat. Another member of my party ordered lobster ravioli which was described as being just "OK". The portions are large and generous and the prices are in line with what you would expect to pay at a place like this. The major downside was the dessert course... because there was none. The waiter brought us our a nice bifold dessert menu with numerous dishes to choose from. When it came time to place the order we were informed they did not have about 3/4 of the items on the menu and of course what they did have is not what we wanted. This has been my family's go to restaurant for years! It has been recently remolded to provide more seating- with the option to sit outside in nice weather. To start they provide the table with fresh garlic knots- covered in oil, garlic and parmesan- perfection when delivered to the table warm. All entries come with a salad (but I have substituted this for soup (the pasta fagioil is usually very good). For dressing try the house salad dressing- its a very tasty creamy italian. My favorite entre here is the chicken parmesan, but you can't go wrong with any of the other chicken dishes (or the entire menu for that matter!). The meals no longer come with pasta on the side but if you ask they will provide you with a serving. I would ask for the dish over pasta because if you don't it comes on the side with red sauce. Excellent sauce but it doesn't go well with your meal if you ordered a dish with vodka, marsala or other type of sauce. I am usually too full for dessert but on occasion I have ordered the tiramisu and it was delicious! read more

Spur of the moment dining on a Thursday night. Service was good and the decor was pleasant. Kind of disappointed with the meals though. Ordered spinach manicotti which turned out to be made with store bought style ridged lasagna. Sauce was decent but this entree was heavily salted. My wife's Chicken Florentine was good according to her but a meager portion of chicken. The house Montepulciano Primavera smelled nice but tasted like it was starting to turn. This USED TO BE one of my absolute favorite restaurants... I loved the atmosphere, the prices and most of all the eggplant Fiore was the most amazing dish! We have to drive over a half hour to get there, so it was only an occasional visit. We went last night only to find out that they took my favorite dish off the menu! What!?! I also noticed that the prices had increased significantly. I asked if they would still make it and they said yes. When it came out, I discovered that they made it different than before. It was dry and layered with lasagna noodles! What!? I used to want to pick up my dish and lick the plate and last night I didn't even finish my meal. Sooooooo disappointing. Not only that... the garlic knots which are usually just incredible, were hard and some were burnt... No taste at all. A young man who didn't speak picked up our plates... So no one ever knew how disappointed I was. I'm wondering if the restaurant is under new management? If so, I'm not at all interested in returning. Damn. read more

This place is fantastic. The place is nice, the food is wonderful, the service is excellent, and the prices are extremely reasonable. They bring you a basket of garlic knots covered with parmesan that are just melt in your mouth delicious. You can also buy carafes of wine for a great price. We ordered and split the lobster ravioli which was fantastic. I cannot wait to go there again.
