During a pandemic, one needs to stock up on necessities like Italian ice cream aka gelato, and Fiorello's Artisan Gelato is the best! These are one of those local hidden gems you don't want anyone to know about, but sharing is caring. You can order takeout or delivery via Yelp. They're located near Foodles for those who know the area on Kerner Blvd. Not open on weekends btw. I was so lucky to have met the one and only Tony Fiorello; he's the GOAT (greatest of all time) Italian ice cream inventor. He's truly a genious and loves making people happy with his delicious flavors. The list of flavors is endless i.e., caramel with sea salt, Valhrona chocolate, cookies & cream, Dulche de Leche, caramel, green tea, Kahlua Dutch Almond, French Vanilla bean, Tony Spumoni, mint chip, Knob Creek butter pecan, peanut butter burst, rum raisin, tiramisu, pistachio, etc. We've tried almost all of them; they also make delectable sorbet. Can't go wrong with Fiorello's, never disappoints. Our back freezer is stocked with pints of gelato. They sell batches of 6 cups (one flavor per batch). You can find them at local grocery stores, gas stations, MVFF, catering events, etc. It's a nice surprise when I find them at random small theaters and unique stores around the Bay Area. Tony has a passion for making the finest gelato in the world, and he's been doing a spectacular job since 1982! Aren't we lucky to have Fiorello's in our own backyard, not really a question. =) 'Til we meet again ~ Grazie & see you on Yelp (SYOY)!

We booked Fiorello's to provide Gelato for our wedding in September 2022 at Marin Art and Garden Center. Tony and Nancy were incredibly easy to communicate with in the months leading up to the event. We had a few flavors in mind that we wanted to try at our tasting before the event, and Nancy brought out a few extras that she thought we might enjoy as well. All the flavors were great in different ways, but we eventually settled on Blood Orange Sorbet (vegan), Black Cherry Chip, Tony's Spumoni, Triple Fudge Brownie, Salted Butterscotch, and Espresso. The gelato was a huge hit with our guests!

Simply the tastiest fresh-made gelato I ever taste here in SF Bay Aera. I am a HUGE Ice cream fan, and I can tell you that this thing is far above any others average ice cream products you can find on grocery stores shelves. Their prices might be a little bit higher but that's nothing compared to the difference of quality. THIS IS A REAL ARTISAN, no doubt! I HIGHLY recommend!

    Fun, Gelato loving people!

The shop is pretty tiny, located next to a donut shop near the netrance of a medium sized open plan shopping center. Came in there and the worker offered us whatever samples we wanted and we immediately noticed the really interesting but unusual flavors that they had. Of the classic type flavors, we really liked the brown sugar vanilla and the breakfast cereal one. The cherry special drink and the grapfruit one also tasted quite nice. But the ones that stood out the most were the thom ka and the chaat masala ones. while the chaat masala didnt end up having that distinct tanginess you might expect, the thom ka ice cream was mind blowing. It tasted exactly like having the soup but in a cool and refreshingly creamy dessert form. My mind couldn't really process it other than the fact that it was delicious. We ended up opting to pair the thom ka and the brown sugar vanilla to have a "normal" flavor to offset the unusualness of having a thai soup ice cream. We honestly could not get enough of it - it easily was one of the best ice cream scoops we had ever had and it being a plant based ice cream was insanely impressive. Frankie & Jo's will definitely be a place we will be returning to especially as the new seasonal flavors roll out so we can see what other concoctions they might be able to try and conquer.

Also there was no description of the flavors, for example, they could each say "coconut based ice cream with fudge and chocolate chips and cinnamon" or whatever but there was none. You can order ahead, but often the two people behind the counter are so overwhelmed with orders and long lines, that just getting their attention to grab your completed pizza is hard... they just don't look up while racing around the very small space. It's fun to watch them, like a well rehearsed choreographed dance. But the frenetic energy is not so fun. It would be helped if they just had one more person there during rush hours, to greet people, find out if your pizza is completed on the stack, rather than having to rudely jump the line and ask questions of these busy people.

What I will say is this: * apizza's pizzas are made to order, personal-sized, and ready in under 10 minutes; * the ingredients are fresh and creative; * the crust is very thin and goes well with the pizza; * the pizzas taste really good; and * all of them are priced under $10. On my first visit to this location I consumed my entire pizza in one sitting. On this visit, two of us each brought home half of our pizzas. The next morning I woke up to "these pizzas are great for breakfast too!". As I walked back out to the car following my visit to apizza I nodded at the salad place one door down saying "our meal would've cost twice as much there" and it would have. Is it "fast food"? Yes, but fast food that's in a different league from most. Good stuff this place is offering.

So, it has been a while since we were here, and things have changed - overall, for the better…read more We came at lunch time (about noon) but the place was not at all busy. A few folks outside some inside. This made ordering quick and easy, and the food was prepared quickly; a benefit for us, perhaps not for the business. The place is still attractive and clean, with plenty of tables outside and inside. I did not that, as my last visit, there is no shade really provided for the outside seating, save ONE small umbrella. Ugh - not sure what the issue is, and being it was a sunny day, we opted to sit inside as much as the patio called to us. The inside is nice, too, though, and there is easy access to the soda fountain machine and condiments. There are still self-ordering kiosks, large digital menus, and of course, you can also order through the app (even if standing inside!) or at the counter. We ordered a bit of each - side, main, and dessert! There was a portabella "'Shroom" burger (with a crisp-fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses, topped with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce on a toasted potato bun), cheese fries, a mac 'n' cheese, chicken bites, and a Key lime shake, a special offering! Damn the calories, full taste ahead! The food was indeed prepared quickly and served hot. The Shroom burger was my favorite last time, and for taste and texture this time was also delicious and good. The cheeses inside were melty-gooey, and the mushroom crispy. It was, though, much smaller than I remember - it fit within my hand! A con, against the price, for what is a nice option for veggies or anyone wanting a change in their burger. The chicken bites were smaller than expected in size, more like nuggets, but tasty. The mac 'n' cheese was also tasty, but also a bit small for the price. The fries are always good, and in this case, you need to dig to the bottom early on to scrape some of the melted cheese that dripped down back onto the fries. Very yummy. But the best part was the Key lime shake, a flavor I just love (cheesecake is my favorite iteration of this flavor) but this milkshake satisfied me greatly. A little pricier than their everyday shakes, but how often so you find a unique flavor like this! A win! Overall, a solid 4-stars for food flavor and quality, and also for ambience and environment. Price wise, it was about $40 for two of us, so not a great bargain, but given the economy today I have the same financial shock at other places as well. Still, a nice treat and we left happy.
